HELLO 2019 INCOLORS!

I shared a card last post with the new Incolors. Today I wanted to look a little closer at them.

I put together a comparisons chart to show you how the 2019-2021 InColors compare with other current colours. I like to do this each year and everyone who comes along to my studio like to look at it closely. It gives you a good idea.

On the chart below the new Incolors are marked with an asterix (*).

Rococo Rose – It’s like a dusky pink. It’s very popular at the moment in fashion and even decor. Have you seen this colour around? It’s not as bright as Flirty Flamingo but darker then Blushing Bride.

Purple Posy – I will be honest, sometimes I am not sure of this colour. At times it can appear a bit washed out while other times it gives a subtle purple shade. It is certainly much lighter than the popular Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.

Pretty Peacock – Another popular shade in fashion at the moment. I was out shopping today and saw so many clothes in this colour. I did tell my daughter it was Pretty Peacock. She just rolled her eyes. I don’t understand. 😉 I didn’t compare this to the Shaded Spruce or Garden Green here but when I looked at them earlier I find this is not as bright a green which is nice.

Terracotta Tile – When I pulled all the colours out I was amazed how close in colour it is to Calpso Coral. I do use this colour a lot so maybe this will be a good alternative sometimes. I will see about it. It has a more pinkier tones perhaps?? And too it is another popular colour in the clothing range.

Seaside Spray – I quite like this shade of blue. I have to say it was very popular at my Catalogue Kick off events over the weekend. It is not as bright a blue as the Balmy Blue. I think it is a nice blue for sea and sky stamping.

So I am not sure of what colour is my favourite as yet. I am warming more to them each time I use them so stayed tuned for further projects and how I use them.

MELON MAMBO ROSY!

I have some more Everything is Rosy cards for you today. I have been smashing them out lately. They are all such gorgeous products and it really doesn’t take much to put a card together. Such pretty papers … 🙂

These diecut labels make it very easy – and fancy. Simply stamp on the sentiment and you are good to go. Perhaps the longest part is diecutting the detailed border trim but a couple of runs through your machine and the card pops out of the die really easily.

It is hard to catch the shine in the paper with the embossed Rose Gold details. Just gorgeous though.

THE EVERYTHING IS ROSY MEDLEY WITH ROSE GOLD STREAKS!

I have just received the Everything is Rosy suite of products. Let me tell you it is more gorgeous in real life. I shared the video unveiling it on my Facebook page the other day but maybe you would like to see it here.

This was my first play with it. I have to say it is so easy to put cards together with all these products. Stamp a few images or you can use the diecut images in the set and cut some of that gorgeous paper. Yes cut it – don’t just stroke it and then store it away. 😉

For this card below I stamped the leaves and a flower and diecut them out with the lovely dies. I added one of the Rose Gold embellishments for the centre of the flower. They are sticky back so you just peel it off the sheet and stick it on. It has a clear coating on the top so you need to peel that off too. The Thank You was stamped in the diecut banners that is included in the set.

Just to remind you what you get in this bundle of products. There is a lot! Another demonstrator added it up and there was over $180 in value. There is nothing like this paper. Have I said that already?? 🙂

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #67 – USE THE LINE!

Wednesday’s come around quickly. I have another Wednesday’s WOW! for you. It was a recent revelation to me. (OK, I am slow!). This little tip might be a revelation to you too. Although you are probably more cleverer than me. 😉

Wednesday’s WOW! #67 – Use the line on your Embossing Folder to keep your card straight.

Let me show you.

That black line on the Embossing Folder is not just a detail on the folder to go with the Logo. 🙂 It serves a purpose. Use that line as a guide to see that your card is straight in the Embossing Folder. The card might be longer than the line but you can still use that to see that the edge of the card is parallel with it. These lines are on the more recent folders.

TIP: If you have some older folders that don’t have the line. Draw one in with a ruler and black permanent marker.

On another note – when using folders you don’t want to position your card right up in to the top of the folder on the fold line. You will get an edge on your card when you emboss it as the pattern doesn’t quite go right up to the top.
