THE END OF SALE-A-BRATION 2015!

I can’t believe how quickly the past few months have gone with Sale-A-Bration.  There has been so many great products that are going to be sadly missed.  What has been your favourite???  I have already mentioned a few of my favourites with ‘Lotus Blossom’ and ‘Big Day’.  Then we had some fantastic new additions. Sadly not much time to play with them but the papers were gorgeous.

Here are some projects to share with you courtesy of Stampin’ Up! I don’t know who the original creators are so I do apologise but these showcase some of the gorgeous products we have enjoyed during Sale-A-Bration.

CELEBRATE YOUR BIG DAY!

I was playing around with some Sale-A-Bration products the other day.  Here is one of the cards I made.

P1150942

You could pick out a few Sale-A-Bration choices on this card – The ‘Best Year Ever DSP’, the ribbon from the ‘Best Year Ever Accessory Pack’ and the the stamp set ‘Big Day’.  The “Big Day” image was stamped on some Whisper White card in Coastal Cabana and punched the top with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  I punched the top of a piece of Coastal Cabana card too with the punch and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. I tied off some ribbon and Pom Pom trim and then layered it on a piece of the DSP which had been adhered to the Calypso Coral base card. To colour the words I stamped the “Big Day” image onto some Crushed Curry card and cut out just the banner to adhere over the top and then coloured the “CAKE” word with Blender Pens and inkpad. The cake image was simply stamped in black onto Crushed Curry card and punched with the 1 3/8″ circle punch I think it was.

I will show you a close-up.  I added some Dazzling Diamonds to make it sparkle. 🙂

OCCASIONS AND SALE-A-BRATION LAUNCH 2015!

Last Saturday I had my Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogue Launch.  It was a great time with 2 different times scheduled.  I think we all had a great time.  Why wouldn’t we?? We are creating and having a few laughs (always good for the soul!!).  I thought I would show you the projects we did.

Firstly, this card uses the new Chalkboard cardstock and chalk inks. (p 25 of the Occasions Catalogue). The chalk inks come in 3 colours at the moment – Aquarmarine (green), Rose Coral (pink) and Yellow Citrus (yellow). This card was CASED from Pinterest.  I have used the Sale-A-Bration paper ‘Best Year Ever’. The chalk inks match nicely with this paper.  I used the ‘Big Day’ stamp set. Another Sale-A-Bration Free choice!

P1150954

To give an idea how the Chalkboard cardstock looks I stamped the images on different card for comparison.  You might get some idea from the photos but I have to say it is much better in real life. 🙂

I used the same chalk ink on each of these cards – the Rose Coral chalk ink pad. The first one on the left the image is stamped on regular Basic Black cardstock, the middle one is stamped on the chalkboard paper on the rough side.  The one on the right ( I know I didn’t write on this one.  I thought I could use it on a card later), is stamped on the shiny, smooth side of the Chalkboard paper.  This is important.  You will notice the 2 different surfaces to the card. You must stamp on the smoother side. You get a much more crisper image.

This card was CASED from Pinterest also and is using ‘Crazy About You’ stamp set.  This is stamped in Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding.  The greeting is in Smoky Slate and the “you” is from the ‘Hello There’ Thinlets from the Silver Foil.

Of course, we can’t forget the Goodie Bags I gave to all the guests.  These were inspired by a project on Pinterest.  I used regular brown lunch paper bags and decorated them with the ‘Butterfly Basics’ stamp set and the Butterfly Dies.  The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set ‘Simply Wonderful’.  I coloured part of the “THANKS” with the blender pen and inkpads.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Painted Blooms DSP.  Absolutely gorgeous paper! The tags were attached with a cute little peg.

So I bet you wish you could have joined us!! If you are local you will have to make sure you are here next time 🙂  It was great fun.

If you haven’t seen the Occasions or Sale-A-Bration Catalogues yet then there is a link in the right hand column that will take you there.  If you would like your own copy (and you are in Australia), then let me know and I can send one your way.

SALE-A-BRATION ‘BIG DAY’!

I showed you one of these cards in a recent post but I thought I would show you it again and show the other card I made at the same time using one of the Free Sale-A-Bration stamp set ‘Big Day’. There are so many fantastic Free choices this year for Sale-A-Bration it is hard to choose a favourite but I think this is a fun one.  There are so many ways of using it.

P1150767

The card on the left was one of the cards we made at my stamp Day on the weekend.  That was a fun card to colour.  The “Happy Birthday” and the “Celebrate” stamp were stamped together on Whisper White and then cut with the Banners Framelits.  To colour it I just used the blender pens and picked up the colour from the ink pad and coloured the lower part of the words.   The “celebrate” word was stamped again on Crushed Curry, cut out and adhered over the word.  The DSP on this card was another free Sale-A-Bration set ‘Best Day Ever’.  I love the colours in this DSP of Crisp Canteloupe, Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry (which is not a colour I have used before!!).  I finished it off with a Coastal Cabana bow (Yes a Free Sale-A-Bration choice!).

The card on the right was from a sketch on Freshly Made Sketches #283.  I turned the sketch when I created the card.  I was pleased how quick this card came together.  I stamped the “celebrate” stamp and cut it with the Circles Framelits.  This was coloured the same way as the above card and the “celebrate” stamped on Crushed Curry card and cut and adhered over.  The “icecream” greeting was stamped on Sahara Sand scrap.  I added a button (yet another free Sale-A-Bration choice).  The Coastal Cabana piece was ran through the Big Shot with the Arrows Embossing Folder.

Two quick cards which came together with little drama.  Which for me is a great thing.  I think these were both made in under an hour.  Gotta love that! I agonise over cards way too much.

Here is the ‘Big Day’ Stamp set if you haven’t noticed it before.

Big Day
