MORE EASTER BAGS AND TREATS!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to you all.  I hope that the weekend will be a great one with those you love and that you remember the greatest act of Love we have been given as we celebrate this time.

Last post I shared some cute Easter baskets.  I thought I would share another Easter bag as well as some Easter tags.  It’s not too late to whip these up right! This bag and the basket from last post plus these 2 tags are ones we made at my Easter class last week.

This little treat bag was inspired by a project I found on Pinterest but you can find the tutorial HERE. It’s very easy to make.  For mine I decorated it with the chick from ‘Honeycomb Happiness’.  This is such a great image for Easter don’t you think?  I stamped it on Shimmery White and coloured it with the Crushed Curry inkpad and the aquapainter. I cut the image with the Circles Framelits and layered it on a Crushed Curry card cut with the ‘Deco Labels’ Framelits.  The strip of DSP is from the ‘It’s My Party’ Paper Stack. I decided to stamp the greeting on Vellum in Black Stazon so it didn’t cover the chick too much. The greeting is from the ‘Easter Lamb’ stamp.  On the bag I punched the corners of the card with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch and added a slit with the punch too. I embossed the card with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder too. Cute!

Inside there is a separate little box that you adhere to the inside.  It is so easy.

We made a similar tag.  This time I cut some of the DSP with the Deco Labels Framelits and I cut one with Whisper White as well to adhere together for added strength and also to have white card to write on the back.

I added a White Cotton Ribbon bow and some White Baker’s Twine to hang from it.

image-6138

This next tag we made was using the Easter Lamb stamp.  So cute.  The lamb was stamped on Sahara Sand and coloured with the White Gel Pen after it was  cut with the Circles Framelits. I cut some DSP from the Bohemian DSP with the ‘Lots of Labels’ Framelits and also a larger one from Bermuda Bay.  I tied through some Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine. A little flower was added punched in Crushed Curry with the ‘Itty Bitty Accents’ Punch Pack. The greeting is from ‘Teeny Tiny Sentiments’ and I cut this one with the Bitty Banners Framelits.

Now you can whip these up in no time – or file them away for next year 😉

Have a lovely Easter time.  Visit again soon,

Jenny

WHY I LOVE SHARING STAMPING??

Three posts in one day. What is happening!  Today I have been feeling a little reflective and I thought I would share some things with you.  I have been on this journey with Stampin’ Up! for 7 1/2 years now.  It has been a crazy time. You know I still don’t know all there is to stamping and cardmaking.  There is always fun new techniques and products to play around with.  Sometimes I wonder why am I doing this though.

I always come back to the conclusion that I love sharing stamping with others.  I love sharing my projects with you here on my blog.  (I do hope you like what I share – if you don’t well I guess you won’t come back will you!! LOL).  I love sharing my projects with my customers in my class room. It’s always a fun time and I have to say that sometimes they laugh at my expense.  Well hey, I am not perfect am I.  There are never any mistakes in stamping though right. 🙂  I love it though when new people I meet have that smile on their face that says “I did it!” after continually telling me that they are not crafty.

I love sharing projects I make with others too to give as gifts or to celebrate an occasion. That’s what it is all about. Sharing with others.  I am thankful to Stampin’ Up! for enabling me to do this.  Without Stampin’ Up!  I wouldn’t have fantastic products to use, I wouldn’t have team mates and wonderful friends here and around the world that I can share with.  I couldn’t afford to buy all these amazing products without the great discount I get or the little freebies (or rewards!) I get along the way.

I love being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator to be able to do all this.  I am thankful for all it has given me.  I am thankful for my customers (who I call my friends). Many who have been with me from those very early days. I am thankful for my friends I have made near and far.  I am thankful to my blog readers (MWAH!). I will be around for a little while still.

THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF MY LIFE!

I found this on the internet.  I hope they don’t mind me sharing but it sums it all up really.

not just about stamps

FLAMINGO FOR FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES #226!

