MONEY HOLDER FOR THE BOYS!

Hope life is going well in your corner of the world??  Here it is cold and windy – but I guess you have to expect that for this time of year.  Yesterday was my gorgeous boy’s 18th Birthday.  I can’t believe how the time has flown.  I thought I would show you the card and gift I made for him.

You might recognise the card???

P1130120

I used this card for my Convention swap a few month’s ago.  Josh loves vinyl records so thought this idea would be really cool for him.  I used the Circle Thinlets Die to cut the Smoky Slate card base.  I used the Music Notes wheel (now retired) to run over the card in Black Stazon.  The black circle was punched with the 2 1/2″ circle Punch and the white inner circle was punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle.  The small black circle was punched with the 2 step Owl Punch.  The ‘YAY’ is cut from Real Red card using the little extras in the Circle Thinlets set.  I could have used the Chevrons in the set too but these ones were punched with the Chevron Border punch.  The ’18’ is cut using the ‘Timeless Type’ Die (now retired).   I stamped the streaks in Smoky Slate from ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ too.

Here is a close-up.  Josh thought it was pretty cool and even at 18 had fun flipping it! 😉

P1130123

Here is the inside with just a simple “Happy Birthday” from ‘Fabulous Phrases’.

P1130127

I forgot to take a photo of the Money Holder on it’s own but you can see it in the photo at the top. For this I followed the theme of the Vinyl Record.  I stamped over the front of the card using the streaks and splodges from ‘Gorgeous Grunge’.  The stars were punched from the new ‘Itty Bitty Accents’ pack and the greeting is from ‘Label Love’.  Here is the inside of the Money Holder.  I added some more streaks and stars.

P1130125

I will give you directions so you can make your own Money Holder.  They can just add a little extra to the gift rather than just adding it inside the card.  I didn’t take step-by-step photos but I think it is fairly straight forward  – I hope 🙂

MONEY HOLDER   (The finished pocket is 16cm long)

A DAY FOR WEDDINGS!!

What a beautiful day for weddings on Saturday.  Firstly, my nephew and his beautiful partner were married in the most gorgeous rock canyon setting surrounded by 200 family and friends.  Before I show you the card I made for them I have to show you a photo. Aren’t they beautiful????

P1110142

Now onto the card.  I used the circle Thinlets to create the card based on a similar design I made for another wedding recently.  You can see that card here.  For this card I have used the Modern Medley DSP and silver glimmer paper.  The “Mr and Mrs” from ‘Label Love’ was clear embossed after I stamped in versamark although you can’t see that too well.  I made the card base longer than the thinlet die so it could create a flap to fold over.

P1110118

Here is a photo of the side.  This card is really hard to take photos of so sorry for the odd angles.  I added some hearts punched from the silver glimmer card too.  I forgot to take a photo of the inside of the card.

P1110120

Now for the second wedding card.  This was for my lovely friend Andrea’s daughters wedding. Unfortunately we couldn’t make it but Josh and Carlie went along.  I am sure you will see more details of the wedding on Andrea’s blog here when she can catch her breath a bit! Here is the card I made for Skye and Mitch.  It is the same design.  Why change it, although you would think I would have had this done in record time but I think it took me longer than the other 2 put together!!! I just couldn’t get the colours happening together.

For this card I used the ‘Venetian Romance’ DSP and Pistachio Pudding card base.

P1110122

Another odd angle!!  I wanted to show you the other side of the circle.  I cut a scallop circle from silver glimmer paper and stamped one of the labels in Pistachio Pudding.  The greeting is from ‘Fabulous Phrases’ and punched out with the 1″ circle punch to layer over it.  Not sure that I should have stamped the greeting in Island Indigo though???

There you go.  Hope you like???  Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon,

I’VE BEEN PLAYING DRESS UPS!

Did you love playing Dress Ups when you were little?  It was a lot of fun.  Dress Ups was my daughter’s favourite game when she was younger.  I just have to show you this photo.  This was her favourite dress she wore nearly everytime.  She just thought she was gorgeous – and she was (and still is!!!).  Here is Carlie about 3 years old in her favourite red dress.

