STAMPIN’ UP! WILDFLOWER BIRTHDAY – ME TO YOU

In my Facebook Group this week I have set a little “Creative Spark” post to perhaps inspire the members creating.

This week it was to use 2 different pieces of patterned paper on their cards. So of course I created too. This was my card.

I used the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Paper. It has gorgeous paper prints as well as Diecut images and pieces ready to use. I love that this can make creating a lot quicker.

I used a sketch to create the card. The square Birthday Cake image was cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies to add some extra detail and layered on a Old Olive Card Mat.

The sentiment is from the Bright Borders Stamp Set and cut with one of the dies from the Mixed Labels Dies. A little flower piece was added that was in the diecut paper pack.

So why not try this yourself. Grab 2 different pieces of patterned paper and create a card. If you need to check out a Card Sketch to work with to help you put the card together.

If you haven’t seen the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Paper before this is the pack.

You can see it more Online -> HERE. You can order there or Contact me directly. I would love to help you get that pretty paper.

Happy Creating

ARTISTICALLY INKED FOR COLOUR INKSPIRATIONS CHALLENGE!

I had a little play this week – just because. I played along with the Colour Inkspirations Challenge #CI144.

I have to say I found it hard colours to put together. They are beautiful colours but just being so many it was hard to work them in.

I first pulled out a few stamp sets that I thought may work and then ended up choosing the Artistically Inked Stamp set. It’s nice to play with “older” stamp sets.

This is what I came up with. The colours were Bubble Bath, Crushed Curry, Lemon Lolly, Parakeet Party and Azure Afternoon.

I stamped a number of different flowers in the different colours and then played around with the placement. Eventually I got something together. 🙂

What would you do with these colours?

There is still time to play if you want to join in too. You can follow along on the Colour Inkspirations Facebook group -> HERE.

Happy Stamping,

Jenny

PARTY PUFFINS FOR FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES #493

I had a little play yesterday just because. 🙂

I pulled out the Party Puffin stamp set and created a card for the Freshly Made Sketches #493 challenge this week. It’s been a while since I have played.

This is the sketch to play along with.

Here is my card.

I coloured the puffins with the Stampin’ Blends. They were a lot of fun to colour.

The background piece is using the Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Designer Acetate.

Why not join in with the sketch yourself. Even if you don’t add it to the challenge it’s a great sketch to have a go at.

Head to the Freshly Made Sketches blog -> HERE.

If you need any of your stamping supplies and you are in Australia then I would love to assist you if you don’t have a demonstrator yourself. Drop me an email at jghayward@yahoo.com or phone 0439 844574.

WHALE DONE BUILD A CARD!

Occasionally in my Customer Facebook group I set a little challenge.  It’s a BUILD A CARD WEEK.  Each day of the week I give an element to a card I have designed.  At the end of the week they can create their card.  This card I am sharing with you today is the card I made for the recent BUILD A CARD WEEK I had.

I have used the Whale Done Stamp set. This was a fun card to make.

Each day I gave the measurements for the pieces and suggestions of what it would have.  It is lots of fun to get people creating.  Sometimes we get a bit “stuck” in creating trying to think of what to use or what the layout is to be.  Having direction or inspiration can help.

This past week for our Build A Card Week not as many got involved as in the past.  Life happens but past ones have had lots of involvement. But it’s interesting to see what cards people come up with using the same elements.

You can join in the fun on my Facebook group too.  Head -> HERE to join.

In Australia? I would love you to shop with me. Head -> HERE.  Host Code: 26MVE4VE

I send a little Thank You card and small gift out to say Thanks to you so be sure not to mark your order anonymous.

If you need help in putting your order in please contact me by email at jghayward@yahoo.com or PH: 0439 844574 and I can help you out.

Happy Stamping,

Jenny

UNDER MY UMBRELLA – FOR A CHALLENGE!

Over the weekend I joined in on an Online Craft Day with some Demonstrator friends.  It was lots of fun with creating and sharing.  We had challenges along the way too and even some business chat with the lovely Clare from Stampin’ Up! joining us.  We had all planned to meet together BUT that couldn’t happen … Never mind. 🙂

This card is one I created for one of the challenges.  It was a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge so you had to choose 3 items in a row in a box.  I chose Embossing Folder, Designer Series Paper and Diecut Shape.

I had yet to use the Under My Umbrella set so thought I would pull it out.

Stampin' Up! Under My Umbrella

How did I go with the items for the challenge??

Embossing Folder – I used the Greenery Embossing Folder.  I think I ran the card through a little tight.  It did buckle a bit.  Something to be aware of.

Designer Series Paper – This was the beautiful Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper.  I  picked out the colours I used for the card from  this paper.  I chose Gorgeous Grape card mat. I used Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends as I didn’t have Melon Mambo Blends.  (I have just ordered them!!) and I used Rich Razzleberry too.

Diecut Shape – I diecut the white circle with the Stitched Shapes Dies.  Ok, I did add a punch to this card too. 🙂  I needed that to punch out the umbrella with the Umbrella Builder Punch.

The layout for this card came from the Case This Sketch #376 sketch.

I was happy with the finished card. I think I need to pull this set out and use it more.

Thanks for visiting me.

Have an awesome week.

PAINTED POPPIES FOR A CHALLENGE!

Over the last week I encouraged members in my Facebook group to create a card. Each day I posted an element for a card with the card measurements and other pieces. By the end of the week they could create their card and share it with the group.

