Wednesday’s WOW! #154 – How to get a crisp stamping with Photopolymer stamps.

Sometimes when you stamp with Photopolymer stamps you don’t get the crisp stamping result that you would like. Do you find that?

I have particularly recently BUT I have a couple of tips for you to be sure to get a better stamping.

Firstly when stamping give your Photopolymer stamps a clean with the Stampin’ Mist and Scrub. This will remove some of the residue from production. You could use an eraser too.

Then when you stamp be sure to have something underneath your card. The Piercing Mat or even a catalogue. It will give you a little “bounce” and your stamped image should be much more crisper.

With a new catalogue comes some lovely new papers and ribbons. And they are gorgeous. I think often they are the best part of the catalogue.

BUT I know that you have a stash sitting at home already but you really, REALLY, would love some of the new stuff.

A SIMPLE TRANSLUCENT FLORALS CARD!

It’s the Translucent Florals again. I am liking them and I have had lots of fun playing with these.

This card is one that was made in the Creativity Now event for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators a few months ago. You might have seen this or similar versions around. I have only got to make this now.

We will be making this and 2 other great cards in our Translucent Florals class this week. Come along if you are in the local Wollongong area. Let me know by Thursday.

CLASS DETAILS:

The class is this Friday 15th at 10am and then also Saturday 23rd at 2pm. Cost is $25. (Saturday class let me know by Thursday 21st).

TWO VERSIONS OF CIRCLE CARDS + A VIDEO!

I like to make different fold cards. And it could just be a simple shape.

I have been creating circle cards this week so I thought I would put a video together to show you how. Also to give you some tips in creating them.

Here are the Circle Cards.

The Fresh Freesia version using the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper.

The Petal Pink version using the Translucent Florals.

Both are created differently. Be sure to watch to find out how to make them.

COLOUR INKSPIRATIONS CHALLENGE #150 WITH INKED AND TILED STAMP SET!

The Colour Inkspirations have their 150th Colour Challenge this week. I had to have a go. I first started these challenges way back near the beginning so wanted to join in with this milestone.

The Colour Challenge#150 this week was Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Sweet Sorbet, Old Olive and Pretty Peacock.

I have to say these colours were hard to use all together.

Here is the card I created. I have used the Inked and Tiled Stamp Set.

The paper is the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper stack. I have used 2 different patterns creating a block pattern.

The flowers were inked with Brushes and Daubers to add the different colours. The White Baker’s Twine was coloured with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends.

It is nothing fancy but I liked the effect.

I recently held my Winter Crafternoon event at a local Tea Room. It’s always such a lovely afternoon of crafting and Devonshire Tea. I thought I would share some photos with you especially if you missed it all on Facebook and Instagram.

Gift Bags I made for everyone.

I purchased the brown gift bags from a local discount shop and dressed them up with the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper shopfronts. The paper mat pieces under the shopfronts were using retired Designer Series Paper.

Here is a close-up of 2 of them.

Isn’t’ the sentiment just so sweet?? 🙂 This is from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set.

We have the Treat Bags. I added some retired Glimmer Paper and ribbon and of course a chocolate treat. It’s a must isn’t it. 😉 The topper of the bag was using the retired paper to match the Gift Bags.

And Yummy Devonshire Tea. This was held at Sugar, Butter, Eggs Tea Room if you are in the Woonona area. You really must go.

I think this will be a regular event on the calendar each year. It is such a special time.