Red Dress

I have been playing Dress Ups recently.  The Stampin’ Up! Dress Ups Dies.  Haha! You thought you would see a photo of me dressing up in some funny outfit.

These Dress Ups Dies are so much fun.  There is no end to the creations you can make.  I put together a few paper outfits.  I made this card up using one of the dresses. See the edge of the Razzleberry skirt?  I have used the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder. You don’t need much more to layer the dress on.  I added a little piece of lace doily and the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

P1070993

When I cut the Black Dress Form out I realised the negative of the cut-out could be used.  Why waste it! So then I created a card using that piece.

P1070996

I used a piece of Sycamore Street I had left over to back the black card, and I used a strip of Tangerine Tango from the Patterns Paper Stack.  I finished it off with a Tangerine Tango Button from Sale-A-Bration and the greeting is from ‘Fabulous Phrases.

Now excuse me while I go and play Dress Ups some more.  🙂

END OF SALE-A-BRATION COUNTDOWN – 2

Second last day of Sale-A-Bration.  Here is a card for you using ‘Madison Avenue’ Stamp Set.  I demonstrated this at a workshop recently.  I CASED this one from our Demonstrator “Impressions” magazine.  Did you know you can colour your silver Glimmer paper ANY colour you would like??  I know you can buy the Red and the Champagne but sometimes it is nice to have a little sparkle in a different colour.  I will tell you about that shortly.   Here is the card.

P1070882

I have used the Vine Embossing Folder – and check it out!  Try reversing your folder sometimes to deboss the card.  It gives a different look.  The DSP strips are from Sycamore Street DSP.   You can’t really tell from the photo but I have also clear embossed the flowers on the Tangerine and the Summer Starfruit card.  I added some Summer Starfruit Satin stitched ribbon to finish it off.  See the Razzleberry Scallop Circle glimmer though.  It is a little hard to tell.  It is a little lighter colour than the Razzleberry colour is normallly but it gives a subtle shimmer.

To colour the Glimmer paper on this card I sponged the colour on using the Sponge Daubers. Just dab the dauber on the inkpad and “pounce” it over your card. Continually re-ink and pounce.  The more you dab the more intense colour you get.  I wouldn’t recommend doing a large area for this.  Maybe a brayer would work for that????? Not sure about that one but for small areas this is good to create your different colours.

P1070891

It’s a great effect and good to know you can have other colours to that lovely sparkly Glimmer paper.

Last day for Sale-A-Bration tomorrow.  I have one more card to show you tomorrow so stop by then.

END OF SALE-A-BRATION COUNTDOWN – DAY5!

I can’t believe there is only 5 days left for Sale-A-Bration.  Where has the last 2 months gone??? I can’t believe it.  There is still so many cards I want to make with these stamps.  Some I haven’t event inked yet!  I am running out of time.  To mark the end of Sale-A-Bration though I thought I would show you a card to countdown to the end.

Here is Day 5 Card.  The other week I played around with the new Soda Pop Tops.  I think this card  is inspired by a card I saw on SplitcoastStampers.

P1070713

I have used the Vine Embossing Folder but de-bossed it.  I think it gives it a different look.  The DSP flower is from ‘Patio Party’ and punched with the Blossom Punch. The centre flower is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and the small centre flower is in Midnight Muse.   They are from one of the Free Sale-A-Bration sets, ‘Madison Ave’.  See the centre of the flower though??? I have used the Soda Pop Tops.  This one was flattened in the Big Shot.  I will explain this just below.  The greeting is from ‘Fabulous Phrases’ and stamped on Whisper White and I have flagged the ends.  Some Raspberry Ripple Satin Stitched ribbon finishes off the card.

Flattening the Soda Pop Tops in the Big Shot is easy – and fun!!!  You might have seen how to do this elsewhere in Blogland but I will tell you what I did.  Here is the recipe I used for the Big Shot.

Platform – No Tabs.

Cutting Plate.

Scrap Card

Soda Pop Top (faced Down)

Cutting Plate.

