STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD JUNE BLOG HOP!

Time for another Blog Hop with the Stamping Around The World Tutorial Group.  We bring you different Tutorials each month and join together in a Blog Hop.

This month I am using the Tasteful Touches Bundle.  I have loved using this bundle the last few weeks.  It is so gorgeous.

Here is my project for you.

The flower is stamped over the white card with Basic Gray ink.  It just makes a simple statement.  The flower is stamped again on scrap white card and this one coloured with the Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.  The flower is fussy cut out with scissors.

The sentiment piece is stamped on Sahara Sand and diecut with the small banner shape from the Tasteful Labels Dies.  I thought the flower was a little bare so added a scallop circle cut from Vellum.  This scallop is cut with the scallop die in the the Tasteful Label Dies set.

Card measurements:

Thick Whisper White card base: 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm   (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″)

Flirty Flamingo card: 8.5cm x 12.8cm (3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″)

Whisper White card: 8.1cm x 12.4cm (3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″)

Scrap card pieces: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Vellum.

Also used:

Tasteful Touches Bundle, Many Mates stamp set.

Memento Ink, Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends (light and Dark), Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, Adhesive Pearls.

STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD MARCH BLOG HOP – THOUGHTFUL BLOOMS!

Time for another Blog Hop with the Stamping Around The World Tutorial Group.  We put together Tutorial Bundles to send out to those who order each month with any of us and then bring you more inspiration with the Monthly Blog Hops.

This month for my tutorial I used the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set so I am using that in my project for you today for the Blog Hop.

This is a sweet set available as one of your free choices for Sale-A-Bration.  I chose to keep the cards simple for you with a little stamping and masking.

For the card above I first masked off a strip down near the bottom of the card to allow for space the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday To You Stamp set. Of course that step is optional though.

Then I stamped the Flirty Flamingo flowers over the card.  I stamped some under the strip just to have some over the edge of the masked area.

Then finished with stamping flowers in Gorgeous Grape and the leaves in Granny Apple Green and Pear Pizzazz.

Before adhering this piece to the Flirty Flamingo card mat and the Thick Whisper White card base I ran it through with the Subtles Embossing Folder to give it some texture.

For the second Card I masked off the area this time in the right hand bottom corner after stamping the Thank You from the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp set.

Using the same colours I stamped the flowers and leaves.

The white card wasn’t embossed on this one but you could do that.  It was adhered to Gorgeous Grape card mat and then to a Whisper White card base.

Another flower in Flirty Flamingo was stamped on scrap white card and punched out with the Small Bloom Punch also available for Sale-A-Bration.

They are simple cards but I hope they inspire you in some way.

Now head off on the rest of the Blog Hop by following along by clicking on the blue frog below.

Have a great day,

STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD FEBRUARY BLOGHOP – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Time for another Blog Hop with the Stamping Around The World Tutorial Group.  This month I am sharing a project with the Happy Birthday To You stamp set as that is the stamp set I used for the Tutorials this month.

I wanted to try something a little different with the dies.  I wanted to layer up the flowers on the card to give more dimension.  A bit like the old Paper Tole effect.  You can tell in the photo how it looks.

I stamped the cake from Happy Birthday To You on white card 3 times.  I used Basic Gray ink as it is a little softer.  I coloured just the cake on one, and then the flowers on the other 2 cakes.  They were coloured with Stampin’ Blends (Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive).  The cake was coloured with Mint Macaron.

On one of the cakes (the one without the flowers coloured in), I cut the full cake out with the Birthday Dies.  On the other two cakes I cut the flowers out with the flower die.  On one of these diecut flowers I trimmed off the top flower to have just a single flower.

Then diecut some leaves from Old Olive and Mint Macaron and adhere them behind the flowers before assembling them together.  You will find it so much easier – trust me!! 😉

After all the diecutting you can layer the cake together using Dimensionals to layer up the flowers.  The full diecut flowers was layered on to the diecut cake and then the single flower was raised up on top of these flowers.  If that makes sense?  So there were 3 layers with the top flowers.  Check the photo below to see it.

To finish the card I adhered a piece of the Perennial Essence paper on to a white card mat and then they were adhered to a Flirty Flamingo card base.

A rectangle from Vellum was cut from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  To adhere this to the card I added a little Snail Adhesive  behind where the cake would be and then the cake was adhered on to the Vellum with Dimensionals.

The little sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings and cut with the cute little shape in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD JANUARY BLOG HOP – TROPICAL OASIS!

Back with another Blog Hop from some of the Stamping Around The World Tutorial group.

