SUNDAY SUITES – MAGNOLIA LANE!

It’s Sunday Suites time.  Since I have been talking Magnolias I thought it was good opportunity to talk about the Magnolia Lane Suite.  It has been very popular and I don’t know about you but I have been seeing these magnolias popping up everywhere.

What about those big punched flowers though?? They are made with the Hot Air Balloon Punch.  Clever right!

The Magnolia Lane Suite Bundle gives you a coordinating selection of products with one simple purchase. It includes the stamp set and tool bundle at 10% off plus one each of the other items listed.

In total it is $234.75. You do get a lot in that bundle.  See it in my store -> HERE.

The Magnolia Lane Suite Bundle includes
* Good Morning Magnolia Cling Stamp Set
* Magnolia Memory Dies
* Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder
* Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper
* Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes
* Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card Pack
* Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack
* Magnolia Lane Cork Embellishments
* Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack

You need to have a closer look at the paper though.  The colours in it are Basic Black, Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, So Saffron, Whisper White.

What I also really love in this suite is the Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder.  So gorgeous.  $17 AUD

You don’t need to do much more when adding it to a card.

Or you can colour it.  I think this is coloured with the Inkpads and Aquapainter.

I love this effect.  Stamp the flower on Crumb Cake card and colour it with a white pencil or the White ink.  Stunning!

It’s gorgeous using it for little gift boxes too.

Are you in love?  It is so nice.

You can order it now in my store.  Grab the full Suite Bundle with one item code or order just one or 2 individual products.

Head to my store now -> HERE.  Please use the Host Code: 6F6336UW

Thanks for visiting me today,

MINI MOSSY MAGNOLIA CARD!

You have probably seen a lot of Magnolia cards around the internet.  It’s quite a popular one and rightly so.  This Good Morning Magnolia bundle is very gorgeous.  But have you noticed the smaller version – the Magnolia Blooms set?  It is a very gorgeous little sister.  I have been playing with this set a bit recently.

I wanted to show you this Mini card we made last weekend.  I was at a Craft Show last weekend and this was the Make and Take card that everyone got to make that stopped by my stand.  It is a simple card with little stamping but very effective I think.

This mini card is about 10cm x 10cm (3″x 3″).  Each layer is 4mm (1/8″) smaller in size.

Being a quick card I didn’t want people to be colouring the flowers in.  There wasn’t time for that and for beginner’s that can be challenging.  The small magnolia flower was stamped on the Petal Pink card mat in Mossy Meadow twice on the left hand edge.  Reinking the stamp each time before stamping.  The sentiment is stamped in Memento Black ink.

The paper strip is from the Good Morning Magnolia Designer Series Paper Stack.  It was all adhered together and of course – add some bling. 🙂

Simple but sweet.

The Magnolia Blooms set is not found in the Annual Catalogue.  It can be found in the smaller Experience Creativity brochure which is aimed for new stampers.  It’s a great little stamp set and what else is great?? The price.  $24.  How awesome is that!

You can find this set in my store though too.  Find it -> HERE and add it to your collection. Please use the Host Code: 6F6336UW

You won’t be sorry.  It has a lovely simple flower and a smaller bud and the little leaf.  What I also love is the sentiments.  These are such useful sentiments for lots of different occasions.  I hope you grab it.  I will share more with it over the next days and weeks.

Thanks for visiting,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #81 – TIPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHING YOUR PROJECTS!

Wednesday’s WOW! #81.  I have an interesting post for you today.  Well I hope it is interesting. I have some helpful tips when photographing your projects.

Maybe you just want to take a quick snap of your project for your own record but perhaps you want to have a little more quality in the photos you take of your projects.  In the Stamping Around the World Tutorial Group I am on, Stefanie (one of the group members) has compiled some helpful tips.  Each of us contributed in providing a tip that we use when we take our own photos to share on our blogs and other social media platforms.

This is my tip that I shared.

When I take photos of my projects I don’t have a fancy lightbox.  I use 2 pieces of the large White Core Board.  One on the bottom and one on the back.  I do use a timber look placemat on the bottom as well.  The white board on the back is good for reflecting the light.  Sometimes I do have 2 small lights that project on to the boards to lighten them more.

After I take the photo I upload it to my computer and then edit them on a program although this one above was done on my phone to get it done for this particular post.

I crop, resize the photo and adjust the lighting.  This is all done in a few minutes.  Most times too I will edit a batch of photos in one sitting to be ready for upcoming blog posts.

This photo below was the photo of this card after editing which I posted to my blog a few weeks ago.  So you can see what the final look is.  I have very little of the core board showing afterwards but it does help with the light.

The watermark is different on the card above as I had to retake the card for the post this week and edit it on my phone.

There were lots of other great tips shared too. I will give you a brief summary here but then you can head to Stefanie’s blog post to get the full details rather than me relay everything.

