THE END IS NIGH FOR SALE-A-BRATION AND THE SUMMER MINI!!

I can’t believe that Sale-A-Bration and the Summer Mini Catalogue ends TODAY!!  These last couple of months have simply flown by!  The SAB choices this year have been absolutely awesome and I am sad to see them come to an end.  I have shown you a lot of projects using them over the past couple of months.  I still have some I haven’t shown you yet.  I will see if I get around to that.

Today I want to show you a couple of cards from the Summer Mini.  Poor Mini Catalogue 😦  I think some of these have been overlooked because there has been so much to show from Sale-A-Bration.  These cards are using the set “Bold Blossom” which is a really cute set and so versatile.  This co-ordinates so nicely with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.

The original idea for this card came from Jill’s Ink here.  I changed the colours and the greeting but I loved the idea.  I  used Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade.  The greeting is from ‘Sincere Salutations’.  Now that’s a set I haven’t used for a while!!

This next card I demonstrated at a workshop recently.

Colours are Lucky Limeade and Pretty in Pink.  The flowers were stamped on scrap Whisper White card and punched out with the 3/4″ circle punch.  They were raised up off the card with dimensionals and a Rhinestone added to the centre of each to give it the ‘Bling’ Factor!  For the top of the card, I punched the edge of a piece of Pretty in Pink card with the Scallop Border Punch and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Stripes Embossing Folder.  I tied a piece of Pretty in Pink Grosgrain ribbon around it before adhering it to the card.  The greeting is from ‘Fabulous Phrases’.

Well I hope you have got your free Sale-A-Bration stamps, paper or brad and ribbon pack.  Maybe you have got them all!!!  I have enjoyed them all.  But tomorrow the Autumn Mini Catalogue starts and that has some fantastic products too.  I look forward to showing you them over the next weeks and months.  I hope to start showing you some tomorrow so I hope you stop by again soon.

Until then,

A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY!!

I can finally show you this card now.  I made this a couple of weeks ago for a lovely friend for her special birthday.  Happy Birthday Andrea xx  I won’t say how old she turned (although you can probably work that one out. Hehe!!).

This is fun card to  create once you work out the scoring and folding.  I found this idea and the template on Valita’s blog here.  I wanted it green and sparkly although I don’t own any glitter except for Dazzling Diamonds.  Is that bad??  The numbers were cut in Lucky Limeade with the ‘Timeless Type’ Die on the Big Shot.  I then used the 2-way glue pen over the numbers and sprinkled poured over the Dazzling Diamonds.  I used the fantastic Sale-A-Bration set ‘Elementary Elegance’.  I can’t believe there is only one week left to get your hands on this set.  Sale-A-Bration finishes on the 31st March. (Have you got your free Sale-A-Bration set yet?).  For the centre of the flourish I had used the centre of the stamp that comes from the middle of the flourish and stamped this in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla card and then punched it out with the  Curvy Label Punch. I think I should have used Certainly Celery perhaps?  I wasn’t too happy with the result there when I looked at it after.  To finish I tied around some of the gorgeous Lucky Limeade Organdy ribbon (that you can choose for Free during Sale-A-Bration), and I added some more bling in the centre of the crown with a Rhinestone.

Today we celebrated Andrea’s Birthday by going out to lunch.  It was planned for a couple of weeks ago for her Birthday but the weather played havoc with those plans.

Here we are:  At the back is the Birthday Girl Andrea and Tracey.  In front is Leonie N. and me!!  We had a lovely time: lots of laughs, good food and great company.  Thanks my lovely friends xxx (Thanks for the photo Tracey).

I still have lots of Sale-A-Bration cards to show you.  So stop by again very soon.

“TAKE-OUT BOX TUTORIAL”

Last post I showed you a Take-Out Box I had created.  I have now put together a tutorial for you.  This is created with the Petal Cone Die on the Big Shot.   I hope it is clear enough for you.

TAKE-OUT BOX

1. Cut 2 Petal Cone Die pieces.  You would need to do these one at a time so it doesn’t cut the score line rather than score it.

2.  Place ONE of the pieces in your cutter.  Place the score line at the circle end at the 7.5cm (3″) mark.  The score line must run Vertical in the cutter.  (This is really important).  Have the point of the tab resting against the grid at the top.  Check the photo for correct placement.  I hope this is clear enough.  Once in position cut the card piece.  Do this with both pieces.

3.  Move the piece along the cutter to the 5cm (2″) mark.  Have the score line running vertical again at this mark.  Have the point of the tab running up against the grid on the cutter.  See the photo again for placement.  Now score the card piece.  I use my bone folder some people have the scoring blade on the cutter.

4. Now you have your pieces cut.  Cut up the score line at the bottom to the score line and also cut off the small rectangle at the bottom of the side tab.  (Does that make sense??).  Now your pieces are ready.  Place Sticky Strip along one tab at the side and attach the 2 pieces to have one long length.  (Sorry missed a photo of this step). Stamp your pieces at this point before assembling.