I saw this idea on Pinterest a few weeks ago to make a flamingo with the ‘Balloon Builders’ stamp set.  I had only just started using this set after receiving it at Stampin’ Up! Onstage last November.  I thought this flamingo was kinda cool though.  So I stamped it up but then I didn’t know how to put it on a card – until I saw the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week. So I finally added it to a card – and it is done before the time of the sketch challenge to end!  Here is the sketch and then my card.

FMS Final 226-001

The card base is Melon Mambo and the paper is from the ‘It’s My Party’ Paper Stack. I matted this piece on to some Silver Foil. (Just a tip: Cut a rectangle from the centre of your Silver Foil piece then you can use that piece for another project).  The sentiment is from ‘Remembering Your Birthday’ and I cut a little silver piece from the ‘Itty Bitty Banners’.  I added a Paper Lace Doily and some Melon Mambo dots from the ‘It’s My Party’ Enamel Dots.

I have used a number of the balloons from the ‘Balloon Builders’ set and drew the legs freehand.  This is a fun set and you can create so many cute things with it.  Here is the set if you haven’t noticed it in the catalogue.

This is on p. 14 of the catalogue.  It is a photopolymer stamp and is $28.  Great value for 19 stamps!

The original Flamingo card can be found HERE. Go and check the link out though because Ruth has lots of clever ideas with this set.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have yourself a great day where ever you are. 🙂

IT’S MY PARTY THANKS TAGS!

I forgot to show you these.  So many other exciting things to show.  I made a number of these tags a couple of weeks ago for the lovely ladies who ordered at my Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogue Launch.

thanks tags

These were very quick to make.  They had to be. I cut a strip of white card 10cm x 5cm (4″ x 2″) and a piece of the ‘It’s My Party’ DSP stack.  I adhered them together and then punched out the end with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  I added a strip of the Sahara Sand print from the ‘It’s My Party’ stack along the bottom.  I then tied around some of the Melon Mambo or Mint Macaron Baker’s Twine. The greeting is from the ‘Tin of Cards’ set and that was raised up with dimensionals and then a couple of the balloons from the ‘Party Wishes’ set were stamped and punched out to add to this.  I think I may have even added some sparkle with the Wink of Stella brush. It’s a bit hard to see that though sadly.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Jenny

KNOW WHAT I LOVE??

This was another of the cards I made a couple of weeks ago when I was playing with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits.  I had cut the heart from the Sale-A-Bration paper ‘Wildflower Fields’ DSP.  This was one of the activities everyone got to do at my Launch at the Product Playground but I hadn’t got around to actually making a card from it at that time.

I wasn’t sure how to put it together but I teamed it with a few of my new Favourites the ‘Timeless Textures’ stamp set which I stamped in Sahara Sand and the greeting from one of the Sale-A-Bration sets ‘What I Love’.

The card base is Blackberry Bliss to match the DSP and the flowers were cut from Lost Lagoon.  Simple but hey that’s me!! 🙂

Hope you like it.

See you soon,

Jenny

FLOWERING FIELDS FLAP FOLD!

Say that 10 times quickly! Seriously, sometimes it is hard to come up with names for blog posts!

Anyway, you want to see a card not my posting dilemmas.  Today I have a sweet card for you using the Sale-A-Bration set ‘Flowering Fields’.  I stamped and coloured this a few weeks ago at a team stamping day.  I wasn’t sure  how to put it together then so put it aside until later. Well later was a week or two later!

I decided to go for a slightly different style card.  The flowers are so pretty so I wanted to show them off a little.  We were told at Onstage last year when they showed this set that the flowers are based on Australian natives.  I really struggle with colouring these different colours to what they are meant to be especially the Waratah. I think I used the aquapainter and inkpads to colour them – or was it the blender pen??  It was so long ago I can’t remember.

calypso outside 2

It is a standard size card but I cut off about 5cm (2″) from the bottom on the front of the card.  I adhered some of the Sale-A-Bration paper ‘Wildflower Fields’.  Isn’t it pretty?? I wrapped around some Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon to the front. The finished stamped piece was adhered to a black mat and then adhered to the front with Dimensionals.  Just add your dimensionals to the top sections of the panel.

