OUR ‘NIGHT OF NIGHTS’ AWARDS!!

Just stopping by quickly to show you some more projects from our weekend.  Are you sick of it yet?????

Here are a couple more Make and Takes we did.

This is Andrea’s.  Isn’t it gorgeous!  Nice and sparkly for Christmas.

This one Leonie showed us.  That flower is gorgeous with the lovely hostess set “Because I Care”.

Don’t look too closely at the border.  I messed that one up.  I will do a little rescue on that later.  Just thought I would show you what can happen!! LOL  When you do the border using these Scallop Trim punches it is really important to have the exact size card piece before you start.  Gretchen has a great tutorial on this here to help you.

I will show you my card next post and give you the instructions for it.  So stay tuned!

On the Saturday night we had our ‘Night of Nights’ Dinner and Awards night.

For our dinner I embossed the napkins through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Folder.  I found this idea on blogland somewhere but can’t remember where.

To emboss them place the serviette in your folder like this.  I just did the centre section.  They stick together when it is done so you need to very carefully peel it apart and unfold it.

Here you can see the pattern clearly.  It makes a little fancier!

After dinner we had a ball at our dance party.  Haven’t danced like that in a long time!!!  Can’t show you too much of that one, but I will leave it to your imagination – 5 crazy women dancing the jive under the disco ball, and singing Karaoke into the TV remote!!  YEP!!  A wild time!  If that wasn’t enough we then had our Awards night.  Leonie and I had put some awards together.  Everyone received a “BEST ROOMIE”  Certificate and had the meaning of their names and their origin.  This is what I had made for everyone.

It is a small Toblerone Chocolate.  I wrapped it it Soft Suede cardstock that I had ran the Very Vintage Wheel over.  The greeting is from ‘Upsy Daisy’ that was punched with the large oval punch and the edges sponged with Soft Suede.  Here is a close up.

The bird is stamped in Pretty in Pink ink with the hostess set “Punch Potpourri” and punched out with the 2-step bird punch.  I punched out the wing in Pretty in Pink and sponged the edge.   The leaves were punched out in Certainly Celery.  I was pleased how these came out.  I even did one for myself – and I haven’t touched the Toblerone yet!!!

Leonie and I presented the awards to everyone.

Andrea received a special award for achieving $50,000 in sales for her Stampin’ Up! career.  Isn’t that awesome.  Well Done Andrea. xx

(Isn’t that a nice photo of Leonie and Andrea!)

So much for a quick post.  Pop back again soon and I will show you my Make And Take and my challenge cards.  I think you have seen enough for today!!

LAUNCH WITH A CAUSE!!!

Last night we had our combined team Catalogue Launch.  We took the opportunity to use it as a fundraiser for Cancer Council.  It was a HUGE night, but I think everyone enjoyed it.  There was over 75 people there and we raised over $2500 for the night’s effort which was fantastic!  There will be more added to that over the coming weeks which can help in some small way to help in the research and treatment of Cancer.  So, what a great night!!

Each demonstrator had their own tables and did their own projects.  This is what we created at our table.  The lighting is not great, so I apologise for that.

Firstly the box,  I was inspired by this cute little box that Helen did here.  I altered the measurements and made the box larger, so you could fit small love note size cards (7.5cmx7.5cm) or a small cello bag with some choccie treats!!!  I have my measurements further below.

I used the Very Vintage wheel across the front of the box in Baja Breeze. (NOTE: Do this before assembling!!!). I stamped the bird in Pretty in Pink with the new Level 1 Hostess set “Punch Potpourri”.   This is a great set.  It corresponds with a number of punches. I punched the bird out with the 2-step bird punch.  The small flower is from the small flowers in the set and stamped in Soft Suede and punched out with the Boho Blossoms punch. The leaves are punched out in soft suede and adhered straight onto the front of the box. I have used dimensionals to raise up the bird and flower.  The Rhinestone in the centre of the small flower is from some  newly aquired self-adhesive Rhinestones.  It didn’t take long to break open that pack!!  I punched out a hole with the small oval punch and tied a small bow with some of the gorgeous new Organza ribbon and adhered that with a glue dot.

Here are the instructions to the box.

MINI CARD BOX

1. Cut card to 24cmx16cm.  Score along the 16cm edge at 4cm and 12cm.  Score along the 24cm edge at 4cm, 12cm and 16cm.

2. Fold on score lines.  Along the 24cm edge, cut on each of the score lines until you meet the score line running along.  Repeat this on the other side.

3. Cut off the small 4cm square that is formed at the top, on both sides of the shorter edge.  This leaves a small tab in the centre measuring 8cmx4cm.  This is just on one end!  On this tab, use the small oval punch or Word Window punch to create a slot.

4. Stamp front of the the box as desired before assembling.

5. Use sticky strip or snail adhesive on side tabs and fold up on scored lines and adhere together.

6. Finish decorating box as desired.

Onto the card:

I used one of the new sets Printed Petals.  This is such a versatile set.  I stamped the small flower in versamark on the front.  I stamped the large flower in Pretty in Pink and the smaller one in So Saffron.  I cut these out and curled up the edges a little before raising them up on dimensionals.  Some more bling in the centre of these flowers with the Rhinestones.  The pink tag was cut with the Big Shot and the ‘Lots of Tags’ die.  I adhered this straight onto the card.  The greeting was from “Teeny Tiny Sentiments”  stamped and punched with the small oval punch.  I sponged the edges and raised that up with dimensionals.  It is a very simple card.  But it needed to be simple with so much else going on!!

