“ESAD SUMMER MINI CATALOGUE BLOG HOP”

It’s the first of December – the start of Summer (for us in the Southern part of the world!).  With that comes the start of the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalogue.  To kick this off many of us in ESAD are holding our Summer Mini Catalogue Blog Hop.

Firstly, what is ESAD?

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin Up demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now onto the Blog Hop.

You can grab a cuppa (if you haven’t already got one), sit back and take a journey to a number of blogs.  Each one will showcase products from the Summer Mini Catalogue.  So sit back relax and hopefully be inspired.  You might have come from Felicity’s blog, I hope you have enjoyed the journey so far.

Today I am showing you the Simply Adorned chains, charms and baubles.  You might have already seen this appearing on blogs from the U.S.  These are a whole new line of products for Stampin’ Up! here in Australia and New Zealand.

You can custom make your own necklace and bracelet to the way you like.  For the chains you can choose the Bracelet (which is 20cm in length) or the Necklace chain (which is 61cm in length).  The baubles come in Black, clear or pink Crystal and the Vanilla Pearl.  The charms are locket-style and you can insert your own piece you have created or add a photo.  They come in various sizes  and shapes.

Here is one I have created to show you.

You want to see it closer up, don’t you????

This is the 2.5cmx2.5cm Charm.  I have added the Vanilla Pearl Bauble.

Now don’t forget there are other charms in the Current Catalogue you can add too like the Trinket keys and the crowns.  They would make a nice addition.  I will explain what I have done for my insert shortly.

With these charms they have a hinged door that you can add your insert. Just think, you can change these to match the colour you are wearing or to suit your mood!!!!

Here are some inserts I have done.

Go for a whimsical butterfly look, or try an arty style, or since Christmas is almost upon us you can create a vintage style Christmas one.

The first one on the left is the one I had in my charm.  I created this by first stamping “En Francais” in Versamark on Whisper White card and clear embossed it then sponged in Pretty in Pink.  I stamped the swirls from “Kindness Matters” in Old Olive.  The butterfly from this set was stamped in Rich Razzleberry on scrap Whisper White card and coloured with the Blender pen.  I then cut it out and adhered it on to the piece.

For the next one, I stamped the doily from “Kindness Matters” in Crumb Cake and the butterfly in Pretty in Pink. I tore a small piece of Marina Mist DSP and sponged the edge in Soft Suede.  On a small scrap piece of Whisper White I stamped the ‘dream’ from “Fabulous Phrases”

For the Christmas one, I stamped the small ornament from “Tree Trimmings” in Cherry Cobbler.  I sponged the edges in Crumb Cake and stamped the flourish from “Tiny Tags” in Crumb Cake also.  The ‘merry’ is also from “Tiny Tags” and was stamped in Old Olive.  I added a small adhesive pearl onto the ornament.  You can add small embellishments on these inserts as you do have some room inside the charms.

I hope you like them!!! If you want to check all the great products in this Summer Mini Catalogue, then click on the link on the right to take you there.  Enjoy reading!!!

I have some other creations from the Mini Catalogue but I will save them for another day.  Now it is time to move on to Tess‘ blog to see her wonderful creations.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your journey.

“OH, CHRISTMAS TREE!!!”

Some time ago I came across this cute Christmas tree.  I finally had time recently to create it.

Here is the back of it.

You can find the original template to create your own here at Danielle’s blog.

For this one I stamped the Elements of Style swirl on to Very Vanilla and the base is Chocolate Chip.  See those coloured Rhinestones???  These are the Stampin’ Up! Clear Adhesive Rhinestones.  You can colour them with Permanent Markers.  How cool is that! I came across that trick in my blog travels recently. I can’t remember where now.  I had put the clear ones on but I think the coloured ones just set it off like lights on the Christmas tree.

The ‘Merry Christmas’ for the banner is from “Teeny Tiny Sentiments”.  I am still debating on whether to put a star on top.  What do you think??

Now you can create your very own Christmas tree.  Have fun with them.  They are VERY easy!  Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon,

RAZZLEBERRY DOILY BOX!!

You might remember a rectangular black and white box I showed you a little while ago.  (I will give you this link below if you missed it).  Recently  we did one like this box in Razzleberry for a workshop.  Of course, I used the brand new stamp set ‘Delicate Doilies’.

For this box we stamped the doily in Razzleberry over the box.  The pink strip was run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Dots Embossing Folder.  It’s a long strip, so you run it through once and then turn it around and run the other end through.  We punched 2 flowers out in Pretty in Pink with the Fancy Flower Punch.  These were scrunched several time and distressed.  Then we ran the Pretty in Pink ink pad to pick up the colour on the creases.  These were adhered together and added to the top of the box with leaves from the 2 way Bird Punch.  The doily was stamped again on scrap white card and the centre punched out with the 3/4″ circle punch.  This was adhered to the centre of the flower with dimensionals and then Dazzling Diamonds Glitter was added using 2 way glue pen to add the ‘bling’.  Here is a close-up.