5.  Assemble your box together now.  Add Sticky Strip to the other tab and adhere the box together.  On the bottom of the box fold in 2 opposite tabs.  Then place Sticky Strip to the very top edge of one of the other tabs and adhere these 2 tabs together.

6.  To fold up the top I interlocked each of the curved edges like this shown in the photo.  If you want to add a wire handle like the sample I did in the previous post then you can punch two holes in either side of the box with the Crop-A-Dile.  Then I curved a piece of wire and pushed it through. This is optional to add the wire.

7.  Now you can dress it up how you like.  On this version I added some Very Vanilla Satin ribbon and a tag using the Triple Layer Doily Punch.

The ideas are endless as to how you can create your box, let alone all the goodies you can fill in it. 🙂

I hope you enjoy creating your own.  Thanks for looking.

DOILY BOX!

I have been wanting to make these little Take-Out boxes as they call them for such a long time.  I just haven’t had a chance to.  Then last month at our Team Meeting Ness showed us how they were done.  Well, I didn’t actually get around to making mine then – perhaps a little too much chatting was being done!!!!  Anyway, I managed to make mine the next day.  It’s just taken me this long until I have had a chance to show you.

This was cut with the Petal Cone Die.  I was going to explain how to do it but it was getting a bit complicated.  I will try and make another one soon and show you some step-by step photos.  Would you like that????

Before I assembled the box I stamped it with the ‘Delicate Doilies’ stamp set with Whisper White and Pretty in Pink. I added some wire (just the sort you might use for beading).  Then I added the banner.  It is a bit hard to tell but I sponged the edges in Pretty in Pink and stamped over it with the small doily from the ‘Delicate Doilies’ set.  The ‘Thanks’ is from the set ‘Kindness Matters’.  I punched out a doily with the Doily Triple Layer Punch and added a Rhinestone to the centre.  Then it was a matter of tying around some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and some White Organza.  These would be great to fill with some chocolates.  Maybe an idea for Easter coming up very quickly????

Have a great weekend.  I do hope it is a dry one this weekend.  I think we are all getting a little water-logged around here!

“BUTTERFLY MAGNETS!”

You can tell how far behind I am with blog posts with this project.  I created these before Christmas for some special people.  It has just taken some time to get them up here!   These are fridge magnets created with the Butterfly Bigz Die.

Here are just some of them.  I made various colour combinations.   I will show you a close-up of one.

I first cut a scallop circle with the Big Shot.  I stamped the swirl from ‘Elements of Style’ and sponged the edges.  The butterfly was cut with the Butterfly Bigz Die and then ran through the Big Shot again with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I adhered this to the scallop circle.  I stamped on a greeting.  This one is from ‘Tiny Tags’.  I added co-ordinating ribbon and a mini calendar.  On the back I added a magnet.  These were fun to make – and give!!

Have a lovely weekend.  If you’re on the East Coast of Australia.  I hope you stay dry.  We have had a lot of rain and still a lot to come apparently!  Great weather to stay indoors and stamp. 🙂

Till next time,

Jenny

EVERYDAY ENCHANTMENT BUTTERFLY!

I created this card as the Make and Take for a workshop a couple of weeks ago. (Thanks again Deb).  I am only just getting around to showing you now!

This card was inspired by a card our team leader Ness had created.  I used the ‘Elements of Style’ swirl stamped in Lucky Limeade.  The greeting is from ‘Fabulous Phrases’.  I don’t know if there is a particular name for this technique.  I cut strips of the patterned paper from the Everyday Enchantment DSP, (love that paper!) and adhered these to a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock.  When they dried I cut them out using the Butterfly Bigz die and then embossed it using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  It just gives it a little more texture Embossing it.  After sponging the edges in Soft Suede, adding some organza ribbon and pearls (I did add 3 pearls to this later.  It is better balanced that way!!),   I then adhered the butterfly to the Very Vanila card.  I punched the edge with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and adhered this to a Calypso Coral card base.

While creating this one I made another one.

The butterfly was created the same way but using the largest Die.   I wanted to create this one vintage style.  On the vanilla card I stamped the flower image from ‘Elements of Style’ and then spritzed the card with Crumb Cake marker. Then I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  The dots are from ‘Create A Cupcake’.  I curled the top right corner over several times, distressing it so the card separated in 2.  This adds just a big more distressing.  The greeting is from ‘Fabulous Phrases’ and stamped in Lucky Limeade.

The Vanilla Card was adhered to a Soft Suede mat  and then Lucky Limeade base.  I added a bow from organza ribbon as well as a Lucky Limeade Brad to the butterfly and adhered it to the card front.

Thanks for looking,

Have a good week,

VINTAGE ‘ELEMENTARY ELEGANCE’ TAG!

This is a tag I made a few weeks ago using the Sale-A-Bration set ‘Elementary Elegance’.  The tag was inspired by a tag I came across at SplitcoastStampers by Speedystamper.  She had used the set ‘Style Beautiful’ but I thought it would work quite well with this set.