Run all this through your Big Shot.  It is quite easy to turn.  I have used scrap card because it saves the soda pop top sticking in to the cutting plate.  Many blogs I have read haven’t done this step but I think it saves digging it out of the plate.  Then again maybe it is OK.

There is still a little time to get your orders in for Sale-A-Bration. For every $100 order you get to choose one of the great products FREE!  There is so many fantastic choices so don’t miss out.  Also, if you love the Stampin’ Up! products so much why not get a discount all the time.  Join the Stampin’ Up! family and during Sale-A-Bration get 25% more in your kit.  Pay $169, get $294 of Products.  How good is that!  BUT you only have until Friday.  So, hurry up!!!

Stop by tomorrow when I will show you another Sale-A-Bration project.

BLOOMING WITH KINDNESS ON WHITE!

Aloha!! Have you missed me???  I have been cruising around the Hawaiian Islands this past week.  It is such a beautiful place and the people are so friendly.  I have taken SO many photos and I will share some with you when I get home.  I just thought I would pop by and send you a post so you don’t forget me too quickly 😉

Here is a card I created a couple of months ago now with ‘Blooming with Kindness’.  (Not the best photo   It seems a bit washed out.  Sorry I can’t take another photo now!!) I really love the detail in the flower.  So many ways you can use this flower.  I used this stamp at Leonie N’s.  when we were having a stamping day.  I have CASED this from somewhere and now I really can’t remember.

I have cut 3 rectangles in Cherry Cobbler, Basic Gray and Old Olive.  I used some non-permanent adhesive to adhere the 3 pieces together on scrap card and then stamped the flower randomly over them.  I then adhered them to the bottom of a Whisper White card piece.  The flower was then stamped again above these.  Each time I used Black Staz On.  The greeting is from ‘Fabulous Phrases’.  I add this all to a whisper White Card base after tying around some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon.  A pearl was added for a touch of elegance.

Thanks for stopping by.  For now, I’m off to the beach  Sorry!  🙂  I will stop by and post again soon.

VINTAGE FLOWER!!

Thought I would just stop by and show you a card I made a couple of weeks ago.  This was my first play with the new Edgelits.  I do love the edging you can create with these little beauties.   Just a tip:  I found it helps to add some Dotto or other non-permanent adhesive to hold the edgelit in place when you cut them otherwise they can go slipping all over the place.

I cut the edge from the Whisper White card and a piece of the Flirtatious Specialty paper.  The flower was created by punching a few flowers from the new Blossom Punch in Pretty in Pink and folding and distressing and folding until the layers of the card came apart.  I sponged the edges and added a Vintage brad to the centre.   I added some folded Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon.  The sentiment is from “Fabulous Phrases” and punched out with the Modern Label Punch and added some pearls for some elegance.  The Pink swirls are from “Kindness Matters”.

Hope you like it???

The Stampin’ Up! National Convention is on in Canberra in 38 days!!! I can’t wait!  It is a great time to get together with demonstrators from all over Australia and New Zealand.  Part of the fun of convention is swapping cards with other demonstrators.  You come back with so many great ideas and samples.  I have just started on my swaps.  I have decided to do the one card but have different colour variations.  I have tested a few out and I am ready to go.  I figured that I would make 20 of 5 different colours which will give me a good number to swap.  Each week for the next 5 weeks I am going to create 20 cards.  So I thought I would give you a running tally here so you can help cheer me on.   Then I can have lots of great cards to show you when I come back.  I will share my swap card later on.   So let’s see how we go!!!

Thanks for stopping by today,

“SPARKLY MIXED BUNCH”

Last Friday’s class we celebrated the awesome Sale-A-Bration Catalogue  and Summer Mini Catalogue that has just ended, and we welcomed in the Autumn Mini Catalogue that began today.  Below is the card we created with lots of goodies from the new Mini.  Notice the stamp set, the pleated satin ribbon (just gorgeous and so much easier than pleating your own!!!)  and the edgelits for the Big Shot.

I cased this card from Allison here.  I changed the colours slightly.  Here is a close-up of the flower.

