TAG BOX TUTORIAL!

Yesterday I showed you the projects I made for the Stamp-A-Latte Blog Hop using the Snowflake Thinlets.  If you missed it just head back to the post before.  I didn’t have time in that post to show you how I made the Tag Box so I thought I would show you that today.

Here is the cute box to show you again.

P1140518

Here is inside the box showing the tags I made too.  The green strip of DSP from the Nordic Noel DSP is not a Belly Band.  I just added it to the top of the acetate and adhered the ends inside the lid.

P1140519

You can decorate this however you want to.  The finished size is 9cm x 9cm x 2cm (3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ x 3/4″). But how did I make it?? Here is the Tutorial for you.

TAG BOX

For the Base

NB: If you intend to stamp your box then do so before you assemble the box!!

Cut your card to 13cm x 13cm ( 5 1/8″ x 5 1/8″).  Score on each side at 2cm (3/4″).

Fold on all score lines and cut up the 2 tabs on one side and again on the opposite side.

P1140461

Place adhesive on the small tabs and assemble the box.

For the Lid

Cut your Acetate to 13.4cm x 13.4cm (5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″) and score at 2.2cm (7/8″).

Fold on all the score lines.  You may want to use the Bone Folder to burnish (press down) the score lines more.

Cut up on the 2 tabs on one side and then again on the opposite side.  Place adhesive on the tabs and adhere together.  I used Fast Fuse or you could use Sticky Strip.

This lid is a little snug.  You just need to jiggle it in but it works fine.

Decorate your box as you like.  I lined the base of this box.  The paper size I used was 8.5cm x 8.5cm (3 3/8″ x 3 3/8″).

These fit the tags in just nicely.  The tags are punched with the 1 3/4″ circle punch.

Don’t just think of them for tags though.  Why not add some chocolates???

P1140522

Enjoy making them. 🙂

CHEVRON TRAVELER!

I wasn’t sure of this stamp set when I first saw it.  How about you?? But with all my stamps before I buy them I do a little research on the internet to see what clever people have created with these sets.  Sometimes I have a look at some cards with similar stamps or style that the set has. It gives me some ideas of what I might come up with. I decided that this set might just fill a hole in my masculine stamp sets – and I have to say I like it. I was playing around with this set the other day and created this card.

P1130112

I was inspired by a card on Splitcoaststampers with a similar type of stamp set.  I changed it a little and added the Starburst circles to it too.

The  base card is Smoky Slate and I embossed a piece of Tangerine Tango card with the Chevron Embossing Folder.  I stamped the train in black Stazon on Whisper White card and added the Washi Tape strips on the corner. This was adhered to a Smoky Slate card mat.  The Starbursts were stamped in Tangerine Tango and Smoky Slate and raised up with Dimensionals.  A simple card but HEYyou don’t need fancy for the boys 😉

Thanks for visiting me today.

BLAST OFF FOR A 1 YEAR OLD!

I made this card a few weeks ago now just before Convention but with the excitement of Convention and the new Catalogue I hadn’t got around to showing you this yet.  This card was made for one of my Great Nephew’s 1st Birthday.  This is using ‘Blast Off’ which is on the retiring list.  It is such a cute set.  Here is the card.

P1120074

It was quite fun stamping and cutting these little characters out.  For the grey “moon” I cut 2 circles from Smokey Slate cardstock using the Circle Framelits and with one I punched out holes using the Crop-A-Dile and a small circle punch.  I then adhered them together and sponged the edge all around and over it randomly.  I used ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ to create little splodges in Daffodil Delight. For the spaceman I taped some White Baker’s Twine to the back of him and to the back of the moon to let him “float” around.  A cute little card for a cute one year old.

Make sure you grab this set before it leaves us in 2 weeks.  Then it is gone!!  You can check this cute set out below.

In the meantime, Happy Stamping 🙂

FRAMED SWALLOWTAIL!

I can show you this card now.  I made this for my lovely blog friend Patti all the way in the U.S.  It is her birthday TODAY and I wanted to send her some special birthday wishes.  This card was inspired by one on Pinterest.  That card had the beautiful butterfly watercoloured.  I have to say I had 4 attempts at watercolouring this but it just wasn’t working.  I messed it up every single time.  So I stamped the butterfly on Pink Pirouette in black Stazon and left it be.  Really there is so much detail in this gorgeous stamp you really don’t need to do too much.  So here is my card.

