MORE BLACKBERRY BLISS + CRAZY ABOUT YOU!

I shared some cards in the last post made with Blackberry Bliss and Crazy About You.  I decided to create some more the other day while I still had everything out.

This first one was CASED from Pinterest by Melissa Davies.  I love the simple one layer nature of it. (Apologies for the poor lighting.  The weather has been rainy and overcast most of this week).

P1150847

The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz.  See the flower?? I have stamped the flower 3 times and layered them.  The first flower was punched with the Medallion Flower Punch.  The 2nd and 3rd ones I cut the flowers down smaller following the lines of the flowers.  One smaller than the next. I added a Baker’s Twine bow to the centre with glue dots.

P1150854

The second card was CASED from Pinterest also but I don’t know who the original creator was I am sorry.  The card base is Pear Pizzazz and has a Blackberry Bliss mat.  The flowers were stamped twice directly on the Whisper White card with Pear Pizzazz leaves.  I stamped another flower on scrap white card and punched this out and raised this one up with the mounting tape.  Just a tip for stamping the leaves particularly the one under the raised flower.  I placed the flower on the card and I could then see the best position for the leaves. Another white twine bow was added to the centre.  I added a little butterfly punched from Blackberry Bliss using the Itty Bitty Butterfly punch.  A little bling is always nice to finish the card off!

Thanks for stopping by again.  I do appreciate your visits.  Please say Hi. It’s nice to know I am not just putting these up here for myself.  Hey! I have already seen them 😉

Stop by again soon,

CRAZY ABOUT YOU IN BLACKBERRY BLISS!!

I had a little time to myself the other day and wanted to create a card – just because.  I pulled out this new stamp set ‘Crazy About You’. This set is great as it has a couple of flower images and a leaf image as well as 30 different word stamps that you can team together if you like or use them with the ‘Hello You’ Thinlets now available.  If you buy them together as a bundle you save 15% on the price too.

So here are the 2 cards. P1150830

I made the one on the left first.  The DSP is from the pack ‘Painted Blooms’.  I embossed the Whisper White card with the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder (another new addition in the Occasions catalogue). Before adhering these to the Wild Wasabi card base I wrapped some Wild Wasabi Baker’s Twine 3 times around the card. The flower was stamped in Blackberry Bliss and punched with the new Flower Medallion punch.  I punched a couple of “leaves” from Wild Wasabi card from the punch as well. (I thought later it would have been nice to sponge the edges of the leaves with ink but I didn’t think of that at the time).  The greeting was from the ‘Crazy About You’ Stamp set.  They are 2 individual stamps.  As mine were Photopolymer I placed them on the clear block together.  I checked they were straight by stamping on scrap paper first.  Once stamped on Whisper White card I punched them with the Oval punch and then punched some Wild Wasabi card with the Scallop Oval.  I added a little Rhinestone for the bling factor to finish.

I made some more cards on Saturday with this set using Blackberry Bliss.  I will show you those next post so stay tuned.

Until then,

Happy Stamping 🙂

IRRESISTIBLY YOURS BUTTERFLY!

I have just discovered the ‘Irresistibly Yours’ DSP in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.  I had fun creating with it the other day.  I found this card on Splitcoaststampers.  I loved the bright colours and just had to copy it.

P1150837

I used Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.  To colour the paper I sponged the ink picking it up from the inkpad with the sponge.  Rather than dabbing with the sponge though I rubbed in a circular motion.  I think that gives a smoother coverage of ink rather than it looking blotchy. Once you ink it then rub over the paper with a tissue and it will wipe off the ink over the embossed areas and give it a shine. For this card the paper is teamed with the gorgeous butterfly die available now in the Occasions Catalogue and I backed this with some Whisper White card to make it stand out.  The greeting is from the Buttefly Basics stamp set.

The ‘Irresistibly Yours’ DSP contains 12 sheets (2 each of 6 designs) that are single sided. They each have a glossy white pattern. You can apply ink to the paper by sponge, brayer or directly with the inkpad.  You could colour with Blendabilities too if you like. The embossed like pattern resists the ink leaving a gorgeous pattern. If you haven’t seen it yet or really paid attention to it, check it out on page 15 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. Here are the patterns you will find in the pack.  It’s great to create some beautiful patterned paper to the colour you would like and to make it look embossed and you haven’t had to drag out the embossing powder and Heat Tool!

SALE-A-BRATION ‘BIG DAY’!

