CHRISTMASTIME TALL BOX!

The Christmastime is Here Suite has been with us all month.  I have been so busy with projects for Onstage that I haven’t had near enough time with it.  I have been using the papers particularly though.

Recently I made a tall gift box using the Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I have had lots of lovely comments from class members when they see the box so thought you might like to see it yourself.

I love that this paper has the gold embossed outlines over one side of the paper.  There are 3 different designs in the pack with some type of gold touches.  It is gorgeous.  AND I love that this paper could easily be used for any occasion not just Christmas.

Here is the box I made.  Fill it with chocolates for a lovely friend, wrap around some of the gorgeous Gold ribbon and add a sentiment piece.  What more do you need.

The sentiment is from the set A Big Thank You.  The flowers were fussy cut from some of the paper.

Here is how to make your own Tall box.

CHRISTMASTIME IS HERE TALL BOX TUTORIAL

Cut card to 21cm x 21cm (8 ¼” x 8 ¼”)

Score on one side at 5cm and 19cm (2”, 7 ½”)

Turn and score on the other side at 5cm, 10cm, 15cm and 20cm.

(2”, 4”, 6”, 8”)

Card mats for the side: 4 each of 4.6cm x 13.6cm (1 7/8” x 5 3/8”)

Designer Series Paper: 4 each of 4.2cm x 13.2cm (1 ¾” x 5 ¼”)

Scraps for decorating.

Gold Ribbon

1. Fold on all score lines.

2. On the long side cut up on the score lines to the score line that runs across. This creates your tabs to fold up. Cut up each tab on both the top of the card and the bottom. The smaller tabs will be the bottom of the box. The larger tabs will form the top of the box.

3. On the short side of the card cut on the 2 score lines that are on the very narrow tab. Cut off completely the top tab and the bottom tab so you only have a narrow tab section in the middle.

4. Adhere the paper pieces to the card mat pieces and adhere them all to the sides of the box. You can adhere them after the box is assembled but it is a little easier to do it first.

To assemble the box:

5. Fold the score lines to form a box shape. Place adhesive on the outside of the narrow side tab and adhere the box together. On the small tabs at the bottom place adhesive on the outside of 3 of the tabs and fold in adhering them together on top of each other. Fold the last unglued tab over the top.

6. The top flaps will fold in and will hold together with wrapping the ribbon around.

7. Decorate the box as you like.

It’s hard to see in the photo below with the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series paper but there are little gold streaks through the paper on one side of the prints.  The other side has plain Christmas prints.

ELEGANT CHRISTMASTIME IS HERE!

You have read about the Christmastime Is Here Suite.  I have posted about it a little.  It’s a limited edition suite available now until the supplies are out.

I received the gorgeous Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper recently and just had to try it out.

With this gorgeous paper you don’t need to do too much.

One side of each print has beautiful Gold embossed lines. I cut around one of the larger images on one of the designs of paper.  Layering this on another of the gorgeous prints and layering that on some Mossy Green card.

The sentiment was heat embossed in Gold and diecut with a rectangle from the Rectangles Stitched Dies.  I showed a post or 2 back how you could layer this sentiment on to one of the diecut frames in the Ornate Frames Dies.  I just love that effect.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #88 – CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN PROJECT KIT!

It’s Wednesday.  Time for another Wednesday’s WOW!  Since Christmas it fast approaching I thought we would look at a fun Christmas project – the Christmas Countdown Project Kit. Although the elements in this kit are for Christmas it’s a great project that you can use for other countdowns or even storing some little items.  What about embellishments in your craft room?

The kit contains the box elements and all the supplies to create 25 boxes.

You can see this kit in action in this video.

So what could you use this for yourself other than Christmas?  Maybe a Birthday Countdown,  Countdown to a special holiday,  Perhaps a rewards box with treats in it for your young children in the family or at school for a teacher.  Or some people have used this in the craft room for storage of those small embellishments or punch-outs.  And you can dress it up any way you like.  Don’t be limited to the supplies in the kit.

STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD BLOGHOP – BRIGHTLY GLEAMING!

It’s time for another Stamping Around The World Blog Hop. You might have come from Sue’s Blog ->HERE.

Today I have a card using the Brightly Gleaming Suite for you.  This is a Flap Fold style of card.

The card was inspired by one that was shared on Lee Ann’s blog -> HERE. I will give you the measurements below though before you are on your way to the next blog.

FLAP FOLD CARD

Card Base: 10.5cm x 14.8cm  (4 1/4″ x 5 1/4″)

Night of Navy card: 8.5cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm  (3 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″)

Designer Series Paper: 8.1cm x 10.1cm ( 3″ x 4″)

Whisper White card (inside): 8.1cm x 10.1cm (3″ x 4″)

Scrap card for stamping ornaments and Copper Foil for Stitched Circle.

 

The base card is a single piece with the “flap” of card of Night of Navy adhered on to the top.

It is such an easy fold of card to make.  I hope you get to try one yourself.

MINI CHRISTMAS GLEAMING SUITE!

Last month I went to a Doll and Craft Show.  We had a little card that people could make. I thought you might like to see it.

This uses the Brightly Gleaming Suite – the Brightly Gleaming bundle with the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and the Ornaments Punch.  It is also using the gorgeous Christmas Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Don’t you just love that gorgeous paper?

The card is just a small one.  It measures 10cm square or 4″.  Just the cute size and would be great on a gift for Christmas.

This first card uses the stamps to fill-in the rose and leaves outlines.

PLAYFUL PENGUINS TAGS!

I have shared some cards with the Playful Penguins lately so I thought I would show you these cute tags.  I received them as a swap at our Team Meeting last week.  This was made by Barbara.  They are just too cute not to share.

I won’t give you too many details on them.  I think they are easy to see how they are done by looking at them.  The tag shape is cut from Whisper White card and the angles cut.  You could use the Paper Trimmer or scissors.

Products used:  Playful Penguins, Jingle Bells, Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, Everyday Label Punch.

Colours: Shaded Spruce, Real Red, Basic Gray.
