WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #141 – WHAT’S THIS LOVELY LAYERS VELLUM!

Wednesday’s WOW! #141 – See the Lovely Layers Vellum.

You might have missed this vellum in the Annual Catalogue. You can find it on page 93 and p139.

I love using vellum on projects. It adds a subtle softness. This vellum though comes printed in various patterns. You can use them as they are directly on your projects. But did you know you can stamp on this vellum too to add that extra dimension??

Check these samples out below. Created by Stampin’ Up! artists.

On these projects below.

Left – Stamp directly on the vellum. Be careful using Classic Inks as the ink will slip on the vellum paper. Allow to dry completely too.

Centre – Layer the Vellum on coloured card. See how it changes the colour of the pattern.

Right – Use the Vellum directly to the project and layer other elements to the front.

For this project below apply colour to the back of the vellum with the Stampin’ Blends. Then swirl the colours with the Water Painter and Rubbing Alcohol. Allow to dry.

A different Look for this one. Add strips of the different vellum patterns but stamp on them first.

How exciting we get a day all to ourselves to celebrate this wonderful craft of Card Making.

You know what I love about making cards?

I can make something special and send it to someone to let them know I am thinking of them. I love how it makes them smile.

And I love that I can share card making with others whether it is crafting together, talking about making cards or teaching (hopefully inspiring) them.

This Saturday is World Card Making Day. Yes, it’s a day we get to celebrate all the fun we have.

STAMPIN’ UP! TREE TRIMMINGS DIES ADD THAT EXTRA TOUCH!

There are some special new dies this month. I especially like the Stampin’ Up! Tree Trimmings Dies. I loved the Trimming the Tree stamp set when I first saw it in the Annual Catalogue and having the dies now (only for this month) is a real bonus.

See how you have the sweet ornaments. Also the bow diecut. There is a different version of the bow too and some pot dies.

You can easily lift the detail branches in this particular tree die with the spatula end of the Take Your Pick Tool.

SENDING CHRISTMAS CHEER WITH TRIMMING THE TREE STAMP SET!

This week we have started our Christmas cards in classes. I wanted to share this one with you.

With the Lights Aglow Specialty paper and Trimming the Tree stamp set it makes for a gorgeous Christmas Card. It has just that bit of Gold to make it elegant don’t you think?

The diecut for the sentiment actually comes from the Tree Trimmings Dies. These are available for only this month as a bonus with the Perfect Partners Promotion. They have some great sentiment dies and tree dies and little ornaments. I will share more with the stamps and dies shortly.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #140 – MAKE YOUR OWN PEARLIZED DOTS AND STRIPES!

Wednesday’s WOW! #140 – Pearlized Dots.

This is so cool. You can create your own shiny, pearly dots or lines with the Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics.

See them below.

The Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics come in 3 little bottles (1oz or 29.5g each), in Red, Black and White lacquer.

With them you can create some really special elements for your projects.

  • Outline your stamped images to add some extra depth.
  • Add extra details like dots or lines.
  • Add detail to part of a stamped image or other embellishment piece.
  • Write words to give a “raised” effect.
  • Draw shapes like stars or hearts.

Here are some ideas how to use them.

Add little dots around the wreath to create little “berries”.

Add the white to the end of the Textural Elements or similar to make a shiny surface.

How would you use it?
