YES, I SCRAPPED!!!!

Here it is the last day of May.  I don’t know if you realise it or not but May has been National Scrapbooking Month.  I really don’t scrap very much, actually very little.  I really struggle with it, but my goal was to do more scrapbooking this year.  Well, not much as happened so far.  But, since it is National Scrapbooking Month I do have some pages I can show you.   I did these a few months ago.

This is a very cute photo of Carlie when she was 3.  I don’t think you can see it very well, but she LOVED to create.  This is using the Newsprint DSP and even some of her artwork!!  I used the Big Shot to die-cut the letters for the title.

Another page.  This layout was copied from my lovely friend Brigette.

Of course,  Another one of my DD.  I have to dig out some photos of Josh to do a page on him.  He might be feeling left out!!!!

This one was using the retired Orchid Opulence but I think it really suited the colours in the photo.  I have used Cottage Garden on this and die-cut the letters again.

There you go.  Now I don’t know when I will get to do some more scrapping.  I hope too soon, but don’t hold your breath for that post!!!

Come back again soon and I will show you some cards I have been creating.  I do enjoy cardmaking so much more. 🙂

ANOTHER HAYWARD CARD!!

With all my posting of our convention I didn’t get around to showing you this card.  A little while ago I showed you a card that my DH made.  He needed another card last week for a mate’s wife who broke her wrist in 2 places while mountain biking.  I had a card for her but Glenn said he ‘had’ to make one.  After all she saw the last card he made and expected one.

So he asked Carlie to help him pick out a few designs but it HAD to have the Big Shot.  They checked out the catalogues.  This card is based on a card from a recent mini catalogue and we worked on that.  So, without further ado –

Here is the card Glenn made.

The colours are Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery and Marina Mist.  We He  used the Perfect polka Dots Embossing Folder on the bottom of the card.  I suggested doing some sponging to lift it a little.  With a little persuasion he added some bling on the butterfly.  Have to say Paula really loved that touch!!  🙂

Here is the inside.  A bit more sponging and using Sincere Salutations.

Now just to show you that he really did do it, here is proof.

So what do you think.  I think it is a great effort.  I’m just going to have to watch my stamping space or he will take over.

Thanks for looking.  I will pop back soon and show you some of MY creations.

“CREATING UP A STORM” PART 2

I can now show you some other creations from our “Claytons Convention” Weekend.  Over the weekend we had various challenges along with the Make and Takes we did.  In our “spare” time we CASED some cards too.  You do get a bit of spare time in the early hours of the morning and it is easier to copy someone else’s work then than think for yourself!!!

Here are some some other creations.

I hope you have enjoyed these creations.  We did have such fun on our weekend.  It’s so great to have found special friends that share your passion.  I will show you some other creations that I have been busy on when I come back, so stop by again soon.  I do really appreciate your visits to my blog.  Please don’t be shy and say hello.  It’s nice to know I’m not talking to myself

Until next time, Happy stamping!

“CREATING UP A STORM”

I am just managing to get back here now.  I can’t believe where this past week has gone.  There has been so many ups and downs along the way. This weekend has been extremely busy too.  But, I am here now and can show you some of the creations from our stamping weekend last weekend.   It was amazing how much we created in 2 days.  (It does help when you stay up to the wee hours of the morning!!).

Since there were so many projects I am going to show you them in two posts.  I will put them in a slideshow for you.  (For those who subscribe to my blog, I don’t think it will come through as a slide show.  It will show the individual photos.  If you want to see the slide show just head over to my blog).  Today I will show you all the Make and Take projects we did that was shared by everyone there.  Next time I will show you all the challenge and CASE cards we did.

You can see my ‘Treat Box’ Make and Take in the previous post.

“OUR UN-CONVENTION UPDATE”

Here it is Thursday and I’m just getting back to you now.  I can’t believe where this week has gone too.  I haven’t done ANY stamping, except at our team meeting last night.  But I will show you that another time!  I did spend a couple of days sorting through the photos from our fun weekend.  I will show you some now.  I realised that I didn’t take many photos of us.  I think we were too busy creating to think about us.  So I just have a few.  Some are just not for public viewing.  😉

Here is an overview:

There was lots of laughs, lots of fun, lots of food and lots and lots AND lots of Creating!!  It’s amazing how much you can create without the interruption of family.

I have some super-talented stamping buddies who showed us some awesome projects.

We stamped into the very wee hours of the morning.

We had a very yummy Awards Dinner on Saturday night (even if it was at 10pm).  Well we didn’t have lunch until 4pm!!!

We had the red towel carpet walk into our Night of Nights Awards Ceremony.  I received an award for “The Mother Hen” as I am always caring for others.  We all received the ‘Best Friend’ Award.  🙂

We had our disco (with even the flashing disco ball) – and glow sticks, after our Awards.  I think some of them left their dancing shoes home though 😉

We were still creating into Sunday afternoon, and I think we all could of stayed for another day…or two. (Wish I was still there now!!)

Here are some photos:

Bacon and Eggs for Breakfast!

Angels: Leonie and Andrea with their glowstick Halos at our Awards Dinner Dance.

Creative Chaos!!!

What else you can do with punched shapes.  What a Goober!!!

I have got lots of cards and projects that we did.  I will get back here in the next few days and show you.  So stop by again soon.

A TREAT BOX!

I have just had THE best weekend away at our ‘Convention’ weekend. A group of us couldn’t go to the ‘real’ Stampin’ Up! convention in Melbourne this weekend, so we organised our own.  We had Make and Takes, Prize Patrol, even our Night of Nights Awards Ceremony and disco. It was such a great time.  Not a lot of sleep and maybe a bit too much food.  But, lots of creating and laughs.  I will show you some highlights and the projects over this week.

