WEDNESDAY’S WOW! 169 – FRESH NEW COLOURS FOR THOSE MALE CARDS YOU MAKE?

Wednesday’s WOW! #169. Some Fresh New Colours for creating Masculine Cards.

Do you find Masculine cards hard to make? I know I do. I resort to the blues, browns, yellows, reds.

Well, I have some fresh new colours to try.

What do you think? What colours will you try out next??

This is good timing with Father’s Day coming up soon here in Australia. But these are great for Birthdays and any other occasion for the boys. Big and Little Ones.

So maybe Pin this Image above or Save it so you can turn to it when you have some cards to make.

JUST A CIRCLE WITH THE STAMPIN’ UP! EMBOSSING FOLDER ~

The details in the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder is amazing! I have had a lot of fun with this folder lately. And I can’t wait to show you more with what I have created with it. But today I am sharing this one with you.

When you don’t feel like colouring the whole embossed piece you can diecut a circle or other shape and colour that small area. And don’t forget to colour with the blue around the flowers. It helps them POP more.

I embossed a piece of white card with the Sunflower Embossing Folder then I diecut a circle in another piece of white card. Then embossed the card. It is better to diecut the shape first. If you do that after you have embossed the card it can flatten the detail.

I used the Daubers and inks to colour this one. And used the Balmy Blue Light Stampin’ Blend for the surrounds.

I heat embossed the sentiment on black card. This helps it POP more too. The sentiment is from the Simply Said Stamp Set.

Have you tried the Sunflower Embossing Folder? It is a large one but there are lots of different Sunflower shapes over it and you can pick the area you like depending on your project.

The Embossing Folder measures 6″ x 8-1/2″ (15.2 x 21.6 cm). I said it was a large one!

You can see it more -> HERE.

Hope you get to create with it. I will bring you more with it soon.

We will be creating with this folder in class this week. If you are a Wollongong local I would love you to join in my classes. They are lots of fun and I can share lots of tips and and techniques that are sometimes a little tricky to share through a blog post.

PUZZLE SLIDER FUN FOLD CARD + VIDEO!

Have you seen the Puzzle Slider Fun Fold Cards? I saw them recently and just had to create one myself. The one I saw was created by Sue Stampfield.

I couldn’t find one in Metric measurements so I worked in inches. I adjusted those measurements and then worked out the Metric for my lovely crafters who prefer centimetres.

I put together a video for you. I used the Florals in Blooms Paper but you can use whatever you have. It’s a cool card. Even if you don’t like to do puzzles I think you will like to create one of these.

Here is the Video for you. The card is shown further below.

This is the card I had created earlier.

Don’t forget the inside.

Follow along with the video.

The Written Tutorial will be sent out for my Newsletter Subscribers next week. Are you a subscriber? I send out a project Tutorial each week. You can head to the Side Bar on my blog and click on the tab.

SIMPLE STAMPING WITH THE STAMPIN’ UP! CHARMING DAY STAMP SET ~

Another play with the Stampin’ Up! Charming Day set. This time I went simple. No colouring just stamp and add it to a card.

To dress it up a little I added some texture by Embossing the Peach Pie card mat with the Damask Designs Embossing Folder. And adding some of the gorgeous Floral Charm Designer Series Paper.

Don’t feel you have to colour every image you have. Sometimes just some simple stamping is good.

This is the Charming Day Bundle.

And more of that beautiful Floral Charm Paper.

A WATERCOLOUR WASH WITH THE STAMPIN’ UP! RUSTIC CENTERPIECE STAMP SET ~

Another one with the Stampin’ Up! Rustive Centerpiece Stamp Set. I have been playing with this over the last few days. Lots of creative fun with it.

This time I created a Watercolour Wash over some Watercolour Card.

To create it I washed over some Watercolour Card with the Soft Sea Foam. I added a few drops of the Reinker in to the lid of the Ink Pad and added some water to it and swirled it around to mix it. With the Water Painter I washed over the card. Then I left it to dry before stamping on it.

When I came back to it the piece nearly went in to the bin. When it was drying I didn’t like the colours that were coming out. I picked it up to throw it and thought maybe I will just try stamping on it and see how it turns out. (To see if it works ok 😄). It was my little experiment. I actually thought it turned out passable in the end.

The succulents are stamped in Garden Green. I think the Black sentiment helps it all to POP. That was heat embossed in White on the Black card. The sentiment is from the Simply Said Stamp Set. The paper is from the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper.

So the card lived to fight another day. Just a word of encouragement. If you don’t like how something is turning out, persevere with it. Put it aside, walk away, come back and work on it. You never know. It might just become a hero.

This is the Rustic Centerpiece Stamp Set if you missed it. It was released yesterday as an Online Exclusives.

You can find the stamp set -> HERE along with other Online Exclusives.

SOMETHING NEW WITH THE RUSTIC CENTERPIECE SET ~

I have been playing with something new – and for me different. The Rustic Centerpiece set. (Being in Australia I have to correct myself when spelling that as this is the US spelling!).

This is the first card I made with it.

I coloured the succulents with Watercolor Pencils. The Paper strip is from the Florals in Bloom Paper. It’s hard to see but I embossed the Garden Green card with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.

It’s very cloudy and rainy today so not the best lighting for a photo. I will try a better one another day but just wanted to show you this.

The Rustic Centerpiece set is a cute stamp set featuring woodsy florals and wood slice images. Each one is adorned with a different display. These succulents, a Sunflower and leafy arrangement and a Christmas setting of the deer and tree.

You can see the stamp set here.

I have made some more cards with this so I will share them all with you soon.

There are lots of other new products released today as Online Exclusives. You can see them all -> HERE.

If you need to grab any of these or any other products and you are in Australia I would love to help you. Head to my store at the link just above OR Contact me directly and I can help you out.

Thanks so much.

FOLD FLAT CARD FOR THIS WEEK’S VIDEO ~

It’s a Fold Flat Card for this week’s video. It’s an easy one to create. I have used the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Butterflies but you can decorate it as you like.

This is the card.

It can fold flat to post out. It will be a little bulky so check your postage.

You could even add a little chocolate or simlar in to the box part at the front when you give it directly to someone.

Don’t forget the inside.

You can watch along with the video below. If this doesn’t show in the post head to my Youtube channel.

See how you can decorate it if you don’t have the Beautiful Butterflies.

If you do like the videos did you catch the video of the 5 Ways with the Beautiful Butterflies I shared. You can see that on my Youtube Channel -> HERE.
