LET’S COMPARE THE 2020 STAMPIN’ UP! INCOLORS!

You might have seen the 2020-2022 Incolors by now?? If not I will introduce them to you and I thought it would be good to compare them with our other lovely Stampin’ Up! colours.

We have Misty Moonlight, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee.

What one is your favourite?  I’m still not sure yet.  I do love green so Just Jade is a winner.  I have been using a bit of the Misty Moonlight recently and really loving the light shade of blue.

See how the colours compare to our other colours.

I will be sharing projects with you soon with these lovely colours – and the gorgeous products becoming available from Wednesday. 🙂

Have a great day,

Jenny

DRESSED TO IMPRESS SCRAP PAGE!

I don’t do a lot of memory keeping or scrapbooking but I created this page for Onstage back in November when I presented the Dressed To Impress Bundle.  I realised I hadn’t shared it with you.

This page is of my sweet girl who is now a big girl.  She LOVED dressing up.  It was her most favourite thing to do.  Everyday she would pull out the dress ups.  I made a mini album some time ago just with photos of her in her dress ups.  She had quite the style.

This is a 12″x12″ page.  I used 3 different prints from the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper pack and layered them together. I added a few dies with the All Dressed Up Dies and a little stamping.  I think this suite is ideal for these type of photos don’t you think??? 🙂 Perhaps I need to make a few more pages with it.

The Dressed To Impress Bundle is carrying over in to the new catalogue but it won’t be as a bundle.  Buying it now will save you 10%.

The Best Dressed Designer Series Paper won’t be carrying over- grab that now before it goes.

See them in my store now -> HERE.

You can order there or Contact me to add your order.

Don’t forget to add the Host Code in the checkout on the store.  Host Code – WF9YsVMB

Just days left to get this month’s Tutorial too.

I actually used a different print of the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper in my project.  Here is another sneak of that too.

Thanks for visiting me. Have an awesome week,

Jenny

PERENNIAL POPPY!

I made this card sometime ago.  Just being able to share it with you now.

I wanted to show the Diecut pattern background and see how it looked.  I will say.  I’m not sure on this one BUT I’m putting it out here for you. 🙂

I have used the Poppy Moments dies.  The background was diecut on the Balmy Blue card and the leaves stamped over it.

The Piece was layered on to a piece of the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper for a subtle effect.

I diecut the poppy.  On the white piece I sponged some Flirty Flamingo ink on  the centre.

The sentiment was diecut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

I hope that this card gives you some inspiration.

The Poppy Moments Dies are carrying over in to the new catalogue.  Buy them now as a Bundle with the Peaceful Moments stamp set so you can save 10%.

See and order in my store >HERE.

For the next week I have a special gift with your orders.

Have a great weekend.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #102 – EMBOSSED BREATHTAKING BOUQUET!

Wednesday’s WOW! #102 – Creating Feathery Ribbon.

I have a fun technique to show you today.  I wanted to show you how you can create these wispy, feathery threads on your cards. You can see it on this card below.

Check out the feathery threads.  This is a really cool technique. I have outlined it below.

This is using the Gold Edged Ribbon.

Trim off the Gold edges of a length of the ribbon.

Then gently pull out the threads of the ribbon to wisp them and give that feathery look.  It will be easier to start from one end. You can use the Piercer or a large needle if that helps. You pull off the small threads running across too.

I found it helpful too to hold the centre of all the threads as you can, to keep them all together.

Once you have the threads, hold the threads carefully together and tie them in a bow. Trim the length as you like.

+++

It’s a cool effect isn’t it? Vanessa showed us how to do this when we made the card at our team meeting a few months ago.

What do you think?  It’s a cool effect don’t you think?  Must try it again.

Below is a PIN-IT image for you to pin to Pinterest to have on hand.

+++

I will tell you more on how I created the rest of the card too.

The card is using the retiring Breathtaking Bouquet which is a background stamp from the current Occasions Catalogue.

This is actually a one layer card but has so much shine.

The Breathtaking Bouquet background is stamped on  the front of the card with versamark and then heat embossed in Gold Powder.

It is also heat embossed in Gold on to Black card too.  The black card piece is trimmed around some of the outline of the flowers. Then the feathery bow was adhered with a glue dot on the sentiment piece.

This large Background stamp is still available.  Check it out in my store now -> HERE.

Thanks for looking.

ESAD MAY 2020 – SEE YA LATER FAVOURITES BLOG HOP!

Welcome to the ESAD See Ya Later Favourites Blog Hop. You have come from HERE with the gorgeous creations of Bronwyn, or you are starting on my Blog.

