A TREAT BOX!

I have just had THE best weekend away at our ‘Convention’ weekend. A group of us couldn’t go to the ‘real’ Stampin’ Up! convention in Melbourne this weekend, so we organised our own.  We had Make and Takes, Prize Patrol, even our Night of Nights Awards Ceremony and disco. It was such a great time.  Not a lot of sleep and maybe a bit too much food.  But, lots of creating and laughs.  I will show you some highlights and the projects over this week.

I thought I would show you my Make and Take I did.  Leonie asked me to show everyone how to make this treat box.  I made one at Easter time and have changed the colours for this one.

You can find these at Splitcoast Stampers here. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/treat_box/  (Sorry my links aren’t working properly at the moment.  I need to look in to that!)

They are so easy to make.  You can create them any size as long as you start with your base cardstock as a square.  Mine measures 21cm x 21cm.  I scored mine at 7cm and 14cm on one side and then turned my card 1/4 turn and scored at 7cm and 14 cm again.  Each of the corner squares are scored on the diagonal.  Check the tutorial if you are not sure.

This would be a good box to fill for the ‘boys’ in your life.  I used Extreme Elements set which is a great one for the boys. I used Pacific Point (which I don’t use a lot but I think it looks ok in this) with Pumpkin Pie and Certainly Celery.  I ran a piece of Pumpkin Pie card through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and then punched out a star for the front.  The sentiments are from ‘Teeny Tiny Sentiments’.

Here is a view from the top.  I just tied off the box with twine and added a tag too.

Give these a try.  They are too easy!

Stop by again soon to see some more projects.

BUNNY IN A HURRY!!

Carlie came home from school yesterday and told me they were having an Easter Hat parade TODAY!!!  Although Easter is not for another 2 weeks, school holidays start here from today.  Nothing like leaving it until the last minute!  I didn’t have any time to go to the shops, Carlie used most of the cotton wool balls on her last creation, so I didn’t know what I was going to do.  I was beginning to think of bunny ears on a headband!! At 8.30 last night I really wasn’t feeling very creative.  Then, inspiration hit and I whipped up this very quickly.

My buddy Leonie showed me these great punch bunnies recently.  Thanks Leonie your a life saver 🙂  I made one up and stuck it on the front of a party hat.  Then I punched out some ovals from some scrap designer paper I had lying around.  I sponged the edges and put them around the hat to create eggs.  I fringed a strip of green paper (non-Stampin’ Up!) and stuck this around the hat for grass. Carlie was happy with it when she saw it this morning and at least she had something to wear!

I have some more cupcake creations to show you so I will get back to that now.  I just had to show you this.

PUNCH BUNCH GIFT BOX AND CARDS!!

I recently had my Punch Bunch Gift box class.  I can now finally get around to showing you.  I used the Sale-A-Bration set ‘Punch Bunch’  and created this little box big enough to fit 4 3″x3″ cards.  These were a lot of fun to put together.  I used Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Whisper White to create them.

This is the box with the cards in them.

I will give you instructions for the box at the end.  This box was inspired by a box on our Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator website.  I adjusted it to fit these little cards in.  On the box I created a little window by punching out the front with the 1 3/4″ circle punch.  (Do this before you assemble the box!!).  I thought it was nice to have the window.  No matter what card you have at the front it shows through.  I had stamped over the box with the flower from ‘Bliss’ Sale-A-Bration set.  For the flowers on the front I used markers to colour the flower on the ‘For You’ stamp.  After stamping I cut them out.  They were adhered to the front after wrapping around some narrow taffeta Old Olive ribbon.  You can’t really tell but I added some bling to the flower with the 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds.

Here is the box with all the cards showing.  I will show you the cards close-up below.

For the cards I used the Big Shot and various punches.

Here are the instructions for this cute Window Box.

Cut card 19cmx14cm.  On the 19cm side, score at 8cm and 11cm.  On the 14cm side, score at 3cm and 11cm.  Fold on all the score lines.  Cut the small score lines on the long side up to the score line running across.   (Remember to stamp your box and punch the circle before assembling).  Add Sticky Strip on the side tabs and small tab and assemble.

