A BERRY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I thought I would show you one of the cards we made at Card Class last week.  I have been playing with the Happy Birthday Thinlits and Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

This card was CASED from Mary’s blog HERE.  I just didn’t add the DSP layer and kept it a little simpler.

I am loving the new Incolors.  I have used Berry Burst, Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist.

Thanks for visiting,

Jenny

OPEN HOUSE REVIEW AND A WALK THROUGH VIDEO!

Over the weekend I had my Open House Events for the new Catalogue.  I had some lovely ladies coming along for lots of fun and creativity.  I thought I would share some photos and a video for you.  Once again I didn’t take photos of when people are there…. I always forget that.  There is too much going on.  🙂

I just had a small display of samples but that’s OK.  Sometimes it can get a bit overwhelming when people first come along.

Firstly, the video for you.  (If you receive this post via email then head to my blog post by clicking on the Title and you should get there to view it properly)

I will share details of some of the cards I showed in the video over the next few posts but here is just a couple of still photos to share.

The Eastern Palace Suite Display.  I have shared most of these projects over the last few weeks.

Color Theory Suite.  I will share more details of these later.

New Product Display

Incolor Flower Box using the Delightful Daisy Bundle The box is made using the Wood Crate Thinlits.  This was inspired by a Demonstrator on a Facebook group I am on. The centres are the new Gold Faceted Gems.

Everyone received a Thank You Gift for coming of a little pack of Incolor ribbon and a bow, some Gold Faceted Gems and a chocolate. It was all gifted in a Wood Crate.  The flower is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous set.

Lucky Door Prize for each event was some 6×6″Eastern Medallion paper, Easter Gold Vinyl Stickers and Gold Ribbon.

Sorry if you couldn’t make it along.  I wanted to share some of the creations with you though.  If you are local then try and come along next time.

LEMON LIME LABEL ME PRETTY!

I have been busy all week getting things ready for my Open House this weekend showcasing some lovely new products.  I will share some of these after the weekend but I shared this card on Instagram this afternoon so thought I would quickly post it here for you. (BTW: If you are on Instagram you can follow me.  Just do a search for Jenny Hayward). 🙂

I needed to make some cards using the new Label Me Pretty Bundle.  Now when I get a new stamp set I do a little searching online for samples using sets that are very similar.  So in this case I was looking at the old Chalk Talk set and a few “tags” type sets.  I couldn’t believe how many stamp sets that Stampin’  Up! have released with the word “tags” in the name.  Anyway, I came across a few older cards that inspired me through Google searches and on Splitcoaststampers.

I had this small strip from the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I just LOVE this Lemon Lime Twist paper in the pack and I couldn’t bare to throw this strip out. I sometimes keep small pieces but end up throwing them out at the end of the catalogue as I hadn’t got around to using them.   Not this time though … 🙂

This was the finished card I created.

I stamped one of the “label” sideways on white card to create a flourish effect in Lemon Lime. The strip was adhered to the card and then I tied around some Thick Black Baker’s Twine.  This was adhered to the Lemon Lime base card. Another label was stamped in Berry Burst on to the Berry Burst card and punched out with the Pretty Label Punch.   The sentiment is stamped in black on to white card and cut with a Layering Circles Framelit.   They were both raised up off the card with Dimensionals.  I added some Rhinestones to the card but still felt it was a bit plain so after a day of looking at it I very nervously stamped some leaves from the Colorful Seasons set.  I was so worried of messing it all up and getting ink everywhere at this point BUT it worked!! Phew!  I think it might have been good to sponge the edge of the card with Lemon Lime ink but I wasn’t going to bother with that at this point.

So a simple card but funny that the whole card was designed around this little strip of paper!

LET’S MEET THE 2017 INCOLORS!

You have possibly had a chance by now to see the 2017 Incolors.  Stampin’ Up! releases 5 exclusive new colours each year usually to freshen up the Colour Collections and be on trend.

What do you think of this year’s colours??  I thought we would get to know them a little better.

We have Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder  Pink and Tranquil Tide.

BERRY BURST

A deeper shade of Pink to Melon Mambo and a little richer.  I think this colour complements the other pinks so well and really brightens most other colours when they are used together.

FRESH FIG

This rich purple colour is darker than Rich Razzleberry which so many people love. It is slightly lighter than Blackberry Bliss which was an Incolor a few years ago.