Our Blog Hop today is to feature one of our favourites products. I have chosen the Love What You Do Stamp Set.

I used this set a lot when it first came out and I have to say it got pushed aside with all the other lovelies arriving. When I pulled my retiring products off the shelf this week this one made me sad. So I thought it was time to ink it up again.

I have made a set of 3 simple cards for you today.

We have 3 different colours – Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green/Old Olive.

On the white card mat on each one I embossed the card with Subtle Embossing Folder.

On the Flirty Flamingo card above the flowers were coloured with the Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.

The Highland Heather card above was stamped with the Highland Heather inkpad and using the “splodge” stamp in the set.

For this card above I stamped the leaves in Old Olive and Granny Apple Green.

Now you can continue on your Way. You are off to Mandy’s blog now. Just click on the NEXT arrow below or click on the list.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #100 – USING YOUR DIECUTS AS STENCILS – AND A GIVEAWAY!

Wednesday’s WOW! #100.  Woo Hoo! Who would have thought a couple of  years ago when I started this series that I would have 100 tips, techniques, product videos to share with you.  Number 100 is pretty amazing.  I think. 🙂

Today I have a special technique for you.  And to celebrate 100 WOW’s I thought it would be time for a Giveaway.  Check below after you see the fun technique.

For our Wednesday’s WOW! #100 I wanted to share a cool technique of using your Diecuts to create stencils.   It’s not a new technique BUT might not be one you think about readily.

I was inspired of this idea when I saw a project on a Demonstrator Facebook group I am on and I’m sorry I can’t remember the Demonstrators name.

I have used the Ornate Borders Dies and the Ornate Frames Dies to create these particular cards but you could use any detailed dies.

For this first card I have used the decorative flower border die from the Ornate Frames Dies.  Diecut this on a piece of white card.  Then use this card piece as a stencil to colour on to a different white card strip.

So for this one below you may not be able to see it but I have the other white card strip which is the same size as the diecut strip, so I could line them up and be sure it was straight.

I have used the Watercolor Pencils but not used them with the Aquapainter.  You could use Stampin’ Blends or a Blender Pen and inkpads.

This was the finished coloured strip.

To finish the card I used some of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.  The Twine is from the Nature’s Twine set.  It is Grapefruit Grove but I think it worked OK with the Calypso Coral on the card.

The vellum “leafy” spray and the bird is from the Well Written Dies.

On this next card I used the dies in a different way.  I diecut the “flourish” type die in the Ornate Frames Dies from white card and then used that as a stencil to heat emboss.

To do this line up the diecut strip on your white card mat.  Press the Versamark ink over the diecut being careful not getting Versamark above the strip on to your main card.  You can add some scrap paper to mask it to protect the card if you like.

After using the Versamark, remove your stencil strip.  Sprinkle over Silver Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.  You have a nice shiny image.

Below is the finished card in more detail.

For the finished card I used the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper.  The Hello Fabulous from the Dressed To Impress stamp set and cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  The Mint Macaron piece is also diecut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and embossed with the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder.

PAPER ADVENTURES TEAM BLOG HOP – APRIL 2020!

I’m so honoured to be hopping along as a Guest with Kelly Kent and the Paper Adventures Team today.  Such a creative group of people. 🙂

The Blog Hop this month is a colour Theme with Pretty Peacock, Whisper White and Melon Mambo.  I love both these colours but have to say haven’t used these colours together.  So I wasn’t sure what I would do with them.

This is the card I have created.  I think we are all dreaming of a tropical paradise right now. 🙂

I have used the Timeless Tropical Bundle for this card.  The card was based on a recent Fab Friday sketch #187.

The frangipani flowers are stamped in Memento Black Ink on to Shimmery White card.  I took the liberty to use this card for the watercolouring. 🙂  The flowers were coloured with the ink pad and the Aquapainter.

The Pretty Peacock card piece was cut with one of the Stitched Nested Dies and then embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder.

When I was assembling the card I felt the white card was a bit plain.   I lightly swiped over some ink with the Aquapainter and Melon Mambo Ink.  I would suggest you use the Shimmery White for this or even Watercolour paper.  The Whisper White “pills” up a bit.  It was risky but I thought I might be stretching it to use the Shimmery White for that.  It turned out ok but then it is partly covered. 🙂

Now continue on your Blog Hop.  You are off to Siobhan’s blog -> HERE or click on the NEXT button below.

Thanks for hopping with me and the Paper Adventures Team.
