The excitement is building.  The new Catalogue starts TOMORROW!! Lots of new goodies to see.  I had my Catalogue Launch on Saturday.  It was a huge day and I thought I would show you some photos.  There are lots of photos so I apologize is advance. 🙂

DIGITAL BON VOYAGE!

My son Josh heads off to Fiji today for 4 weeks with Year 13 Gap Year Program that he has been doing this year.  They will be involved in the communities there providing care, support and ministry training.  It is a huge endeavour and while I am very excited for him to go and for all that he will experience, as a Mum it is hard to see them fly the nest.  😦

I wanted to make a card to send him off with but I didn’t have any stamps suitable so I made one on MDS (Stampin’  Up! Digital software program).  I am still finding my way around MDS but I SO LIKE it when I can just click ‘Undo’ if I am not happy with something I have put on there.  No wastage of card!!  After it was done I just printed it off on our printer. So here is my card.

My Project 50-001

I used the Digital sets: World Tour and Travel Log.  The Background DSP is ‘Made from Scratch’ (I think!).

Thanks for looking.  I am off to console myself now.  I might just play with real ink and stamps today.

Have a Happy Day 🙂

BLAST OFF FOR A 1 YEAR OLD!

I made this card a few weeks ago now just before Convention but with the excitement of Convention and the new Catalogue I hadn’t got around to showing you this yet.  This card was made for one of my Great Nephew’s 1st Birthday.  This is using ‘Blast Off’ which is on the retiring list.  It is such a cute set.  Here is the card.

P1120074

It was quite fun stamping and cutting these little characters out.  For the grey “moon” I cut 2 circles from Smokey Slate cardstock using the Circle Framelits and with one I punched out holes using the Crop-A-Dile and a small circle punch.  I then adhered them together and sponged the edge all around and over it randomly.  I used ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ to create little splodges in Daffodil Delight. For the spaceman I taped some White Baker’s Twine to the back of him and to the back of the moon to let him “float” around.  A cute little card for a cute one year old.

Make sure you grab this set before it leaves us in 2 weeks.  Then it is gone!!  You can check this cute set out below.

In the meantime, Happy Stamping 🙂

I KINDA LIKE “KINDA ECLECTIC”.

I know I said I would  post about my swaps I received and this is the second post today and still no swap photos.  I am getting there but I just had to show you this card I made yesterday.  I was really excited about it.  This is using a stamp set coming out in the new Catalogue called ‘Kinda Eclectic”. We received this at Convention last week and I just had to play with it yesterday. P1120747

I cut a window from the Whisper White card.  It would be easy with the Square Framelits but I didn’t have them with me at our stamp day yesterday.  I cut the square out using my Stampin’ Trimmer. This piece I then embossed using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. The starburst image in the window is stamped with Baked Brown Sugar Ink.  The butterflies are stamped with Crisp Canteloupe.  It is great that these fit the current Butterfly Punches (the Elegant Punch and the Bitty Butterfly Punch)!!! The leaf image I stamped in Pistachio Pudding and cut out freehand.  The Birthday greeting is from Apothecary Art and stamped in Baked Brown Sugar. I snipped the ends of the greeting piece into banners.  A little bling goes a long way to finish it off.

Hope you like this.  I can see lots of uses with this set.  I will play again soon. OK, I will show you my swaps next post. 🙂

SOUTH PACIFIC STAMPIN’ UP! CONVENTION IS STARTING!!!

YAY! I am a little excited.  By the time you read this I should be in Melbourne ready for the South Pacific Stampin’ Up! Convention.  There will be so many inspiring new ideas, some sneak peeks of new products and best of all meeting up with Demonstrators from Australia and New Zealand. It’s great to finally meet face to face after chatting and sharing comments online on various groups.  There are so many inspiring Demonstrators around here.

Another fun part of Convention is swapping.  It’s a great way of getting new ideas and seeing different ways of using a stamp set or other tool.  I thought I would share the swaps I made today.

The first one is CASED from a clever Demonstrator (Michelle) on a Facebook group I am on.  I loved the idea of it.

P1110923

This is such a clever idea but so simple!!! Just cut the sheet of card length ways, score in half, then on one half cut it in half. Done!!  Decorate as you like.  I will show you photos of them individually.  Sorry about the lighting.  It was bad weather when I took the photos a couple of weeks ago and I have only just noticed, but it gives you an idea.

Here is a view with it open to give you an idea.

P1110926

The next card was CASED from Dawn Olchefske. I can’t find the card on her blog.  I think I found it on Pinterest????  This is a clever way of using the Circles Thinlets Die.  A great retro card for the Birthday Boy???

P1120081

CARD: Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White.  STAMPS: Music Notes Wheel, Gorgeous Grunge. PUNCHES: 1 3/4″ Circle, 1 1/4″ Circle, 2 step Owl Punch, Chevron Border Punch.

I will show you my swaps I receive back next week.  They are always great to check out.  Have a great week.  I know I will 🙂

HAPPY WATERCOLOR THANKS!

Just a quick post for you today.  We are heading off for the weekend to our Church Camp.  I get back Sunday and then get ready for Convention in Melbourne.  So much excitement!  I thought though I would show you these little Thank You cards I made for my lovely customers who have placed orders recently.  I do appreciate them. 🙂

I have used the set ‘Happy Watercolor’ from the Occasions Catalogue.  I can’t believe this set is not in the upcoming catalogue.  So if you want this set you better grab it now!!

P1110979

This is just a simple, quick card.  They are 10cmx10cm cards (4″x4″).  I stamped the flower in Baked Brown Sugar and the the splodge over the flower either in Crisp Canteloupe or Pistachio Pudding.  I stamped the dots over the card and added the Thank You from the set.  A little bow with the Linen Thread finished it off.

Have a wonderful weekend.  I will stop by early next week and show you my swaps before I head to Melbourne.