Tips like:

  • Use contact or wallpaper as a fun background.  (Like I have used the timber look placemat).
  • Scatter multiple pieces of the project or a number of projects around to get a different effect.
  • Use props to create interest.
  • Stand the card up to show more details.
  • Get in close to take the photo.

Do you want to see more?  Head to Stefanie’s Blog -> HERE to read her detailed tips on lighting and see more tips shared.

I hope these are helpful when taking your own photos.

WHY I LOVE BEING A STAMPIN’ UP! DEMONSTRATOR!

I have a little personal post for you today.  Well kind of.  I celebrated 11 years as a Demonstrator last week.  That is just crazy!

It made me think about this journey I have been on.  I shared this with some people on my newsletter list but I thought I would share it with you – because you are all important to me too in this crazy, fun, unpredictable, messy, emotional (yes!) journey I am on.  (I have changed it a little just for you).

So I hope you will indulge me.

I joined Stampin’ Up! in August 2008. This 11 years as a Demonstrator has certainly flown.  I have to say there has been ups and downs along the way but overall I have loved it.

Most of all, I have loved meeting so many people and making friends just like you. Now I have so many friends close by and from around the world.  I wouldn’t have met all these lovely people if it wasn’t for Stampin’ Up!

It’s crazy to think that stamps and ink can bring people close together.

For me I had always set out to make this a business to add to the income for my family and to work it around time with them.  That was such a blessing at the time, and it still is great being so flexible.  Even now my children are adults it’s great being able to work around spending time with them when they are at home.

It has really built my self-confidence.  I struggle talking with people but it has helped me being able to connect with like-minded people and being able to encourage them in their creative endeavours.  For that I am so grateful for.

Whether it is face-to-face or through my blog or other social media I hope that I can encourage each of you to create and to share.  This is what brings a smile to my face and gives me great joy.

But how fun is to play with stamps and paper everyday! Just sayin’ 😉

I will tell you my biggest regret though – is that I didn’t start this journey earlier.  I deliberated for 18 months before I joined although there was some other personal reasons for the delay too.  but how many more people I could have met and to have so much more discount early on.  All the learning and exploring too.  But to finally take the plunge was so exciting.

Apart from celebrating my 11 years I wanted to let you know why I have joined Stampin’ Up! and why I am still here even with the challenges that come with products and supply.  That’s not what it is entirely about.  But have you considered joining Stampin’ Up! and still have reservations??  What are you waiting for??

If you are in Australia you can join in this with me and – get the discount for yourself. (Don’t put it off like I did). Even if you don’t plan to work at it as a business. And don’t feel once you sign up you are “stuck” in it for ever. You can leave anytime.  (And BTW if you are overseas and considering it why not seek out a local demonstrator for you to start enjoying this too).

Even if being part of Stampin’ Up! is not as a business for you, the discount is such a blessing to off-set those stamping purchases.  Maybe more stamping supplies with it … 😉  And meeting all those new friends. Don’t forget that part of it.

There is a great opportunity this month so I wouldn’t delay it any longer.  There is only one week left. Read about it all below.EXTRA, EXTRA!

During July and August there has been an awesome promotion inviting others like yourself to join Stampin’ Up!  I want you to have all this opportunity yourself.

I want you to experience that discount and to have the opportunity to connect with others too.

With this promotion time is running out.  You have less than one week.  Don’t be like me and put it off.  Seriously.  You can’t lose.  Just give it a go.

Stampin’ Up! are giving away so many free products at the moment. (In fact $111 of free products and then an extra $16 voucher!). (This is Australian figures).

Really you need to know about this.

I am sure you have a long Wish List yourself of Stampin’ Up! products.  Is it more than $169? Why pay more than $169 right!!

Come and join the Stampin’ Up! family. Come and join the JEN’s INK team and get so many extra products PLUS an extra $16 voucher to use in September.

***In total you are getting $127 of free products. Seriously! are you going to knock that back??

When you join the Stampin’ Up! family you are not just getting LOTS of extra free products.

Just like I have already mentioned. You make so many great new friends,  You are inspired by amazing projects in the quarterly Demonstrator magazine, you get to travel to different events throughout the year if you like to, and even get free products along the way… And, you can leave at any time.

Are you up for it??

You can find out more ->HERE.

Or if you have your $280 shopping list ready to go you can join my JEN’s INK team you can head directly -> HERE now.  ‘Click on Join The Fun’

Thanks for sticking with me.  I can’t wait to share more with you in this fun, inky journey.

Have a great day,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #80 – KEEP YOUR DIES SAFE WITH THIS MAGNETIC DIE BOARD!

Wednesday’s WOW! #80.  I have a very useful tip for you today with this Magnetic Die Board.  I thought I had shown you this tip already but apparently not.

In my classes I found that the dies we were using kept going missing.  They would get buried under papers or bits.  They would drop on the floor and disappear.  We spent a lot of time in class looking for them.  Some months ago I came up with this idea.  Since then – no more missing dies.  Everyone knows when they use them they go straight back on the board.  It is such a time-saver and has reduced the stress. 🙂

You might find it useful yourself.  I have it standing near the Big Shot machine and have all the dies on it that we will use in the projects for that class.