It was a fun activity and I was so excited to see people share that wouldn’t normally share in the group.

This was my card I created. I actually made this Saturday week ago in Anzac Day but I couldn’t share this until now.

I have used the Painted Poppies Stamp set. The poppy is coloured with the Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is from Positive Thoughts.

You can join my Facebook group wherever you are. Drop me a comment or email and I can add you.

Have a happy day,

COLOUR INKSPIRATION CHALLENGE #58!

It’s been some time since I have been able to play along with the Colour INKspiration Challenges – or any challenges really.  So the other day I had a little time so thought I was going to do one.

This week’s Colour INKspiration Challenge #58 is using the colours: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Gold Foil.  You can follow along -> HERE.

Here is my card.  I thought the colours suited a Vintage Style or for a sweet Baby card.  I went with a Baby card.  The new stamp set Wildly Happy arrived last week so thought this was a great opportunity to ink it up.

The bunny and the sentiment were heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I used the Shimmery White card. I lightly watercoloured the bunny using the Blushing Bride inkpad and an Aquapainter. A decorative strip and little flower was diecut from Gold Foil using the Flourish Thinlits dies.

Then I went a little “arty”.  On the Shimmery White card mat I flicked some Blushing Bride ink splatters by adding some Blushing Bride ink to a Clear Block, adding a littler water with the Aquapainter and then flicking it off the block gently on to the card.  I was a little nervous doing this as it is not something I have done before and wasn’t sure how much control I had – but it worked ok.

If you have time why not play along with this challenge.  They are fun to be a part of and to really extend/challenge your creativity.  Have a go!  (I added the link above).

Thanks for looking,

Jenny

NEW WONDERS CHALLENGE CARD!

It was a long weekend here for us this weekend.  With a little extra time and for something fun we had a different kind of challenge on my Facebook group.  I got the group members to design my next card.  Twice on Saturday and then on Sunday I set a Poll with different categories for the card each time. There were 4 different options in each category and they could vote on it.  The categories were Stamp sets to use, Colour Collection, Style and shape that must be on it.

The end result was that the stamp set New Wonders was chosen using Subtles colours.  It was to be in Vintage style (which is not one I do much of) and it had to have a oval on it.  So do you want to see the card??

I was happy that this set was chosen as I have been using this a bit lately – and it is a bit sweet. 🙂 I posted some cards yesterday here on my blog.  Head back a post if you missed it.  I think I pulled the vintage style off ok as it is not my usual style. I used a little distressing and a little sponging.

When I put together a card from scratch myself I often turn to card sketches to help.  This one was based on this Sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #251.

Have you joined my Facebook group yet?? Head -> HERE and ask to join.

COLOUR INKSPIRATIONS #34 AND FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES #340

It’s a rainy cold day here today and what better way to spend it than stamping.  I thought I would indulge in a little challenge time.  For this card I combined 2 challenges; Colour Inkspirations #34 which I haven’t played along with for weeks, and Freshly Made Sketches #340 which I often follow their sketches but never actually enter it at the time.  So here is a double whammy. 🙂

So here is my card I created.  The colours turned out a little softer than in the inspiration image.

On Shimmery White card I watercoloured 3 of the colours Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Pool Party.  The Basic Gray was the strips down the sides of the panel.  As I have been using some of the gorgeous Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Designer Series Paper and had it out I thought I would add that to the panel.  It is so delicate.  The sentiment is from Petal Palette.  I added a little copper dragonfly from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. Also added some Copper Thread under the sentiment.

You can check out the other entries and why not play along too.

COLOUR INKSPIRATIONS #CI25

The Colour Inkspirations Challenges are back for 2018.  I am excited about that.  I really enjoyed taking part last year so I am ready again.

This week’s Challenge #CI25 is with the colours Night of Navy, Lemon Lime Twist and Whisper White.  I do like blue and lime together.  I have to say I was a little intimidated.  I have been watching the cards entered for the challenge over on the Facebook group HERE and thought, should I really bother??  There are some AMAZING creations! But it’s about challenging yourself so I did have a go.  SO … here is my card.

I have used the Epic Celebrations set from Sale-A-Bration.  I was inspired to colour the sneakers a bit like this from a card on Pinterest but then I couldn’t go back and find the card when I went to check it.  Maybe it was on a Facebook group I am on??? The layout for the card was from the Freshly Made Sketches #311.  As you can see from the sketch below I flipped the sketch on it’s side.  You can do that with sketches.  It doesn’t have to be exactly the same.

The Designer Series paper is from the Bubbles and Fizz pack from Sale-A-Bration.

The sneakers are coloured with the inkpads and Aquapainter on Thick Whisper White.  When it was dry I went over it with the Night of Navy marker.

The sentiment is stamped on Lemon Lime Twist and cut with the 1 1/4″ circle Punch.  This was layered on a Silver Foil circle punched with the 1 3/8″ circle punch.  This was then layered on to a scalloped circle cut from the Layering Circle Thinlits.  I added some Silver Thread under the sentiment pice.

What’s that zig-zag edge from?  The card needed something in Night of Navy under the piece but I wasn’t sure what to use.  I had just used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and saw the Zig-Zag edge on the bag Framelit.  So I took a small strip of Night of Navy and cut a piece out with that.  The star is from one of the other die pieces in that Thinlits set.  I raised that up off the card and added an adhesive Rhinestone to the centre.

I was happy with the end result but certainly not as amazing as many of the other projects.

I hope you like it anyway and it might inspire you. 🙂
