GEARED UP GARAGE WEEK – TOOL BOX BIRTHDAY!

This card uses the Geared Up Garage Suite and was a quick one to put together.

There are a couple of things I would change if I did this card again but hey! it’s for the blokes (so that is slang for the men).  Don’t be hard on yourself when you make a card for them.  They don’t really care. It’s got a car and it’s got tools.  It’s even got ribbon! Yes! even ribbon (the Black/Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon) on the men’s cards.

Once again like the last card,  I chose not to colour it so stamped the car on Crushed Curry card and cut it with the Garage Gears Thinlits.

See them and order -> HERE in my store. Please use the  Host Code: P3TZFUNA

See you again with another card for the boys using this suite,

DAPPER HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I know I have been sharing lots of Christmas cards recently but there is still so much gorgeous-ness in the Annual Catalogue.  This card I made a few months ago and  I realised I hadn’t shared it with you yet.  I get lots of comments at my classes about this card.

This card uses the Happy Birthday Thinlits with the Color Theory Paper Stack.  You really don’t need much more.

I cut the Happy Birthday out from Black card and also Whisper White.  Then adhered them together and slightly off-set them so you see the white from behind.  I think the white gives it a little extra POP!.

I adhered the piece from the Color Theory Paper stack to a black mat and then adhered it to the Dapper Denim card base.  I stamped the balloon from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous set straight on to the DSP in Dapper Denim. That’s always nerve wracking! Stamp it before you assemble the card in case you make a little mistake. 🙂  Then stamp the balloon again on to scrap White card.  The centre “dots” on the balloon were stamped in Soft Sky.  The balloon was punched out with the Balloon Bouquet Punch and raised up with Dimensionals.   I added a Rhinestone too.  Couldn’t resist. 🙂

This would make a good masculine card I think.  It is not too tizzy even with the bling.

Thanks for visiting.  “See” you again soon,

Jenny

QUICK MULTI STAMPING WITH YOUR STAMPS!

Last post I showed you a card using the Nailed It set and I used the stamps to create a background on your card.  You can go back to the last post to see that if you like but here is the card again.

Now when creating this card I didn’t stamp each tool individually.  I couldn’t get them so evenly spaced!  I thought I would share with you today how I did it quickly and easily.

Rather than ink and stamp each one, add your stamps to one large block and then you can stamp that multiple times over your card.   See below what I mean.

These all fit on the clear block ‘E’.  You can try this with any stampset and make life so much easier on yourself. 🙂

While I had these assembled on the block I created this card.

The stamps were inked in Versarmark and then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on to black card.  Don’t forget to wipe over with your embossing buddy.  While I did do that I still picked up a few stray specks of the embossing but it doesn’t matter right. 🙂

Some Linen Thread was wrapped around the card several times and then I added some strips of the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper to the back of the black card. Before adhering it to the Delightful Dijon base card stamp your screws, bolt and nails with Delightful Dijon ink.  For this I also added all those little stamps to one block to stamp.  The sentiment from the Confetti Celebration stamp set is stamped in Memento black.

The layout of this card was from Freshly Made Sketches #278.

I have just created a little visual for you which I will add to Pinterest.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny

WORLD TRAVELER IN BERMUDA BAY!

When I was creating the other day I thought I would CASE a few cards from the catalogue for my upcoming Launch next week.  This card started out as a CASE of a card on page 39 of the Occasions catalogue.  It took a life of it’s own very quickly though.

This is the original card if you haven’t got your catalogue handy and then I will show you my card – and the thought process that went behind the making of it. 🙂

Occasions16_p39_a

IMG_20160120_175157

When I started to emboss with the World Traveler Embossing Folder I realised that the orientation of the World map on the folder was different to the card, and I didn’t want to double emboss the map to cover the card front. That’s what I would have to do to cover my size card front. I just couldn’t get my head around doing that.  To me that is not how the world map is depicted.  Petty I know but …. ??