How to make one yourself

It’s very easy to make yourself.  I picked up a cheap photo frame from a discount shop.  Opened it up and took out the glass. I cut Magnetic sheets to size and adhered them to a piece of card.  Then inserted them back in the frame without adding the glass though.

Place it near your diecut machine and put the dies on it that you are working on.  For a single project you may not need it but if you are making a large project or a couple at a time then you can store all your dies on it while you are working.

I hope you find this tip useful.

Thanks for visiting me today wherever you are in the world.  I love having you visit and I love sharing my little crafting world with you. ❤

Have a great day,

Jenny

SAILING HOME PAPER BOATS!

Ok.  This is the last for a while.  I have hit you hard with all these nautical cards with the Come Sail Away Suite of products this past week.  I will move on after today.

For this card I wanted to use one of the prints in the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper pack.  I found it well a bit dull.  Can I say that?? I mean it was a dull colour and was like an old newsprint.  I think it was the colour of it that challenged me.  So let’s give it a try. Maybe you feel the same and don’t know what to do with it.

I cut a piece of the paper to a size just a little smaller than your card front.   Then I cut off about 5cm (2″), then flipped that paper piece over and then used the 2 different prints for the front. the join was covered with the diecut “rope”.  Adding a little pop of colour with the Night of Navy and the Real Red certainly lifts it.

The compass was stamped on white and cut out then layered on a little Red scalloped Circle from the Layering circles Dies.  The fun thing with the Smooth Sailing Dies is that there is the little “needle”.  I cut one out from Night of Navy to adhere over the compass.  It gives you a little dimension to it.  I didn’t like the boats just stuck on the front of the card.  They needed a little grounding so I cut a vellum piece from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

I hope you have liked all these cards from this suite of products.  I have certainly had fun with them.  Which card has been your favourite?

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny

SAILING HOME LIGHTHOUSE!

A very quick card for you today using the Sailing Home Bundle.

For this card I had some “bits” left on my table from creating lots of cards with the suite.  So we don’t want them to go to waste right?

The Night of Navy card mat was embossed with the Subtles Embossing Folder.  I was going to use that on another card and didn’t end up using it so it worked for here.  I had the strip of paper from the Come Sail Away paper pack leftover and even the diecut ship wheel.  So a little stamping and sticking together and the card was done.

But wait, what about that cute little stitched sentiment diecut.  I think I sold a few sets this weekend just with this little banner alone.  Don’t we just love the stitched dies?? 🙂

SUNDAY SUITE – COME SAIL AWAY!

This weekend it’s all about the Sailing Home Bundle in my classes and on my blog here.  So I think it’s a good time to have a closer look at the full Come Sail Away Suite for Sunday Suites today.

This is a really great suite for those hard-to-make men’s cards.  Let’s face it.  We all struggle with them.  While it might be boats and sailing there are some other fun elements.  Let’s have a look.

You can make some of the samples above and lots more with any or all of the Suite products below.

The Come Sail Away Suite can be ordered with just one item code making shopping so much easier. #152175  $165.25 AUD

or you can pick just one or 2 of the items.

I wanted to show you a couple of the products in closer detail.

The Memories and More Card pack features maritime images.  It has 50 double-sized cards and they come in 2 different sizes. 3″ x 4″ (7.6 x 10.2 cm) and 4″ x 6″ (10.2 x 15.2 cm) sizes.  I love the single-sided laser-cut specialty cards.  See them below.

There is also some sticker sheets included too.  Don’t just think of the these card packs for scrapbooking.  They are great for cards as well.

You have to check out the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper.

The prints show really don’t show it justice to be honest.  There are some great nautical prints.  Check the video below the paper image.

Now you need to see this High Seas 3D Embossing Folder closer.  It is like waves.  Great with this bundle.  Available now for $17 AUD #149577 (You can order it in store in the link below)

You get a really good idea of this embossing folder in the Soft Suede sample below.  And by the way the card above that uses one of the diecut cards from the Memories and More pack.

What do you think of this bundle.  I can tell you everyone has loved using them in class this weekend.  … And they may have added it to their orders. 🙂

You can grab the Come Sail Away Suite with just one item code or grab one or two items.  Shop in my store now -> HERE.

Please use the Host Code: VA9WC4CZ

This weekend order the Sailing Home Bundle (stamps and dies $88 AUD) and receive the tutorials and the card kits for the 3 cards we have been making in class this weekend.  You can see them in an earlier post.  Also, receive 2 additional metres of Night of Navy Baker’s Twine. If you order the full Suite I will also send you out the Card kits and tutorials.

You will also be eligible for the Tutorial Bundle as a Thank you this month.  This contains 12 exclusive projects from Demonstrators around the world of which I am a part of.  (These are not using the Sailing Home Bundle).

Thanks for visiting me today to see these great products.  I hope you can use them for the men in your life.
