WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #157 – TIPS FOR TYING BOWS

Wednesday’s WOW! #157 – Tip for tying your bows.

Do you struggle with tying bows on your cards?? I get a groan every time in class when I say we have bows to do.

Here’s a tip that might help you.

Wrap the ribbon around a block or you could try an inkpad. These are a little more sturdier to tie the ribbon which helps. Tie your bow then snip the ribbon at the back. Then you can add the the ribbon to the card by tying the ends around the back.

Give that a try. I hope it helps you.

TRIPTYCH WITH STARS AT NIGHT STAMPS AND DIES!

Have you heard of the Triptych Technique? I have shared a card with this some months back.

A Triptych is a work of art made of 3 panels or pieces. Early known pieces date back to the Middle ages. This technique is a great one in our card project.

This was a card we created with this technique for our Stars at Night Bundle over the weekend. It works well with multiple images or a scene.

On white card stamp over the images. This card uses Boho Blue, Balmy Blue and Smoky Slate. Then cut the white panel in to 3 even pieces. For the class I had the card cut already in to 3 panels. Then place the white panels closely together and stamp.

The sentiment was diecut with the Something Fancy Dies.

We created 2 different cards with the Stars At Night Bundle too.

SWEET SUNDAY – ALWAYS WITH ME!

Our Sweet Sunday today I couldn’t help but check this stamp set out. The Always With Me set. It’s such a sweet one.

I have to show you these cards. (They are created by Stampin’ Up! artists).

You are my greatest Gift. This one actually brings tears to my eyes. I remember my 2 little ones I could pick up and hug. They are too big now. They are such a blessing to my life – and are my Greatest Gift. I am so Thankful for them.

Love You card. It’s a simple card but a sweet one.

These have both been coloured with the Stampin’ Blends. The Greatest Gift card has a background using the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks. The Texture Paste has been coloured with the Crushed Curry Reinker.

This is the stamp set.

This is a lovely stamp set with line art images. You can colour it with Blends, Watercolouring or even leaving them without colour.

It’s available in the current Mini Catalogue which ends the beginning of January BUT it will be carried over to next year which is great.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #156 – USE BOTH DAISY DIES AT THE SAME TIME FOR DIFFERENT COLOURS!

Wednesday’s WOW! #156 – Use both Daisy Dies at the same time for different coloured flowers.

This is a great effect. If you don’t have the Daisy Dies you could use any layering flower dies.

How it works? Layer the dies together on one coloured card and diecut out. Diecut again on a different coloured card. This works well with white and another colour.

Swap over the different shapes and layer them together for a different look.

Try it out with what you have.

SWEET SUNDAY – WISHES ALL AROUND!

It’s not just one card for this Sweet Sunday. It’s the whole bundle. The Wishes All Around Bundle.

I think this bundle is so fun with the circles of trees and snowflakes. We don’t often make cards with snowflakes here in Australia. It’s too hot and sunny for that at Christmas. But the trees are very cool!

Let’s see them.

This one is stamping the trees twice. Once in Garden Green on Soft Seafoam and again in Garden Green on Garden Green. Then layer them together and add a little of the foliage. But how quick is it with the Brushed Gold Cards and Envelopes.

This is another one with the trees. Stamped in Bubble Bath and then again in Moody Mauve. The Moody Mauve trees are snipped out and layered on to the Bubble Bath ones. Oh! And check out the background. There Bubble Bath Ink has been swiped over the card base.

Here is another card so you can see the circle of snowflakes.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #155 – CREATE A LAYERED LOOK WITH MASKING!

Wednesday’s WOW! #155 – Create a layered look with Masking.

Here is a way to create a great effect on your One Layer cards (as in just a card front) by giving the look of layers using a mask. See how.

To create the look firstly use a post it note to mask off an area. You can position it across ways or even at an angle.

Stamp your images so they stamp over the edge of the masked area on to the card. Remove the mask. You could leave it as it is and stamp your greeting BUT to give the look of a layer. Use a ruler and Stampin’ Write Marker (Thick Tip) and draw a line. This highlights the section.