So I thought I would change the orientation of my card but that’s when the whole card changed.  I didn’t have the ‘Going Global’ stamp set but I could use ‘Guy Greetings’. That’s all good. But now that it was landscape what was I going to put on the front? It needed more than just a greeting.  I stamped the anchor in Bermuda Bay but I couldn’t have it just floating there. I punched a tag with the Note Tag punch in Delightful Dijon. That colour was chosen after looking at the colours in the ‘Bohemian’ DSP.  I looped up some Linen Thread and tied it in a bow and adhered that on.

The greeting is from ‘Guy Greetings’ and I stamped that on a piece of Whisper White and flagged the ends.  But still it needed something more! I added a strip of the black arrow paper from the ‘It’s My Party’ DSP stack.  It still needed more!  I added just a strip of the silver Foil under the greeting.  I just finished it off by sponging some Bermuda Bay ink over the embossed edges. OK, I think it was done now. I was going to brush over some Wink Of Stella in the Clear but decided to leave it.

See how you can take a card and use it as a springboard to create a completely different card.  Sometimes you just need a little inspiration to get it going.

I hope I didn’t bore you with the whole creating process of this card.  It just shows you what goes into creating at times.  Maybe that will help you when you are in a rut.

Thanks for visiting today,

Jenny

MONEY HOLDER FOR THE BOYS!

Hope life is going well in your corner of the world??  Here it is cold and windy – but I guess you have to expect that for this time of year.  Yesterday was my gorgeous boy’s 18th Birthday.  I can’t believe how the time has flown.  I thought I would show you the card and gift I made for him.

You might recognise the card???

P1130120

I used this card for my Convention swap a few month’s ago.  Josh loves vinyl records so thought this idea would be really cool for him.  I used the Circle Thinlets Die to cut the Smoky Slate card base.  I used the Music Notes wheel (now retired) to run over the card in Black Stazon.  The black circle was punched with the 2 1/2″ circle Punch and the white inner circle was punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle.  The small black circle was punched with the 2 step Owl Punch.  The ‘YAY’ is cut from Real Red card using the little extras in the Circle Thinlets set.  I could have used the Chevrons in the set too but these ones were punched with the Chevron Border punch.  The ’18’ is cut using the ‘Timeless Type’ Die (now retired).   I stamped the streaks in Smoky Slate from ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ too.

Here is a close-up.  Josh thought it was pretty cool and even at 18 had fun flipping it! 😉

P1130123

Here is the inside with just a simple “Happy Birthday” from ‘Fabulous Phrases’.

P1130127

I forgot to take a photo of the Money Holder on it’s own but you can see it in the photo at the top. For this I followed the theme of the Vinyl Record.  I stamped over the front of the card using the streaks and splodges from ‘Gorgeous Grunge’.  The stars were punched from the new ‘Itty Bitty Accents’ pack and the greeting is from ‘Label Love’.  Here is the inside of the Money Holder.  I added some more streaks and stars.

P1130125

I will give you directions so you can make your own Money Holder.  They can just add a little extra to the gift rather than just adding it inside the card.  I didn’t take step-by-step photos but I think it is fairly straight forward  – I hope 🙂

MONEY HOLDER   (The finished pocket is 16cm long)

I thought I would just stop by with a quick one today to show you all my swaps I received in return at the Stampin’ Up! Convention recently.  I tried to group them together to make it easier and I am not going to say too much about them.  There are some fantastic swaps and certainly ideas to keep me going for a while I think.

“21ST PIANO”

I can finally show you this card.  It was my nephew’s 21st last week and we only got to see him today.  He is quite the musician so I thought this card was just the thing for him.  I have made this card before quite some time back.

P1070977

The card base is cut with the Top Note Die.  Place the fold of the card just inside the side edge on the die so it won’t cut through.  I cut a second piece and cut it smaller to create a layer on the front to slip the Word Window punched “Keys”.  The ’21’ is cut from Silver Glimmer Paper and layered on the Whisper White flagged card strip.  The little black “dots” are Adhesive Rhinestones that I coloured with black permanent Marker.  I think it was well received today.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today.  I have been playing “Dress Ups”  today.  No I didn’t dress up in funny clothes.  I will show you shortly!!

