DID YOU KNOW STAMPIN’ UP! HAD BERMUDA BAY GLIMMER PAPER??

Well, you can make any colour you like!

You might have seen you can colour any embellishment like the Rhinestones and Pearls or ribbon with the Blends BUT I had a play with something else the other day.  Did you know you can colour the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with the Stampin’ Blends.  Now before you rush off and try it there are a couple of important notes.

** Use the Brush Tip end of your marker and only GENTLY brush over the Glimmer Paper.  Too hard a rub may damage the nibs of your marker.

** Only colour the area exposed so you don’t waste the ink.  You can see further below.

Here is the card I made with colouring the Glimmer Paper.

This is using the set Color Me Happy now available.  I have coloured the bird and the flower with the Stampin’ Blends.   Plus I coloured the Adhesive Pearl in too.  When I assembled the card I embossed the White card mat with the Softly Falling Embossing Flower and added a strip of white that was cut with the Flourish Thinlits under the Merry Little Christmas DSP.  (Don’t just keep this paper for Christmas!).

Getting back to the Scallop Circle.  I cut a scallop Circle using the Layering Circles Thinlits from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  Then coloured just around the edge of it gently with the Dark Bermuda Bay Blends marker.   You don’t want to press hard with the marker.   Also, you only need to colour the outside edge that will be seen.

So what colour Glimmer Paper will you make??  Have fun with it.

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

WATCH IT WEDNESDAY #11 – COLOURING BEAUTIFUL YOU WITH THE BLENDS!

I have been sharing a lot of projects using the Stampin’ Blends.  I am really enjoying them.  So easy to use and I am feeling like an artist!!!  Well, maybe I have a little way to go.  A few weeks ago I played with the Blends with the Beautiful You set.  So I thought I would show you these in Watch It Wednesday #11.

Here are the 3 cards but I will show you them individually further below.

I did colour these a few weeks ago and I have worked on my colouring a bit more but you might find it helpful.

Here is the video for your enjoyment.

Here are each of the cards so you can see them close-up.  I have kept the layout similar but created them in different colours and changed the Embossing Folders.

Night of Navy with the Sparkle Embossing Folder.

Rich Razzleberry with the Petal Burst Folder.

Cherry Cobbler with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.

Did you notice the Rhinestones?? You can colour them with the Blends too.

So I hope you might have a play with them.  They are really not hard at all to use and I love the effect with them.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny

A WEDDING CARD IN A HURRY!

Last Friday I was in a rush.  Josh had yet another wedding to go to.  I thought I had a wedding card made as I made up quite a few at one time a couple of months ago.  But I didn’t keep up with how many weddings he has been to lately!!!  So this was a wedding card made in a hurry.

This card changed a lot over the time I made it but in the end I went with this.  It was hard to get a good photo of it so I do apologise for the lighting.

The base is Sweet Sugarplum and the white card is embossed with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. I only just received this folder.  I can’t believe I waited so long! The sentiment which is from Always and Forever is heat embossed by Copper Embossing Powder.  The white circle was layered on a piece of Copper Foil cut with the Layering Circle Framelits.  I played around with different things on it and wasn’t sure which way to go.  Like I had so much time to muck around with it…  In the end I cut a few of the flowers and leaves from the Flourish Thinlits.  A few loopy Copper Threads and an adhesive pearl finished it off.

I hope you like the finished result.  Maybe I should have done 2 as there is another wedding for him to go to in a couple of weeks … 🙂

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

ELEVENTH HOUR STAMPING FOR COLOUR INKSPIRATIONS #20!

I had a little time this afternoon to make a quick card for the Colour Inkspirations #20 Colour Challenge.  I usually don’t stamp on a Monday with other commitments on but in between them and phone calls I got some stamping in just in time for the challenge to close.  These were hard colours this round and I wasn’t sure what I would do.  This card changed a few times along the way.

Firstly, the colours: Calypso Coral, Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke.

They look so pretty in the picture don’t they but I don’t often work with such heavy colours.  And I don’t use Always Artichoke.  I don’t even own the inkpad for it!  I used the Stampin’ Write Marker.  Here is my card.

I dusted off the Swirly Bird set and the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits for this one.  The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  I dusted that one off too. 🙂

To finish the card I added a touch of Paper Doily under the Banner with a strip of the Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon.  And for the “bling” factor I added a small dragonfly from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits and some adhesive Pearls.

So I have posted it just in time.  If you want to check the other cards out or join in these challenges yourself then head over HERE.

ALWAYS AND FOREVER ANNIVERSARY!

I was asked by a lovely friend to make 2 Wedding anniversary cards for 2 of her children who are both celebrating their anniversaries this month.  I haven’t made too many anniversary cards so wondered what to do.  Then … My order arrived with my Stampin’ Blends and the Always and Forever set.  🙂

These are the cards I made.

I wasn’t sure what I would do with the stamps though.  I cut some squares of white card and would see where it would take me.  I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Ink on Thick Whisper White card.  That is essential when using the Stampin’ Blends.  Then they were coloured them with the Blends.  On scrap card I stamped them again. For the tree stump I stamped it in Night of Navy and cut the little hearts and adhered them straight on to the image. For the tree rings I stamped it on Night of Navy card and cut the heart out and then raised it up with Dimensionals and added a Rhinestone to the heart.

Instead of adhering the white card to a card mat I added a strip of either Silver Foil or Copper Foil at the top and bottom of the white card.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Delightful Daisy DSP.  The sentiment is from the Best Birds set and cut with the Bunch of Banners Framelits.

What do you think?

You can see the Always and Forever stamp set in my store now -> HERE.

A bonus of being a demonstrator is that we get to order the products way before customers can.  It gives us much more time to play with them.  When I first got my Stampin’ Blends a couple of weeks ago I also ordered this new set Color Me Happy.  It’s such a sweet set.  I shared these cards on Instagram and Facebook but hadn’t got to share them with you as yet.  So it seems a good time now to show you what I have been doing.

What do you think of this Color Me Happy Set.  Very cute??  This set is $47 W or $33 C.

There is also the Color Me Happy Card Kit. This kit includes card stock and all embellishments to make 16 cards. Cost is $41 which is not bad for $2.60 per card.  You would need to buy the stamp set separately to use with this set.
