FESTIVE FLURRY WORKSHOP CARD!

It’s been a bit quiet here don’t you think?? Well don’t you worry I haven’t been sitting around doing nothing.  Life is at a super crazy pace.  With the end of year activities, Christmas preparations and family stuff there hasn’t been a lot of time to stop.  I have hardly been on the computer at all! It’s late but I thought I should share something this week.  This is a card we have been doing at my parties over the last month or so using the very popular ‘Festive Flurry’ set and the popular Christmas colours this year of Island Indigo and Pool Party.  It is simply stamping and layering the different sized snowflakes.

P1100169

For the bling factor I added a large Rhinestone to the centre. The greeting is from ‘More Merry Messages’ which is on the Carry-over list.

One time when I made this card I stamped the wrong size snowflakes. Ooops!! Not to worry.  No point wasting them.  I just created another card layering them in a different way.

P1100172

I will be back soon.  I have some fun projects that I can’t wait to share with you.  I think after this weekend things might be a little clearer – maybe – hopefully!!

Come and visit soon and check it all out.  Have a great weekend everyone. 🙂

For my US visitors, I hope you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with your lovely family and friends.

BLUE BABY PRINTS!

Last weekend at a workshop I did (was it really nearly a week ago!!) the hostess wanted scrapbooking.  Well, if you have been following my blog I don’t do a lot of scrapbooking.  I really need to – and I would like to do more but ……………. !  Anyway, I rose to the challenge and after several attempts I created this page.

P1070686

I have used the ‘Baby Prints’ Set.  It was nice to ink that up finally.  What a cute set for Baby scrapbooking pages.  This is an 8 1/2″ x11″ page.  The colour of the card is Baja Breeze.  It looks a little green in the photo.  See the little embellishment on the BABY square.  I will give you a close-up.

P1070687

I have used the Sale-A-Bration set ‘Pretty Petites’.  (This is one of the free choices you can get for $100).  This is stamped in Pacific Point and punched out with the Petite Curly Label Punch (another free Salel-A-Bration choice).  I added a Clear Faceted Button and Whisper White Twine bow. For the word “Baby” I inked up part of the text with the Pacific Point marker.

I wanted to show them how you can step-up this page to create a 12″x12″ page.  This is the finished page.

P1070732

I added a scallop edge at the top and bottom of the 8 1/2″x11″ page.  The DSP strip is from ‘Floral District’.  Check out this little tag.

P1070734

This was created with the ‘Pretty Petites’ stamp set too.  The ‘B’ is from the ‘Calendar Alphabet and Numbers’ set (retired).  I punched out a silver glimmer paper heart using the owl punch.

Now just to find a photo that fits.  I went through all Josh’s baby photos and couldn’t find one suitable.  I will have to do a bit of editing on one I think!

I hope you like this cute page.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.  Stay safe.  We have very heavy storms heading our way this weekend.

THE END IS NIGH FOR SALE-A-BRATION AND THE SUMMER MINI!!

I can’t believe that Sale-A-Bration and the Summer Mini Catalogue ends TODAY!!  These last couple of months have simply flown by!  The SAB choices this year have been absolutely awesome and I am sad to see them come to an end.  I have shown you a lot of projects using them over the past couple of months.  I still have some I haven’t shown you yet.  I will see if I get around to that.

Today I want to show you a couple of cards from the Summer Mini.  Poor Mini Catalogue 😦  I think some of these have been overlooked because there has been so much to show from Sale-A-Bration.  These cards are using the set “Bold Blossom” which is a really cute set and so versatile.  This co-ordinates so nicely with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.

The original idea for this card came from Jill’s Ink here.  I changed the colours and the greeting but I loved the idea.  I  used Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade.  The greeting is from ‘Sincere Salutations’.  Now that’s a set I haven’t used for a while!!

This next card I demonstrated at a workshop recently.

Colours are Lucky Limeade and Pretty in Pink.  The flowers were stamped on scrap Whisper White card and punched out with the 3/4″ circle punch.  They were raised up off the card with dimensionals and a Rhinestone added to the centre of each to give it the ‘Bling’ Factor!  For the top of the card, I punched the edge of a piece of Pretty in Pink card with the Scallop Border Punch and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Stripes Embossing Folder.  I tied a piece of Pretty in Pink Grosgrain ribbon around it before adhering it to the card.  The greeting is from ‘Fabulous Phrases’.

