SANTA’S HAT WITH THE EVERYDAY ARCHES DIES

Getting in to the Christmas creating – well trying to anyway …

This one is with the Santa’s Hat Stamp Set. It’s a nice easy stamp set to use being a 2-step set. You don’t need to colour the hat. There is the solid inside image you can use. Of course if you love colouring don’t let that stop by. You can colour the hat yourself.

For this one I used the Everyday Arches Dies and had them running in a landscape way. The larger arch was diecut from the Timeless Christmas paper and the white card is embossed with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder (now retired).

So get a little Ho, Ho, Ho on this year with some easy cards. I like this fun set. Easy to stamp away. You do need to fussy cut the hat yourself if you want to raise it. It is very simple to cut out and raising it up adds extra dimension to your cards. Which is good.

SHINING STARS FOR OCTOBER PRODUCT OF THE MONTH ~

October brings Shining Stars Dies for this month’s Product of the Month.

There are 23 Dies of varying sizes that you can layer together. The largest die measuring 13.3cm x 13.3cm or 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″. There are numerous small dies so you can diecut them out at one time. 4 Dies have stitched edges.

These dies would be so versatile for all kinds of projects. Cardmaking, Memory Keeping, Decor. And for so many occasions. Birthdays for any age, Baby, Christmas. Good timing with Christmas coming up.

FALLING LEAVES WITH THE STAMPIN’ UP! FRAMED VIOLETS

It’s been a while since I have shown you a Violets card. This one is a falling leaves one.

For this card I didn’t add the Violets as diecuts or stamped ones. I added 3 diecut leaves. The little purple flower is one from the Framed Violets Dies set and I added colour to the centre with some ink. If you tie a little twine bow behind the flower it can help highlight the tiny flower.

You could substitute this idea with other leaves and little flowers though if you didn’t have the violets – if you wanted to.

At the bottom of the card I added a wider strip of the Violet Dreams paper and then a smaller strip just behind it sitting above there.

Maybe these ideas could help you creating a card even if you don’t have the violets.

THREE SQUARES WITH THE POETIC PETALS DIES

Back with the Poetic Petals. This was one of the first cards I made with these dies.

I have to say this was a redo of the first one though.

I wasn’t happy with how it had turned out so I ripped off the pieces and put the card together again. This time put the flowers and squares on a white card mat rather than the patterned paper mat I had it on. The flowers and squares showed up much better. I coloured the flowers with the Pencils. The white card was embossed with the Softly Woven Embossing Folder.

SWEET SUNDAY WITH SANTA’S HAT ~

Sweet Sunday, or I’m calling it Santa Sunday maybe.

This week I have been creating with the new Santa’s Hat stamp set.

This is one of the cards.

This is a really simple 2 step stamp set. It has the Santa hat outline and the “fill-in” stamp that colours the hat. I like how it gets all the right shading in the hat. I couldn’t colour it like this.

It has some fun Christmas greeting stamps too. I diecut this one with the retired Mixed Labels Dies. The Poppy Parade card mat is embossed with the Softly Woven Embossing Folder which is a new one.

STAMPIN’ UP! POETIC PETALS DIES AND SQUARES

I have been creating quite a bit with the Poetic Petals Dies. This is one of the cards I have made recently. I wanted to check out how they diecut and come together. I will mention more of that below.

To finish the card I added a little texture with the Tree Rings Embossing Folder and a Berry Burst Card mat for the flowers using the Tile Garden Dies.

With the Poetic Petals Dies you have 3 different flower designs that diecut the centre out. You can layer them with the square dies. Each of the square dies have a different edging too. One is a straight line, one a “dotted” edge and the other is more of a small dash type edge.

You can just use those squares but for this card I layered them with one of the Tile Garden Dies. They work well with them I think. On these dies there are different edges on these squares. The largest of these dies measure 9.8cm x 9.8cm or 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″. If you like the Spotlight on Nature circle dies you will love these. They are the same type of edges. I love that we have layering squares of these now too.

STAMPIN’ UP! VIOLET DREAMS – 2 FOR 1 CARDS

I have been creating recently with the Framed Violets Bundle and the gorgeous Violet Dreams Specialty Paper.

I created the first one diecutting the scalloped oval from the paper and adding more of the paper with the black dotted print behind it. The flower is one of the black pre-printed diecuts in the pack and I coloured it with the Stampin’ Blends.

BUT, don’t waste that oval diecut. I then added it to another card.

On this card I embossed just half the card with the Soft Waves Embossing Folder. To do this add the card in just to halfway and emboss as usual. It can leave a slight mark but you can add ribbon or a strip of card or paper to cover that if it bothers you. I like that it leaves a smooth area to stamp your sentiment.

Then the paper oval was added with Dimensionals and I coloured one of the black diecuts with the Stampin’ Blends on this one too.

The Violet Dreams Suite is a very pretty one. And did I mention that paper that has the pretty diecuts in?? Many are already coloured which is good for me and some are black and white. So easy to add to your cards.

SWEET SUNDAY WITH THE BIRTHDAY SONG

Sweet Sunday with this bunch of happy characters. This is with the Birthday Song Stamp Set.

This card was created by Stampin’ Up! artists but I just had to show you.

I like how all the elements went together. I couldn’t work out the “sea” though. Then I found it is paper from the Waterside Retreat Paper Pack. Clever… The background sky is from that pack too. It’s good to look at your paper in different ways. It really forms a big part of the scene on this one.

The characters are colours so well though too. These ones have been lightly watercoloured with the Ink Pads and Water Brush.

DOUBLE DUTCH FUN FOLD CARD + VIDEO

I have a fun card for you today. It might look hard but really it’s not!!

This is a Double Dutch Fold Card. Some might call it a Farm Door card. It goes by other names too.

I used the Glow of Harvest Paper for this one. This is the Product of the Month item you can choose. You can use whatever paper you like.

Time for some Hidden Gems. Sometimes these products get a little lost on the store front but it’s good to let them shine.
