END OF SALE-A-BRATION COUNTDOWN – 4

I was playing around with the Sale-A-Bration set ‘Feeling Sentimental’ a few weeks ago and created this card.  Some distressing and inking I think it makes a great “MAN” card.  They are always hard to do, aren’t they???  I have used the Chevron Embossing Folder.  The brads in the centre of the wheel and on each end of the Natural Trim Ribbon are gold brads and I sanded them back slightly to rough them up!!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I have another card using this set to show you tomorrow, Day 3 of our Countdown, so stay tuned.

END OF SALE-A-BRATION COUNTDOWN – DAY5!

I can’t believe there is only 5 days left for Sale-A-Bration.  Where has the last 2 months gone??? I can’t believe it.  There is still so many cards I want to make with these stamps.  Some I haven’t event inked yet!  I am running out of time.  To mark the end of Sale-A-Bration though I thought I would show you a card to countdown to the end.

Here is Day 5 Card.  The other week I played around with the new Soda Pop Tops.  I think this card  is inspired by a card I saw on SplitcoastStampers.

P1070713

I have used the Vine Embossing Folder but de-bossed it.  I think it gives it a different look.  The DSP flower is from ‘Patio Party’ and punched with the Blossom Punch. The centre flower is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and the small centre flower is in Midnight Muse.   They are from one of the Free Sale-A-Bration sets, ‘Madison Ave’.  See the centre of the flower though??? I have used the Soda Pop Tops.  This one was flattened in the Big Shot.  I will explain this just below.  The greeting is from ‘Fabulous Phrases’ and stamped on Whisper White and I have flagged the ends.  Some Raspberry Ripple Satin Stitched ribbon finishes off the card.

Flattening the Soda Pop Tops in the Big Shot is easy – and fun!!!  You might have seen how to do this elsewhere in Blogland but I will tell you what I did.  Here is the recipe I used for the Big Shot.

Platform – No Tabs.

Cutting Plate.

Scrap Card

Soda Pop Top (faced Down)

Cutting Plate.

Run all this through your Big Shot.  It is quite easy to turn.  I have used scrap card because it saves the soda pop top sticking in to the cutting plate.  Many blogs I have read haven’t done this step but I think it saves digging it out of the plate.  Then again maybe it is OK.

There is still a little time to get your orders in for Sale-A-Bration. For every $100 order you get to choose one of the great products FREE!  There is so many fantastic choices so don’t miss out.  Also, if you love the Stampin’ Up! products so much why not get a discount all the time.  Join the Stampin’ Up! family and during Sale-A-Bration get 25% more in your kit.  Pay $169, get $294 of Products.  How good is that!  BUT you only have until Friday.  So, hurry up!!!

Stop by tomorrow when I will show you another Sale-A-Bration project.

CASEING SHELLI’S VINTAGE VERSES

I can’t believe how fast Sale-A-Bration has flown by.  Only 10 days left.  How can that be!!! There is still so many wonderful products I haven’t played with yet!!  This is one card I created the other day.  Yes, I have CASED Shelli! I first found this card on the U.S. Stampin’ Up! Website.   You can find the card here on Shelli’s Blog.  Here is my version.

P1070877

I don’t think mine is as good as Shelli’s.  I used Crumb Cake instead of Sahara Sand and I think the DSP pennant at the bottom is not right.  I love the way there is that little strip of embossing using the Vine Embossing Folder along the bottom of the White tag though.  There is lots of Sale-A-Bration goodies on this card: Vintage Verses and Madison Avenue Stamp Sets. The Sycamore Street DSP, Vine Embossing Folder, Pool Party ribbon and button. All on one card.  I couldn’t have come up with so many of these on the one card, so Thanks Shelli!!!

Just before I go, have you checked out the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue yet?? There is a link in the Right Hand side bar so head over there now to check it out if you haven’t already.  There are Free Stampin’ Up! products for you as a Customer, a Hostess and/or as a new member to our Stampin’ Up! Family.  You can’t miss it out.  So hurry up time is running out!! If you want more details then head over here to an earlier post I did and that will fill you in on all the details.  There might not be a lot of time left for an In-Home workshop but did you know you can have a Catalogue Party. Pass the Catalogue around to your friends and collect their orders.  If they total $300 or more you still receive all the wonderful Free products that you would have for a $300 party.  How cool is that!!! So come on, pass the Catalogue around to your friends and get back to me- very soon though!!

Thanks for stopping by.  It is nice to have you visit.  I look forward to you visiting again soon.