Then it came to the greeting.  Do you struggle with where to put your greeting on your cards?  You don’t want to overshadow the main image but you don’t want it disappearing in the mix.  The greeting I used is from another Sale-A-Bration set ‘Botanicals For You’.  I love the greetings in this set. Did you have a close look at the greeting on this card?  The smaller framelits or punches weren’t going to work and then the next sizes were too big.  What to do? I have used the “ledge shape” die in the ‘Heart and Home’ Thinlets Dies. I was really happy how that turned out. I will have to keep that in mind to use again.

Here is a photo of the inside of the card.  I stamped one of the flowers on the inside in Calypso Coral and under the paper strip I adhered a strip of black card to give it a lift.

Phew! Thanks for sticking with me with all my dilemmas for today’s post.  🙂

I hope you have a happy day wherever you are in the world.  Thanks for visiting me today.

LAUNCHING THE NEW OCCASIONS CATALOGUE!

On Saturday I had my Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Launch.  I know that the catalogue has been around for nearly a month but with our School Holidays on it is a bit hard to get people together.  So it was Launch day on Saturday.  It was fun!  Thanks to all the lovely ladies who came and it was nice to see some new faces and some regular ladies too.

So what did we do?? Well, it was a party of course.  With all the fun party products in the catalogue, why wouldn’t we.  There was balloons and cake and treat bags for everyone. You know I got so busy and I forgot to take photos of everything. 😦  I will share what we did though.

I can show you the Treat Bags I made.  I was inspired by a couple of projects I had seen recently on Pinterest and shared by Stampin’ Up! too.

treat bags

These are 2 versions of them.  I have used some lunch bags and cut part way down the front and folded down the flap.  I added a strip of the ‘It’s My Party’ DSP and then cut a strip of card with the star Thinlets from the Mini Treat Bags.  The cake from ‘Party Wishes’ was stamped on white card and then it was cut with a mid-size Circle Thinlets. I added a punched flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack, a Dot from the ‘It’s My Party’ Enamel Dots pack and finished off with a bow from either the Melon Mambo or Mint Macaron Baker’s Twine.  The greeting from ‘Party Wishes’ was stamped down the bottom of the bag.

I filled the bag with some 6″x6″ pieces of the ‘It’s My Party’ DSP stack and a square of the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.  Of course there may have been some chocolate and other treats in there too. 😉

I had some different products set up to have a test run like the ‘Bloomin’ Heart Thinlets Die and Die Brush and the Confetti Embossing Folder and ‘Wink of Stella’ Brush. All good fun too.

Now for the Make and Take. I can’t take credit for these cards.  I CASED them from Janet HERE.  I loved how you can use the Rose Garden Thinlets as a mask. Everyone loved the idea too and started thinking of other dies that they could do this with.

sponged rose

For this card we cut the rose and leaves out from some Whisper White card. Then placing it on to a Whisper White card mat carefully sponge the Watermelon Wonder ink over the rose adding more ink to the centre.  Sponge the leaves with Mint Macaron. It doesn’t matter if the ink merges with each other or goes out of the lines.  It’s all part of the effect. We then embossed some dots in gold from ‘Timeless Textures’ and heat embossed the greeting from ‘Rose Wonder’ in gold too. The card piece was adhered to a Mint Macaron card base and the greeting was raised up with dimensionals.

I showed everyone then how to use the mask you have sponged. Don’t waste it, you can create another card. I have used ‘Timeless Textures’ again stamping in Sahara Sand on white card.  The greeting was stamped in black, cut with the framelit and sponged around the edge. This was all adhered to a card base in Watermelon Wonder.

sponged offcut

Here they are together.  A nice matching pair.
