SNOW GLOBE SEAHORSE!

You have probably seen the Still Scenes stamps and the Snowglobe Scenes dies in the Holiday Catalogue along with the Snowglobe Shaker Domes.  These make fun Christmas cards and we had a great time using them in a class recently.  You can use these products not just at Christmas time.  I was looking around on Pinterest and found some fun ideas using other occasions stamps.

For this one I used the Seaside Notions stamp set to make a fun snowglobe.

To make this I diecut the circular shape with the die in the set on the white card then embossed it with the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder.  I used a small piece of white card and traced the circular shape on to the white card in pencil so I could see the area to stamp on to.  Then adhere one of the Shaker domes in to the embossed white card from behind.

The images were stamped on the scrap white card in Memento and coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.

To assemble the card the stamped white piece was adhered on to the Seaside Spray Card mat.  Then carefully add a little glitter. I used the Ice Stampin’ Glitter and also some Snowflake Sequins. Remove the backing off the Snowglobe Shaker Dome and carefully position it on to the Seaside Spray card mat.  Then you can adhere the whole piece on to the White card mat.

To finish stamp the base in Smoky Slate and cut that with the die and raise that up off the card with Dimensionals.  Stamp the sentiment from the set on to scrap white card and cut this with the Ornate Frames Dies and also cut one in the Silver Glimmer Paper.  Cut the silver one in half and adhere that behind the white one to off-set it . Adhere that on to the card and add a bow from the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon.

The Still Scenes Bundle will be carried over But as individual stamps and dies.  If you buy them now as a bundle you will save 10%.  See them -> HERE in my store.

Thanks for visiting me today,

Happy Stamping,

Jenny

#ELFIE PAIR!

I have to say the little #Elfie set is kinda cute don’t you think.

Recently I stamped up a few images when I visited a friend and just managed to colour them and make up the cards on the weekend.  I thought I would show you.

I had some “bits” of the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper hanging around and thought I should try and use those rather than cut in to another full piece.  The Wrapped in Plaid Paper does have Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce colours in it but I think the Real Red colour still works well with it.   The images were coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.

For the first one I cut down some of the strips of the paper to add them to the white card mat.  I added some sparkly Red Glimmer Paper and the Real Red Satin Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.

This next one I added a small strip of the Gold Foil behind the paper and layered it on to a Real Red Card mat.  The stamped image was cut with the Rectangles Stitched dies.  I think the sentiment is appropriate for this cute elf.  This is from the Itty Bitty Christmas set too and it was layered with the Gold Foil Diecut frame from the Ornate Frames Dies.

Hope you like these cute elfies.

See the other cute images in the stamp set -> HERE.

Have a great day,

NATURE’S BEAUTY MOONLIGHT FOX!

I have another Nature’s Beauty card for you today.  This card was inspired by a card on Pinterest HERE.  There was no name on it and it was a photo that didn’t lead to a blog or any other site that I can see so I apologize BUT I liked the idea so I built on that.

A few details on the card so you can create your own.

Cut a circle from scrap paper so you can create a mask.  Hold this firmly in place on white card while you sponge or use removable adhesive to keep it secure.

Using Balmy Blue ink sponge on the card.  First start off the card then sponge in from the edge of the card by rubbing in circles not patting the sponge down.  Continue sponging until you are happy with the effect having the colour darker on the edges and lighter as you move in.

Use Night Of Navy ink and with a different sponge, sponge in from the edge of the card a little. Building the colour so it is darker on the edges.  Remove the mask circle.

Stamp the fox in Memento ink and also the bushes. Colour the fox using the Stampin’ Blends (Crumb Cake) and the ground coloured in Granny Apple Green.

Adhere to the Night of Navy Card base.  Stamp the sentiment on to Crumb Cake card and cut with the die from the Ornate Frames Dies.  Raise up the tag with Dimensionals and add a small box from the Night Of Navy Twine.

For some bling I coloured a Rhinestone with the Dark Night Of Navy Stampin’ Blends.

There you have it.  Hope you like it.

I do hope you consider ordering the Nature’s Beauty stamp set.  It has some sweet images for many occasions and also has a few other stamps like the bushes, trees and snow falling that are great fill-ins.

Thanks for visiting me today,

Happy Stamping,

Jenny

NATURE’S BEAUTY FOR WORLD CARDMAKING DAY 2019!

This weekend is World Cardmaking Day. A great day to celebrate what we love – to create cards and sharing them.