Well I hope you have got your free Sale-A-Bration stamps, paper or brad and ribbon pack.  Maybe you have got them all!!!  I have enjoyed them all.  But tomorrow the Autumn Mini Catalogue starts and that has some fantastic products too.  I look forward to showing you them over the next weeks and months.  I hope to start showing you some tomorrow so I hope you stop by again soon.

Until then,

WISTERIA WONDER + EXTREME ELEMENTS

I hope you have had a great Saturday? I know I have! The sun has been shining which has been good to see – and today I had my Sale-A-Bration Launch.  We had a great time together  I think – didn’t we ladies?????  I won’t mention the toilet paper game here 😉

I haven’t got a photo of the little treat bag I made yet but I will show you the card everyone got to make for the Make and Take.

I have used Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade card.  Don’t you just love those colours together????  This is using the set ‘Elementary Elegance’, one of the stamp sets you can get for FREE during Sale-A-Bration. Have a close look at that stamped frame.

This stamp goes with so many current Catalogue stamp sets.  (Artistic Etchings, Pocket Silhouettes, Extreme Elements [which I have used here], as well as So Swirly Wheel).  I’m sure you could spot a few more.  So this is certainly a stamp to add to your collection.

I used Elegant Eggplant ink.  The punch strip was created with the Dotted ScallopRibbon Border Punch and then a little butterfly cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.  This is a very simple design but I like the colours together.

This is based from a card I made a few weeks ago using Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze.

This card was originally inspired by a card I saw on SplitcoastStampers by Chris Smith.

Have you seen the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue yet?  If not, click on the link in the right hand column and check out what you can choose for Free with every $100 order.  If you would like your own copy then contact me to send one out to you.

Ok, I have to run now.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  I’m hoping the sun will shine again tomorrow.  That will be a novelty!!

RAZZLEBERRY DOILY BOX!!

You might remember a rectangular black and white box I showed you a little while ago.  (I will give you this link below if you missed it).  Recently  we did one like this box in Razzleberry for a workshop.  Of course, I used the brand new stamp set ‘Delicate Doilies’.

For this box we stamped the doily in Razzleberry over the box.  The pink strip was run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Dots Embossing Folder.  It’s a long strip, so you run it through once and then turn it around and run the other end through.  We punched 2 flowers out in Pretty in Pink with the Fancy Flower Punch.  These were scrunched several time and distressed.  Then we ran the Pretty in Pink ink pad to pick up the colour on the creases.  These were adhered together and added to the top of the box with leaves from the 2 way Bird Punch.  The doily was stamped again on scrap white card and the centre punched out with the 3/4″ circle punch.  This was adhered to the centre of the flower with dimensionals and then Dazzling Diamonds Glitter was added using 2 way glue pen to add the ‘bling’.  Here is a close-up.

The instructions for making the box and to see the black and white box I created can be found here.

I hope to be back again soon with some more creating.  Maybe I will show you some Christmas creations!

See you soon,

MOTHER-OF-PEARL SAIL AWAY!

I thought with school going back this week that I would have lots of time to get back here, but I don’t know what happened.  Here it is the end of the week already.  I wanted to show you another card I have made using the fantastic stamp “Sail-Away”.  This one I created a couple of weeks ago for a workshop I did.  This is a great technique to use with this set and is so easy.  Here is the card.

If you are not familiar with the Mother of Pearl Technique, then I will describe how to do it below.  For this card, I used the sanded backkground on the Cherry Cobbler.  The greeting is from “Teeny Tiny Sentiments” and punched out with the Modern label Punch.  To stamp the boat I used Black Staz-on.  It is really important to use Staz-on as it is Gloss Card.

Here are the instructions for Mother Of Pearl Technique.  It probably would have helped to have some photos to help BUT I didn’t think of that this time.  So I hope you can understand it.

MOTHER OF PEARL TECHNIQUE

First off,  you need Gloss cardstock, white shimmer paint and a small piece of cling wrap.

I poured a small bit of shimmer paint onto some acetate.  You could use a plastic plate or even the plastic cases from your stamps. (you can easily wipe this off them when you are finished).  You don’t need a lot.  A little goes a long way!  Scrunch your piece of Cling Wrap into a ball and lightly pounce the ball onto the shimmer paint to pick some paint up.  Lightly pounce the ball onto the piece of Gloss cardstock.  You don’t want to completely cover the card, just in patches.   (Hope that makes sense!!).  You need to let the paint dry.  You can use the heat tool to speed up the process if you are impatient like me 🙂  Once dry you can sponge ink over the card.  (On this card I sponged with Baja Breeze). Then polish the card with a tissue.  This really brings out the shine.  Here is a close-up of the card.  (Not all that clear really, but I hope it helps a little).

