So, let’s begin!

You may have just come from Angie’s blog or you might be starting here.  Either way, enjoy your travels – and I hope you are inspired.  Don’t forget to leave a comment at the end to say you have visited.

Today I want to show you one of the new stamp sets ‘Wishing You’.  This is on Page 23 of the Holiday Catalogue.

When you are looking for inspiration to create your projects you can spend hours trawling the internet (pinterest perhaps???!!!!!!).  Don’t forget the Catalogues for ideas.  They have some fantastic simple projects for you to Copy.  For this one I have CASED from page 9 of the Holiday Catalogue.  I have used the ‘Season of Style’ Designer Series Paper (page 23) and the lovely Cherry Cobbler Stitched Edged Grosgrain Ribbon (page 22).  The little parcels I coloured with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive markers.  Being a clear- mount set I could easily see where to place them.  Maybe I should have got the Stamp-A-ma-jig out BUT I was lazy!!

P1090820

This next card was inspired by a card on Splitcoaststampers.  (Another great source of inspiraton!).

P1090826

For this one I have used the ‘Season of Style’ Designer Series Paper again.  I have stamped the gifts and the greeting on Whisper White card and layered this on Silver Glimmer Paper for some sparkle.  You have to have that, don’t you!  I added a bow again using the Cherry Cobbler Grosgrain ribbon.  This one is very quick to make.  As long as it doesn’t take several attempts at making a half-decent bow. How do I know that?  I think it took me as long to make the bow as it did to make the card.

Now the great thing with this set is it is very versatile.  I like to show how you can use your Christmas sets for other occasions.  You can pull this set out for Birthdays throughout the year.

P1090818

This card was inspired by a card on Page 3 of the Annual Catalogue.  For this I have used the ‘I Am Me’ Designer Series Paper.  The gifts were coloured with Pear Pizzazz and Tangerine Tango Markers.  The piece was layered under a Tangerine Tango frame cut with the Squares Collection Framelits.  The greeting is from ‘Remembering your Birthday’.  The card was finished off with a clip from the Essentials Hardware (page 170).

Now you can head off to the next blog on your journey.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you will visit me again soon.  Now you can see what fabulous creations Jenny Humphreys has made for you.

See you next time,

Jenny

KISSED BUTTERFLIES

Have you kissed lately??? Your stamps – what else would I be talking about!!!  Here is a recent ‘Kissed’ card I made using the’ Butterfly Collection’ wheel.

P1090660

I have used Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.  The other stamp sets I have used are ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ and ‘Oh Goodie’ which is a sneak peak at a stamp set in the upcoming Holiday Catalogue.

This card was inspired by a project in last month’s Demonstrator magazine.  I really liked the effect so I thought I would give it a go, and I thought I would share with you how to do it too.  So, let’s get kissing!!!

KISSING YOUR EMBOSSING FOLDERS

1. Firstly, take an Embossing Folder with a small print on it.  I have used the Square Lattice folder.  Run a piece of scrap Whisper White card through it.

P1090656

2.  Ink up your wheel and run your wheel over the card.  Alternatively, ink a solid image stamp and stamp on the embossed card.  This is taking off some of the ink on your wheel or stamp.  OK now you are thinking,  Why can’t you wheel or stamp directly on to the Embossing Folder.  You can but it doesn’t give you such a defined impression.  Try it and see.  (I did!!).  It really pays to do the extra step.

P1090657

3. Run your wheel over a second piece of Whisper White card that you are using for your finished card.  You will see the embossed print on your stamped image.

P1090658

4. For the finished card above, I inked up the wheel in Pumpkin Pie and repeated the steps.  That is I ran it over the scrap Whisper White.  You can use the same piece you already used it doesn’t matter as you are just wanting to take off some of the ink.  Then wheeled it over another strip of Whisper White card.  I cut the middle row of butterflies out and adhered them over the Melon Mambo piece I had previously inked.  (As in Step 3).

P1090660-1

For the card I finished it off with some black Taffeta ribbon.

I hope you like this technique.  Now go and get kissing your stamps – and Embossing Folders.

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

“BLUE RIBBON CONGRATS”

One of my Nephew’s recently graduated from University so I wanted to make a card congratulating him.  I didn’t think I had a ‘Grad’ stamp but then I remembered the Blue Ribbon stamp set.