I showed you one of these cards in a recent post but I thought I would show you it again and show the other card I made at the same time using one of the Free Sale-A-Bration stamp set ‘Big Day’. There are so many fantastic Free choices this year for Sale-A-Bration it is hard to choose a favourite but I think this is a fun one.  There are so many ways of using it.

P1150767

The card on the left was one of the cards we made at my stamp Day on the weekend.  That was a fun card to colour.  The “Happy Birthday” and the “Celebrate” stamp were stamped together on Whisper White and then cut with the Banners Framelits.  To colour it I just used the blender pens and picked up the colour from the ink pad and coloured the lower part of the words.   The “celebrate” word was stamped again on Crushed Curry, cut out and adhered over the word.  The DSP on this card was another free Sale-A-Bration set ‘Best Day Ever’.  I love the colours in this DSP of Crisp Canteloupe, Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry (which is not a colour I have used before!!).  I finished it off with a Coastal Cabana bow (Yes a Free Sale-A-Bration choice!).

The card on the right was from a sketch on Freshly Made Sketches #283.  I turned the sketch when I created the card.  I was pleased how quick this card came together.  I stamped the “celebrate” stamp and cut it with the Circles Framelits.  This was coloured the same way as the above card and the “celebrate” stamped on Crushed Curry card and cut and adhered over.  The “icecream” greeting was stamped on Sahara Sand scrap.  I added a button (yet another free Sale-A-Bration choice).  The Coastal Cabana piece was ran through the Big Shot with the Arrows Embossing Folder.

Two quick cards which came together with little drama.  Which for me is a great thing.  I think these were both made in under an hour.  Gotta love that! I agonise over cards way too much.

Here is the ‘Big Day’ Stamp set if you haven’t noticed it before.

Big Day

ADVENTURE BOUND + HELLO YOU. GREAT FOR THE MALE CARDS!!

I just have to share these cards I made yesterday.  I am not great at making male cards.  Aren’t they hard to make???  The new Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stacks in the Occasions Catalogue makes creating them so much easier.  Actually there are a lot of great “male” sets in this catalogue.

P1150801

The prints in the stack are beautiful.  You really don’t need too much more with them on your cards.  I have used the new ‘Hello You’ Thinlets and the ‘Crazy About You’ stamp set with them and kept the embellishments very simple.  I was thinking of putting Candy Dots on them but didn’t get around to it.  I don’t think it needs them really.  I like the clean look.

Here they are individually.

NEW YEAR CREATING WITH BUTTERFLY BASICS!

Happy New Year to you all.  I hope you have had a lovely Christmas and New Year celebrations. We had a really nice family time.  I love these special moments.  I have been in my craft room the past week though.  I can’t keep away.  I have a number of projects to share with you over the next week. It has been so nice to ink up some new stamps.  Today I thought I would show you a little gift box I have just made.  This is using the new Bundle ‘Butterfly Basics’.

P1150789       P1150788

I have used Coastal Cabana.  I cut a butterfly from the butterfly Dies from Whisper White and one from the silver foil sheets.  (Read below for some tips for cutting out these little intricate dies). I sponged around the edge of the white butterfly in Coastal Cabana.  The strip under the butterfly is vellum which I have embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and then flagged the ends.  The little postage stamp is heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  I added a strip of Rhinestones to the centre of the butterflies for some bling.

For the box I recreated the little box I showed in a post some time back.  You can find all the details HERE.

BUTTERFLY DIES CUTTING TIPS

These butterfly dies are very intricate and like similar ones you might have a few problems cutting them out.  I thought I would share my tips in cutting them to have a nice clean cut.

1. Use baking paper between your die and cardstock. You may have to also add a scrap piece of copy paper to aid the cutting further. So lay your card down on the bottom Big Shot cutting plate, place a piece of baking paper over the card, top with your die face down then add the scrap piece of copy paper. Place the top cutting plate over it.

2.  When running through your Big Shot you might want to run back and forth a few times.  I found I needed to run it through about 6 times.

I had several attempts playing around with this die to cut well.  After some frustrations (and maybe some mumblings under my breath!), I found this to be the best result.  The butterfly lifted almost cleanly off the die.  I just used the Paper Piercer to start popping it in the holes and lift it slightly and then it would lift off quite easily.  See how you go trying this but do persevere as it is such a beautiful die and combines so lovely with the Butterfly Basics stamp set.

I look forward to sharing more projects with you so stop by again soon,

Jenny
