RAZZLEBERRY MEDALLION SKETCH CHALLENGE

It has been some time since I have been able to play in a challenge.  I have wanted to take part in the Just-Add-Ink Challenges since they started, so I have finally had some time.  This week was a sketch challenge.  You can see the sketch here.

This is my completed card:

I used the Medallion background stamp for this.  The scallop border was created using the Scallop border punch.  The clever Marelle Taylor explained how to do this using the scallop circle.  You can check that out here.  It is the same principle just carefully snipping very close on every 2nd scallop.  I added dots on each scallop using the signo white gel pen.  The card is very simple.  Here is a close up of the ribbon though.

To create the bow I used 3 different lengths of the Polka Dot Rich Razzleberry ribbon.  The first length I wrapped around the front, the second piece I cut points on each end and then adhered this to the middle of the other ribbon.  Then I looped another piece and put Sticky Strip on the back of the ribbon to hold.  Then stuck this on using Sticky Strip.  I adhered some of the Cottage Wall DSP to the back of a clear button and then cut around the button.  The sentiment is from “Teeny Tiny Sentiments”.   I stuck this on using Sticky Strip too.

So, my first Just Add Ink challenge completed.  I hope to have time to play again soon.  They are such fun and a great way to extend your creativity.

Happy Stamping  🙂

A NEW HOUSE!!!

Just stopping by quickly.  I have to confess I haven’t done any stamping ALL week.  My husband has been off on Long Service Leave for SOOO long.  I think it has been 7 weeks now.  He still has 5 weeks to go.  (I am going a little insane here!!!)  SHH!  Don’t tell him.

I thought I would show you this card I made a couple of weeks ago.  We have some friends who recently bought a house – finally!!  They have been trying to get in the market for so long and if you know what the Sydney market is like you know what a difficulty that is.

Now, the paper is not Stampin’ Up! (shhh!).  I was clearing out some stuff.  It matched so well with the Close to Cocoa and Sage Shadow cardstock.  I wheeled the Neighbourhood wheel on Whisper White twice.  I cut one out and coloured it using the markers.  This was raised up with mounting tape.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  I love that set.  It is so versatile.  On the ‘Just for You’  stamp I inked up the ‘for you’ with the close to cocoa marker and punched it out with the Circle Tab punch.  I stuck that under the main panel.  I punched out the small star in So Saffron and inked the edges.  Then added a brass brad and raised it up with mounting tape too.

Now for the inside.  Just simple.

I just wheeled the house again and coloured it and cut it out.

Well, I hope I get time to stamp this week or I won’t have anything to show you will I?  Just need to get hubby busy!

Happy Stamping!

VINTAGE COTTAGE GARDEN!

I had time to stamp for myself the other day which was so nice. I have been inspired by all the beautiful cards created with the Vintage Vogue set from the current Autumn/Winter mini. As yet I haven’t got that in my collection, so I played around with what I had. Here is the end result.  WARNING:  Anyone with an aversion to pink (*Lynda*) should look away now!!!

I stamped the leaf from “Fresh Cuts” in Pretty in Pink around the edge of Whisper White card and then sponged the edges.  I did the same with a smaller piece of Whisper White.  On this piece I stamped the words from Cottage Garden in Rose Red.  I inked up the Sanded background in Pretty in Pink ink and kissed the solid flower from Cottage Garden set.  This gave a different effect to the flower.  I inked up the small flowers in Rose Red and cut the larger one out and adhered this to the centre of the flower.  I raised up the flowers with mounting tape.  With the ribbon I adhered sticky strip along a strip of white card and ruffled up the Rose Red grosgrain ribbon onto it.  I added some glue dots on the outside to help hold it into place.  I then adhered the strip onto the card.  I did the ribbon separately as I was a bit worried about messing up the whole card if I got the ribbon stuck on wrong.  You could stick it straight on if you were feeling brave!!

Here is a close-up of the flowers.

To finish off, the inside:

I hope you like my version!!

Happy Stamping!  🙂

LEONIE’S BAG!

