SORRY, HAVE TO SHOW YOU!!

Sorry, it’s not card related but I had to share this.  Josh had his first game of Gridiron yesterday.  It was a pre-season Gala Day with a number of small games then a big game.  He absolutely loved it! He has followed NFL for a while now (Go the Patriots for the Superbowl this year!!!)

Here he is in all his gear.

Don’t mess with this guy!!!!  I am amazed at how much padding they wear. Which is probably good really but when he plays Rugby League he wears a chest pad which is only padded cloth and headgear because we ask him to (and of course a mouthguard).

Action shot!  Apparently he is the one crouching in the centre close to the action!!

Thanks for the indulgence.  I know for my American readers this is a common sight but in a country dominated by Rugby League and Cricket, NFL is starting to make it’s presence felt.

See you soon with some more stamping,

Jenny x

ANOTHER HAYWARD CARD!!!

This is becoming a regular occurence here.  My DH created another card yesterday.  He had to go to a wedding today and wanted to make the card.  The layout was inspired by a card I had saved.  I’m not sure who this was by but I have seen a number or similar ideas around.  Of course, we are using the Owl punch again – and these are very cute!  These aren’t the traditional colours you would use for a wedding card but they were chosen to co-ordinate with the outfits that Glenn and the person he was going with was wearing – don’t ask, long story!!

Here you are:

These owls took a little time to put together as they are a little fiddly.  I think the white breaks up the brightness of it a bit. I added the pearls to give it an elegant touch.

Card: Brilliant Blue (retired), Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Real Red.

There you go another Hayward creation!!! I hope you like it 🙂

HELLO OUT THERE!!!!

I just wanted to stop by and say Hello!!!  (I am sneaking on a public computer here!) I am having major computer issues at home at the moment.  For some reason we have used all our download limit for the month in 2 weeks!!  I don’t know what has happened, but I am feeling a little lost here.  Our computer is at an all time SLOW Dial-up Speed.  I can’t access anything.  I can only read my emails occasionally (if it wants to co-operate!),  I can’t access Facebook (Josh has just set it up on my phone now!), I waited 1/2 hour to try and load wordpress and it didn’t work.  (So I have snuck on here to let you know).  I can’t do any blurfing either!! I am feeling SO lost at the moment and out of touch with the world.  Isn’t it sad!!  On the upside you can get a lot done when you don’t waste time on the computer.  I had wanted to show you some creativity – even dig it out of my vault.  But I have ran out of time here now.  I will try and stop by again soon.  So feel free to browse my other posts and I will be back SOON!! Don’t forget me 🙂

ELEMENTS OF STYLE!

Just going to interrupt my regular programming of ‘Sail-Away’ cards for the moment. (Phew, you’re all breathing a sigh of relief there aren’t you!!!).  I had to show you these cards.  Today I had a family stamping day with some of my keen stamping family members.  I showed them the Emboss Resist Technique with ‘Elements of Style’.  Then they all made the card. They all did a fantastic job.  I thought you might like to see them.  I’m very impressed with them all.

This is the card I showed them.  (Sorry the photo is not too clear).

This was inspired by a card on Splitcoast Stampers (I think)  by Loni.  I couldn’t find it again on her blog.  To create the card.  I stamped the flowers from Element of Style in Baja Breeze on the Baja Breeze base card.  I cut out the top-note in Whisper White.  I clear embossed the swirls of Elements of Style and then sponged Baja Breeze ink over.  I gave it a little wipe with a tissue to shine it up.  I then stamped on the greeting in Night of Navy.  The bird was inked in Baja Breeze and then Rock and Rolled in Night of Navy.  I cut it out and raised it with dimensionals and added a little bling with the Rhinestones.

This one is my MIL’s.  She added the bling to the flower centres – a very nice touch!

This is my SIL’s.  She added extra sponging in Night of Navy around the edges giving it some added depth.

This is Carlie’s (DD 10 years old).  She did a fantastic job (and is hooked on embossing now – like them all!).

This is my Great Niece Jakayla (10 years old).  Another lovely creation.  The girls had lots of fun sponging the ink around.  Jakayla chose the ‘Love’ out of Tiny Tags set.

Last, but by no means least, is my niece Megan.  She changed the card all together and did a beautiful job.

She turned the card and stamped and embossed the bottom section of the Top Note.  I like the gradation of colour in the sponging from Night of Navy on the bottom and then lighter Baja Breeze above that.  The bird was stamped in Baja Breeze onto the white card and then again on scrap card in Night of Navy.  This was cut out and raised up off the card angling it slightly with the first stamped bird. This looks like a bird in flight.  The ‘for you’ was stamped in Night of Navy and an adhesive pearl added to the centre.

Thanks for indulging me showing these cards off.  It was a very creative day.  They all then created some great punch art characters and another card.

OK, I will be back to regular programming next time 🙂  Thanks for stopping by.

ANOTHER HAYWARD CARD!!

With all my posting of our convention I didn’t get around to showing you this card.  A little while ago I showed you a card that my DH made.  He needed another card last week for a mate’s wife who broke her wrist in 2 places while mountain biking.  I had a card for her but Glenn said he ‘had’ to make one.  After all she saw the last card he made and expected one.

So he asked Carlie to help him pick out a few designs but it HAD to have the Big Shot.  They checked out the catalogues.  This card is based on a card from a recent mini catalogue and we worked on that.  So, without further ado –

Here is the card Glenn made.

The colours are Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery and Marina Mist.  We He  used the Perfect polka Dots Embossing Folder on the bottom of the card.  I suggested doing some sponging to lift it a little.  With a little persuasion he added some bling on the butterfly.  Have to say Paula really loved that touch!!  🙂

Here is the inside.  A bit more sponging and using Sincere Salutations.

Now just to show you that he really did do it, here is proof.

So what do you think.  I think it is a great effort.  I’m just going to have to watch my stamping space or he will take over.

Thanks for looking.  I will pop back soon and show you some of MY creations.

Jenny 🙂