See the sparkle???  On the card that Allison created she used the Adhesive sheets with the Big Shot to adhere her Dazzling Diamonds.  On the card above I used a mixture of Heat and Stick and Dazzling Diamonds.  I have a tutorial for this technique here.  I first stamped the flower and then punched it out and then applied the Dazzling Diamonds as in the tutorial.  After this was done I adhered it to the base card with dimensionals  and then stamped the centre of the flower in Baja Breeze and this was punched out with the 1″ circle punch.  I added an Adhesive pearl for some elegance.

If you would like to see some more projects from the Autumn Mini Catalogue why not join in on the ESAD Blog Hop.  You can start here at Tanya’s blog.  There are 25 blogs showcasing some awesome projects.  I was very impressed!

Stay tuned for some more projects with products from this Mini Catalogue.  I have been busy creating!

You can view the Mini by clicking on the link in the right hand column.  If you would like me to send one out to you in the mail then drop me an email.  They always make good bed-time reading don’t they??

“ESAD SUMMER MINI CATALOGUE BLOG HOP”

It’s the first of December – the start of Summer (for us in the Southern part of the world!).  With that comes the start of the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalogue.  To kick this off many of us in ESAD are holding our Summer Mini Catalogue Blog Hop.

Firstly, what is ESAD?

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin Up demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now onto the Blog Hop.

You can grab a cuppa (if you haven’t already got one), sit back and take a journey to a number of blogs.  Each one will showcase products from the Summer Mini Catalogue.  So sit back relax and hopefully be inspired.  You might have come from Felicity’s blog, I hope you have enjoyed the journey so far.

Today I am showing you the Simply Adorned chains, charms and baubles.  You might have already seen this appearing on blogs from the U.S.  These are a whole new line of products for Stampin’ Up! here in Australia and New Zealand.

You can custom make your own necklace and bracelet to the way you like.  For the chains you can choose the Bracelet (which is 20cm in length) or the Necklace chain (which is 61cm in length).  The baubles come in Black, clear or pink Crystal and the Vanilla Pearl.  The charms are locket-style and you can insert your own piece you have created or add a photo.  They come in various sizes  and shapes.

Here is one I have created to show you.

You want to see it closer up, don’t you????

This is the 2.5cmx2.5cm Charm.  I have added the Vanilla Pearl Bauble.

Now don’t forget there are other charms in the Current Catalogue you can add too like the Trinket keys and the crowns.  They would make a nice addition.  I will explain what I have done for my insert shortly.

With these charms they have a hinged door that you can add your insert. Just think, you can change these to match the colour you are wearing or to suit your mood!!!!

Here are some inserts I have done.

Go for a whimsical butterfly look, or try an arty style, or since Christmas is almost upon us you can create a vintage style Christmas one.

The first one on the left is the one I had in my charm.  I created this by first stamping “En Francais” in Versamark on Whisper White card and clear embossed it then sponged in Pretty in Pink.  I stamped the swirls from “Kindness Matters” in Old Olive.  The butterfly from this set was stamped in Rich Razzleberry on scrap Whisper White card and coloured with the Blender pen.  I then cut it out and adhered it on to the piece.

For the next one, I stamped the doily from “Kindness Matters” in Crumb Cake and the butterfly in Pretty in Pink. I tore a small piece of Marina Mist DSP and sponged the edge in Soft Suede.  On a small scrap piece of Whisper White I stamped the ‘dream’ from “Fabulous Phrases”

For the Christmas one, I stamped the small ornament from “Tree Trimmings” in Cherry Cobbler.  I sponged the edges in Crumb Cake and stamped the flourish from “Tiny Tags” in Crumb Cake also.  The ‘merry’ is also from “Tiny Tags” and was stamped in Old Olive.  I added a small adhesive pearl onto the ornament.  You can add small embellishments on these inserts as you do have some room inside the charms.

I hope you like them!!! If you want to check all the great products in this Summer Mini Catalogue, then click on the link on the right to take you there.  Enjoy reading!!!

I have some other creations from the Mini Catalogue but I will save them for another day.  Now it is time to move on to Tess‘ blog to see her wonderful creations.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your journey.
