December Product of the Month has just been released. This is the gorgeous True Blue Florals 12″x12″ Designer Series Paper.

What do you think??

Here are some projects with this paper. I will be back later to share more with you.

With this one below the lined flowers were fussy cut from one of the papers. It looks so great. The other smaller flowers were cut from another pattern and the centres coloured in yellow.

Use your paper as the card base as a different option.

This one below uses 3 patterns from the paper. And those lovely flowers from the Pretty Florals Bundle but you could use any stamps/dies.

That about a patchwork design. It’s a great way of showing off the different patterns. For this one diecut a number of squares. Having the “dotted” edge from the Stylish Shapes gives a good effect but you could cut your squares with a Paper Trimmer. With the paper squares and some of the white square cut them in half diagonally. I would suggest then laying the pieces out in your patchwork look pattern before you adhere them down. And a TIP: maybe cut a piece of card the same size as your finished piece and adhere the white triangles and paper triangles directly to them to make it easier.

Don’t miss out on your Product of the Month this month. But remember these are WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.

If you need to shop for your supplies and you are in Australia then I would love to help you get them. You can head to my store -> HERE OR Contact me directly.

RELAX WITH THE STAMPIN’ UP! NOTES AND TOTES ~

It’s another chill card with the Notes and Totes Bundle. But for this card I gave the tote a miss and went for all the essentials one needs on a warm day – the suncream, water bottle and cool sunnies.

This is a fun bundle to put together. You can make lots of variations with it. It gives those sunny, beach vibes.

On the little flower centres that were stamped on the bottle I added on the bottle with the Wink of Stella to make it sparkle. The paper is from the Everyday Happiness Pack. I love the colours in this one.

This is the Notes and Totes Bundle if you haven’t seen it.

Hope you can “relax and enjoy” today.

Happy Crafting,

Jenny

CHRISTMAS IN JULY WITH STAMPIN’ UP! FROSTED FOREST!

This card is one of the cards we made at our Christmas in July event last weekend. This one uses the Frosted Forest Bundle.

While this bundle does have the masks this card just uses the stamps and dies.

Firstly stamping 3 trees on the white card mat. Basic Beige has a subtle green tinge to it making it work really well with the colour tones on this card. Just a tip: Stamp the centre tree first and then stamp the other 2 either side. That helps them to be more centred.

The larger tree was stamped on Old Olive card in Old Olive ink and then diecut. The sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season stamp set and diecut with one of the dies from the die set.

Adding a little strip of patterned paper adds an extra element to a very simple card. The paper is from the Flowering Zinnias Paper pack.

This is the Greetings of the Season Bundle. There are a variety of greetings for the festive sesason you can put together or use just on there own. They are in 2 different font styles. I particularly like the die shapes. You can use them for any occasion. And they have a stitched edge!! Don’t we like that.

This one is the Golden Greenery Bundle. With traditional images of greenery and bells and berries. There are a number of co-ordinating dies for these too.

These are available as Online Exclusives. They can be ordered online or ordered directly in my store. HERE

Happy Crafting,

WATCH IT WEDNESDAY #5 – BLENDER PENS VS AQUAPAINTER!

Welcome to Watch It Wednesday #5 edition.  I have been playing a little with watercolouring lately.  (still much to learn!).  I have had a few questions from customers asking what the difference is between the Blender Pens and the Aquapainters.  I came across this video from Stampin’ Up! so thought I would share it with you.  Perhaps it will help you too with your watercolouring.  Don’t miss the fun tip at the end.

NB: If you receive this blog post update via your email the video link may not show up.  Just click on the blog post title in your email and it should take you to the blog post and you can view it there.

What did you think??  I liked the tip with the Reinkers.  Must try that sometime.  I think the effect looks great.

What do you prefer to use when you are watercolouring?  I prefer the Aquapainter but it also can depend on what you want to colour and how you want it to look.  The Aquapainter gives a lighter, washed look whereas the Blender Pen gives more a look of colouring with Markers.

Just a note too:  In the video she stamped with Stazon.  Stampin’ Up! doesn’t carry Stazon any longer.  You could use the Black Archival ink pad. Be sure to let that dry a bit or give it a blast with the Heat Tool. Also, she suggested stamping on Watercolour Paper.  That is very important to stop pilling but you can also use the White Shimmer paper or even the Thick Whisper White if there is not too much water used.  I mostly use the White Shimmer paper.

The Aquapainters and the Blender Pens are available in my store now for your watercolouring.  The Aquapainters are $20 for 2 available HERE.  The Blender Pens come 3 per pack and they are dual ended (even more value).  They are $21 available HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today for this week’s edition of Watch It Wednesday.  If there is something particular you would like to know about or to see a video of then drop me a comment and I will see how I go.

BEFORE THE BIG SHOT!!!

Sometimes at classes when we are talking about the Big Shot we wonder what we did before we had the Big Shot.  I love the Big Shot and everyone who sees it loves it too – and wants one!!! Isn’t that right?  I was sorting through one of my big boxes of cards today and I came across some very early cards I had made.  I don’t have many left but sometimes it is good to look back at them.  I thought you might be interested.  Now I am a little embarrassed to share these but well, we have to start from somewhere don’t we.  I made these cards back in late 2008 and in 2009 in my very early days as a Demonstrator.  I remember being so proud of these at the time.  I had never done any stamping until just before I joined.  So I share these with you.  You can laugh, you can cringe or you can just ignore them completely BUT here they are for the blog world to see ……………..

This was one of my very early cards.  This was the first stamp set I bought with Stampin’ Up! that came with my Starter Kit and I must admit the first stamp set I ever owned.  This was a favourite set though ‘Baroque Motifs’.

I hardly every use Chocolate Chip now.  This is teamed with Certainly Celery.  I even added a little dazzle with Dazzling Diamonds.  No Rhinestones back then. 🙂

P1180200

I don’t mind this card really but well I didn’t even own any ribbon.  I just used a thin strip of cardstock tied in to a bow.  This card was for a workshop a long time back showing the Rock and Roll Technique.  Once again using Certainly Celery. I used a lot of that colour back then.  It’s not available now and no that is not Bermuda Bay it is with.  This is Taken with Teal (retired). My first inkpad I bought.  The light flowers were stamped in Versamark onto the base card.  I had used Regal Rose (not available now) and Rose Red.

P1180202

I still love the layout of this card.  I think I will have to try this one again with some new stamps. 🙂  I think I CASED this from the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue at the time??? There was no Pinterest back then either.   I used Pink Passion (no not available now either) and Elegant Eggplant.  I don’t think I have used that colour combination since.  The greeting was from ‘Sincere Salutations’ (retired).

As I think on these cards and other earlier ones I realised that I used more stamping techniques where now I rely on the Big Shot to cut and add texture.  I think I need to get back to some more stamping techniques.

But enjoy your chuckle as you look at these.  We shall move on now to new products and new catalogues.

Only 2 more sleeps until the new catalogues begin.  I am excited about this.

See you again very soon.

Jenny
