WATCH IT WEDNESDAY #2

I think many people liked the idea of Watch It Wednesday when it launched last week.  Thanks everyone for your comments and messages.  Each Wednesday I am planning to bring you a video on a fun new project, or product help.

We are back for Watch It Wednesday with #2.  Today I have 2 videos for you.

Since the 2017 Holiday Catalogue has just gone live I thought I would bring you a fun video of one of the Bundles in the Catalogue.  This is the Ready For Christmas Bundle – and you just have to love Bonnie from Stampin’ Up!.  She is so gorgeous. 🙂

What do you think of this Bundle?  That little Dachshund is so cute.  I like that you can see how all the little pieces can go together.  Even thinking out of the box (Carrot???) 😉

This next video is a great one by Stampin’ Up! to see many of the products in the Holiday Catalogue.  I love how they have been putting these videos together recently for the catalogues. I would imagine they would take some time though.

I hope you liked them. Thanks for stopping by today,

Visit again soon,

TWO MORE CARDS WITH CHRISTMAS IN THE MAKING!

Following from the card I shared yesterday I have 2 more cards to show you with the Christmas in the Making set.

I do love the images in this set.  Very retro! I am not sure of the colours I have used though and the colouring is not great but I was pleased with the finished cards.

For both these cards I have used the Merry Little Christmas DSP again on the black side this time.

The mailbox image for this first card was stamped on Shimmery White cardstock and coloured with the Inkpads and Aquapainters.  It was then layered onSilver Foil sheet and Real Red cardstock.

The image for the next card was stamped on Thick Whisper White and coloured again with the Inkpads and Aquapainter.  The sentiment was stamped and then cut with the Stitched Circle Framelits and layered on a Real Red scalloped circle using the Layering Circle Framelits.  I wrapped around some of the thin Real Red Solid Ribbon before adhering the paper to the base card.

I wanted to do something a little different.  Have a close look.

I stamped the image again on Thick Whisper White, coloured just the gifts, the bow and the girls collar and cut them out.  They were then raised up off the card with Dimensionals giving a 3D effect.  The white gifts were coloured with the Clear Wink of Stella pen.

Here are the 3 cards together for you.

CHRISTMAS IN THE MAKING!

Of all the new stamps I recently ordered from the Holiday Catalogue I pulled out this set first; Christmas in the Making.  I was looking at doing some watercolouring so I thought I would have a go with it.  I must say in advance I am not great at watercolouring.  But as I tell my daughter you can only get better at something if you keep trying. 🙂  Anyway, apologies in advance.

This is the first card I made with one of the images in the set.

The image was stamped with StazOn on Thick Whisper White card. I coloured the lady with the Watercolor Pencils and blended it with the Aquapainter.  I will show you a close-up of the skirt.  I coloured that with the Clear Wink Of Stella brush.  It is a little hard to see in the photo.  It gives it perhaps the look of Organza fabric, very soft and shimmery.  That was the effect I was going for anyway.  I went over the ornament too with the Wink of Stella to give it a sparkle.

I used the Olive side of the Merry Little Christmas DSP pack (p 12). I don’t think this paper is shown so well in the catalogue but it has some really lovely prints and I think will be versatile for occasions other than Christmas.  Have a look at this below. It comes in 12″ x 12″ sheets.

To finish the card off wrap around some of the fine Real Red Solid Ribbon.  For the sentiment I stamped it on a strip of Whisper White and angled the ends.  It needed something so I added some Silver Glimmer paper.

This is the stamp set, Christmas in the Making if you had missed it in the catalogue. (p 16)

W $44   C $31

Tomorrow I will show you cards with the other 2 images.

CAROLS OF CHRISTMAS CLASS CARDS!

I have had my Carols of Christmas class this weekend.  I thought I would show you the cards we made.  Everyone loved using this bundle and making these cards.