LEMON LIME TWIST

OK.  Hands up.  Who didn’t like this colour when it first came out?? I have to say I nearly lept out of my chair when I first saw it.  I LOVED IT!  If you have seen my craft room and my studio you would know that I have a lot of the Lime Green colour around.  I was so excited. 🙂

I think this colour is so bright and fresh and happy.  It brings life to all the other colours.  I am in Looove. ❤

POWDER PINK

This pink is a darker shade to Pink Pirouette which I am glad.  And it is a more true pink than Blushing Bride.  I do use that colour a lot for pink but I am glad that this shade of pink has joined the team.

TRANQUIL TIDE

I do love this shade of Green.  It is darker shade than Emerald Envy and certainly Bermuda Bay. Quite a rich calming green I think.

Here are all the cards together for you.

I have used the Detailed Floral Thinlits for these and used the 2 Thinlits together.  The ribbon, which is the Incolor Fine Woven Ribbon covers the small line that you get when you emboss them.  The sentiment and stamped banner are from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous set and punched out with the Classic Label Punch. I discovered that one of the Banners from the Bunch of Banners Framelits dies will fit with the Classic Label Punch when it is punched out.   I was excited about that.

I put together a Colour comparison Chart which is what I usually do each year.  It is good to compare the Incolors to other current colours.  I thought I would share that with you.  The lighting is hard to capture each colour accurately.

I would love to know what your favourite Incolor is??  Drop me a comment.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny

TOP 5 FAVOURITES FROM THE 2017 CATALOGUE!

I have had the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue for a few weeks now.  That’s one of the bonuses as a Demonstrator. 🙂  I thought I would share with you my TOP 5 FAVOURITES from the Catalogue. Yes narrowing it down to just 5! 🙂

Here they are:

1. 2017-2019 Incolors (p184). How can you go past this year’s Incolors.  I will have a separate post just on the Incolors but they still had to get a mention here in the TOP 5 count.

The colours are just gorgeous but I think my favourite colour is Lemon Lime Twist.  It is so bright and fresh and I think gives life to the other colours.

2. Colorful Seasons Bundle.(p146-147). $92.50AUS I have had so much fun already with this bundle.  I think you will love this.  The images in the stamp set are so versatile and the sentiments are so inspirational.  Watch out for more creations with this Bundle.

3. Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  (p76-77) $64.75.  Lots of cute flowers and leaves in this stamp set with sentiments in a beautiful font.  Mix and match the images to create your projects.  The Happy Birthday Thinlit is a  great addition for your Big Shot diecutting.

4. This Little Piggy. (p48) $49 W  $33 C AUS  This cute set had to get a mention.  The “Three Little Pigs” Nursery Rhyme was such a favourite with my children ( and maybe me …)  I have to get this set. Those piggies are so adorable.

5. Layered Leaves 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. (p211)  $16 AUS  I will be interested to try this Embossing Folder when I get it next week.  These Dynamic Embossing Folders have a deeper, more 3D appearance. (if you remember the Cable Knit folder recently??).

So there is my Top 5.  What are your favourites??

Want to see a fun Stampin’ Up! video showcasing the great products?

I’M CRAZY ABOUT YOU!

Today I am looking at the Crazy About You set that is retiring.  I have had fun with this set over it’s time.

This one we did as a Stamp A Stack card back a few years ago.  In Night of Navy and Calypso Coral with Crushed Curry for the sentiment piece.    I added a little strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper too.  I think we did this in another colour combinations but I can’t seem to find that one. I think it was Daffodil Delight instead of the Calypso Coral. I do like this colour combo though.

I think this one was a Make and Take at a few workshops.  This one was in Primrose Petal and Pear Pizzazz.  Having the diecut words for these cards just gives it a little more dimension.

This one was a card sample.  This was quite some time ago with Lost Lagoon and the 2 step Bird Punch for the leaves.   The background is the Hardwood background stamp which is inked in Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is from Butterfly Basics.

The flower stamp matches so well with the Flower Medallion Punch (also retiring, $31 AUS). No hand cutting this baby. 🙂

The words in the Crazy About You set are very versatile for so many different occasions. You can also get the ‘Hello You’ Thinlits ($41 AUS).

You have less than one week now to get any of these retiring products.  Be quick now!  Stop on by my store to order.  Please use the HOST CODE: 2WNURG3N
