ABUNDANT BEAUTY – A HAPPY ACCIDENT!

This card came about by a Happy Accident.

When I was creating an earlier card I diecut a square from a piece of white card with the Stylish Shapes Dies. There was still some white on the scrap piece that I could do something with later. You save bits like that right??

When I made one of the Sunflower cards recently I grabbed it to stamp my sentiment on.

BUT I thought hang on a minute – that would make a great frame! So I sponged some more Sunflowers with the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, cut them out and added them to the frame. How good was it that I actually centred the words on it though too.

Here is the card.

Here it is side on to get a closer look.

The Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks has layers that you can build up your flower adding ink or texture paste or even heat embossing. It creates such a great effect.

The paper is from the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Go To Greetings stamp set.

Do you have “happy accidents”?

SUNFLOWERS WITH THE STAMPIN’ UP! ABUNDANT BEAUTY MASKS

Can you believe it? This was my first time at using masks of any time. And I do love how you create the layering Sunflowers from the Abundant Beauty Masks.

The colours I used was Daffodil Delight first on the flowers and then a little Pumpkin Pie in the middle of the flowers. I used Pecan Pie for the centre and then Pecan Pie for the detailed area in the centre. The leaves were with Garden Green.

I was inspired by Patty Bennett to emboss the card with an embossing folder after sponging. This one uses the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

The paper strip behind the stamped image is from the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Go To Greetings.

This is one of the cards we were making in class today.

I have had lots of play with these masks so I will show you more soon.

EVERLASTING BEAUTY – NEARLY BINNED!!

I’m sharing this card with you today but I can tell you it nearly didn’t happen. I coloured the flowers from the Everlasting Beauty stamp set – and I hated it! I tossed it aside and that was my crafting done for the day. Do you ever feel like that??

The next day I picked it up. I still didn’t love it but thought maybe I could do something with it. So I finished the card and actually it wasn’t so bad. So here it is.

The flowers were coloured with the Stampin’ Blends. And the flowers were stamped in Gorgeous Grape on White card to create a background. The Old Olive card strip was embossed with the Stripes and Splatters 3D Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from the Go-To Greetings Stamp Set.

So I thought I would share – if you feel discouraged with a card firstly, don’t be hard on yourself. If need be step away from it, put it aside. Later maybe come back with fresh eyes and see that it may not be too bad. And really aren’t we our worst critic.

Have a Happy day and Be Kind to yourself.

TWO-TONE FLORA AND COUNTRYSIDE CORNERS TOGETHER!

Combining the Two-Tone Flora Bundle with the Countryside Corners Bundle. They just work so well together.

With the flowers they were stamped in Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape and Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight.

For the Countryside Corners I stamped them in Pecan Pie once on Crumb Cake and again on Pecan Pie card. The Pecan Pie one was diecut with the Countryside Corners Dies to give a frame effect.

The sentiment was stamped on white card with the Pecan Pie ink and then diecut. The sentiment is from the Go-To Greetings stamp set.

The White card is embossed with the new Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder.

STAMPIN’ UP! RINGS OF LOVE PAPER!

The Rings of Love Paper available for Sale-A-Bration is quite a surprise really. I have been playing a lot with it!

Sharing two cards with you today as we are running out of time!

Firstly with some scraps of paper I had left I put this card together. and just added a sentiment and embossed the Mint Macaron card mat with the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is from the Go To Greetings stamp set.

Now to my second card.

With my class this week with the Adventurous Journey Stamp Set I have been having lots of fun creating with it. I thought this print from the Rings of Love paper looked like a watery background. I really liked the effect of it. And no mess with creating a watercolour piece!

The sentiment is from the Painted Poppies Stamp set stamped on a diecut circle from the Beautiful Shapes Dies.

This week Sale-A-Bration all comes to an end and you won’t be able to get this paper again. Don’t miss it … 😦

I have shared a few cards with it recently so head back a few posts if you missed it.

