CARDS FOR THE BOYS – TECHNIQUE CLASS – PART 1!

In this class discover some fun techniques you can use on those hard to make Cards for the boys.  This is Part 1 of some fun techniques we will be trying out.  Later parts will happen in the coming months in my Technique Series.

This class will look at 2 different techniques.  Create a sampler to test it out and then create a card with each technique.

The sampler and instructions you can keep and build up in a notebook or folder to refer back to regularly.

Class includes card kits and basic instructions.

Can’t make it?  Grab the Class to Go.  (See below).

WHEN: Friday 24th March 10am or Saturday 25th March 2pm in the studio

COST: $25. 

BYO: Scissors and adhesives and Paper Trimmer if you have one.

Includes card kits for the cards and samplers and Basic instructions.

Stamped images are not included but you can substitute with what you have for the images.  The important part is the techniques to try.

STAMPIN’ UP! IRRESISTIBLE BLOOMS HOORAY

Today’s card is one from our Irresistible Blooms Class last Friday. I think this was the favourite by everyone of the cards we made.

The softness of the Soft Seafoam with the POP of Daffodil Delight is a good contrast. I love white embossed sentiments on black.

Another idea of this was layering the stamped card piece on to White card. It just gives a subtle background adding to the softness.

This card was inspired by one by Jaimie -> HERE.

I have been sharing a few cards with this lovely bundle. If you have missed them then pop back a few posts. I’m sure there is more to come too. 🙂

A DOTTY PEEKABOO WINDOW CARD WITH IRRESISTIBLE BLOOMS!

Today is a great Fold card with a little interesting window. It makes such a fun addition. And I have a video to share some tips when you create it.

I have used the Irresistible Blooms Bundle and Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper.

This is the card.

Don’t you just love that “dotty” strip. It’s so cool!

And for the inside of the card.

Just a tip with this paper. The Paper colours include Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon. These were current as In Colors a few years back.

Why have they included these now???

Well they are coming back. Yes! They will be part of the Regular Colour Collections starting in the new catalogue in May.

Watch out! It looks like a little Colour Refresh is happening. More on that in the coming weeks. It will be all revealed on the 29th March.

I share a tip in this video. If you don’t have the those colours as yet. I found using the Evening Evergreen and stamping off one time. It matched so close. But Evening Evergreen will be going at the end of this current catalogue. It’s a good short term fix for now.

IRRESISTIBLE BLOOMS WITH SCORING!

I have a card to share with you that I shared creating on an Instagram Reel just recently. I thought I would share it with you here today.

This card uses the Irresistible Blooms Stamps and Dies and the Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper. I have shared lots already with it. It is so gorgeous.

You can get a look of blending in the background of the circle using one of the prints in the Hello Irresistible Paper. You don’t have the mess with it.

What I particularly wanted to point out to you is the Scored lines. See them better in this image below top and bottom of the words.

To create the scored lines:

  • Stamp the sentiment. Measure the distance below the sentiment and above giving a little space either side.
  • Flip the card over. Using the Paper Trimmer and the Scoring Blade score a line near the bottom which would be below the sentiment.
  • Score higher up which should be just above the sentiment. Score another line just above that.

You can try a scored line vertically. Try a frame around the card. There are so many options. I hope you get to try one yourself.

A SKETCH CHALLENGE WITH HELLO IRRESISTIBLE!

On my Private Facebook Group I set a little sketch challenge this weekend to help inspire the members in their creating.

This is the Sketch. (This was from Julie Davison).

I had a little play myself today. This is the card I created.

This card was very quick to put together. There was very little stamping. The Hello, Irresistible Paper was the star.

The white background was embossed with one of the folders in the Basics 3D Embossing Folders set. I have to say there are 3 Embossing Folders in this set and they are all great designs.

The sentiment piece was diecut with a die from the Harvest Dies.

SOMETHING NEW – IRRESISTIBLE BLOOMS!

Something new is coming tomorrow. – Irresistible Blooms. Ooh! It is so gorgeous. ❤

I’m not going to say too much about it now but you will want to check back tomorrow.

Here is just one card I have created with this recently.

The paper is so gorgeous. For this one I have just cut a mat sized piece of the lovely print and then cut it in to 3. Layering it then on white card and on the Calypso Coral Card Base.

The leaves were diecut from one of the other prints in the pack. And the little “dotty strips” were added from the die set.

BY THE BAY SUITE CARDS FOR SUMMER CRAFTASTIC!

We will start off with 2 of the cards for our Weekend Summer Craftastic Event.

These ones were using the By The Bay Suite. These were very popular and it was great seeing people’s versions of them. You don’t have to make the cards exactly as they are.

Stampin' Up! By the Bay Suite _ Birdie

The shell was diecut with the Shimmery Textured Paper. It adds a little sparkle and the texture adds an extra dimension. The By The Bay Specialty Paper is great with the colour variations. You can make a beachy scene without colouring it.

Stampin' Up! By The Bay _ Clam

The blue on this card is using the Shimmery Textured Paper. Did I mention the lovely Shimmer and texture you get. 🙂

It’s hard to see in this but the By The Bay paper has a little shine on it.

The Clam shell was stamped in Night of Navy and then using the markers I gently swiped over with Petal Pink and Balmy Blue to add some colour.

It was such a great event.

BY THE BAY SUITE – CHOCOLATE TREATS!

We had our Summer Craftastic Event this past weekend. I will share some of the creating fun with you over the next few posts. Of course I did forget to take a photo of the groups on each day. Too busy creating and chatting. But I will share the projects.

Firstly, I want to share the little Chocolate Treat Bags I created for each guest.

The tag was cut with the Designer Tags Dies. I trimmed off the bottom edge and added a strip of the By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper. It’s lovely paper with the shiny images on one side and prints on the other side.

Being “seaside” paper the Shell Chocolates suited well for these little treat bags.

And of course the lovely sentiment for each person with a clam and a Flat Adhesive Pearl. The diecut shell added was diecut with the Shimmery Textured Paper.