I thought I would show you my Make and Take I did.  Leonie asked me to show everyone how to make this treat box.  I made one at Easter time and have changed the colours for this one.

You can find these at Splitcoast Stampers here. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/treat_box/  (Sorry my links aren’t working properly at the moment.  I need to look in to that!)

They are so easy to make.  You can create them any size as long as you start with your base cardstock as a square.  Mine measures 21cm x 21cm.  I scored mine at 7cm and 14cm on one side and then turned my card 1/4 turn and scored at 7cm and 14 cm again.  Each of the corner squares are scored on the diagonal.  Check the tutorial if you are not sure.

This would be a good box to fill for the ‘boys’ in your life.  I used Extreme Elements set which is a great one for the boys. I used Pacific Point (which I don’t use a lot but I think it looks ok in this) with Pumpkin Pie and Certainly Celery.  I ran a piece of Pumpkin Pie card through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and then punched out a star for the front.  The sentiments are from ‘Teeny Tiny Sentiments’.

Here is a view from the top.  I just tied off the box with twine and added a tag too.

Give these a try.  They are too easy!

Stop by again soon to see some more projects.

‘LOVELY AS A TREE’ SYMPATHY!

This is another card that we made at our stamping get together last week with Andrea and Leonie.  I am finally getting a chance to show you.  I don’t know where the time is going to this week!  Andrea bought a sample of this card along and we all wanted to make it.  I loved the masked edge to it. I’m not sure where it was CASED from.  I will have to check back with that.

ADDED: Andrea just let me know where this card was CASED from.  This is by Kim and can be found here.

The area was masked and then the tree from ‘Lovely as a Tree’ stamped several times.  Sometimes it was stamped and then stamped again to get a fainter second image.  Then the area was sponged with Old Olive.  The masks were removed.  I then added the greeting and some twine.  The button is a clear button (now retired) that I added some DSP to underneath, then cut around it.  I thought this would make a lovely sympathy card.

You can’t see from this but we added some Champagne shimmer paint to the stamp and then stamped it over the top to create some sparkle.  You can see it a bit here.

This is the inside of the card.  I stamped the trees along the lower edge and the message is from ‘Thoughts and Prayers’.

This card was very timely as 2 of my friends lost their Dad’s last week, so I created another one and sent them on their way.

You may have heard by now that the Stampin’ Up!  Convention is starting tomorrow.  Unfortunately I won’t be there, BUT I am getting together with THE bestest stamping buddies for a ‘Convention’ of our own.  Should be a blast.  Stop by soon and I will show you “some” of the things we get up to.

Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Just wanted to stop by and wish all the Mum’s a Very Happy Mother’s Day.  I hope you get spoilt and can put your feet up for a bit.  Wouldn’t it be good to indulge in some stamping??  I don’t think I will get time for that!

glitter-graphics.com

I thought I would show you a Mother’s Day Card just for you.  This is a card we made at a fun workshop I did today.  My lovely hostess Deb wanted a Fun Fold Mother’s Day card.  You can find the instructions for making these on the Cupcake Fold post just down below a little.

This is using the set “Just Believe”.  Not that’s the way I had planned it but silly me forgot to take the stamp set – didn’t I!!  Never fear we are adaptable!  I had the set “Cottage Garden” (which is one of the Deals of the Week specials this week by the way!) and we used that.  I have to say these cards turned out fantastic.  I did take photos with my camera and at the moment I am having trouble uploading them so I will see how I go later.

So, have a lovely day MUM’s.

SILHOUETTE OWLS!

On Monday we had our regular stamping get together with Leonie and Andrea.  It’s so much more fun stamping with friends!  Andrea brought along some project ideas and we loved this sample by Laurie.  We loved the Silhouette owls.  This was the card I created.  It was a little similar to Laurie’s.

The hearts were punched out with the Heart to Heart punch and then inlaid embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. That is, I adhered the hearts onto the Marina Mist card before I ran it through the Big Shot, so the hearts were embossed with the dots as well.  I reversed the dots to give it a different effect. (OK, well I ran it through the wrong way by mistake!!!  That doesn’t matter though, does it???).  I adhered a strip of the narrow grosgrain ribbon across the bottom.  The greeting is from “Love Defined”.  I punched it out with the Curly Label Punch and cut off the bottom half.  I raised it up with dimensionals.  I added a little Rhinestone in the centre of the ‘O’.  It’s a bit hard to see.  I also used Champagne shimmer Paint on the moon but you can’t see the sparkle unfortunately.  Andrea had that idea and we copied!! hehe!  That’s the good thing about getting together!!  You can see her sparkly moon – and her beautiful brayered version at her link!!

I am heading off now and going to TRY and get to bed at a more reasonable time tonight!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by.  Stop by again soon.

“CREATE A CUPCAKE” HEART CARD!!

Today has just flown by.  I think I’m still in holiday mode.  By the time I got some washing done, went to footy and did the shopping it was dinner time.  Not a lot of stamping time in there.  I wanted to show you something though.  I still have a few projects in my vault (that’s always handy!!!)

This card I made a few weeks ago now for my Mini launch.  This is using the Create A Cupcake stamp set.  I CASED it from Shari and had come across it on Splitcoast Stampers.  I liked how it uses the Cupcake stamp set in a different way than just making cupcakes.

This is a 3″x3″  Love Note size card.  I inked up the hearts and stamped them out then punched them with the 3/4″ circle punch.  These were raised up with dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment in Rose Red and added an Adhesive Pearl.  A very simple card!

Thanks for stopping by,