P1090561

It is a hard to tell by the photo but I clear embossed the ‘Congrats Grad’ after I stamped it in Black. So it has a nice shine to it.  This was punched out with the 1 3/8″ circle.  The Scallop was stamped in Pacific Point and punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle. The tail outlines were stamped in Pacific Point and then I stamped the words over it with Black.  The Whisper White card was embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder. This was layered on a Basic Black mat and then a Pacific Point card base.   I have added some Black Taffeta ribbon.  It doesn’t hurt to add a little bling on a boy’s card either does it???

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you can visit me again soon.

FLOWER SHOP AND PANSY PUNCH!!

I loved the new set ‘Flower Shop’ in the catalogue.  Do I really need another flower stampset??? OH YES!!!! I love the flowers in this set AND to have a matching punch.  Awesome! No fussy cutting these pretty babies!  I have been playing around with this set recently.  Here is one of the cards with the gorgeous In Colors.

P1090530

The sentiment is from ‘A Dozen Thoughts’ which I have been playing with.  I punched the sentiment out with the Curly Label Punch.   Don’t you love the ribbon?  This is the Ruffle Stretch Trim in Crisp Cantaloupe.

I will tell you though punching the flowers out can be a little frustrating as they are not symmetrical. It takes a little fiddling to line it up each time.  I found a couple of videos on my blog travels to help line up the stamps in the punch.  The one I saw was by Connie here.  You can stop by there and check it out but  I have done out a written tutorial for you if that helps.

USING THE FLOWER SHOP AND PANSY PUNCH TOGETHER

1) Make a mark at the bottom edge of your flower punch.  Punch a flower from scrap card.  When you take it out of the punch, don’t turn the punch-out around.  Lay it down and make a mark at the bottom of the punch.  You know that point will always be to the bottom.

P1090540

2) Stamp a flower on White card.  Line the punched flower over the stamped flower until you get it to match up.  There are particular markings on the punch and flower that enable you to see where it fits best. You have an extra divet in the flower so look out for that. (By doing these steps it enables you to see where to line it up each time so you don’t have to try turning it and twisting it in all directions each time! Believe me I know!!).  Once you have the place then mark that on the stamped image.

P1090550

Here I have just pulled the punched out flower up so you can see what I mean.

3) Place the stamped image over the stamp to line it up with that.  (You could probably just place the punch-out over the stamp but it can be a bit easier having the stamped image to go by).

P1090509

Once you have it lined up, place a mark on the stamp with a permanent marker like I have shown.  You know this goes on the bottom of the punch each time.

From the top of the block.

P1090494

From the side of the block: You can do this whether it is wood-mount or clear-mount.

P1090511

4)  Now when you stamp the flower, stamp it with the mark on the rubber stamp closest to you ie at the bottom.  Pick up the stamped image and punch out straight away without turning it.

5)  You will need to mark each of the stamps in the same way.  This does take a little time initially but believe me, it saves a lot of time and frustration each time you stamp!!!!

ANOTHER TIP: I have marked the rubber insert in my clear case with marks so that when I put the stamps away I don’t have to turn and twist them each time to get them to fit the right way.

P1090492

I hope this is helpful to you.

Just a note on the card above too.  This is a little sneak of one of the cards you can make in my card kits being released later this week.  Stay tuned for more details.  🙂

Have a good day,

Jenny

FOR A BIRTHDAY BOY!!!

I wanted to show you a special card today for my gorgeous big boy.  I have probably bored you enough about his Football pursuits BUT well it is his 17th birthday today so I have to show you the card I made for him.  I have had a number of people share this idea with me over the last few months.  Thanks so much my friends.  So I only just remembered to use this idea for his card.  This idea originally came from the blogosphere somewhere (sorry I can’t remember where) but recently it was on Pinterest.

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

I used Cherry Cobbler which is close to his club colours since I don’t have Bravo Burgundy anymore.  The ‘Fence’ was created by brayering the inside of the Stripes Embossing Folder with Soft Suede and running Whisper White Card through it.  The card was too wide to fit so I cut it in half before embossing it and then joined it together on my Old Olive Card base.  (See you don’t even notice do you???).  I added a strip of Soft Suede card along the top of the fence.

Punches I used for the Football Dude:

1 3/8″ circle, 1 1/4″ circle, 1″ circle, 3/4″ circle, Word Window and 2-step Owl Punch.  I did a little cutting of some of the circles to adapt them to what I wanted.  The Helmet cage took the most work.  It is not quite right but it is OK, although Glenn and Josh thought it was a cool beard!!!!!?????  The stamp sets I have used are ‘Great Sport’ for the football and ‘Itty Bitty Banners’ for the greeting.