The instructions for making the box and to see the black and white box I created can be found here.

I hope to be back again soon with some more creating.  Maybe I will show you some Christmas creations!

See you soon,

A FUN FETE PROJECT!!

On Sunday we had our school fete.  It was such a nice day.  It is always a worry when you plan something like this.  You never know what the weather will be like!!!  I wanted to show you a little memo book I made to sell.  I made some of these a few months ago for the stall at a Party Plan Expo that I did and they were very popular there too.  The original idea came from Carla here.

These are little Post-it note clip holders.  They are so simple and easy to make.

To create these: Cut your card (I use the backing from your DSP packs) and a piece of DSP to 10cmx10cm.  Adhere these together and round the corners with your corner rounder punch.  Cover a large noteclip with DSP and it clips easily onto the holder .  For the clips, just check the size you are using.  Mine were 50mm ones.  I cut the DSP 5cm x 7.5cm.  I used Tombow glue to adhere the DSP to the clip. Tie around some co-ordinating ribbon.  EASY!!!

These are little note clips I created too using Carla’s idea here.  These can be used as a note/photo holder.  They are made the same way as the clips above.

They would make great gifts and very easy to do.

Thanks for looking.  I hope your week is going ok?

GOOD-BYE “HELLO AGAIN”

That title sounds a contradiction doesn’t it???  The stamp set “Hello Again” is another retiring set.  I have to say I haven’t used it a lot since I got it.  Last week I had my “Last Hurrah” class to say Good-bye to some of the products that are leaving us.  I chose this set to use and I had a lot of fun putting this together.  Everyone got to make this mini card folder and a set of Love note size cards.  Here is the set together.

A close-up will make it a bit easier to see!

There were 2 cards in Pretty in Pink and 2 in Rich Razzleberry.  The little box frame was created by inking up the clear block and stamping on the Whisper White card.

On the flower card, I stamped first with Old Olive onto the card piece and then with Rich Razzleberry and again with Pretty in Pink onto scrap card.  The Razzleberry flower was punched out with the 1″ circle punch and the Pretty in Pink was punched out with the small circle on the Owl punch.  On the other card I added some bling with the Adhesive Rhinestones on to the greeting strip. This was punched out with the Word Window Punch and then the Modern Label Punch.

Here are the Rich Razzleberry cards.

Both of these have bling added with either Dazzling Diamonds or a Rhinestone.

Now for the pouch that the cards go into.

The pouch was inspired by one that was made as a Make and Take at the US Convention last year.  It was for little ‘Inchy’ cards.  I adjusted this to fit the 3″x3″ Love note size cards.  I forgot to take a photo of it open but it just folds up. The flap is cut to a point.  This tucks into a slot created with the Word Window Punch.  The ribbon is stapled onto the flap and tied in a knot.

This is a great little set to play around with and it is a bargain at the moment.  This set is 25% off so you can grab it for only $16.46.  You have to be quick though.  Some of these retiring items have sold out already.   Have you checked out the retiring list yet??  If not, then check it out here.   Don’t wait around though, these items don’t last long.  Contact me to place your order if you don’t have a local demonstrator.

We did make another card at last week’s class but I will show you that next time.  That’s enough from me today.

Have a good weekend.  It looks like it is going to be a wet one here this weekend.  Mmm, maybe some stamping time!!!!

Stop by again soon,

CHOCOLATE EMERGENCY KIT!!

I can’t believe that we only have 2 days left for the Autumn Mini Catalogue.  These past few months have simply flown by.  When I was going through my photos I discovered I hadn’t shown you this little treat bag.  I made these up for all my lovely guests at the Autumn Mini Launch way back in April.  (See I am dragging the chain here!)  I just have to show you these because I thought they were really cute and a fun project to make up for a friend. Of course, you would probably add a few more M&M’s!!!  This is the ‘Chocolate Survival Kit’.

This is using the ‘Eat Chocolate’ set.  I have stamped it in Chocolate Chip (what else would you stamp it in!!!).  This was punched out with the wide Oval Punch. Then it was adhered to a tag from ‘Lots of Tags’ die using the “Autumn Spice” Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I just added it all to a bag topper from Chocolate Chip Cardstock.  I discovered this verse on SplitcoastStampers and just had to add it to the back.

I think we would all be suffering these symptons all at once just so we can eat the whole bag!!!

