COPPER CHRISTMAS TREE!

I realised I hadn’t shared this card with you.  We made this at our team meeting a couple of months ago. Thanks to Vanessa Webb for creating it and sharing it with us.

This is using the Perfectly Plaid set in the Holiday Catalogue and the Pine Tree Punch.

The Plaid tree was stamped with Pretty Peacock directly on to the Vanilla card base. The other tree was heat embossed in Copper on to Night of Navy card and punched out with the Pine Tree Punch. This tree is raised up with Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Most Wonderful Time stamp set and heat embossed in Copper. A little star is added from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements. At the top tie around some Night of Navy Baker’s Twine.

You can’t forget the gorgeous Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper. Add a strip along the bottom with a strip of Night of Navy card.

I am back with another Sunday Suite today.  Before the weather heats up too much here I thought we should look at this cute Let It Snow Suite.  We don’t usually get snow at Christmas.  Well I can’t say never because strange things have happened … 🙂

Snowmen are not usually the first thing we think about for Christmas though with the heat and we are usually making sand men rather than snowmen.  But you gotta love these cute snowmen.

CHRISTMAS GLEAMING HOLLY!

A couple of weeks ago on my Facebook and Instagram I shared a photo of holly that I was colouring.  I finished the card and thought I would show you now.

The holly was watecoloured using the Aquapainter and the ink refill. The card was inspired by a card in the catalogue (p30).  I changed mine a little but I have to say I was really happy how the holly turned out as I am not great at colouring.

Some of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Paper was layered on to the Pretty Peacock card base before assembling the rest of the card.

The white rectangle was cut with a rectangle from the Rectangles Stitched Dies. You don’t need much to the rest of the card with the gorgeous Brightly Gleaming Specialty paper.  I punched an ornament out from the paper and the other one was stamped with one of the ornaments in the Christmas Gleaming stamp set on to Pretty Peacock card and punched out. What about the cute little Copper Star Designer Elements??

OCTOBER STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD BLOGHOP – MAGNOLIAS!

Back with you again for another Blog Hop with the Stamping Around The World Tutorial team. Using the same stamp set we have used in our tutorial project for the month I have used the Magnolia Blooms stamp set.  You might have come from Allie’s blog -> HERE. or starting on your way from this post. Either way, enjoy the hop.

I won’t give you all the specific card sizes but it is the standard card size. Each layer (the black and the white) are 4mm or 1/8” smaller in size. The paper strip from the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper is the length of the white card and 4 1/2 cm or 1 3/4” width.

On the white card stamp the Magnolia with Memento black. Then adhere the paper strip along the bottom. Wrap around the Black Ribbon before adhering it to the black card mat.

On scrap white card stamp the Magnolia again with Memento and colour it with the Stampin’ Blends. I used Petal Pink and Granny Apple Green. Hand cut that out and adhere it on to a Vellum circle.

The sentiment is heat embossed in Copper and cut with the small Rectangles Stitched dies and layered on to the little Ornate Frames Dies.

NATURE’S BEAUTY MOONLIGHT FOX!

I have another Nature’s Beauty card for you today.  This card was inspired by a card on Pinterest HERE.  There was no name on it and it was a photo that didn’t lead to a blog or any other site that I can see so I apologize BUT I liked the idea so I built on that.

A few details on the card so you can create your own.

Cut a circle from scrap paper so you can create a mask.  Hold this firmly in place on white card while you sponge or use removable adhesive to keep it secure.

Using Balmy Blue ink sponge on the card.  First start off the card then sponge in from the edge of the card by rubbing in circles not patting the sponge down.  Continue sponging until you are happy with the effect having the colour darker on the edges and lighter as you move in.

Use Night Of Navy ink and with a different sponge, sponge in from the edge of the card a little. Building the colour so it is darker on the edges.  Remove the mask circle.

Stamp the fox in Memento ink and also the bushes. Colour the fox using the Stampin’ Blends (Crumb Cake) and the ground coloured in Granny Apple Green.

Adhere to the Night of Navy Card base.  Stamp the sentiment on to Crumb Cake card and cut with the die from the Ornate Frames Dies.  Raise up the tag with Dimensionals and add a small box from the Night Of Navy Twine.

For some bling I coloured a Rhinestone with the Dark Night Of Navy Stampin’ Blends.

2019 HOLIDAY CATALOGUE CARD SWAP!

Recently I joined a card swap for the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.  Swaps are great.  If you are not sure what they are, you make a number of a card and swap with others.  You end up receiving some great cards in return for the lot of 1 card sample that you made.

I thought I would show you my swaps I received.

WRAPPED IN PLAID CHRISTMAS GLEAMING!

Today I wanted to show you the second card everyone got to make at the Hot Chocolate Bar Holiday Catalogue Launch.  If you missed the other card head back a post.

This card is made using the Christmas Gleaming Bundle but I matched it with the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper. It gives it a totally different look.

I made this card for a swap group I have been in too.  I will show you the other cards I received in the swap in a later post.

So this is the card.  It’s a half-fold card.  That’s what I call it anyway.

The card was inspired by a card by Julie Davison.  It was using a totally different stamp set and paper but I liked the idea.

To create the card, cut your card vertically in half giving you a long piece of card.  Score that in half.  Then I cut one section of it in half.  It’s a very easy fold to do but something a little different.

I cut a length of the Wrapped in Paper and punched the end with the Banner Triple Punch.  You can create it any length you like.  The width though is 5cm (2″) so it can fit in the punch.

The ornament was stamped in Cherry Cobbler on white card and punched with the Gleaming Ornament Punch.  It was then layered on a Cherry Cobbler circle cut with the Stitched Circles dies.  The little flourishes were stamped in Shaded Spruce on the front of the card.

Here is the inside.  Adhere a piece of White card inside and you will see this from the front which I stamped the holly on. The little dots are stamped in Crumb Cake around the holly.

It’s a fun card and very easy layout.

Try it sometime yourself with maybe even a different stamp set.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #83 – USING THE ORNATE FRAMES DIES!

Today’s Wedneday’s WOW! #83 – Checking out the Ornate Frames Dies.  Have you noticed these dies?? They are on page 53 of the Holiday Catalogue – in the Halloween section.

I have to say for us in Australia we don’t really celebrate Halloween.  It is getting bigger but we don’t make cards and treats and hand them out to everyone.  You don’t even get people knocking on your door a lot which I am glad about that. 🙂  Anyway, I digress. What I was saying is there are some little gems in that section of the catalogue which are really good for creating for any occasion just like the Ornate Frames Dies. 

I really love these dies.  I love the detail in some of them with the flourish edges and some of them have stitched edges. We all love that.

So you can see them easier I diecut them all out.  Some of them layer together.  Some you can use on their own.

World Cardmaking Day is coming. While we all have fun creating, this year I want to use it to raise money for Mental Health.

We all know someone who is suffering Mental Health challenges.  Resources to help are so limited.  Let’s make a difference together.  And if you can’t make the day you can still support us.

Using the special Nature’s Beauty stamp set we will make 3 cards while having lots of fun, Tea/Coffee will be provided and there might even be a giveaway or 2.