A MASCULINE 50TH!

Last week I needed to create a 50th Birthday card for my Brother-in-law.  What to do???  Masculine cards are always a dilemma.  I went through my “saved card ideas”.  We all have one (or more) of those files don’t we??  The layout was inspired by this card by Debra Currier.  Of course I couldn’t use Extreme Elements now but ‘Clockworks’ was a good substitute.  A racy red sportscar is a good addition for a 50th.  Unfortunately it wasn’t a real one though! 🙂  The ’50’ was done on the Bigshot with ‘Timeless Type Alphabet’ now retired.  I punched a circle with the large circle on the Owl punch and punched a centre hole with a small hole punch.  I threaded some Linen Thread through it to create a tag.  The edge of the tag was sponged with ink.

P1070583

While I was on a roll I created a similar card to use for another Male Birthday.  They can always come in handy.  This time I used the “Wish Big” from ‘Word Play’.

P1070584

Here are the 2 together.  I did use Sahara Sand on both these cards but they do look a little different.  Possibly the lighting – or my bad photography!

P1070582

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a good day.  I hope my Aussie friends are surviving the heat.  It has been hot and looks like it will continue all week.  Stay cool 🙂

“MEMORABLE MOMENTS 50TH”

Have you checked out the new Catalogues yet???  There is some great things in there, isn’t there?? Oh, what to choose first!  I have put the links to the Catalogues in my sidebar so you can click on there and check it all out Online if you haven’t already had a chance to.  Why not get your very own copy?? Isn’t it nice to lie in bed and drool over that Catalogue?? Although that does effect the sleep as you lie awake dreaming up ideas!  Am I the only one that does that??  If you would like me to send one out to you then drop me a comment and I can get back to you to arrange your very own one to be sent to you.  The Catalogue would cost $12 which includes shipping to anywhere in Australia.

Anyway, you have come here to check out cards not read about my ramblings.  Here is a card I created a couple of weeks ago.

I wanted to play around with the Core’dinations Cardstock.  This is really cool stuff.  I have embossed it with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and then sanded it lightly with the ‘new’ sanding system.  The paper strips are from the DSP pack ‘Patio Party’.  I have stamped on the leaf image from ‘Just Believe’ in Crumb Cake onto the Card base.  I stamped the Framelit border from ‘Memorable Moments’ and cut it with the Framelits die.  Happy Birthday is stamped in Crumb Cake and the ’50th’ is stamped in the new In-Color Midnight Muse.  I added a Vintage Brad to finish it off.

I think this set ‘Memorable Moments’ will be very useful.  How many times do you need a numbered birthday and this set has the ‘nd’, ‘th’, ‘st’ and ‘rd’ that you quite often need!

I did enjoy making this card and playing around with my new toys.  I have lots to show you.  I have been creating up a storm over the last couple of weeks.  I have my BIG Catalogue Launch and Stamp sale on tomorrow so I will show you these next week.  It is going to be a big day tomorrow with 18 ladies coming along, but it is always fun stamping with friends.

Thanks for stopping by,

“GOOD-BYE EXTREME ELEMENTS!”

This is another stamp set I am very sad to say Good-Bye too.  I think this is a fantastic set for those ‘hard-to-do’ male cards.  I have used it SO much.  Here is a card we did probably late last year now but I don’t think I have shown it to you.

Card: More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White.

Ink: More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black.

Stamps: Extreme Elements, Happiest Birthday Wishes.

Other: Curly Label Punch, Twine, Cutting Kit (for distressing).

This is a quick card to whip up for those boys in your life.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back and visit again soon.  (Don’t forget to leave a comment and say ‘Hi’.  It’s always nice to know you have been).