Now don’t miss out on any of the goodies in the Autumn Mini Catalogue.  Time is running out.  If you haven’t got a local demonstrator then you can contact me.  Also, finishing on Sunday is the Ribbon Bundle Special.  This is the Ice Cream Parlour Ribbon and co-ordinating buttons that you can receive for FREE when you place an order of $100 or more.  So hurry get your order in!

Have a good weekend.  I think the sun is meant to shine all weekend here which will be a nice change 🙂

Thanks for visiting!

ALL ABOUT THE BOX!!

Last post I showed you the Black and White box I created for the Just Add Ink Challenge this week.  I thought I would show you now how I put all the elements together.  (As if you really want to know!!!)

This is the box.

A Black and White Box!!

I will go through each part.

BOX:

I used the box template on Keesh’s blog here.  This is how I made it.

Cut your card 21cmx21cm.  On one side score your card at 3cm, 9cm, 12cm and 18cm.  You should have 3cm left on that side.  Turn your card and score at 3cm in on both sides.  Cut all the score lines on the long side up to the score line that runs across.  Fold on your score lines.  (Before you assemble the box you need to stamp/emboss first as I have done.  I will explain that lower down**).  To assemble your box add Sticky Strip or Snail adhesive to the small tabs and adhere them together.

**Before assembling my box I stamped the swirl from Baroque Motifs in versamark and then clear embossed it.  You can see it a bit clearer in this photo.

Close up View.

BOX BAND:

The box band was done in Whisper White card measuring 21cm x 8cm.  I used the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  It was too long to run through all at once, so I placed half the card in the folder and ran it through. Then I turned the card over.  I lined up the last line of dots on the card with the dots on the Embossing Folder and  ran the card through.   I wrapped the card around the box with the ends underneath the box.  I ran some sticky Strip on one end to join them together.

THE FLOWER:

To create the flower I stamped the swirls from ‘Baroque Motifs’ with Staz On on Whisper White card and punched out 3 scallop circles with the 2 1/2″ Scallop circle punch.  I scrunched them up several times to distress them.  I layered them together.  I find the Tombow Glue to be the best to adhere them together.  The whispy black centre was created with the Black Grosgrain ribbon.  Cut a small length of the ribbon.  Grab one end and start pulling a thread.  One end will pull more easily than the other, so if it doesn’t work try the other end.  Once you have a thread then grab it and pull for a bit to fray the ends.  Stop before you reach the end!!!!!

Here is a photo to give you an idea.

I used a glue dot to stick the end of the ribbon into the centre of the flower.

 RIBBON CURLS:

The white ribbon curls are created with the White Organza ribbon.  Use the heating Tool to GENTLY heat the ribbon.  The heat will make it curl up.  Don’t heat too long or it will melt the ribbon.  (How do I know that!!!! LOL).

Here is a picture to show you it curling up.

I did 3 short lengths and adhered them on top of the band with Sticky Strip before adding the flower.

ASSEMBLING:

I assembled everything directly onto the band.  First the ribbon curls, then some black leaves punched from the 2-step bird punch, then the flower.  The tags were created from the set “Lots of Tags” stamped in Basic Black and punched out with the tiny tags punch.  I tied them with cotton thread and adhered them with a glue dot just under the flower.

There you have it.  I think I included all the parts.  Have fun creating your own.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for stopping by,

IT’S A BLACK AND WHITE BOX FOR JAI #71

I haven’t done a Just Add Ink Challenge for a while, although I do check it out every week.   When I saw it was a Black and White Colour Challenge I thought I would give it a go.  Black and White is not the usual colours I use but I think it can look very elegant together.  I thought about a few different ideas and thought about a few things I have wanted to try for a while AND I haven’t done any 3D projects in simply ages!!    So this idea came to me.  It took me a while to pull together today but here is my entry for the JAI challenge for this week.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I had to dust off ‘Baroque Motifs’.  I haven’t used that set for a very long time. There are a lot of different elements to this box and I don’t have time to explain them all now.  I just wanted to get this posted to enter in to the challenge but stop by in the next day or two and I will go through it all.

I hope you like????  🙂

“CREATING UP A STORM”

I am just managing to get back here now.  I can’t believe where this past week has gone.  There has been so many ups and downs along the way. This weekend has been extremely busy too.  But, I am here now and can show you some of the creations from our stamping weekend last weekend.   It was amazing how much we created in 2 days.  (It does help when you stay up to the wee hours of the morning!!).

Since there were so many projects I am going to show you them in two posts.  I will put them in a slideshow for you.  (For those who subscribe to my blog, I don’t think it will come through as a slide show.  It will show the individual photos.  If you want to see the slide show just head over to my blog).  Today I will show you all the Make and Take projects we did that was shared by everyone there.  Next time I will show you all the challenge and CASE cards we did.

You can see my ‘Treat Box’ Make and Take in the previous post.