PAPILLION POTPOURRI CHALKBOARD

You have probably seen the Chalkboard Technique around Blogland by now haven’t you???  I have been wanting to have a go at this technique but hadn’t got around to it until a couple of weeks ago at our Team Meeting.  The wonderful Vanessa Webb showed us this technique.  I created the Chalkboard but didn’t assemble the card until a couple of days later.  This Chalkboard Technique went a few steps further than most of the ones you might have seen around.  I will share the details later but first here is the card.  Just note this is my first attempt so it is a little scratchy.  Ooh! Saying scratchy about chalkboard sends shivers down your spine!!!!!

P1070827

CHALKBOARD TECHNIQUE

1. Firstly rub your Black Cardstock with the Embossing Buddy. Stamp your greeting in Whisper White Ink onto the Black cardstock.

2. Pour over White Embossing Powder and heat emboss.

3. Stamp the greeting again in Whisper White and stamp just offset to the right of the greeting you have stamped already.  Use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to help you line it up right.  You don’t need to heat emboss this time.

4. Stamp images you wish to use in Whisper White and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.  You don’t need to re-stamp these ones.

5.  Using coloured Pencils go over the images particularly where you had restamped on the greeting.  This creates a block type print.  (If you know what I mean!!). I added a bit of colour to the butterflies as well.

6.  Using a tissue pick up some Whisper White ink and dab off on scrap paper then rub over in patches on the black card to create rub marks.

7.  Optional step:  I draw a line edge around the card in pencil and you probably can’t see it well but I outlined all my images with white pencil.  It kind of creates a shadow.

8.  Assemble your finished piece onto a contrasting colour card mat and card base.

This is a fun technique.  If you didn’t want to do all the colouring.  Just stamp in Whisper White and Emboss in White Embossing powder.  Then rub the white ink over the card as I described in Step 6.  I will have to try the simpler version now.  Just add that to the list of projects to tick off!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like this version of Chalkboard.  Leave me a comment.  It is nice to know you have been to visit.

Have a good day,

Jenny

“PRETTY PETITES”

It has been a little while since I have been here to share my projects with you. Sometimes life just gets busy!!! I am so far behind in my blogging so today I have for you not ONE but THREE cards to show you.   I won’t go in to too much detail about the cards.  I think they are fairly straight forward.  So, on with the show!!!

P1070675

The layout for this card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.  I love Lucky Limeade teamed with Island Indigo.  I will so miss these colours.  They will be gone in just a few months.  SIGH!!!!  Make sure you stock up now on these colours.

P1070677

This one uses Patio Party DSP.  I am still not sure about this one.  I whipped this one up quickly but feel there is something wrong with it.  I think I should have put the strip down towards the bottom. Maybe the paper is too busy for that little greeting?  What do you think??

P1070716

I think this one is cute.  It really shows off a lot of stamps in the set.  I CASED this from Becky Roberts here.  I have used Summer Smooches DSP and there is that Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade again – along with Tangerine Tango.

Thanks for stopping by.  I can’t believe there is only 1 month of Sale-A-Bration left.  I hope you have got your Sale-A-Bration products already.  Otherwise,  stop deliberating and get to it!  They will be gone before you know it!!!!  For every $100 order you can select one of the fantastic exclusive products.  Have a look at the catalogue.  The link is in the right hand side bar.

Stop by again soon so I can show you some more yumminess from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue AND the seasonal catalogue.  We can’t forget that one too!

BLUE BABY PRINTS!

Last weekend at a workshop I did (was it really nearly a week ago!!) the hostess wanted scrapbooking.  Well, if you have been following my blog I don’t do a lot of scrapbooking.  I really need to – and I would like to do more but ……………. !  Anyway, I rose to the challenge and after several attempts I created this page.

P1070686

I have used the ‘Baby Prints’ Set.  It was nice to ink that up finally.  What a cute set for Baby scrapbooking pages.  This is an 8 1/2″ x11″ page.  The colour of the card is Baja Breeze.  It looks a little green in the photo.  See the little embellishment on the BABY square.  I will give you a close-up.

P1070687

I have used the Sale-A-Bration set ‘Pretty Petites’.  (This is one of the free choices you can get for $100).  This is stamped in Pacific Point and punched out with the Petite Curly Label Punch (another free Salel-A-Bration choice).  I added a Clear Faceted Button and Whisper White Twine bow. For the word “Baby” I inked up part of the text with the Pacific Point marker.

I wanted to show them how you can step-up this page to create a 12″x12″ page.  This is the finished page.

P1070732

I added a scallop edge at the top and bottom of the 8 1/2″x11″ page.  The DSP strip is from ‘Floral District’.  Check out this little tag.

P1070734

This was created with the ‘Pretty Petites’ stamp set too.  The ‘B’ is from the ‘Calendar Alphabet and Numbers’ set (retired).  I punched out a silver glimmer paper heart using the owl punch.