I hope these are clear enough.  Email me if you have any problems. 🙂

Have you got your Free Punch Bunch set yet, or any of the other Sale-A-Bration sets??? You only have 2 weeks left, so get to it.  You can select any of the Sale-A-Bration sets with a $100 order, or have a workshop and when your sales are over $600 you can select another SAB set for FREE.  See your demonstrator, or if you don’t have one you can contact me and I can have it shipped anywhere in Australia.

Have fun creating your own box and cards.  Until next time, Happy Stamping!!

BLISS BOX AND CARD!

On Saturday I held my Sale-A-Bration Kick-Off event to start the new year of stamping.  It was a great day with some lovely ladies.  I think they enjoyed their stamping????  This is the project I put together for them.

I have used the Sale-A-Bration set ‘Bliss’.  I love that set, it is so versatile.  I used the lovely rich Cherry Cobbler and Regal Rose.  This is the box.

This is just a little narrow box as you can see in the photo below.  Just the size to put some small love note size cards or something simlar.

The original box came from a USTAMP project a few years ago.  I modified it a little to fit our card size so I could get 2 per sheet.  On the front of the box we scalloped the edge of the Regal Rose card with the scallop trim punch.  On the Whisper White card, I sponged the edges of the card with the Regal Rose ink.  The flourish from the set was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  The butterflies for the box and the card were stamped in scrap card in Regal Rose and then rock and rolled in Cherry Cobbler.  These were cut and raised up with dimensionals.  The little tags were made with the Tiny Tags set.  The flourish from that set was stamped in Regal Rose on the white and Cherry Cobbler on the Regal Rose.  The greeting was stamped on the white.  They were punched out and layered and raised up with the dimensionals.  Phew!  That’s a mouthful!  Does that all make sense???  Here is a close up to see that clearer.

To add the bling I added a Rhinestone to the centre of the flourish and the edge of the tags.

The card was similar to the box with the flourish and 2 butterflies.  The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  Here is a close up of the card.

I had made up a similar box in different colours for the lucky Door Prize.

I used Elegant Eggplant cardstock and Lap of Luxury DSP.  The tag was made using the “For You” Flower from the Sale-A-Bration set “Punch Bunch.  It was first stamped in Elegant Eggplant and then stamped again in Pretty in Pink.  I cut the one flower out and raised it up with dimensionals.  This was punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle then matted with a 1 3/8” circle in Elegant Eggplant and I then punched out a scallop circle in Pretty in Pink.  I added some Dazzling Diamonds for a bit of bling.

Ok, I hope I didn’t bore you too much with all those details.  It was a fun day and I’m looking forward to more stamping with my friends soon.  Right now, I’m getting off here.  It is such a hot day here today.  The summer weather has arrived just when all the kids go back to school today.

See you soon,

Jenny xx

A SCALLOP SQUARE BOX AND CARDS!

I can now show you the other project we did at our Stamping day last week.  I know, I am a little behind at the moment!  Leonie showed us this cute little  box.  You can see them here on Leonie’s blog.  She got the instructions from Holly.

They are made with the Scallop Square Die.  They make up such a cute gift.  I am keen to make up some more and to make some with the scallop circle Die.

I have used the set “Just Believe” and used Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze.

I have to get to bed now.  Why do I stay up so late???

I hope you visit again soon,

Jenny

A ‘SKINNY’ TREAT BAG!

I can’t say that the content of these bags would make you skinny, but the bags are called clear skinny bags I managed to get from the US.  You can get them through clearbags.com.

We made these in my Gift Packaging Class a couple of weeks ago.  You can decorate them anyway you like to give as little treats for someone.

Here is a close-up of the Topper.

For this I have used Elements of Style, Party This Way and Lots of Tags.  Can you pick them?  I have also used the large scallop circle punch from the Summer Mini which has been withdrawn at the moment.

This is the other bag using ‘Perfect Punches’

Not the best photo – sorry!

I best be off.  I still have presents to wrap and things to do.  Christmas is only 4 sleeps away.

ANOTHER CHRISTMAS BAG!

Here is another Gift bag I have been making recently.  This bag was inspired by one in our monthly Demonstrator magazine recently.  I set about to recreate it.  I will give you the instructions below.

I have used the Jolly Holiday DSP and then used the Delightful Decorations stamp set and the punch to decorate it.  I added some Rhinestones in the middle of the ornaments.  To seal the bag I punched out a scallop oval from Old Olive and an oval from Cherry Cobbler.  I adhered these together and attached them to the bag.  You can use a velcro dot to the front so it is easy to open and close to get the goodies out!!!