This weekend I am having a special class to celebrate World Cardmaking Day.  It is focusing specifically on the Nature’s Beauty stamp set. We are getting together not just to make cards but to raise money for Mental Health.  I will show you one of the cards we will be making but also tell you how you can help me raise money for Mental Health too, even it you can’t make the class.

For this card I stamped the fox in Memento Black and coloured them with the Stampin’ Blends; Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron.  The white card was cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies and trimmed off a little at the top to straighten it off.  The strip of paper is from the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper.  On top of that you wrap around some Linen Thread.

The trees were stamped several times in Mint Macaron on the card mat with some stamped snow drops along the top of the card.

I am so looking forward to this fun class this weekend.  BUT if you can’t make it you can support Mental Health too.  Let me tell you how.

  • Order the Nature’s Beauty stamp set, Stampin’ Up! will donate $4.25 to local Mental Health Organisations.
  • Place any order between October 3rd and October 6th and I will donate 20% commission to Headspace.

This is for Australian residents only sorry.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #82 – COLOURING THE MAGNOLIA LANE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER!

Wednesday’s WOW! #82.  Today is a little technique, or a little trick however you like to look at it.  It is colouring the Designer Series Paper, particularly the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper with the Stampin’ Blends.

Perhaps you have seen this around the internet so apologies that you have already seen it. It’s not my original idea.  I have had this card made for a few weeks and just managing to share it with you now.  It might just be a new trick though for you.

The Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper is very pretty already. You really don’t need to add colour but it’s good to add a little different colour to make it for a totally different occasion.

Colouring with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends makes the flowers look more like Poinsettias for a Christmas paper.  With this particular print you don’t need to colour the leaves.  They will work just as well as they are.

So here is the finished card.

The sentiment for the card is from the Itty Bitty Christmas set punched out with the Timeless Label Punch. They are great Christmas sentiments in this.  Add a little of the Scalloped Lace Trim and I cut some gold leafy shapes using the Flourish dies.

It looks pretty Christmas-y now don’t you think?? 🙂

I am sure this would work well for other papers and colours too.  I was going to try another one but ran out of time.  Add it to the ‘To Do’ list.

Happy Stamping,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #72 + BIRD BALLAD WEEK DAY 3 – COLOURING THE PRETTY BIRDS!

Today is a double Whammy for you.  We have Wednesday’s WOW!  and also we are up to Day 3 of my Bird Ballad Week.  Today I have a video for you. I have been colouring the little birds and the flowers from the Free As A Bird stamp set so thought I would actually share a video with you.

This is the card I will show you how to colour in the video.

See the video below.  Bare in mind that this is a new area for me so it’s a work in progress AND I have a bit of a cold so the volume might be a bit quiet.  Just turn up your volume and watch away.  And you can fast forward in parts of the colouring. 🙂  I will work on that too.  I do appreciate your feedback though.  Good or bad – I can handle it.   Thank You. 🙂

I really like the Stampin’ Blends for colouring.  They make it so easy to get the contrast in colours.  I love that a lot of the images with Stampin’ Up! have shading on different parts of the image so you can follow these to get the contrast as well with the Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends.

I hope you found this helpful?  Would you  like more videos like this?  Constructive criticisms welcome.

I still have more to show you with this bundle so be sure to stop by again tomorrow as we continue our Bird Ballad Week,

Jenny

BIRD BALLAD WEEK – DAY 2 – MORE WITH THE GORGEOUS PAPER!

I have 2 more cards for you forDay 2 of Bird Ballad Week.  These use the gorgeous Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper again and now with a little colouring with the Stampin’ Blends.

This one above is another really quick card.  This little birdie was coloured with the Petal Pink and the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  It was inspired by the sweet birds on the paper.  I just added some of the gorgeous Mint Macaron Ribbon.

For this one above I diecut a window using the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies in the Calypso Coral card base. I added a piece of the Bird Ballad paper behind it.  To cover it on the inside of the card I adhered a piece of white card over it.  You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to. I just thought that would make it look neater on the inside.

Back to the front of the card I stamped some small flowers in Calypso Coral ink over the front of the card and added a “thank you” – nervously I must admit as I didn’t want to mess it up.  But all good that worked.

On some additional Thick Whisper White I stamped some of the flowers and leaves in Memento Black ink and coloured them in with the Stampin’ Blends.  These were fussy cut out.

Thanks for visiting me again today.  See you tomorrow for some more pretty birds.

Jenny

NEW WONDERS TRIO!