Now just to find a photo that fits.  I went through all Josh’s baby photos and couldn’t find one suitable.  I will have to do a bit of editing on one I think!

I hope you like this cute page.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.  Stay safe.  We have very heavy storms heading our way this weekend.

“CHOCOLATE HEART OF HEARTS”

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!!  I hope you have had a lovely day.  We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day in a big way here in Australia.  Maybe a gift or some chocolate for a loved one??? I had made up a little bag of chocolate treats for my family.  I have to say I was totally surprised to get a bunch of flowers from my husband this morning!!! 🙂

Today I had a workshop and I thought it would be nice to give the guests a little Valentine treat.  It was a last minute decision so it was nothing fancy.

P1070705

The Whisper White heart is cut with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits.  I hadn’t realised until I was making these that they have tiny little hearts embossed on the heart. Maybe I have just been a bit blind!  I found these little chocolate hearts at the discount store which was perfect for them.  The ‘For You’ is from Itty Bitty Banners and I cut a red banner from the ‘Bitty Banners’ Framelits also.  I stuck these behind the chocolate heart and I had just enough of the retired red Grosgrain ribbon to add a loop on them.   I think the guests liked their little chocolate surprise today.

Off to bed for me now.  See you next time,

Jenny

MARINA MIST SECRET GARDEN!

While I am on a roll with ‘Secret Garden’ cards I thought I would show you another one.  This card was inspired by this card here.

Here is my version.

P1070673

The flowers are stamped in Midnight Muse onto Marina Mist card and cut with the matching Framelits.  The large flower was stamped a second time and the middle section was cut out and layered onto the large flower.  Yes, cut with scissors! The greeting is from “Petite Pairs” and stamped in Midnight Muse on to Whisper White. Then this was layered onto Midnight Muse card.  For the base I ran a piece of Marina Mist card through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and layered it on to the Marina Mist Card base.

I have been playing with some other stamps from the new Seasonal Catalogue AND Sale-A-Bration.  So much to play with at the moment!  I love to have you vist.  I hope you can visit again soon.

SECRET GARDEN 60TH!!

I have another card to show you using the ‘Secret Garden’ Stamp Set.  This is similar to the card I showed in the last post but I did actually make this one first.  This is for my lovely friend Leonie N for her birthday.  I won’t tell you how old she turned!!! 😉

P1070669

CARD: Whisper White, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery.

STAMP: Secret Garden.

INK: Black StazOn.

OTHER: Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Ovals Framelits, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet (retired), Marina Mist Satin Ribbon (retired), Adhesive Pearls.

I was really pleased with how this turned out.  I love this Embossing Folder.  You really don’t need much more to a card.  It just adds such lovely texture.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I look forward to you visiting again soon.  🙂

“SECRET GARDEN HONEYCOMB”

Firstly, let me say a HUGE Thank You for your wonderful comments on my projects that I shared in the last post for the Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop.  Thank You.  They were so encouraging.  I really appreciate your comments.  It’s nice to know I am reaching out somewhere in Blogosphere and inspiring you.  I try to 🙂  If you missed the Blog Hop then head back to my last post and take the little hop around.  There are 25 blogs from Demonstrators in Australia and New Zealand who are showcasing some projects using the Sale-A-Bration products.  You can choose any one of these for FREE for every $100 you order.   Have you checked the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue out yet?  There is a link in the Right Hand Column for you to see it Online.

Meanwhile we now have the new Seasonal Catalogue.  It has some very exciting products in there.  So much goodness to create with!!!!!!!!!!!  You can check it out through the link in the Right Hand Column too.  If you would like your own copy to drool over and mark with Post-It notes and take to bed to read with you  (Isn’t that what everybody does???), then drop me a comment or email and I will get back to you to get your address to send one to you.  Nothing like the real thing!!!

Today I wanted to show you a card using some new goodies from that catalogue.  Of course, I still have some Sale-A-Bration creations to share but today it is the Seasonal Catalogue’s turn!

P1070667

So, what’s new here??? I have used the new set Secret Garden stamp set.  Isn’t it nice we have matching Framelits that can cut the flowers out!! No more fussy cutting here!  I have stamped them in Black StazOn on coloured card using some of the new Incolors: Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals.  I stamped the “Beautiful Birthday” greeting and cut it out with the new Oval Framelites. This was all layered onto a piece of Whisper White embossed with the new and very versatile ‘Honeycomb’ Embossing Folder.  This is all finished off with some Raspberry Ripple Satin Stitched ribbon and some Adhesive Pearls.  Simple!!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please feel free to leave a comment.  It is nice to know I am not talking to myself here.  🙂

Till next time,  Happy Stamping.
