Wednesday’s WOW! #169.Some Fresh New Colours for creating Masculine Cards.
Do you find Masculine cards hard to make? I know I do. I resort to the blues, browns, yellows, reds.
Well, I have some fresh new colours to try.
What do you think? What colours will you try out next??
This is good timing with Father’s Day coming up soon here in Australia. But these are great for Birthdays and any other occasion for the boys. Big and Little Ones.
So maybe Pin this Image above or Save it so you can turn to it when you have some cards to make.
Happy Crafting,
Jenny

Happy creating now with lots of colour inspiration,
I’m so honoured to be hopping along as a Guest with Kelly Kent and the Paper Adventures Team today. Such a creative group of people. 🙂
The Blog Hop this month is a colour Theme with Pretty Peacock, Whisper White and Melon Mambo. I love both these colours but have to say haven’t used these colours together. So I wasn’t sure what I would do with them.
This is the card I have created. I think we are all dreaming of a tropical paradise right now. 🙂
I have used the Timeless Tropical Bundle for this card. The card was based on a recent Fab Friday sketch #187.
The frangipani flowers are stamped in Memento Black Ink on to Shimmery White card. I took the liberty to use this card for the watercolouring. 🙂 The flowers were coloured with the ink pad and the Aquapainter.
The Pretty Peacock card piece was cut with one of the Stitched Nested Dies and then embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder.
When I was assembling the card I felt the white card was a bit plain. I lightly swiped over some ink with the Aquapainter and Melon Mambo Ink. I would suggest you use the Shimmery White for this or even Watercolour paper. The Whisper White “pills” up a bit. It was risky but I thought I might be stretching it to use the Shimmery White for that. It turned out ok but then it is partly covered. 🙂
Now continue on your Blog Hop. You are off to Siobhan’s blog -> HERE or click on the NEXT button below.
Thanks for hopping with me and the Paper Adventures Team.
I have been using the Wishing You Well set lately and it is one we used at my Holiday Catalogue Launchlast weekend. I made a few samples which I will show you over the next few days.
When making these cards I discovered a new Colour combination which is becoming a favourite. I have seen these 2 colours paired together quite a bit over the internet recently and I just had to try it myself. How bright and fresh are these 2 colours, Lemon Lime Twist and Gorgeous Grape.
The Gorgeous Grape card is embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder (which I think I adhered wrong again!). This Wishing You Wellset is one of the Distinktivestyle sets. This means it gives different opacities to the stamped image creating depth to your image. It gives a very effective result without too much stamping.
I simply stamped the leafy stem once with the Lemon Lime Twist onto white card. This was then cut with one of the Layering Oval Framelits. I could have layered the oval on to a different piece of card but instead I sponged around the edge of the oval. The sentiment was stamped on Lemon Lime Twist card and cut with a Framelit from the Farmhouse Framelits Dies. I wrapped some Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon around the Gorgeous Grape card before assembling it to the base card.
It’s a quick card to put together. Watch for more cards with this combination. Why not try it yourself??
This is the Wishing You Wellset if you haven’t noticed it in the Holiday Catalogue. For $33 AUS for clear mount it is pretty good value and is a great set for any occasion, Thinking of you cards, sympathy, birthday and Christmas. It covers all bases I think. 🙂