The first card was one of the cards from my Carols of Christmas week last week.  (If you missed that head back a few posts.  I posted a different card each day with this bundle).

This one is using Fresh Fig and adding a little Copper Foil.  It’s hard to see but I wrapped some Copper Thread around the Fresh Fig card before adhering it to the White card base.  We had a Fig and Gold combination as well which was still nice.

The next card was inspired by one on Pinterest but it took a different direction – as it does sometimes.

The double trees were cut from the White card mat and adhered to the Emerald Envy card mat. You can see the green trees through the cut window. Another tree was cut from a small piece of Emerald Envy and then raised up with Dimensionals.  We added a little sparkle with the Dazzling Diamonds.  You can just run around the edge of the tree with the Fine Tip glue and then sprinkle with the Dazzling Diamonds.  The sentiment is cut with a Circle Stitched Shapes Framelit.  And of course, don’t forget those cute little deers. These are cut from Sahara Sand card.

The last card which I think was the favourite of each class as it was so different is the Square Z-Fold Christmas.  I am loving these Z-Fold cards.

While I have just received my new Christmas paper this one used retired Christmas paper from a few years back.  I still had so much left and really it was the idea of the card.  I never normally use retired products in class but I didn’t have anything else, And yes it’s not an idea to use retired stuff as everyone says “I love it! can I buy it?”  :/

The flowers and leaves were stamped and cut using the Thinlits and adhered off the card with Dimensionals.  Adhesive Pearls were added to the centres.  Don’t you love that frame??

If you want to make your own Square Z-Fold card, then head HERE to a recent post with this card fold.

There you have the 3 cards we made.  This bundle is SO versatile.  It is endless what you can do with it.  I hope you can grab your bundle and you can get it this month – early!

Here is the bundle if you have missed it.

You can grab it in my store now HERE (Australian residents only) and get started on your Christmas cards.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  See you again soon,

Jenny

CAROLS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 5!

DAY 5

Today’s project is actually a gift box.  It is always good to have little boxes to fill with chocolates or treats.  This is not a new box for me but I will give you the instructions shortly.

I created the sentiment the same way as I did on the card from yesterday.  You can go back to that post to check it out if you like.  This box was just the right size to add the die cut frame on the top of the box.  The ornaments on the side was added as an afterthought.  It needed something there.  I probably should have thought of that before I assembled the box.  So stamping on this afterwards was a little stressful.  I held a clear block to the back of the panel when I stamped – and held my breath. That is an important stamping requirement you know. 😉  It turned out well not just once but twice.  I was so lucky!!

To make the box:

I designed this box a few years ago now.  You can find the Original post with the instructions in Metric and Imperial on this post HERE.

Here is the card and the box together to see what a great pair they make. Funky for Christmas do you think?? 🙂

CAROLS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 3!

DAY 3

This card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest using a different Christmas set.  I like the idea of the “negative” cut trees.  Check this out!!! The Designer Series Paper is from the Delightful Daisy DSP.  It’s not even a Christmas paper!  It looks like falling snow though doesn’t it.  🙂  The other trees are cut from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

The sentiment on this card is from the Holly, Berry Happiness set.  Such a nice sentiment.  It is stamped in Smoky Slate.  Sometimes I like stamping in the grey.  It is just a little softer.

CAROLS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY 2!

DAY 2

This card was actually the first card I made using the Carols of Christmas set. I have to be  honest though I am not too sure of it.  I didn’t want to hit you with this one first.  (you might not come back!!)  Anyway, it’s a different style for me.

I have seen a lot of the loopy ribbon and sequin trim behind a sentiment or image block.  I thought I would try that effect.  This is the retired Gold trim.  I don’t have the current mini sequin trim.  I am really not sure of this look though. What are your thoughts??

The sentiment is Heat Embossed in Gold for a little shine.  I matted it on the Gold paper from the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper and added a little colour with the mini ornaments in Tranquil Tide, Real Red, and Dapper Denim.