Here is a stepped up version of the card.

On this one.  I scrunched up the Basic Black cardstock before adhering it to the card.  But before adding this I punched out the sentiment with the Curly Label Punch and adhered this under the Black piece and added some twine.

Using this technique I created another card which I shall show you next time.  Thanks for stopping by and please say ‘Hello’.  It’s nice to know I’m not talking to myself here.

Until next time,

EXTREME SURFER MAKE & TAKE!!

I can’t believe how quickly these weekends fly by!  The start of another week.  I have been wanting to get back here to show you another of my ‘Extreme Elements’ cards I have been playing around with lately.  This card was a Make and Take we did at a workshop a couple of weeks ago now.

I think this is one of the first times I have used Pacific Point.  I think it teams really well with Baja Breeze.  I stamped the images from Extreme Elements over the front of the Baja Breeze base.  The splodge was stamped in Baja Breeze onto Whisper White and then overstamped with the ‘Extreme Surfboard’ in Pacific Point and then layered onto Pacific Point cardstock.  The greeting is from Short and Sweet.  It was  punched out with the Word Window Punch and then a piece was punched out from Pacific Point with the Modern Label Punch.  This was then layered with dimensionals onto the card.  The original design for the card came from Splitcoast Stampers.  I modified it a bit to make it simpler for a Make and Take card.

I really love the ‘Extreme Elements’ stampset.  They are a great addition for those “Hard-to-do” Male cards!  I have had fun playing around with them.  I have another card I have made which I will show you next time.  I’m not so sure about that one though!

I hope you have a great week ahead – and fill it with lots of stamping!!!

A DASHER MAKE AND TAKE!

Just stopping by with a quick Christmas card.  I have a few Christmas projects to show you that I have done recently.  Thought I would start off by showing you this card I have been doing at some Christmas workshops over the last month or so.  This is using the lovely Dasher Stamp.

I sponged some  Champagne shimmer mist on him before stamping on Very Vanilla card.   It is a bit hard to see his real sparkle.  I embossed the Cherry Cobbler with the Very Vintage Embossing folder.  (I’m loving that folder!)  I added a strip of the Jolly Holiday DSP.  The greeting is from ‘Teeny Tiny Sentiments’ and punched out with the large oval and scallop oval and raised up with Dimensionals.  It was all adhered to the Old Olive Base.  You can’t beat these for Christmas colours!

I’m off now.  It is getting late.  We have just got home from my son’s school music concert.  He has been studying World Music this semester and being a teen doesn’t tell me anything he does at school.  I was amazed!  They performed some Irish pieces and a Brazilian samba.  It was very impressive.  I asked for an encore performance at home but I’m still waiting on that one!!

Be back in the next few days with some more Christmas projects so stop by again really soon.

A BOXY BAG!!

I hope you all had a good weekend.  The weeks are just flying by.   It’s amazing to think that school holidays are just around the corner again!!!  It doesn’t seem that long ago that they headed back for this term.   As promised I said I would show you the creations we made at my ‘Mystery Hostess’ Workshop last week.  It was a fun day. We had several Rounds of Catalogue Scavenger Hunt to get familiar with the new catalogue.  And it’s always good when someone goes away with some special prizes!!

We made 2 projects.  A bag, known as the Boxy Bag and a card.

The little boxy bag is very cute.  It only measures about 11cm high.  I found the original idea here.  I had these instructions done out in metric but just can’t locate them at the moment.  So I will get back to you with that shortly. (Edited to add: I have now done another post with a Boxy Bag in metric measurements. You can find that post HERE). Before I assembled the box I stamped the flower from ‘Printed Petals’  The other flowers were stamped, cut and mounted with dimensionals after I put the box together.  This is a cute bag to put some little goodies in.

The small card was created with the strip of card that I cut off when cutting out the box.  It only measures 8.5cm square.  I thought that was a good use of card – and makes a nice matching gift set!!  It is a very simple card stamping several of the flowers onto Whisper White and matting it on So Saffron and then the Regal Rose.  The sentiment is from ‘Teeny Tiny Sentiments’ and stamped in Black.

On the way to making this card I had started off with a standard size card and then went smaller.  So I ended up with a similar card in several sizes!

I have to race off now.  It’s getting on to home time for the kiddies.  I will be back soon with more creativity!