The monthly tutorials are put together by a number of demonstrators from around the world and we send the tutorials out as a Thanks for ordering OR you can purchase the tutorials too.  I send one tutorial project out as a Thanks for people when they join my newsletter too. (see the link in the side column)

For the projects with these Blog Hops we use the same stamp sets/dies that we used for our own tutorial project for that month.  This month I have a project for you using the Tropical Oasis bundle. I am loving this bundle for it’s freshness and memories of a tropical paradise.  I have been to Hawaii a few times so this brings back lovely memories.

Enough waffling – on to my project as that is what you all really came to see.

This card was designed from a sketch like this one -> HERE.

The sketch had an angled focus piece which I have created with the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper.  I think on looking at this now I should have angled the paper piece a little more.

The white card was embossed with the new Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder.

The hibiscus flower and the leaves from the Timeless Tropical Stamp set were stamped on Shimmery White card with Black Stazon and coloured with the Watercolor Pencils.

TIP: when colouring, lightly colour and use the Aquapainter to wash over the colour slightly.  LET IT DRY! Don’t be in a hurry.  Allow time to dry.  It doesn’t take too long.  Then add some more colour to add a little more depth of colour.  Wash over it again then allow to dry. Then go back over it and add highlights.  It is a slow process I know but it gives you that depth of colour. It’s easier to add colour than take it away.

Before adhering the flower and leaves on to the card I added some loops of the Linen Thread behind them.

The sentiment was stamped on Crumb Cake card and cut with my new favourite the Stitched So sweetly Dies.  I added a little of the Braided Burlap Trim under the sentiment and just fluffed up the end of it.  To do this with your fingers rub the end and separate the threads until you are happy with it.  To adhere it to the back of the card I added a strip of the Tear and Tape on the back of the sentiment card piece and stuck the trim onto that.

If you want to check the Tropical Oasis suite, head to my store -> HERE.  You can order there too.  Don’t forget the HOST CODE: R26WHBUN

STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD DECEMBER BLOG HOP!

We have another Blog Hop for you today with the Stamping Around The World Tutorial group.  As I used the Itty Bitty Christmas in my project for the Tutorial this month I am sharing another project for the Blog Hop.

You might have come from Alicia’s Blog HERE or starting from my corner of the world.  Enjoy this little hop around the world.  Here is my project for this month.

I wanted to create a different card using the Christmas Layers dies and not just diecutting them and adding them to the card.  So I diecut one of the dies from scrap paper and used that as a mask on the white card and then sponged through with the Seaside Spray ink and the sponge dauber.  It creates a fun effect.

I had to use those Playful Penguins of course.  I am sad they will be retiring.  If you haven’t got these cute guys you better get on it.  They are only available while supplies last.  And really they aren’t just for Christmas. 🙂

The penguin is stamped in Basic Gray and the scarf in Seaside Spray ink.  They were both hand cut with scissors.  I like to leave a little white edge around the shape as it is a little softer visually.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas set.  How sparkly is the Seaside Spray ribbon?? It is a little hard to tell in the photo.   A smaller snowflake star was cut from the Sparkle Glimmer Paper.

Just a note too:

The Itty Bitty Christmas stamps and the Christmas Layers dies will be carrying over but not as a Bundle so buying them now will save you 10%.  Check them out in my store along with the cute Playful Penguins stamp set -> HERE.

Now continue on the Blog Hop.  Just click on the little blue frog below.

Happy Hopping,

It’s time for another Stamping Around The World Blog Hop. You might have come from Sue’s Blog ->HERE.

Today I have a card using the Brightly Gleaming Suite for you.  This is a Flap Fold style of card.

The card was inspired by one that was shared on Lee Ann’s blog -> HERE. I will give you the measurements below though before you are on your way to the next blog.

FLAP FOLD CARD

Card Base: 10.5cm x 14.8cm  (4 1/4″ x 5 1/4″)

Night of Navy card: 8.5cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm  (3 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″)

Whisper White card (inside): 8.1cm x 10.1cm (3″ x 4″)

OCTOBER STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD BLOGHOP – MAGNOLIAS!

Back with you again for another Blog Hop with the Stamping Around The World Tutorial team. Using the same stamp set we have used in our tutorial project for the month I have used the Magnolia Blooms stamp set.  You might have come from Allie’s blog -> HERE. or starting on your way from this post. Either way, enjoy the hop.

I won’t give you all the specific card sizes but it is the standard card size. Each layer (the black and the white) are 4mm or 1/8” smaller in size. The paper strip from the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper is the length of the white card and 4 1/2 cm or 1 3/4” width.

On the white card stamp the Magnolia with Memento black. Then adhere the paper strip along the bottom. Wrap around the Black Ribbon before adhering it to the black card mat.

On scrap white card stamp the Magnolia again with Memento and colour it with the Stampin’ Blends. I used Petal Pink and Granny Apple Green. Hand cut that out and adhere it on to a Vellum circle.

