MANHATTAN NEWLYWED!!!

I saw this idea a few weeks ago in my blog travels and have wanted to use it.  I finally got some time yesterday and created this card.

Card: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Cheerful Treat DSP (hostess DSP).

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Ink: Bashful Blue.

Other: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Modern Label Punch, Adhesive Pearls, White Taffeta Ribbon.

Do you notice the dress?? Check it out with a closer view.  Do you recognise it????

This was created with the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder.  I found the idea on Amy’s blog here.  Although Betty Button was apparently the original creator.  The photo below shows the section of the embossing that you use.  Simply emboss the flower and turn it upside down.  The section is in the bottom right.

Now do you see it??  How clever is that.  Just cut around the outline of the embossed image and you have a gorgeous dress.  (Note:  Don’t worry about that extra embossed line above the top of the dress.  Just cut across the top of the dress.  I just realised I added that in).  I really like this idea.  Some people are just so clever!!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your weekend.

USING YOUR BLOSSOM BOUQUET TRIPLE LAYER PUNCH!!!

You might have seen these new Triple Layer punches in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue.  They are great.  You can create various layers and patterns by assembling the punch outs in various ways.  I thought I would put together a chart to show you some of the ways you can layer these punches.  This is using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.  I used the colours from the Ice Cream Parlour ribbon and buttons that I had lying around.  They are Pacific Point, Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.  I hope you can see them clearly enough???

I think this is just the beginning of what you can do with this punch.  Maybe you can come up with some other suggestions.  Here are some close ups of some of them.

Apart from the various flowers you can create a tag  with the outer scallop and a centre.  You can pierce a hole in the top and add some twine to tie it on to your card or project.

Layer all the different punch outs together for a fancy flower, or create a cute embellishment to add to a card!

I had a lot of fun putting this chart together and I think it will be very useful.

This punch works differently to the other punches, so I came across a few videos on YouTube to see how they work.  You can check this one out here if you need some tips.

Have a play with this punch and see what you can create.

Have a great weekend.  We have a long weekend here, so I’m not sure what we will get up to.  I really hope I can get some stamping in.  With school holidays at the moment I am not getting much done.  That’s ok, we have been doing lots of other fun stuff!!

Thanks for stopping by,

MOTORCYCLE MAN!!!

It is school holidays here, so not a lot of creating or time at the computer at the moment.  While I have a minute I thought I would show you a card I made a few weeks ago.  This was for my Brother In Law’s 60th Birthday in August.  This card was created using the ‘Motorcycle’ Stamp from the last mini Catalogue.  Unfortunately it didn’t make it to the new Catalogue.

I stamped the motorcycle in Black Staz On and coloured it in with the Real Red Marker.  Probably not very clear but I paper pierced all around the whisper white card and along the top and bottom edge of the Night of Navy Strip.  I tore the right hand edge of the Night of Navy Mat.  The DSP is from the Newsprint DSP from the last Catalogue which has now retired.  I tied some Night of Navy Grosgrain and twine around a clip to add some little embellishment.

I will show you a close up of the motorcycle.

I coloured parts of the bike with the Real Red marker, but then I ran over it with my Versamarker pen and clear embossed it.  It gives it quite a shine – if you can see it ok!!!!

I hope you like it.  Must run now though.  I am busy creating Christmas projects at the moment.  That’s a bit scary to think that Christmas is not that long away!

A QUICK BLOSSOM BOUQUET CARD!

Last Monday I got together with Andrea for our regular stamping day.  It was a shame that Leonie and Tracey couldn’t join us, but it was nice to just chat together.  I have to say though, we only created one card all day.  That doesn’t matter – it’s nice to just chill out and chat!!!

I brought along my new Blossom Bouquet punch.  It was good to have a play around with it.  It operates a little differently to the other Stampin’ Up! punches. If you would like to know how to use this punch then head over here to check it out.

This is the card I created.

The colours used are Confetti White, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake.  The greeting is from the new Hostess set “Happiest Birthday Wishes”.

It was based on this card by Mary Brown at stampercamper.com.  Andrea had the card saved for her to CASE sometime.  The funny thing is when I got home and had a look I had saved the exact same card, so it was good to tick one off the list that we both had.

There are lots of ways to use this great punch and I am looking forward to using it a lot more soon.  As for now.  I’m off to bed- it is way late AGAIN!!!!

See you again soon,

MY SWAPS IN RETURN!!!

Finally I can get back here.  This week has once again flown by.  Fridays come around so quickly!  Last post I showed you the card I created for my swap for last week’s Stampin’ Up! Regionals in Sydney.  I wanted to show you the cards I received in return.  There were so many that I have divided them into groups.  Sorry if it is a bit hard to see.  It is hard to capture the bling and detail on some of the cards.