SPLENDID DAY SPLIT EASEL CARD!

I love making Easel Cards. I love this idea too. This is a Split Easel Card. It’s very easy.

I have used the Splendid Day Suite. It’s so pretty.

We made this card in a class recently. I don’t often share my class cards here, But I thought I would share this one with you.

This is the front view of the Split Easel.

The side view. You can see how it stands up.

Inside. You can see how the sides are split and adhered down. Decorate the card as you like.

When we made the card in class I made the section in the middle inside a little smaller. I thought it looked better than this original one and it gave more room to write.

I will share the HOW-TO soon so stay tuned for that.

Happy Stamping,

Jenny

STRIPS WITH THE SPLENDID DAY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER!

This card is a great way of showing both sides of the lovely Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper. It would work well with any paper. Do you find it hard to choose which side to use sometimes??

I have also used the Go To Greetings Stamp Set for the sentiment. They really are my “go-to” sentiment set at the moment. This is punched out with the Double Oval Punch. I added some diecut leaves from the Splendid Stems Dies.

Now for the measurements to make your own. You can show off both sides of paper or it’s a great way of using up scrap pieces.

STRIPS WITH DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

Card base 21cm x 14.8cm Scored at 10.5cm

                   8 ½” x 5 ½” Scored at 4 ¼”

Fresh Freesia card mat    9.9cm x 14.2cm    4” x 5 ¼”

White card    9.5cm x 13.8cm       3 ¾” x 4 7/8”

DSP pieces @2    4.4cm x 13.2cm   Cut at 5cm

                               1 5/8” x 4 ½”  Cut at 2”

Lay out the pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) on to the front of the white card.  With a short piece then a long piece next to it. Then below these, a long piece with short piece next to it.  It doesn’t matter which order though.

Flip the 2 small DSP pieces over to show the other side.  Adhere these to the white card.

Then assemble the card on to the card mat and on to the card base. Add your sentiment or embellishments as you like.

Hope you get to make one yourself.

WONDERFUL WORLD IN BLACKBERRY!

Back with another card using the gorgeous Wonderful World Designer Series Paper. I have used it with Blackberry Bliss which is a colour I don’t often use.

What more do you need when you can cut the pretty images straight from the paper.

The sentiment is from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set.

This is the Wonderful World Paper.

I used the top print of the paper to fussy cut the flowers out. It is really easy to cut so don’t be put off.

But You need to really see more of these prints in store ->HERE.

WONDERFUL WORLD PAPER AND STAMPS!

Another pretty card with the Wonderful World Stamps and Designer Series Paper.

For this card I stamped the flower in Pear Pizzazz first. Then stamped it again in Rich Razzleberry on scrap white card. Then the flower head was snipped with scissors. No dies for cutting this one! 🙂

The Stamp set for the sentiment is the Go To Greetings.

The Wonderful World Designer Series Paper and the Stamp Set are a free choice for Sale-A-Bration with orders over $180 AUD.

It is pretty. I will say when I first saw it I thought it was dark and heavy but there are some lovely prints in the pack with florals on one side and more patterns on the other side.

WONDERFUL WORLD IN COLOUR!

Today’s card is a simple one but I particularly wanted to show you how to get the different colour flower head on the Wonderful World flower stamps.

If you take a look at the flower a little closer, You can see the different colours.

To get this effect firstly ink the stamp in Pear Pizzazz. Then with a tissue remove the ink off the flower head. Using a Sponge or Dauber apply ink to the flower head. I used Starry Sky here.

You can give it a little “huff” before stamping if you like. That will reactivate the Pear Pizzazz ink.

For the sentiment I used the Go To Greetings Stamp Set with the Beautiful Shapes Dies. I also used the Basic Borders Dies on the paper to get a scallop-y edge.

I have played a bit with this lovely paper and stamp set over the past week so I will share more.

The Wonderful World Stamps and Paper are a free bonus you can choose with your orders over $180 AUD during Sale-A-Bration.