I hope you like my cool dude anyway.

HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY JOSH!!  xx

Here are my gorgeous two this morning.  Love you both xx

WILDFLOWER MEADOW IN PISTACHIO PUDDING!!!!

That sounds an interesting title!! It conjures up strange kind of images but I am sure if you are up to date with Stampin’ Up! and the fantastic new Catalogue that has just been released you will know what I am talking about.  I hope!!!  Yes, the Catalogue is now live.  I have been playing around with some new goodies now for a couple of weeks.  That’s just one of the bonuses of being a Demonstrator.  One of the products I am loving is the new set ‘Wildflower Meadow’.  I love that you have a co-ordinating Embossing Folder with the stamp.  You can stamp up the image and then emboss around it creating a beautiful outlined edge.  I shared this card on my Facebook Demonstrator page a couple of weeks ago and realised I hadn’t shared it with you yet.  Sorry about that.  A bit slow here!  Of course I have used one of the new In Colors, Pistachio Pudding.  I love the new subtle colour range of the In Colors this year.  Not that I didn’t like the past In Colors.  I am so glad they have made it in to the core colours now.  Anyway, enough of this.  On with the card.

P1090261-1

I have stamped and embossed the image on Pistachio Pudding, then layered this on to Whisper White and then on to a Pistachio Pudding base card.  I added some Organza ribbon and adhesive Pearls.  Check out the greeting label.  The greeting is from ‘Pennant Parade’ and I have punched it out with the Mosaic Punch.  I am sure you will be seeing a bit more of this too.

I have put the link to the new Catalogue in the Right Hand column so be sure to go and check it out online.  If you would like me to send you your very own catalogue, then drop me a message and I will get one to you.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come and visit me again soon with some more creations from the new Catalogue.

CATALOGUE SHOWCASE WITH WILDFLOWER MEADOW!

Today I held my Catalogue Showcase and I just had to stop by and show you what we made.  It was a fun time and I was so grateful that so many came out despite the constant rain we have had for a week now!!

There are so many gorgeous new products but I had to use the set ‘Wildflower Meadow’.  It is a beautiful stamp and to have a matching Embossing Folder is fantastic!  Of course we used the new In Colors too.   Here is the card.  It is very simple but having the embossing just adds that little texture to it with very little effort.  It is a bit hard to tell in the photo though.  I have used Crisp Cantaloupe here but everyone could choose the colour they liked to.  The greeting is from ‘Sketched Birthday’ and stamped in Baked Brown Sugar.  Don’t you just love the names!!  I have cut it out with the Itty Bitty Banners die and layered on a Baked Brown Sugar piece underneath.  A little linen thread bow finished it off.

P1090316

For everyone that came I covered little notebooks.  They can use them for their wishlists perhaps???  Or anything really!

P1090319

I had 2 different designs.  They were all covered with card that had been run through with the Mosaic Embossing Folder.  One design had a strip of DSP.  I then punched a 1 1/4″ scallop circle and layered a butterfly with the Elegant Butterfly punched with matching DSP and then a Bitty Butterfly punched with coordinating card.  Some Rhinestones finished them off.  The other one I simply cut a dress from the Dress Up die in DSP and then dressed it up with a punched flower and pearls.  I think everyone liked them.

I have made some other cards using the ‘Wildflower Meadow’ stamp that I will show you soon.

I hope you are dry where you are?  I am looking forward to some sunshine to dry everything out.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny

A SPECIAL DOILY DRESS!

I can finally show you this card now.  I made it a couple of months ago for my Niece’s 19th Birthday. I think it is safe to show you now.  🙂

Megans Dress card

The dress is made from 2 Tea Lace Paper Doilies.  I found the idea for the folding on Becky’s blog.  I thought I could show you the folding but why not stop by Becky’s blog here and you can check it out!  I tied around some Island Indigo satin ribbon from Sale-A-Bration.

I have layered the dress on a piece of Island Indigo card that I ran through the Big Shot with the Vine Embossing Folder.  The bottom edge was cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelits.  I stamped the greeting in Island Indigo using the Curly Cute stampset.  If you want to get hold of this set you better be quick.  You only have just over a week and it will be GONE!!!!

I’m glad I can finally show you this card. I think it was well-received????

See you again soon,

Jenny