I have one more little thing to show you from convention.  You are probably all convention-ed out now!!!  I made this little bag for my roomie Leonie N.  I wanted to make something special for her.  The original idea came from Chiaki Haverstick.  When I made it up though it was so tiny measuring 7.5cmx5cm (3″x2″).    So I enlarged it and made a separate flap.

side view
Close-up of the paper flower.

I’ll give you the directions for the bag shortly but just to let you know what I did.  I used the So Swirly wheel over the card in Baja Breeze.  I assembled the bag.  For the flap I ran it through the Big Shot with the dots impressions folder and rounded the corners.  Now because of the width of the flap, the impressions folder didn’t cover it all.  So I lined it up again and ran through what hadn’t been done.  I rounded the corners of the flap and adhered it to the bag with Sticky Strip.  I adhered the ribbon with Sticky Strip inside the flap.  I created the flower by punching out several scallop circles and circles from DSP.  I scrunched them up and layered them.  Then added the Rhinestone brad before adhering it to the front of the bag.  To close the flap I adhered magnets to the inside of the flap and the front of the box.  I filled the bag with some little shampoo and soap and chocolate!!!! The inside!! To create the bag: 1. Cut card 19cmx20cm.  On the 19cm side score at 8cm and 11cm.  On the 20cm side score at 2.5cm and 17.5cm. 2.  Cut card for the flap measuring 15cmx10.5cm.  Score on the 10.5cm side at 5.5cm and 8.5cm.  Fold on the score lines. 3.  Stamp bag with wheel if desired before assembling.  Fold on score lines.  Assemble bag.  Run the widest part of the flap through the Big Shot if desired and round the corners.  Add Sticky Strip to back piece of the flap and adhere to the back of the bag. 4.  Adhere ribbon to inside of the flap.  You could attach it to the outside of the bag with eyelets if desired. Hope all this makes sense.  Happy Creating!!!

SOME LITTLE GIFTS!!!

Now I can show you these little books I made as gifts for some of my stampin’ buddies at convention.  I had grand plans for the gifts I wanted to make, but with 3 days to go and just finishing my swaps off – time was against me!

I created these little covers for the post-it notes.  I’ll give you the dimensions below.  Here they all are.

Here is a close-up of 2 of them.

I added their initials on the front.  Some I used the scallop circle punch and others I used one of the tags from the BIG SHOT ‘Lots of Tags’ die.  The leaves are punched out with the 2-step Bird Punch.  I embossed the initials.  I didn’t want it just flat silver embossing, I wanted some bling to it.  I added the silver EP with the Heat and Stick and embossed, and then added Dazzling Diamonds to it before it set.  Then I heated it again.  Not sure if it was the right way about it, but it did have a bit of sparkle to it! Don’t know if you can see that in the photo though????

Do you want to see inside????

Just a little Freddo Frog to keep their energy up over the weekend.

Here are the dimensions for the cover.

Cut card 24.5cmx9cm.  Score card at 8, 10, 18.5 and 20.5cm.  Fold on score lines.  The short flap folds over and tucks under the tag or scallop circle that I added the front to secure it shut.  I made the cover a little deeper to fit the Freddo in.  I added various pieces of DSP to coordinate with the card that I used.  A great way to use up those small pieces of DSP!!!

So there is a quick project for you to whip up.  I have another project to show you from convention too.  I’ll save that till next time.

Happy Stamping!!   🙂

MORE SWAPS!

Are you ready for more swaps??? If you have been around a few blogs you might be sick of them by now.  Anyway, I thought I would show you mine.

This is the first one I did.  I watercoloured the leaves and dragonfly with the inkpads and blender pens.

Stamps: Embrace Life, Organic Grace, Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Cards: Ruby Red (some were Riding Hood Red), Old Olive, More Mustard, Whisper White.

Ink: Old Olive, Ruby Red.

Other: Sponge, Blender Pen, Word Window Punch.

I would have liked to mount the dragonfly, or added some Dazzling Diamonds on his wings,  but with so many I passed on that!  It is just a simple card.

Here is a close-up of the dragonfly.