"The flowery cards"
The Mixed Group
The 3D Swaps

There are a lot of creative ideas here with different ways of using a stamp or different layouts.  Swaps are great to be a part of.  I have to show you this card by itself though.  I have to say this is one of the stand-outs.  Not that there weren’t other really great ones!!!!!!

There are so many different elements to this card.  The light sponging, the subtle use of the “French Foliage” set (must add that set to my wish list!).  Notice the torn corner in the top right hand corner.  It is a subtle addition.  You can’t tell in the photo but the top 2 butterflies have been clear embossed and each butterfly was cut out.  That’s a lot of cutting for 20-30 cards.   I just don’t have it on hand to tell you the creator.  I will come back and edit this shortly to let you know.  I think this card will be added to my CASE file.

I hope you find these inspiring!!

See you again soon,

A DOILY SWAP!!

Last Saturday was the Stampin’ Up! Sydney Regionals.  This is a great day meeting up with other demonstrators, seeing some fantastic new techniques and checking out some new products.  Part of the fun of these events is the swapping.  I can now show you my swap  card I created.

This is using the emboss resist technique (I have explained this below).  I was inspired by a similar card by Rhonda Wells I saw in my blog travels.  I found her card shown on another blog (which I don’t remember where now and I couldn’t find a blog for Rhonda).  Her card had a white base under the coloured card and coordinating ribbon.  I used the new Dotted Ribbon punch instead.  I was going to put it on the white base card but I liked it without it.   I did various colours as shown below.  Sorry the photo is not very bright.  It was 10pm the night before Regionals.  I had only just finished them!

Here are the others close up.

Rich Razzleberry and Regal Rose.

More Mustard and Lucky Limeade.

So which colour do you like best???  I liked the Wisteria Wonder myself but I was quite impressed how well the More Mustard turned out and that was quite popular.

To create the card:

Stamp the large doily in Versamark on Whisper White Card.  Clear emboss this.  Stamp the small doily in Wisteria Wonder (or colour of your choice) just to the right side of the embossed doily.  Sponge over ink on the large doily.  Wipe over with a tissue to polish it off.  (The colour really lifts in doing this).  Add your greeting (for this card I used a greeting from ‘Just Believe’) and adhere the white card to the card mat in a co-ordinating colour.  Add a strip of card down the left hand side which has been punched with the dotted ribbon punch.  Add an adhesive rhinestone to finish it off.  It is a very simple card and does look better in real life!!!

I received some great swaps in return so I wlll show you these next time, so make sure you stop by again soon.

Until next time,

Happy Stamping!

A POOL PARTY DOILY!

This was a quick card I made last week using the “Delicate Doilies” stamp set.  I’m really loving this set.  It is so versatile.  You can create really elegant cards or really bright, funky cards. This set is a lot of fun to use.  For this card I used one of the new In Colors – Pool Party.  It is a beautiful soft green colour.

I stamped the large doily in the centre of the Card base with black Staz On.  I adhered a strip of Basic Black card across the centre.  A smaller doily was stamped on whisper white card in Black Staz On and then punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch.  A circle was punched out of Black with the 1 3/8″ circle and the two were adhered together and mounted with dimensionals over the black strip.  A large self Adhesive pearl was added to the centre.  The greeting from Sincere Salutations is stamped in black Staz On near the bottom of the card.  To finish, I rounded the right-hand top and bottom corners of the card.  This card really didn’t take long at all to put together. The inspiration for this card was from a card I saw on SCS.

Thanks for stopping by.  I have 30 unfinished swap cards sitting here and I’m really hoping my order comes in tomorrow so I can finish them for Saturday.  Otherwise, I might have to quickly modify some things!!!!!!!!

A QUICK DELICATE DOILIES CARD!!

Just stopping by quickly.  Last Saturday was my Catalogue launch and Sale.  It was a great day.  I have been meaning to get here since but life has been a little busy.  I just wanted to show you the card we did as a Make and Take.  I used the beautiful new set, Delicate Doilies.  I’m really loving this set.  I have used it quite a bit now already and it is fast becoming a favourite.  There are so many techniques you can use with it.  This card was a very quick card, but shows just how lovely even a quick card can turn out.  Here is the card we made.

This card was inspired by a card I saw on SCS by Sandie Murphy.  I changed the colours around and the greeting.  I have used 2 new In Colors here, the Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder.  I alse added Regal Rose.  I like how they work together.  This was layered on Lucky Limeade card and a Wisteria Wonder base.  The greeting is from Party This Way and stamped in Wisteria Wonder and then punched out with the Word Window Punch and then Wisteria Wonder punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  I’m sure by adding a few Rhinestones to this it will “Bling” it up a bit too!!!!!

I hope you like??  Thanks for stopping by.  Have to fly.  I have just started my swaps for our Sydney Regionals (which by the way is using this set, so stay tuned!), so I have to keep going.

Stop by again soon,
