A MASCULINE GIFT BOX AND CARD WITH ‘GUY GREETINGS’.

I showed you my Convention swaps earlier.  I hope you like them?? When I was just finishing the cards off last week I realised how similar one of the cards were to a Gift Box I made recently and what a great gift set it would make.  What a coincidence!

Here they are together. I have used the Guy Greetings stamp set.

P1160451

I did not plan this at all but how cool! If you want to see more details of this cute faceted box then you can check my blog post HERE.  It has the link to make your own box in that post too.

Maybe that will be just the idea to fill with chocolates for a masculine birthday – or maybe for Father’s Day????

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny

SOUTH PACIFIC STAMPIN’ UP! CONVENTION 2015!

As you read this I will be on my way to the Gold Coast, Queensland for the South Pacific Stampin’ Up! Convention.  So exciting!!

The best part of this is meeting up with online demonstrator friends and swapping cards with them. Oh yes! There are great demonstrations of projects and sneak peeks too 🙂

So I thought I would show you my swaps I have done.  This year I made less than I usually do. Time was a little against me.

Here are my cards.

P1160442

I have used the set ‘Guy Greetings’.  The card on the right I have CASED from Lisa Young (addinkandstamp.blogspot.com) HERE.  This card then inspired my card on the left.

The base card for both is Night of Navy.  I used Very Vanilla mat.  I cut an oval shape on scrap card to form a mask and placed this over the Hardwood background stamp.  I inked up the Hardwood stamp by patting the Crumb Cake ink over the mask and stamp. I removed the mask and stamped the Hardwood stamp onto the Vanilla cardstock. The anchor and tool images are both stamped in Night of Navy ink on Whisper White card.

For the card on the right I added ‘Epic Day’ Washi Tape and this greeting was stamped in Basic Gray.

P1160446

For the card on the left, the greeting is stamped in Night of Navy.  I added some loops of linen thread on the back of the card.  To create these loops,  I loosely wrapped the linen thread twice around 2 fingers and cut the linen thread at this point. I added Glue dots to attach the loops under the top left of the image which had been matted onto Night of Navy card.  Then I made one loop and attached it under the bottom right.  Glue dots are the best  way to attach the loops.

P1160447

I hope you like them.  I can’t wait to receive the swap cards in return.  I will share them with you when I get back.

I will try and post again later in the week but most of the updates will be on my Facebook business page.  You can ‘Like’ me if you haven’t already.  Just click on the link in the right column.

Thanks for stopping by today 🙂

HAPPY 21ST WITH CELEBRATE TODAY!!

Yesterday was my niece’s 21st Birthday.  I can now show you her card since it is safely delivered. The pressure was on to do something different – and spectacular.  I came across this Pop Out Swing card by Julie Davison.  You can see that card HERE and the instructions are there too for you to make your own.

Here is my card using ‘Celebrate Today’ and the Balloon framelits.

P1160425

It took a little bit until I was happy enough with the swing and I think it is a card that you personally give to someone to show them how it works rather than sending it them in the mail.

Here is the front of the card.  The greeting was cut using the ‘Project Life – Cards and Labels’ die. A little glimmer always goes down well on a card too. 🙂  I cut the square from the centre of the front of the card using the Squares Framelits.

P1160423

You can’t tell by the photo but I heat embossed the 21st with silver embossing powder.  It gave it a nice shine. The 21st is from the set ‘Memorable Moments’ (soon to be retiring – have you got that set yet???).

I think it was well-received.  Happy 21st Megan. x

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend,

Jenny

CASE THE CATALOGUE!!

Sometimes when you sit down to create you get stumped what to do.  The MOJO is just not happening! I am sure I am not the only one that happens to.  But inspiration is everywhere and especially in our Stampin’ Up! Catalogues.  I know I don’t use the catalogues enough when I am trying to come up with something.  They have been designed that way not just to show the products but to inspire us with projects.  We might CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or might just use it as a springboard for our next project.  We might just pick out the colours they have used or the layout.

A few weeks ago I was flicking through the catalogue and this card caught my eye.  I love how it showcases the Butterfly Thinlets and the Butterfly Basics stamp set.  So I CASED the card shown.  I changed the base colour and a few other little changes.

This is the card you can find on p 27 of the Occasions Catalogue.

