IT’S GETTING CLOSE!!!

Can you feel the excitement????  It is only 3 sleeps till we leave for convention.  This is my first convention, so I’m so excited! It will be so good to get away with my best stamping buddies.  We are going to have such fun.

The last week or so the cardstock has been flying around here trying to get my swaps done.  I put the last ones together today!!! Whoo Hoo! I’m so relieved.  But, I can’t show you those yet.  I just have a few other things to do now and then I’m off.

Thought I would just stop by quickly and share a project I did at a recent workshop.  I wanted a quick project of a box and notecards.  I decided to show the pizza box.  This can be found here at splitcoast stampers.  I used the set “Bloom Away” which hasn’t seen ink for a while, and I knew these ladies would appreciate them.

This is a close up of the top of the box.

The little note cards.  These are 3″x3″ size.  I realised I didn’t take a close up of one of the cards, but I think you can get an idea of them.  I wanted to keep them very simple.  The stamps have such fine detail I didn’t think it was necessary to colour them for this.  The punched flower is using the Boho Blossoms punch.  I inserted a gold brad through it and raised it up with dimensionals.  The greetings are from “Teeny Tiny Sentiments”  in the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue.  This is such a versatile set with so many greetings, and is such good value considering you get 24 stamps in the set.

Stamps: Bloom Away, Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Card: Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, Baja Breeze card and DSP, Very Vanilla.

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red.

Other: Word Window Punch, Lots of Tags Die (for box), Boho Blossoms Punch, Scallop border Punch, Gold Brad, Dimensionals.

Now, if you pop back in the next day or 2 I will show you the card they all got to make.  The hostess wanted a male card.  They are always difficult to do.  I showed them a few techniques that can be used on male cards.  So, don’t forget to call by.

Happy Stamping!!

I’M BACK!!!

I’m back, did you miss me???? You probably didn’t even realise I had gone. LOL  Well, I have the computer back now.  I can’t say it is working fantastically still.  We will have to see how things go.  This last week I realised how much I get done when I’m not wasting, spending time on the internet.  It has been school holidays so we have had some fun family times together, we have had our roof replaced so we had no water and power for a day, but I have been very creative.  I will show you all  the projects eventually.  You will have to wait some time to see my convention swaps though.  4 weeks to Convention!  I’m so excited!

I wanted to show you the Make and Take from the workshop the other week.  My lovely hostess wanted ‘Pretty and Pink’.  I wanted to use the Big Shot and some of the other lovely products from the new Autumn Mini Catalogue. So, here is the card they all got to make.

Card: Regal Rose, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Whisper White.

Ink: Regal Rose, Rose Red, Certainly Celery.

Stamps: Cottage Garden, Warm Words.

Other: Big Shot, Textured Impressions Folder Dots, Eyelet Border Punch, Dimensionals.

I ran a piece of Regal Rose cardstock through the Big Shot with the Dots Textured Impressions Folder and added this to the front of the Regal Rose base card to create another layer.  The flowers were stamped on scrap paper inking first in Regal Rose and then rock and rolled in Rose Red.  They were cut out and raised up with dimensionals.

So, is it Pink and Pretty enough?????

Of course, I stepped it up.  Here is the stepped up version.

I added some Regal Rose Grosgrain ribbon and a clear button.  I threaded some Regal Rose ribbon through the button.  The text was stamped on scrap card and punched out with the Large oval Punch and then a scallop oval punched out with Regal Rose.  I added some dots with the white gel pen.  There you have it!  Hope you like!!!!!

Stop by again soon and I will show you some of my other new creations.

WILD ABOUT YOU!!

I thought I would show you these projects from a workshop last week.  As many of the guests had young children,  or grandchildren I wanted to show some projects they can make for or with their kids.   I have to say, the young ones that were there enjoyed it!! It is using the fun set ‘Wild About You’.

The box on the bottom right is a Sunny Boy/Sour Cream container.  You may have seen these on your blog travels before.  They are so simple to make even for young ones.  They can be filled with a small gift or some choccies or lollies.  I have used the eyelet border punch along the top of the Tempting Turquoise topper and tied some Turquoise ribbon around it.  I used the free Sale-A-Bration set ‘Vintage Labels’.  I stamped the round label several times on different coloured card and punched them out with the scallop circle punch and smaller circle punches.  This is such a great set to create labels on your projects and cards.  It comes with 4 labels and 3 greetings.  You still have time to get one for Free when you place a $100 order.

Back to the projects!! The scrap page on the left is a 6″x6″ page.  I actually started with double the length ie 12″x6″ and scored that at 6″x6″.  Or a full size A4 card cut on the short side at 14.8cm and then scored on the long side at 14.8cm.  I folded it in half and adhered them together placing adhesive along the sides only.  This creates a pocket.  Sometimes on a 6″x6″ page there is not much room for journalling so I created a small pull-out tag that can slip into the pocket.  This provides more room for journalling or additional photos.  Here is a close-up of it.  I can’t claim credit for this idea.  I got the idea from the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator website!!!

The card they made was a fun card to look like a film strip.  I used the spiral punch to punch down the both sides of a strip of black cardstock.  Three of the animals were stamped on small squares of whisper white card and adhered to the black strip.  The red base card was stamped with the sanded background stamp in Real Red ink.  Then the black strip was added to the red base card.  Stamp the ‘wild about You’ text in real red and punch that out using the large oval punch.  Sponge the edges in real red ink and add a staple.  Use mounting tape to raise the oval off the card for dimension.  I had made another card showing a stepped-up version.  This time I stamped the animals twice.  Once on the squares and once on scrap white card.  I cut these ones out and raised them using mounting tape. I coloured in some spots on the giraffe with a real red marker.  I punched out a circle using the 1 1/4″ circle punch from Turquoise cardstock.  I like this version, it is very cute!!!