This is my other swap card I did.  I’m still not sure if I like it, but it got to the point I couldn’t change my mind anymore.

Stamps: French Script, Cottage Garden.

Card: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive, Whisper White.

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive.

Other: Crimper, Eyelet Border Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, sponge, Crystal Effects.

Here is a close up.

After I sponged the flowers and adhered them together, I added a drop of crystal effects to the centre.

So, what do you think????

I have a couple of other cards that I was contemplating on.  I will show you those soon.  For now, I must run!!!

Happy Stamping! xx

CONVENTION SWAPS!!

I have finally had time to go through my swaps I received at convention.  I have never seen anything like this swap time.  It is a feeding frenzy – Just crazy!!!  It was only when I got home that I could see the swaps I actually got.

I can’t show you all the swaps I got.  I’d be here all day.  I have selected a few and grouped them to make it a bit easier.  So, without further ado …….

The flowery ones!!
Packed with a Punch!
Vintage Vogue and Medallion was very popular.
Some cute 3D swaps.
These are Carlie's Picks! (Had to show you them!!!)

Sorry, some of them are a bit hard to see because of the glare, but it might give you an idea.

Come back again in the next day or two and I will show you my swaps I did.  Certainly not to the standard of these, but anyway, I will show you.

Have a good day!   🙂

Convention, Stampin' Up!

I SURVIVED CONVENTION!!

How can one weekend go by so fast!!!  I can’t believe where this last weekend has gone to.  We had such a blast with my stamping buddies at the Stampin’ Up! Convention.  Lots of laughs, perhaps a little too much chocolate!! Oh, and some great inspiration from the talks too.  The best part was spending time with my friends from our team and meeting up with my blog and forum friends.  I thought I would share some photos of our time together.  Note: “some”.  As they say, what happens in Sydney, stays in Sydney!

Good Laughs!! (can't remember what they are laughing at here!)
After shopping at Memento Mall! (How does all this fit in the car on the way home?)
Nightly 'Jama Party in our room. (I miss these, good laughs!)

Centrepoint Tower Sydney from our hotel, after the rain.
Award Dinner (Back: Me, Tracey. Front: Leonie, Erin, Sarah, Andrea)
Some of the InkyFingers Team.
There is some of the highlights of Convention 2010.  Pop back in the next day or two and I will show you some of the swaps I received.  I might even show you mine!!!

IT’S GETTING CLOSE!!!

Can you feel the excitement????  It is only 3 sleeps till we leave for convention.  This is my first convention, so I’m so excited! It will be so good to get away with my best stamping buddies.  We are going to have such fun.

The last week or so the cardstock has been flying around here trying to get my swaps done.  I put the last ones together today!!! Whoo Hoo! I’m so relieved.  But, I can’t show you those yet.  I just have a few other things to do now and then I’m off.

Thought I would just stop by quickly and share a project I did at a recent workshop.  I wanted a quick project of a box and notecards.  I decided to show the pizza box.  This can be found here at splitcoast stampers.  I used the set “Bloom Away” which hasn’t seen ink for a while, and I knew these ladies would appreciate them.

This is a close up of the top of the box.

The little note cards.  These are 3″x3″ size.  I realised I didn’t take a close up of one of the cards, but I think you can get an idea of them.  I wanted to keep them very simple.  The stamps have such fine detail I didn’t think it was necessary to colour them for this.  The punched flower is using the Boho Blossoms punch.  I inserted a gold brad through it and raised it up with dimensionals.  The greetings are from “Teeny Tiny Sentiments”  in the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue.  This is such a versatile set with so many greetings, and is such good value considering you get 24 stamps in the set.

Stamps: Bloom Away, Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Card: Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, Baja Breeze card and DSP, Very Vanilla.

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red.

Other: Word Window Punch, Lots of Tags Die (for box), Boho Blossoms Punch, Scallop border Punch, Gold Brad, Dimensionals.

Now, if you pop back in the next day or 2 I will show you the card they all got to make.  The hostess wanted a male card.  They are always difficult to do.  I showed them a few techniques that can be used on male cards.  So, don’t forget to call by.

Happy Stamping!!