The sentiment is heat embossed in Copper and cut with the small Rectangles Stitched dies and layered on to the little Ornate Frames Dies.

Now you can continue on your hop.  Click the link button below or you can head straight to Stefanie’s blog -> HERE.

PENGUIN EASEL FOR SEPTEMBER STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD BLOGHOP!

It’s time for September Blog Hop with the Stamping Around the World Tutorial Group.  You might have come from Sue’s Blog or starting here.

For our Blog Hop we use the stamp set/bundle that we used in this month’s Tutorial Bundle that are sent out.  Of course I used the Playful Penguins set from the new 2019 Holiday Catalogue. They are just too cute.

For this Blog Hop I have made probably the easiest Easel card you could create.  The idea came from Lou’s blog -> HERE.

Let me show you the card and I will tell you how I have made it.

Front View

From Top

Side View

Folded card

To create the Super Simple Easel Card

See the ‘Side View’ photo above to get an idea of the fold.

Cut card to the standard size base card whether you are using Metric or the Imperial US card size.

Score 2.5 cm (1″) on the front of the card base. Fold on the score line.  This is for the fold of the Easel.

Cut a strip of card 2.5cm wide (1″) and the length being the width of the card.

I added a strip of the Christmas Gleaming stripe pattern on this piece of card. This strip is then adhered to the bottom edge of the inside of the card with dimensionals.  This strip creates the anchor point to hold the Easel up.

Decorate

Decorate the Easel card as you like.

I cut a curved strip of Sparkle Glimmer Paper and adhered it on the folded tab.  3 Penguins were stamped with their scarves and then hand-cut and raised up off the Glimmer Paper.  A piece of the Christmas Gleaming Designer Series Paper was adhered to the front of the card which you can see as the star pattern on the top panel.

The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white card but check out the flourish banner Gold Foil.  That was cut using the Ornate Frames Dies from the Holiday Catalogue.

Such an easy card to create but so fun with these penguins.

WILDLY HAPPY FOR STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD AUGUST BLOGHOP!

Welcome to another Stamping Around The World Blog Hop.  So nice to have you.  You might have come from Margriet’s Blog or just starting Here.  Welcome and enjoy the hop.

Today I am using the set Wildly Happy as that was the one I used in the Tutorials for this month.

I wanted to do something a little different with this set.  I was thinking about this recently and was reminded that when you see pictures of elephants they are often in herds.  I did a little research and read that they are very social especially the female of the species and will keep close together looking out for each other.

So I created a little herd of elephants with the little baby.

Stampin' Up! Wildly Happy

To create this I used the Masking Technique. I have explained it further below. The elephants were stamped on Thick Whisper White card and coloured with the Smoky Slate Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends and I also used the Petal Pink ones for the baby.  The grass was with the Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

MASKING YOUR ELEPHANTS

A piece of Thick Whisper White. Cut the card using one of the larger Rectangles Stitched dies.

Note: I didn’t cut the card with the Rectangles Stitched Die until after I finished stamping and colouring the elephant so it is ok to leave it until then if you wish.

1. Firstly you will want to stamp your elephant on to a Sticky Note or you can use scrap paper with some removable adhesive.  Cut around the outline of the image.  For this card you will need to stamp 3 elephants in total on the Sticky Notes as you will use them all at one time in places.

2. Stamp your elephant and baby near the bottom right hand corner. Inking the stamp in Memento Ink.  Place one of your cut out Sticky Note elephants over the top of the image.  Ink up your stamp and stamp again just to the top left of the first one.  You will want to line it up so you just have the larger elephant shown.

3. Ink and stamp another elephant to the top right of the first one. The baby one should be just off the edge of the card but that is ok.

4. Place 3 of the Sticky Note elephants over each of the stamped elephants.

Masking Technique

5. Stamp another elephant in between the top 2 elephants.  And one elephant to the left of the left Sticky Note elephant.  Each time remember to line the elephant up to just stamp the adult one.

6. Move a Sticky Note to the last elephant stamped on the left and then ink and stamp another one to the left of this.

Once stamped you can then colour the elephants with the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and colour the little baby one with Petal Pink.  I found them very easy to colour.  Using the Light Smoky Slate Blends colour the elephants completely.  Then using the Dark Blends add lines over the printed lines (wrinkles) on the elephants.

To assemble the card, emboss the Smoky Slate card, 10.1cm x 14.4cm (5⅜” x 4⅛”)  with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder and wrap around a length of the Petal Pink ribbon. Then adhere this to the Petal Pink Card base. Raise up the stamped card piece to the front.

Stamp the sentiment on Petal Pink card and cut with an oval die in the Stitched Shapes Dies.  Then raise that up off the card with Dimensionals.

Wildly Happy _ Elephant Herd

Enjoy making this card.  Try the masking Technique with any stamped image.
