WATERCOLOURED LAKE WITH THE WATERFRONT!

Continuing on with Watercoloured landscapes scenes I have this card to share with you.  This card is one we will be doing at classes this weekend  but I thought I would share it with you.  I found this landscape scene on Pinterest and thought I would try to recreate it.  See what you think of the card with the original photo??

I used the Waterfront set to create the mountains and land and stamped the trees.  The lake and the sky are watercoloured with the Inkpads and Aquapainter.

Here is the finished card.

I kept the card simple.  With these cards you don’t want to cover up all the scene with a big sentiment or lots of fuss.  The sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life.

I have 3 sessions of classes this weekend so I hope they enjoy making this card and another 2.  I wish you could join us. 🙂

I will be back tomorrow though with another card.  This one is back to some simple stamping with the set.

BEACH HOUSES!

This is the first project I made on our stamping weekend this past weekend.  I just have to share this with you.  I was so pleased with how it turned out.

beach-houses

I live right near the beach so had to make a beach house. I have used the Sweet Home Stamp set and the Home Sweet Home Thinlits.  What a great versatile bundle it is.

Once I made the house I had to make a matching card.  Here are the details.

HOUSE: The roof is in Marina Mist. The house stripes are stamped in Smoky Slate.  I coloured the banners with the markers. The surfboard is the oval door stamp and die and I added the hatched line (if that is what you call it). The fin is from one of the banners and I cut that by hand and kind of rounded the points.

CARD: I cut the house out on Whisper White and then trimmed off just the front part of the house.  Then stamped the lines in Smoky Slate to match. I stamped another board for the card.  The “sand” was a piece of Crumb Cake card that I tore the edge off then inked it with Crumb Cake ink on the edge and in patches.  I assembled it all on a piece of Marina Mist card than I stamped the clouds from Sprinkles of Life in White ink.

I debated what else to do.  It needed something else but wasn’t sure how to add a greeting. Then I had a thought.  I cut the thin door frame from the Thinlits set from Crumb Cake card.  The centre piece that is left when you cut it I trimmed off and then stamped the Sentiment which is from Balloon Builder on to that.  I sponged these pieces a little too with Crumb Cake ink. I was really pleased with how that worked.

I have plans for more homes.  When I get to it. 🙂

Thanks for visiting today.  See you again soon,

Jenny

SPRINKLES OF LIFE FOR RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES!

Today I had my Ronald McDonald House Charities Fundraiser. Thanks everyone who came today.  It was a lot of fun.  We played some fun games with a guessing competition plus a coin toss for some great Stampin’ Up! prizes.Of course there was some stamping. We made 4 cute cards so I thought I would share the cards we made today.

I will share each of them with you. Once again sorry for the lighting of the cards.  I think I need to check my camera settings!!! 🙂

Firstly, this one in Delightful Dijon.  This was actually the last card I made.  I was wanting to make 4 different cards showing many ways you can use this set.  I really didn’t know what to do but just wanted the tree on it’s own.  I will just tell you a little trick with the leaves on the tree.  I inked the leaves in Delightful Dijon and then used the Cherry Cobbler marker to “thump” on the leaves.  That is just tapping the stamp with the thick end of the marker onto the stamp to pick up some of the Cherry Cobbler colour on the leaves.  The rest of the card was fairly straight forward and using some of the gorgeous Delightful Dijon Dotted Lace Trim.

This next card. (terrible lighting!).  This card was inspired by a card by Patty Bennett. Colours are Bermuda Bay for the base card.  The strip of card on the left is Watermelon Wonder with a banner from Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper

This one was CASED from one of my stamping friends Rachael Lewsley – Thanks Rachael 🙂  I love the splodges from Gorgeous Grunge. Colours are Tip Top Taupe for the cone and then Mint Macaron, So Saffron and Blushing Bride for the “icecream scoops”.

This one was CASED from Chiaki on Stampingpro.com.  Base card is Whisper White thick cardstock.  I cut the oval in the centre of the Pool Party card and then embossed with the Brickwall Embossing Folder. The scene is stamped on the white card base.  The stripes for the grass are stamped using the ‘Work of Art’ set.  I added the greeting by stamping in Memento Black and then cutting it using the Itty Banners Framelits.