I have rambled on a bit now but I will just show you a few photos of my lovely group of ladies hard at work.

Apart from some fun games we had to raise money we also had a large daffodil picture.  Everyone could place coins on it to fill the daffodil.  It was a great idea and I think we did well in filling it.  There is in fact $144 on there.  Isn’t that great!!!!

Just a “little” review of our night anyway.  It was worth the hard work.  I will be back soon with an account of my “Mystery Workshop” I had the other day.  There were lots of creating to be had there too!!!

HAPPY STAMPIN’ UP! BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Hip, Hip, Hooray!!!!  Whoo Hoo!  Today marks my 2nd birthday with Stampin’ Up!.  What a ride!  I have learnt so much and met so many wonderful people. Thank you to all my lovely customers and blog readers.  Your encouragement and support keeps me going!!!   To think, that I get paid to share all these yummy goodies from Stampin’ Up! Thank you to you all. It is so exciting to think that in just over 1 week the new catalogue is out.  There are so many fantastic products coming.

Just to give you a little sneak peek.  We made this card at our team training meeting last week.  This is using the new set ‘Artistic Etchings’.  Ness showed us this neat trick using the Big Shot  embossing folders to isolate an area you don’t want to emboss.  How cool is that!  This is  the ‘Vintage Wallpaper’ Textured Impressions folder.  I have to add this to my wishlist.  It is so gorgeous and so many wonderful things you can do with it.

Stamps: Artistic Etchings.

Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black.

Card: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Very Vanilla.

Other:  Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Lots of Tags Die, Wide Oval Punch, Sponge Dauber.

It is a very exciting day today too as  Josh’s football team (Rugby League)  won their semi final today.  They were minor premiers and lost to this team last week in the last game of the season, so Well Done Corrimal Cougars Under 14’s.  Off to the WIN stadium in 2 weeks to play in the Grand Final.  Plus, can’t forget my daughter who turns the all-important “double Digits”.  She is turning 10!!!  Great excitment in our household this weekend.

Enjoy your weekend however you spend it!!

IT’S A GIRL!!!

Recently we had some friends who had a new baby girl and I needed to make a card.  I haven’t had to make one of those cards for a long time.   I don’t have any cute little kiddies stamps, let alone baby stamps.  A long time ago when I made some baby cards I used to make these cute little nappy (diaper) cards.  So, I thought I would do another one of those, with a few additions.  I still had some nappy cloth.

I used the little nappypin from ‘Short and Sweet’ to create some background card on the Whisper White cardstock.  I ran some Pretty in Pink card through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder and layered this on some more Pretty in Pink card. I created the nappy (diaper) using the kite fold.  I have the instructions below for that.  I adhered this using Tombow adhesive, but Sticky Strip would work.  I stuck a safety pin through the top layer.  I don’t think many people use nappy pins anymore!!! I wrapped around some Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon.  Then punched out the greeting from Teeny Tiny Sentiments with the Large oval punch and Scallop oval punch.  I think it is quite cute, for a very cute little girl!!!!

This is the inside of the card. Just a very simple strip of Pretty in Pink punched with the Eyelet border punch and layered on some Whisper White cardstock.

Here is the Kite fold nappy (diaper) that I did.  I have used paper to show this here.  Cut a piece 8cmx8cm.

Fold 2 of the corners in to the middle.

Fold 2 corners in to the middle.

Fold down the top edge over the 2 folds.  Then fold up the bottom point.  I tucked the pointy end under.

There it is!!!

Hope you enjoyed this card???  I better go and do something with my day!!

Have a Happy day 🙂

MORE SWAPS!

Are you ready for more swaps??? If you have been around a few blogs you might be sick of them by now.  Anyway, I thought I would show you mine.

This is the first one I did.  I watercoloured the leaves and dragonfly with the inkpads and blender pens.

Stamps: Embrace Life, Organic Grace, Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Cards: Ruby Red (some were Riding Hood Red), Old Olive, More Mustard, Whisper White.

Ink: Old Olive, Ruby Red.

Other: Sponge, Blender Pen, Word Window Punch.

I would have liked to mount the dragonfly, or added some Dazzling Diamonds on his wings,  but with so many I passed on that!  It is just a simple card.

Here is a close-up of the dragonfly.

This is my other swap card I did.  I’m still not sure if I like it, but it got to the point I couldn’t change my mind anymore.

Stamps: French Script, Cottage Garden.

Card: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive, Whisper White.

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive.

Other: Crimper, Eyelet Border Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, sponge, Crystal Effects.

Here is a close up.

After I sponged the flowers and adhered them together, I added a drop of crystal effects to the centre.

So, what do you think????

I have a couple of other cards that I was contemplating on.  I will show you those soon.  For now, I must run!!!

Happy Stamping! xx
