SEPTEMBER STAMP A STACK

I had a request from a customer to have a Stamp A Stack using the Spring Mini stamps.  As the group is very new to stamping I wanted the designs to be very simple.  I wanted a masculine design too.  These are the cards I came up with. Sorry not the best photo, the light wasn’t too good!

Do you want to make these cards?  I’m running another Stamp A Stack class on the 23rd September at 10am.  Check my ‘Class’ Page for details.  Contact me if you would like to come along.

Hope you have a good day and have time to stamp yourself  🙂

TEAM SPRING MINI SWAP!!

I’ve been trying to play catch up all week but I still don’t think I’ve got CLOSE to catching up! Anyway, I wanted to stop by quickly and show you this card. Our team swap this last month was using something from the Spring Mini. Of course, the stamp set ‘Great Friend’ was very popular. I’m not going to show you all the swaps at the moment. I know some of the other team members have posted their cards on their blog so you can check them out at Andrea’s and Ness’ (who used her Incentive trip swap – that was special!). For my swap I used the ‘Great Friend’. I was inspired by this card by Claire. I just changed it around a little.  Our swaps we do are to be very simple, something we might be able to do as a Make and Take.  I haven’t done anything fancy.  I stamped the butterfly on white scrap cardstock and cut it out and mounted it.

AN AWARD……FOR ME?????

I was doing my usual stalking of blogs the other day when I came to the blog of my lovely friend and team member Andrea.  She had posted some awards.  This was a ‘Circle of Friends’ Award.  She had nominated ME!  Along with some other very lovely people.  I was so touched.  Andrea is such a busy person, but she is so encouraging and just so genuine.  Now if you haven’t checked out her blog before you must go and do it.  She is very creative.  I am so honoured to be included in her ‘Circle of Friends’.

To accept this award this is what I need to do.

  • To pick up the Circle of Friends Blog Awards cut and paste the award onto your own blog.
  • Nominate 5 other bloggers.
  • Link to your nominees within your blog post.
  • Include these instructions on how to pick up the award in your blog post.
  • Link back to the person who gave you the award in your blog post, to show your appreciation. Comment on their blogs to let them know they’ve received the award.
  • The problem is I need to pass this award on by choosing 5 lovely people.  How can I choose just 5!!!  So I have deliberated this for a few days.  So here are my nominations for this award – The  ‘Circle of Friends’ Award: (insert ‘drumroll’)

    blogger_award circle thumb

    * TraceyTracey is a dear friend who I have known for a long time.  Tracey is also my Upline.  Tracey hasn’t been well of late, so I wanted to give her this award to send her my love and cheer her up.  Make sure you check out her blog.  She doesn’t post often but let her know you are thinking of her xx

    * LeonieLeonie is my Great Great Grandma of SU.  (Sorry Leonie to make you feel so old!!)  Leonie just doesn’t seem to stop.  She churns out the most amazing creations.  She gives so much of herself xx

    * AlisonAlison is another team member and is so lovely.  Go and check out her blog.

    * AnitaNo, she is not a team member!!  I just came across Anita’s blog recently.  She creates such simple cards that I love.  Sometimes simple is the best.  I love her honesty and openness.  Stop by and say Hi!

There are so many others who I count as my friends.  So many who encourage me, guide me, love me, laugh with me and cry with me.  So I’m going to cheat and give you ALL a ‘Circle of Friends’ Award.  Thank you!!!

Now make sure you pay a visit to all their blogs.  And Thank you Andrea for the award and that I can pass it on to so many others.

Now enough of the mush let’s get back to normal posting 🙂

    BUTTERFLY WHIMSY!!!

Just stopping by with a quick post today.  I thought I would show you this card.  I was going through a few past issues of “Impressions”  the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator magazine when I came across this card in the April issue.  I loved the layout and the simplicity of it, so I thought I would make it up while I still have the Garden whimsy set (note to self:  I must return that set!!!!!).

The butterfly is rock and rolled in Pumpkin Pie and then Ruby Red.  I traced  the circle with a glass and cut it out.  It’s a very simple card.  The photo is not too clear though.  Sorry about that.  One day I will get a better camera!

    Stamps: Garden Whimsy.

Must run.  I have a very busy week.  I have a stamp-A-Stack on Saturday and our school fete (fair) on Sunday, which I’m organising the rides and having my own stall.  Not sure if I will get back again this week.

    Until next time, Happy Stamping!!!!!

    CHRISTMAS TEAM SWAPS

I’ve had these cards sitting around to post for sooo long!  It’s so terrible.  I’ve got so behind.  Last month our team (Led by the wonderful Ness) had a Christmas in July card swap.  I wanted to show you them.  We have some very clever people in our team.  There are some very creative cards and some great ideas.