Here is my card.

P1150845

The base card is a little taller than the standard size so I could fit the butterflies on there.  The base is Crumb Cake and the butterflies are Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango.

So next time you get stuck, grab one of your Stampin’ Up! Catalogues and see what jumps out at you.  🙂

Have a Happy Day,

Jenny

BLACK AND WHITE WEDDING!

I made a card today for a lovely friend who is getting married tomorrow! I thought it was safe to post it here as I don’t think she will be visiting any time soon.  I think she has other things to do. 🙂

She is having a black and white themed wedding so of course I had to make the card black and white.  For this card I CASED myself.  It makes life easy doesn’t it!!  This is the original card I made in Crumb Cake and Black.  Here is my black and white version.  Sorry about the lighting.  It is rainy and overcast today.

P1160414

I used the ‘Everything Eleanor’ stamp set and ‘Petite Pairs’.   After I stamped the swirl on the white card I ran it through the Big Shot with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.  I stamped the flower onto scrap white card and cut it out and then raised it up with dimensionals.  Then a few pearls and some white Organza ribbon adds the elegance factor.  I hope she likes it.  I do hope the rain stays away tomorrow though.  🙂

Have a stamping weekend.  I am making progress on my Convention swaps.  I might actually get them done this weekend.

Thanks for visiting.

CAPTURING YOUR MEMORIES WITH ‘EVERYDAY ADVENTURES’ PROJECT LIFE!!

I don’t do a lot of Scrapbooking.  If you have visited my blog for a while now you would realise that. With Project Life though I think it could be a little more manageable. I am sure you are like me and have lots of those family photos in their packets or on the computer??? Yes??  A couple of months ago I went through some of my photos and dragged out my Project Life kit – and got some more pages together.   I do say it was a couple of months ago.  In fact it was over the Christmas holidays but with all the excitement of Sale-A-Bration I haven’t got around to sharing them with you.  So today is the day!!

On these pages I have used the ‘Everyday Adventures’ Project Life kit and the Accessory Pack.

P1150757

This was quite a few years ago now (in fact 10 years!).  Here is a close-up of each page.

P1150760

P1150761

The camera on these pages are from the set ‘Around the World’.  I have also used ‘Just Sayin’ and Project Life Remember This set.

A few years on (these kids keep growing!!).

It is a special way to preserve your memories.  I really must do more.

Thanks for indulging me today with these pages.

SHELTERING TREE!!

I have had a little time this week to play with this set ‘Sheltering Tree’.  I have seen so many great cards with it that it was time that I joined in!

P1160356

There are some cute little images in this set and it is fun to put together.  This first one was inspired from these cards Here.  I made this card a standard size though. This is using Strawberry Slush and Pistachio pudding inks and the card mat is Baked Brown Sugar.  (I only have a few weeks left to indulge in these colours so I think I will be trying to make the most of them!!).

This next card was a fun one to make.  I CASED this card off a friend but for my card I added the Delicate Designs Folder along the bottom edge giving it a little texture.  I stamped the little flower stems and flower heads.  These line up together so well.  The flower heads were stamped alternately in Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.

P1160362

I think you just have to get this set.  It is such fun and there are so many different ways to use them. I will have some more play soon BUT there is less than 3 weeks to our Stampin’ Up! South Pacific Convention AND I have still yet to start swaps.  I hope to over the weekend but then I have been saying that all week!!! So stay tuned on that venture 🙂

3D projects, Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up!

SOME THANK YOU GIFTS AND QUICK UPDATES!!

The weather has been a little ordinary the last few days BUT that means it is inside days AND that means some creating time!!!! Today I have been busy creating some Thank You gifts for some lovely people who ordered during my recent ‘Celebrate Sale-A-Bration’ event that I ran for my newsletter subscribers.  These were fun to put together.

P1160347

I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets dies to embellish the cello gift bags.  They were filled with some of the Irresistibly Yours DSP and Sheer Perfection Vellum Sheets.  I think they might like these as both of these items were sold out at the end of Sale-A-Bration so at least now they get a little sampler. 🙂

NOW I have some quick Stampin’ Up! Updates for you.

1) Don’t forget this week’s Weekly Deals.  If you love your Big Shot then you will love these great discounts this week.

April 8