I stamped the frame on Very Vanilla cardstock in Crumb Cake.  It is a bit hard to see but I spritzed it with the Crumb Cake marker and sponged the edges.  The ‘Hello’ is stamped in Chocolate Chip. I added a scallop strip in Real Red behind the Vanilla card.  Before I mounted this with dimensionals onto the Crumb Cake base I punched a hole in the Crumb Cake card to thread through some Real Red Satin Ribbon.  The ribbon was tied off with some twine.  The corners of the Crumb Cake base was rounded off with the Corner Rounder punch.  I stamped some of the little birds in Real Red on to scrap Vanilla card and cut them out.  I find cutting out to be very relaxing, do you???? The birds were adhered to the front and a pearl added for an elegant touch.

After I showed this to Ness, our lovely team leader, she created a card to match.  You can check that out here.

Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you can visit again soon,

“ANOTHER TREAT POUCH”

In the last post I showed you a little Valentine’s Treat pouch.  I have made another one.  This was for a workshop last week.  (Thanks Deb 🙂 )  I have used the gorgeous papers you can choose Free during Sale-A-Bration.  This is from the Everyday Enchantment pack.

If you want to know how to make them just head to my previous post. For the band,  I stamped the little images from Everyday Elegance along the Lucky Limeade card strip and wrapped around some of the Lucky Limeade organdy ribbon.  You can choose this as one of your Free Sale-A-Bration items too.

See the loopy ribbon??  I came across this idea from Barb here.   I think it is a cute idea.  Just a little different to a regular bow and it is very easy.  Basically, take a small piece of scrap card, the width of it being the size of the loops you want.  The size I used here was 5cmx6cm roughly (approx. 2″x 2 1/2″).  Then just wrap your ribbon around the card an odd number of times not too tightly.  I did this one 7 times.  Then carefully slide your loops off and wrap a brad around the centre of the loops.  Does that make sense??? I adhered this to the pouch with a dimensional or you could use a glue dot.

I have more Sale-A-Bration goodness to show you next time.  Have a good weekend everyone.  Stop by again soon.  Don’t forget to say Hello.  It is nice to hear from you.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!

Wishing you all a Happy Valentine’s Day.  I thought I would stop by and show you a quick Valentine’s Treat Holder.  You could use this for any special occasion with a Chocolate treat or Gift card perhaps.

The original design was from Angie from her 12 weeks of Halloween found here.  I think this is cute (if I can say that!).  The paper measures 25cmx14cm.  Score the long side at 12.5cm.  Fold your paper in half with the fold on the left hand side.  Add Sticky Strip to the bottom edge and right hand side and adhere together.  Too easy!! You can crimp the bottom if you like.  Of course, you can make this to any size for your treat or Gift Card.

I have used the set “You are Loved”.  It finally found ink this week after sitting on my shelf for a couple of months.  I inked the heart with Crumb Cake and sponged over with Chocolate Chip on parts of the image.  (It is a bit hard to see).  I went over the bird with the Real Red Marker. This was mounted on a Crumb Cake mat.   The paper is from the Brights Paper Stack.  The Crumb Cake strip was run through my crimper and I wrapped some Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon around the strip.  The sentiment is from “Teeny Tiny Sentiments” with a little heart punched out from the 2-step Owl Punch.  I punched a  half circle from the top of the holder with the 1 3/8″ circle punch to make it easier to pull the treat out!!

I hope you have a special day with the loved ones in your life.  🙂

See you again soon,

Jenny xx

STAMPING SESSION!!

I am so far behind in my blogging.  To try and catch up a little I am going to hit you with a lot at once.  Apologies in advance for this 🙂  A couple of weeks ago I had a lovely time with my stamping buddy, Leonie N.  It was a great little overnight visit and we accomplished a lot in 24 hours.  It’s amazing what you can achieve when you don’t have interruptions like cooking dinner or picking kids up from school!!!

I thought I might spread these out over a few days but time is getting on.  I won’t be giving long descriptions on them, but really they are so simple.  I’m sure you can work them out.  After all, we worked them out even at unearthly hours in the morning!!  Who needs sleep when you can stamp!

Here you go!

This was a card inspired by a few similar I had seen around.  (Ok, well Leonie did it first then I CASED her!)

A Scallop circle card I created for a private class I did recently.  Stamp set is “Flower Fest”.

CASED from Kim here.  I love her style.

This card was CASED from Chris here.  I used the flower from “Language of Friendship”  This was stamped first and then ran through the Square Lattice EF.  Colours are Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive – always a nice combination!

CASED from Joanna here using “Just Believe”.  This was a set I haven’t used for a while.  It was good to give it a stamp up!

I CASED this from Leonie.  I wasn’t really taken with this set “Open Sea” from the Summer Mini but it is growing on me.  The DSP is Nautical Expedition also from the Mini.

Well that about covers most of the cards we did on our stamping day.  It was a fun time and I don’t think I have made so many cards at one time.

Thanks for looking.  See you again soon.
