PARTY POP-UPS ARE GOING!

The Party Pop-Up Thinlits have only been around for a short time – and now they are going! I thought I would show you a few cards I have made with them over the months.

The Thinlits make cool Pop-ups inside the card. It’s such a WOW!

But you could add them to the front of the card.

The other Pop Up Die in the pack is the Happy Birthday.

For this one I cut the words out from Watercolor Paper and then coloured them with the Aquapainter and Inkpads. I did add the Wink of Stella to the “flames” although that is hard to tell.

This card below is a Flap Fold. I hadn’t shown you this one yet. I made this last year for our nephew’s 40th birthday.

To make this cut your card vertically in half on the short side so you have a long card strip. On an A4 sheet that would be at the 10.5cm mark. Then score on the long side at 7.4cm and then at 14.8cm (ie at 1/4 of the card and half way). Fold on the score lines at the half way score line and then back on itself at the first score line.

This is the inside for you to see it.

I cut a circle in the Crushed Curry and placed adhesive on half of the circle at the back and adhere that half on the front flap. The Designer Series Paper is the Moroccan DSP and the card base is Dapper Denim.

It needed something on the birthday and without making it to bling-y I added a strip of Silver Foil and just one Adhesive Rhinestone in the centre.

CLOUDY LIFT ME UP!

A couple of weeks ago I played around with the Lift Me Up Bundle. I will share the cards with you over the next few days. To start off I went looking around Pinterest. I was inspired by THIS card from Helen in the UK. Here is my version.

TO RECREATE THIS CARD:

I cut a circle with one of the larger Circles from the Stitched Framelits out of the cool Carried Away Designer Series Paper that is available Free with Sale-A-Bration. (How cool is it that this paper co-ordinates with the Lift Me Up Bundle. Good thinking Stampin’ Up!). That was adhered on to the white card mat. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy at the bottom and then adhered on to a Night of Navy Card mat and then the Peekaboo Peach Card base.

Stamp the small Hot Air Balloon and cut it out with the Up and Away Thinlits. Also cut some White clouds using the cloud Framelits too. (I think some nice Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Ppaer clouds would look good instead of the plain white). Adhere the Hot Air Balloon and the clouds over the DSP circle piece. I added a little White Baker’s Twine bow to finish.

RED MERRIEST WISHES!

I really liked the Merry Tags Framelits when I saw them in the Holiday Catalogue. I got to finally play with them the other week. Now I can share the cards with you. I wasn’t sure where this card was going when I first started it but I was happy with the end result.

It’s great to have different shapes in the Merry Tags Framelits set. You have the detailed tags and you have circles as well. So many options to create different looks.

For this card, the card base is Real Red and the card mat is Sahara Sand. I stamped the dots in Sahara Sand on to Whisper White. A number of people have asked me what you would do with the dotty stamp in the Merriest Wishes set. I stamped them a few times along the top of the White card reinking the stamp each time. I think they make a nice background or you could stamp them on card and cut them with one of the circles. What do you reckon?

I cut one of the detailed tags in Red Glimmer Paper and stamped the “25” in Memento black and then punched it out with the 1 1/4″ Circle punch. The small ornament shape is stamped in Emerald Envy and punched with the 3/4″ Circle punch.

The ornaments were raised up on the white card with Dimensionals and then finished off with some Gold Twine and to finish I stamped the sentiment in Real Red.

CHRISTMAS THOUGHTFUL BRANCHES!

Today I am going to show you a couple of Christmas cards with the Thoughtful Branches set. You can see just how versatile this set is. A set for so many different occasions.

Here is the first one. I CASED this from Pinterest but changed the colours.

I have used Emerald Envy for the card mat and for the tree branches. I will say it was a little tricky lining up the branches with the trunk. Thank goodness for clear stamps!! But it took a couple of goes.

Just a tip: Stamp the tree trunk first. (this one is in Early Espresso). Then ink up your branches and hold it over the trunk. Just move the stamp around until you have lined up a few of the tree branches with the branches on the trunk. I started at the bottom of the branches and worked up the tree. Have a practice on scrap card if you like. I did fill in a couple of leaves with the marker because I missed, but hey! you wouldn’t have known if I didn’t tell you. 😉

I did try to stamp the branches first and then stamp in the trunk but I think it is much easier to stamp the trunk first. Have a play and see what works for you.

The sentiment is cut from Gold Foil Sheets with the Christmas Greetings Thinlits.

The next card is one I CASED from my friend Leonie when we had a stamp day. I think this was CASED off Pinterest.

The tree is cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I hope you can see the sparkle. The ground and the 3 trees are stamped in Versamark and then Heat embossed in White Embossing Powder on to a piece of Whisper White just a little smaller than your card base.

The sentiment is from the Merriest Wishes set (coming out TOMORROW in the Holiday Catalogue!) I stamped it on scrap white and heat embossed it, then just flagged the ends with scissors. I have to say this was the first time I had used the Copper Embossing Powder. WOW! I think it is more like Rose Gold. I may have ordered it now!! 😉
