WHERE HAVE I BEEN???

Wow! It’s been over a week since I have been back here. What a week it has been!!! Between running around with banks as our credit card had been swiped last weekend, organising the rides for the school fete that was on yesterday and organising my own stall, I had a funeral to go to and my husband left his job. Also, Stampin’ Up! announced huge discounts to their clearance sale before the end of the catalogue finishes tomorrow and my phone has been running hot with orders. Today I have been at the orthodontist for my daughter as she got her plate fitted on her mouth. Apart from all that, I really have no excuse!

I thought I would come up for air for a minute and show you some more cards with retiring products. It’s only 2 days until the new catalogue goes live. How exciting! These cards I did at a class a few months ago. I am a bit behind, aren’t I??? These were for a Fun Folds class. We did the Joy Fold card. The tutorial to create this card can be found here. I used the bright and funky “Pink Flamingo” DSP. We used the direct to rubber technique with the markers to colour the tree from “Thoughts and Prayers”. This was done twice and then a circle was punched with the 1 1/4″ circle punch from one and then layered on a 1 3/8″ Pink Passion circle and then on a Gable Green scallop circle. This scallop was raised up with dimensionals to allow the flap to tuck. Note: Only add the dimensionals to one half so you can fit it under!!!!! The edge of the white card was sponged with Pink Passion.

This time the tree image was inked up with the Pink Passion stamp pad and stamped onto whisper white. The edges were sponged in Pink Passion again. The greeting on the inside and outside was from the set “Teeny Tiny Sentiments”.

The 2nd card we did was the criss-cross card which can be found here. This was another bright and funky card using the “Kaleidoscope” DSP. For the inside card I cut a top note from Whisper White, added a tab using the circle tab punch. I sponged the edges with Tempting Turquoise and the small flowers are from “Cottage Garden”. On the front of the criss cross pocket I added a strip of Pink Passion, then crimped a strip of Tempting Turqoise. The greeting is from the Hostess set “Best Yet”, then punched out using the circle punches and scallop circle. These were layered and raised up with dimensionals.

Lots of retiring products on these cards. I must run now. I will be back in a few days with the new catalogue. Whoo Hoo! There are so many exciting new things in there.

CAN YOU HELP HUDSON?????

Whenever there is a need, quite often Stampin’ Up! seek to help, especially with one of our own. Young Hudson is the 2 1/2 year old son of a fellow demonstrator. Before birth it was found that Hudson’s brain wasn’t formed properly. Since birth Hudson it has been discovered that Hudson is legally blind, and has developmental delays. Since January this year Hudson has suffered epilepsy and recently diagnosed with Cerebal Palsy. You can read more of Hudson’s story here.

To help Hudson with mobility and gain some independence, it would be great to provide Hudson with a Kid Walker. These come at a cost of $5000. A group of demonstrators have got together to raise money for Wheels for Hudson. They have compiled a number of creative projects in packages that you can purchase. There are various themes for these packages from Kids Birthdays, male, scrapbooking, Christmas, Punch art, Bags and boxes. Each package contains 10 great projects with step-by-step tutorials. These are only $10 per package. That’s only $1 per project. How cheap is that!!!! You can buy 1 package or the 6. If you buy 4 you’ll receive a bonus package of projects. These are only available during August.

Hi, Just stopping by quickly to say I haven’t forgotten you. I have to say I do miss blogging and catching up with all my blog friends. I would love to show you some photos but I’m having a few computer issues here. Time is very limited. Maybe that’s a good thing!!! So photos will have to wait until I get back next week. You know I did not bring any stamping away with me, but I’m amazed how the red backing strip off Stampin’ Up! Sticky Strip can make it’s way here!!!!

We had a great day at Sea World on the Gold Coast yesterday. I loved the dolphin show. A few years ago I had the great opportunity to be a trainer for a day at Sea World so it was so good to see them all again. Dolphins are such amazing creatures and have the most cheekiest personalities. Of course, my 2 kiddies (well 3 if you count my DH!) loved all the rides.

How can one weekend go by so fast!!! I can’t believe where this last weekend has gone to. We had such a blast with my stamping buddies at the Stampin’ Up! Convention. Lots of laughs, perhaps a little too much chocolate!! Oh, and some great inspiration from the talks too. The best part was spending time with my friends from our team and meeting up with my blog and forum friends. I thought I would share some photos of our time together. Note: “some”. As they say, what happens in Sydney, stays in Sydney!

3D projects, Stampin' Up!

FOR MY HOSTESSES!!

Saturday was my Hostess Appreciation Day. I wanted a special day to say Thanks to all my lovely hostesses who have held workshops for me. A number of them couldn’t come for various reasons, which is a shame so I will be catching up with them very soon 🙂

I wanted to make a special project for them. Many of them have eyed off the shoe that I have, so I thought that would be special. What girls don’t like bags and shoes!!! This is what they all got to make.

The shoe template is originally from Ness. The bag template is from the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator website. I cut the flap off this (because it wouldn’t fit on the size card!) and then I added it separately. The small and large flower on the shoe and bag are from ‘Baroque Motifs’. I stamped these in versamark and heat embossed in silver embossing powder. I think they make a nice set. I just need to make a 2nd shoe to make a matching pair!!

Card: Baja Breeze, Whisper White.
Ink: Baja Breeze, Versamark.
Stamps: Baroque Motifs, So Swirly Wheel.
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Adhesive, Dimensionals.

As a Thank You I made this little gift for them.

These are little Matchbox Gift Boxes. They are so cute and so quick to make!! I am making up a tutorial for you and will show you in the next post.
Stamps: A Great Friend.
Card: Rose Red, Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Raspberry Tart DSP.
Other: Adhesive, Bone Folder, Dazzling Diamonds.

Not sure if you can see the bling on the butterfly very well. It is very sparkly!! In the boxes I had some Choc Chip double stitched ribbon and some designer flower brads for them.