I had made another one previously to this Christmas bag using the DSP Lap of Luxury.  I punched 2 butterflies, one from the DSP and another stamped from the Hostess set ‘Punch Potpourri’.  These were adhered to the front and a Rhinestone added to the centre.  To close this bag I punched out a piece with the small Oval punch from Pretty in Pink and used a glue dot for this one. I just changed this yesterday and  added a bow with the Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon.  I also added some tags with the Tiny Tags.  One from the DSP and one stamped on Pretty in Pink.  These were punched out and tied on with Hemp Twine.  I really liked how this turned out!

You can decorate these any way you like.  It is better to use DSP for them though as they bend easier than card.

Here are the instructions to create these cute bags:

Cut DSP to 28cmx14cm.  Score on the 14cm side at 5cm.  Turn and score on the 28cm side at 8cm, 13cm, 21cm, 26cm.

Cut on the score lines along the long side up to the 5cm score line.  You can cut off the small tab at the end.  Add adhesive to the bottom tabs (on the right side of the 2 small tabs and on 1 of the large tabs), and to the narrow side tab (on the wrong side).  Does that make sense?  Assemble the bag together.  Pinch the sides in.  To seal you can use a velcro dot.  Decorate as desired.

These are very quick to make.  So you have no excuse not to make any of these to put little treats in!

I’VE BEEN MAKING BAGS!

I have been making up a few different Christmas bags recently.  This one I showed at some Christmas workshops.  It is a very simple Scallop Circle Bag.

I cut 2 Scallop Circles with the Big Shot from Jolly Holiday DSP.  I cut off 10 scallops across the bottom to create a flat edge.  To create the box inside I cut card 15cmx10cm.  (I cut this from Cherry Cobbler but sorry you can’t see that!)  On the 15cm side I scored it at 3cm and 9cm.  On the 10cm side score at 3cm and 7cm.  Cut up on the score lines on 2 opposite sides until it reaches the score line running across.  Place adhesive on these tabs and assemble.

For the bag: Punch ovals from the scallop circle before assembling, it is much easier.  I found it helped to add some dotto to the scallop circles to hold them together and punch them out together.  That way the ovals line up.  Place Sticky Strip on the wrong side of the DSP.  Then adhere them to the box.   I found it easiest to lay these pieces with the Sticky Strip facing up and lining up the bottom edge of the box with the straight edge of the scallop circle.  Does that make sense???

The ‘Joy at Christmas’ is from Perfect Punches set.  I punched the circle with the 1 3/8″ punch and then punched a scallop circle from Old Olive which I sponged the edge with Old Olive ink.  I adhered this to the bag with mounting tape and added a  Rhinestone.  I then tied on some Old Olive ribbon.  This is a nice size for some choccies or a gift card for Christmas.

I have some other bags for you that I will show you next time so pop back soon!

MAKE SOME CHRISTMAS BON BONS!

I have been making some Christmas Bon Bons lately. These are so easy to make.  You can whip a few up for you Christmas festivities.

I found the original instructions here.  I will give you the Metric measurements below to help you out.  On the one above I used the Jolly Holiday DSP.  The tags are created with the set ‘Tiny Tags’.  I frayed the Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon, but not sure about that effect!  The next one is using the reverse side of this DSP.  I tied bows around the ends from the Real Red Taffeta ribbon.  I think it is missing a tag though!

BON BON MEASUREMENTS:

Cut paper 15cmx15cm.  Score one side at 3.2cm, 6.5cm, 9.5cm and 12.5cm.

Turn and score the other side at 3cm and 12cm.

You can follow along with the photo instructions found in the tutorial.  Just a note:  I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes on the score lines rather than the small square punch.  AND, Don’t forget to fill it BEFORE you seal it up!!!  If you have any trouble following the instructions you can drop me an email and ask.

There is still a couple of weeks left before Christmas to put a few of these together. So, get to work.   I do hope things are not getting too frantic for you with all the last minute shopping and creating.  I still have quite a bit to do myself and there are only 3 days of school left!  I did have big plans to make a few presents this year, but I’m not sure if that is going to happen.

Pop back again soon and I will show you some more Christmas projects.