What do you think???

You still have a couple of weeks left to get your free Sale-a-bration set so contact me to place your $100 order.  Don’t forget if you join Stampin’ Up! during Sale-A-Bration, not only will you get a great value starter kit but you receive a stamp set free to the value of $79.95.  So come and join my team.  I have been able to totally fund my addiction hobby through Stampin’ Up! and I have met so many lovely people, so contact me for more information.

Happy Stamping!!!

HAPPY VALENTINES!!

Well, This is a weekend of LOOOOVE!!  I have a workshop tomorrow and the hostess has asked for some Valentines goodies!  I thought I would show you these now as I know nobody from the workshop will be looking at these before tomorrow!!

These are the projects I am showing.

Here are some close-Ups for you.

This is a 6″x6″ page.  I won’t go into details.  I think it is straight-forward.

Card: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Whisper White, Pink Flamingo DSP.

Ink: Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip Marker, Chocolate Chip.

Stamps: Priceless, Whimsical Words (SAB).

Other: Wide Oval Punch, Rhinestone Brads, Mounting Tape.

Actually on this page I have used the Regal Rose but the one I am showing tomorrow has 2 red hearts in the top left and the text uses Real Red and Chocolate Chip Marker.

This is the bag.

This is such a cute bag to make and so easy.  I found the template at Mel’s blog here.  I stamped the label from Vintage Labels (SAB set) first on Regal Rose then on Whisper White.  I punched out the Regal Rose with the wide oval punch.  I punched out the White label with the 1 1/4″ circle punch and layered it on the Regal Rose oval with mounting tape.  The paper is from the Pink Flamingo DSP again.  You can’t tell from the photo but I created the handle by punching a strip of Real Red card with the Lace Eyelet Border Punch on either side of the strip to create a fancy edge.  The hearts are from Priceless set again.

While I was at it I created another bag.

This one was using the Ski Slope DSP (retired from Spring Mini).  I created a label from the Vintage Labels and punch it out with the scallop circle punch.  Punched some holes out with my crop-a-dile and threaded through some Real Red grosgrain ribbon.  A very quick bag.  This is the Lucky Door Prize.  I have put in a cello bag with some goodies in.

Onto the card which is the Make and Take.

The hostess asked for heat embossing too.  It had to be very simple as many of the guests haven’t even stamped before.  I have used the set “Happy Heart”.  I stamped the Tic-Tac-Toe grid along the bottom in Real Red.  I matted this on Chocolate Chip scalloping the top strip.  I stamped and clear embossed the heart on to Real Red card.  I need to take better photos, you can’t see the shimmering heart!!!  After I cut it out I mounted it onto some Whisper White cardstock that I had sponged the edges with Red ink and stamped the text on.  The piece was matted onto Chocolate Chip card.  It was all put together on Real Red card base.

There you have it.  Now there is still time to get some of these projects done to give to your loved one!!!

Happy Valentines!

BAROQUE TIME!!!

Sorry I have been MIA in the last week. It has been such a busy week, but I have something to show you!!!!
I had a workshop on Saturday. My lovely hostess wanted me to use the Baroque set. Since she had seen a number of different ways I needed to come up with something else that she hadn’t seen yet. I agonised over the card for the make N take (as I do all of them might I add!!). This is what I showed.

IMG_0007

It was similar card to one I had shown in an earlier post with the Baroque Gift box and cards.  I turned this one the other way and changed the colours.  It was a simple card really but everyone liked it.  The flower was Rock and Rolled in Certain Celery and then Choc Chip on scrap cardstock.  It was cut out and then raised on dimensionals.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Short and Sweet.

Card: Choc Chip, Certain Celery, Very Vanilla.

Ink: Choc Chip, Certain Celery.

Other: Dimensionals, Scallop Border Punch.

On your blog hopping you might have read about Stepping Up your cards.  I took this card and stepped it up.  I added some Dazzling Diamonds in the centre of the Rock and Rolled flower (although you probably can’t see that!!).  I added some Choc Chip Grosgrain ribbon and stamped the greeting on scrap card. Then I punched it out with the word window punch.

I then made the card again in a different colour combo.  This time in Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie.  So what do you think?  Which colour do you like best?

In my creating last week I made another card using the Baroque Motifs set.

IMG_0009

This is a small 10cmx10cm card.  I stamped the swirls, the small flower and the word ‘cherish’ in versamark  and then did some Poppin’ Pastels with the sponge daubers and pastels.  I love this technique.  It has to be one of my favourites I think.  It reminds me of the magic picture books you had and you rubbed over them and the picture appears.  It is such a WOW technique!

On scrap card I stamped the small flower in versamark again and added some pastels.  I cut it out and mounted it with dimensionals.  The centre is a rhinestone.  I discovered you could pull apart the brad and take out the rhinestone when I was visiting Andrea’s blog the other day.

So there you have it.  Am I forgiven now for not posting all week!!! I hope to have some more creations to show you soon.  Why not try a card and then step it up, or try the poppin’ pastels.  Email me your creations and I can post some here.

Thanks for looking!! Stop by again soon.