First off:  This one is the card I did.  Not that I’m saying this one is clever.  I cased this from last year’s Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogue on page 98.  It’s not called an Idea Book for nothing!  I loved the layout of it, and of course using my favourite “Baroque Motifs”.  I added some Dazzling Diamonds onto the flower and on the text strip, but that’s a bit hard to see!

Here are the rest of the team swaps.  PICT1430

It’s a bit to capture them all closely.  But, there are some good ideas.  What do you think?

Thanks for looking.  Have a good day 🙂

A GREAT FRIEND CARD AND A SEVENS BOX!!

Thought I would pop in quickly to share with you what we did at my Spring Mini Open House on Saturday. I had a lovely group of ladies (and I forgot to take a photo!! I’m sure they will be pleased with that!). This is the card they got to make as their Make and Take, using of course, a “Great Friend”. I have used this set sooo much lately!!  It’s a very simple card and the variations of this looked great.  Some chose to use Choc Chip instead of the Celery, or stamped the Regal Rose leaves instead of Celery.  The little butterfly was stamped on scrap white card and raised up.  I think everyone liked it!!

Card: Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, Whisper White.

Ink: Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, Certain Celery.

    Other: Scallop Edge Border Punch.

This is a little box I had made up.  It is a sevens Box and you can see how to make one here on Marelle’s blog.  It is very easy and so cute.  I stamped the butterfly in Baja Breeze over the box and on the inside, I have a cellophane bag which I stamped the butterfly  in White Stazon.  I filled the bag with some of the new Designer Flower Brads and some ribbon. This was the Lucky Door Prize for the day.  I’m going to have to make another one though, because now I have given it away!!

    This is from the top:

While I was at it with the White Stazon I stamped on this clear take away container with the Baroque Motifs flower.  I picked up a pack of these little containers from a discount shop.  They would be great filled with choccies!!

It was a fun time.  Any excuse for stamping together!

Have a good day and Thanks for visiting.  I hope you visit again soon 🙂

    LOOKING THROUGH A WINDOW!!

I thought I would quickly show you this card. I came across this card by Shelley Hopps on my blog travels recently. This gave me the inspiration to try a similar card. The other day I received my order with the white Stazon. I had stamped up some cellophane bags with it and I thought I would have a go at something different.

It did take a while getting the window right. Measuring the window and the frame took some time to get it in the right place, and once I had it right I made some inky marks on the frame!!! Don’t you hate that!!! So I had to cut the frame again. The Kiwi Kiss frame measure 9.5cmx13.5cm with the inside window 7.5cmx8cm. I scalloped the bottom edge with the scallop Border Punch. I used overhead transparency sheet for the clear window and stamped the butterfly from “Great Friend” using the white stazon. It goes on quite easily but just press the stamp firmly. The sheet is very slippery and so can smudge. (Didn’t I find that out also!). You can use Sticky strip to attach the clear sheet to the frame and then adhere both to the Not Quite Navy card base. Before attaching I had made a bow using the white taffeta ribbon – that was the end of the roll too.  I had stamped the leaf in Old Olive on scrap whisper white card and adhered that just on the stems under the ribbon.  I  added the “for you” text punched out with the oval punch and sponged with Old Olive and attached that with dimensionals.

On the inside I used a piece of Urban Garden DSP and whisper White card strip. I stamped the leaves in Old Olive on the white strip.

So, with all that talk about it, here is the card:

You can’t get such a good idea from a scan, so this is a view front On:

    This is from the inside:

I was really pleased with how it turned out.  Now I have done it once it shouldn’t take so long next time!!  If you need to know any more details, let me know.  The white Stazon is available in the New Stampin’ Up! mini Catalogue.  If you haven’t seen one yet, let me know and I can get one off to you.

    Enjoy your day 🙂

    3D projects, Challenges

    THIS TIME A 3D CHALLENGE!!

Ok, I’m a little behind in posting at the moment. Life gets a bit busy! I have shown you in a few recent posts dfferent challenges we did on a Cyberstamp weekend with fellow Aussie Demos. One of the challenges was a 3D challenge. This was set by the lovely Leonie. Go and check her blog out. She is one very creative lady.
We had to make this gift bag. It is such a quick bag to make once all the bits are cut. You need a brown paper bag with a base like you get at McDonalds. Now you can see all these demos racing off to McDonalds that weekend for their burger and paper bag! LOL
Now I just made a bag-A-Lope from a brown paper bag. If you are not sure how to make one of these, the instructions can be found here on Splitcoast. This is my creation. I did adjust the size of mine because my bag was a bit bigger, but it is a great size for some choccies and card.

    PICT1354

    Stamps: Best Wishes and More.

Card: Choc Chip, Whisper White, Old Olive, Good Morning Sunshine DSP.

    Ink: Old Olive.

Other: Choc Chip grosgrain ribbon, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Brown Paper bag, Velcro Strip (to close the bag).

I love this little bag.  It is sooo cute.  I’m going to have to make another one very soon.  When I catch up on everything else!!

    Have a good Day 🙂