I don’t really do cute-sy, But I really loved this sweet set New Wonders in the catalogue.  It arrived recently and of course had to have a play.

Disclaimer: I am not great at colouring.  And I will try and avoid it if I can.  I will say though that this set makes colouring a whole lot easier.  The designers of this set have created shadows in the images so I just followed these to give the different depths of colour.  A bit like Colour by number except with shading instead.

Here are the trio of cards for you.

I will show you them individually to get a closer look.

This one above was coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.  The Highland Heather mat is embossed with the Lace 3D embossing Folder.

The top one here is coloured with the Stampin’ Blends as well.  I have to say this was the second attempt at colouring this one.  It wasn’t going well. I outlined the little fairy image with the Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends to give it some dimension.  It’s much softer than the grey I usually use. I have used the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder with this one.  I love the sweet sentiments in this set too. Behind the diecut circle the image is on I diecut a scalloped circle in the Dazzling Glimmer Paper.  That is a little hard to see though.

This one above in Rococo Rose is coloured with the Watercolor Pencils.  While the Stampin’ Blends are easy to use I do prefer to colour with the pencils.  I feel I have a little more control with the colours.  To highlight the “hi” I gave it a light wash with the Daffodil Delight pencil and washed it a little with the Aquapainter. I have used the gorgeous Scalloped Lace Trim on each card.

Do you like this set?  It’s a sweet one.

This New Wonders set is a Host set and only available as a Host of an event when the total orders are over $250 AUS OR if your own orders are over $250.  I have had a few of those already with people stocking up on all the gorgeous products in the catalogue.

BOTANICAL BUTTERFLY PAPER WITH BLENDS!

It’s a Botanical Butterflies Week this week.

I will share a number of projects with you using the gorgeous Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration.  There is only 2 weeks left for this gorgeous paper so let’s get it out and use it.  It follows my theme from posts some time ago to #usethatpaper

I used a piece of the small black and white butterfly print and coloured the butterflies with the Stampin’ Blends.  It is such an easy way to add colour. I used the Balmy Blue and the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I think looking at it now I should have added some bright green like the Granny Apple Green on parts of the “wisps”.  I also coloured one butterfly from the paper and cut it out to add on the sentiment.

The sentiment is from Butterfly Gala and cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.  I cut a 2nd rectangle in Daffodil Delight card and adhered it underneath the sentiment.  Perhaps I should have done some silver under there instead.  I did this card weeks ago and I can see so many things I would do differently.  But anyway, perhaps it will inspire you in some way and know that you can colour the paper with the Stampin’ Blends.

Have a closer look at this paper.  Keep in mind that there is only 2 weeks left to grab this as your free choice.  It could be sooner if it runs out so don’t delay on this.

Also, note:  There is a small supply of this Organdy Ribbon back in stock too as your Sale-A-Bration choice but that won’t stay around long either.

Watch out this week as I bring some more projects using this pretty paper.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW #56 – MASKING FROGS!

I have a fun card for you today for Wednesday’s WOW! #56.   I want to show you how to make this cute card with the So Hoppy Together set using the masking technique.

For the card I have used Lemon Lime Twist base with the Gingham Gala paper stack.  The frogs were stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured with the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

Do you want to know how I stamped the frogs?? I used the masking technique.  Let me show you how it is done.

MASKING TECHNIQUE WITH THE FROG

You can use this technique with any stamps.  The idea is to create a mask on a piece of sticky note paper.

1. First stamp your image on to a piece of sticky note being sure to stamp where the sticky part is underneath.  Fussy cut around this image.

2. Stamp your image again onto your white card towards the left hand side of your card in the position you would like it to be.  Place your “mask” piece that you had created in Step 1 directly on to that stamped image.

3.  Stamp your image again to the right next to your stamped and masked image where you would like it to be.  See the photo below if you are unsure.

4. Remove your mask and place it over the 2nd stamped image to mask this one.  Stamp your image again to the right of this.  See the photo below.

I hope this helps you.  What stamps could you use for this fun technique??

Don’t forget to grab your So Hoppy Together set Free with orders over $90 during Sale-A-Bration.  Or you could choose another option.  There is so many lovely products to choose from and who doesn’t like free. 🙂 🙂 🙂

If you are in Australia you can order -> HERE.  Don’t forget to use the Host Code this week.  Q6XB6QR6

AND, orders over $78 AUS will receive the Free Tutorial Bundle for this month to create 10 fun projects.

Thanks for visiting,

Jenny