P1110948

The original card had the frame cut using the On Film Framelits.  I don’t have those.  I used one of my Square Framelits and cut out the centre from a piece of Whisper White. I embossed the greeting from ‘Simply Sketched’ with Gold embossing Powder.  I added some strips of Gold Washi Tape to finish it off. Now I did mean to set it at an angle but it just looks like I stuck it down crooked.  The white frame was a little larger and it didn’t sit as well as I would have liked.  Once it is down it is not going to be moving!! The card base is Cherry Cobbler.

So make sure you go and say “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to Patti on her blog here and check out her lovely creations while you are there.

Thanks for visiting.

STAMPIN’ UP! + BECKY HIGGINS = PROJECT LIFE!!

BH_StampinUpAnnounce_041514_01

How exciting! Have you heard the news?? Stampin’ Up! and Becky Higgins have partnered together to bring you PROJECT LIFE!!! This is such a simplified system of scrapbooking.  Even I think I can handle this 🙂 The great thing too is that they will be available in Stampin’ Up! colours so they will co-ordinate with our card and ink and other embellishments.

Project Life Products will be available in the new Catalogue starting on July 1st.  (If you can’t wait until then, join Stampin’ Up! and you will be able to get your products early! I would love to welcome you to my team).  If you want to know more then head here to see what Becky Higgins herself says about this.

Here are some of the questions she answers.

Q: What types of Project Life products will Stampin’ Up! offer?

A: You’ll see Card Collections, Accessory Packs, Albums, Photo Pocket Pages, tools, other accessories, and Stamps, of course!

Q: Are the card designs the same as what we can buy in the stores?

A: Nope! We have worked with Stampin’ Up! to design all new products that are super fun and a perfect match to their existing color lines which will make coordination a breeze. Some of the Photo Pocket Page designs are the same and some are different than what we currently offer.

Q: How do I buy these products?

A: Beginning May 1st, (THIS IS IN THE US) you can purchase products directly through the Stampin’ Up! website or, better yet, you can find a local demonstrator. PICK ME! PICK ME!! HERE IS MY DEMONSTRATOR WEBSITE TO JOIN AND TO SHOP!

Q: Why order through a demonstrator?

A: Stampin’ Up! has a worldwide demonstrator base who understand their products better than anyone. Many offer in-home workshops, online parties, and local events (depending on the demonstrator and the area). The personal expertise and service make purchasing through a demonstrator a wonderful and unique experience and can also form great friendships!

Q: Where do I learn about becoming a demonstrator?

A: Visit the Stampin’ Up! website to learn more. (See the question above for more information)

Q: How do I sign up to become a demonstrator so I can sell Project Life myself and make money doing it?

A: Once you’ve decided that this is a great opportunity for you, you can sign up through their website.   Here is my link again.

Q: Are the products packaged the same as existing products (i.e. Core Kits, Mini Kits, etc.)?

A: Most Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products will be sold in Card Collections of 100 cards with 4×6, 4×4, and 3×4 card sizes included. Each card will be printed front + back as all of our current products, but you will not receive duplicates of any cards in the set. Oh – And we’re doing square (not rounded) corners on all of our cards with Stampin’ Up! Yes, there’s an awesome corner rounder punch included in the product line-up if that floats your boat. There will also be Accessory Packs available (sold separately) that will contain a variety of accessories to complement the Card Collection.

Q: Will the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products be available in digital format?

A: They sure will! Stay tuned for more information on when those will become available.

So stay tuned here for more details as the time gets closer!!!! Excited Much!!

GOLD IS IN!!

Gold is the new HOT colour at the moment.  It is very in vogue.  Did you know that???  We have lots of lovely gold products in the Occasions Catalogue.  I played around with the new Gold Fancy Foil Vellum a couple of weeks ago.  It is available in silver too.  There are 9 sheets per pack (12″x12″ size sheets).  There are 3 each of 3 different designs.  They are just beautiful to use on their own or as a little addition to a card or project.  One of the projects I made was this cute little bag.

P1110208

It is always hard to tell the size by a photo.  So check it out against an Embossing Powder pot.  Isn’t it just the cutest???

P1110209

They are the easiest little bags and can be made up in no time. I have tied the bag off with some of the gold cord that comes with the ‘Good as Gold’ card kit from Sale-A-Bration.

These would make nice little wedding or party favours.  If you would like to make this bag you can get the instructions from Sam’s blog here.

Thanks for stopping by. Now go and get your gold on!!
