WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #150 – OUTLINE YOUR DIES.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #150 – Outline your dies on the card insert.

Firstly – 150 WOW’s! That’s a lot of tips and tricks with your cardmaking that I have shared over the last few years. I hope they have been helpful for you. If you have missed some you can do check the “TAGS” in the side bar on my blog for Wednesday’s WOW! and it will come up with a lot of them.

Thanks for following along with me.

For today’s tip. Do you find when you take the dies off the card sheet you can never get them back right. It’s a bit of a game of Tetris.

So BEFORE you take them off, grab a pen or pencil and trace around the dies. Then you can easily put them back in place and it will show you if any are missing. Sometimes I add a magnetic sheet to my die card so you could trace around your magnetic sheet too if you do that.

SUNDAY SUITES – LET’S GO FISHING!

Today with Sunday Suites we will have a look at the Let’s Go Fishing Suite.

It’s coming up to Father’s Day next month here in Australia. So perhaps this might work for some Aussie readers for the men in their life. And it’s not just for the fishermen.

The full Let’s Go Fishing Suite Collection.

The Suite includes:

  • GONE FISHING PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET
  • GONE FISHING DIES (If you get the dies and stamps as a bundle you save 10%).
  • TWISTED ROPE 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER
  • LET’S GO FISHING 12″ X 12″ (30.5 X 30.5 CM) DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

The Gone Fishing Bundle.

I love how there is even the die for a tackle box. But I have seen that used for lots of other images too.

Here is the Let’s Go Fishing Paper in more detail. There are some prints that you can use for any occasion not just for the fisherman (or fisherwoman). 🙂

The colours in the paper are: Boho Blue, Calypso Coral, Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow, Pebbled Path, Pecan Pie, Petal Pink, Very Vanilla, Wild Wheat.

What about this Twisted Rope 3D Embossing Folder. It looks pretty cool. You can see a sample using it further below. But consider using it for other “non-masculine” cards even. What fun!

Now for a sample group. Lots of ideas.

You can see a bit clearer on this card below how you can use the Twisted Roper Embossing Folder. It adds quite a bit of texture. If you rub some ink over with a Blending Brush it highlights some of the “rope”.

The Let’s Go Fishing Suite can be seen more in my store -> HERE.

And you can shop there too if you need some crafting supplies and you are in Australia. If shopping online please use the Host Code: R663PWDW.

Or contact me directly.

Have a great day,

SPOTLIGHTING TECHNIQUE WITH A VIDEO!

I’m back with another video for you. This one is using the Spotlighting Technique. Have you tried it?

The Spotlighting Technique is highlighting a part of an image with colour. The part highlighted can be created by diecutting any shape eg circle or square. The section can be raised up or sunk below the card mat.

You can see the video below to see how it is done. I share another version too in the video so stay tuned.

This is the card I created using the Irresistible Blooms. The sentiment is from the Nature’s Prints Stamp set and diecut with the Natural Prints dies.

It is a standard size card base. I have cut the card sheet down vertically for a different look.

The exact measurements I will send out in my newsletter this week. By the way, Are you on my newsletter?? You can head to the side bar, there is a tab there.

I will let you go and watch the video now. I hope you get to make one.

Happy Crafting,

WEDNESDAY’S WOW #149 – HOLD DOWN THOSE DIES!

Wednesday’s WOW! #149 – Stop those dies moving.

Do you find your dies wriggle around and slip when you cut them?

Here’s a tip. Add a little Washi Tape to them. Or you could add a little tape. If you use tape you may want to dab it on your clothes or something to take off some of the sticky.

Check it out below.

Do you do this already? It’s a good idea.

Hope it helps you out if you didn’t know.

SUNDAY SUITES – BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL SUITE!

Sunday Suites today with the Bright and Beautiful Suite.

With lots of celebrations this suite provides lots of festive designs and images to create with. The colours in the papers are bright and patterned too for fun projects.

You can create peek-through cards, gift tags, and more to celebrate birthdays, graduation, and achievements of all sorts.

Let’s see what is in the Beautiful Balloons Suite.

The suite includes:

  • The Beautiful Balloons Bundle (Stamps and Dies)
  • The Bright and Beautiful 6″x6″ (15.2cm x 15.2cm) Designer Series Paper.
  • Gold Celebrations 12″ x 12″ (30.5cm x 30.5cm) Specialty Designer Series Paper. 3 sheets – 1 each of 3 designs

The Beautiful Balloons Bundle. It certainly is a fun, festive set and check the fringing die. You can create some fringed finishes on your project OR I have recently seen someone roll it up and create fringed flowers. Try that idea out. 🙂

Lots of great bright colours in the Beautiful Balloons Designer Series Paper. The colours in this paper are Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lime Twist, Lemon Lolly, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Pretty Peacock.

This is the Gold Celebrations Specialty Paper.

Now what about some projects with this suite.

See how the fringing can work.

Make a Shaker card with some sequins and it has some of the Gold Specialty Paper to layer on the top of the shaker part. That’s a fun element.

You can see the Beautiful Balloons Suite in my store -> HERE.

If you are in Australia and need to order you can head to that link OR contact me directly and I am happy to serve you.

Have a Happy Sunday,

Jenny

ANOTHER EVERLASTING BEAUTY CARD!

I have another Everlasting Beauty Card for you. I have actually loved creating these cards. I’m not a huge lover of colouring but these have been relatively easy to colour.

The Waratah flower was coloured with the Pencils. The paper mat is from the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper.

The sentiment is from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp set. It was stamped in Versamark on black card and heat embossed in white.

The Everlasting Beauty stamp set is so lovely. It’s great that many of these lovely flowers are found in Australia.

If you would like this stamp set to create beautiful projects then you can grab this from my store -> HERE. Please use the Host Code: QXJQDQ9U OR contact me directly.

I hope you get to create some beautiful cards with this set.

EVERLASTING BEAUTY – NEARLY BINNED!!

I’m sharing this card with you today but I can tell you it nearly didn’t happen. I coloured the flowers from the Everlasting Beauty stamp set – and I hated it! I tossed it aside and that was my crafting done for the day. Do you ever feel like that??

The next day I picked it up. I still didn’t love it but thought maybe I could do something with it. So I finished the card and actually it wasn’t so bad. So here it is.

The flowers were coloured with the Stampin’ Blends. And the flowers were stamped in Gorgeous Grape on White card to create a background. The Old Olive card strip was embossed with the Stripes and Splatters 3D Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from the Go-To Greetings Stamp Set.

So I thought I would share – if you feel discouraged with a card firstly, don’t be hard on yourself. If need be step away from it, put it aside. Later maybe come back with fresh eyes and see that it may not be too bad. And really aren’t we our worst critic.

Have a Happy day and Be Kind to yourself.
