DIFFERENT WAYS WITH THE EASTERN MEDALLIONS THINLITS!

I have been working on this project for a few days.  Really! It’s not like it’s even a card but it seemed to take some time.  Maybe I was getting a little too fussy but anyway … I wanted to show ideas of how you can use the Eastern Medallions Thinlits.  I have seen a few Demonstrators show these ideas but thought it would be a good reference for myself – and to share with you.  🙂

These Thinlits would have to be the most versatile ones Stampin’ Up! have produced I think.  There are so many ways of layering them together or using one just by itself.  Don’t be limited to the ideas I have shown you here.

I hope this is  helpful for you.  See what you can put together.

Did you check out the great value in the Eastern Palace Suite Bundle that is available at the moment? There is only just over a week to grab this bundle.  If you want to refresh your memory just head back to this Blog Post -> HERE.   or see below.

Have a great day,

Jenny

A DAPPER DENIM/TIDAL TIDE MIX WITH THE EASTERN PALACE BUNDLE!

I have another Eastern Palace Suite card to show you today.  I created this card after I made the project for the Blog Hop while I still had everything out.  BTW: Have you checked the Blog Hop out yet with the Eastern Palace Suite?  If not head back 2 posts and start the Hop around to see some great projects with this suite.

The card base is Dapper Denim and then a piece of the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper is matted on to a Tidal Tide card mat.  I added one of the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers along the bottom edge.   For the flower I cut 2 of the shapes from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits in Tidal Tide and then 1 in Gold Foil.  I was still waiting on my Tidal Tide inkpad so I sponged the edges of the flowers with Versamark to add some depths of colour.  The flowers were layered together and then some stickers were placed on the top one.  Before adhering it to the card base I curled up the edges a little with my Bone Folder and then added some loops of the Gold Thread.  The sentiment is from the Eastern Beauty set and embossed in Gold and I added a little Gold embossed swirl as well.  This was punched out with the Classic Label punch and then adhered together with a Gold Foil one.   An adhesive Pearl was added to finish it off.

There you have it.  I hope you like it.  Until next time….

ESAD BLOG HOP WITH THE EASTERN PALACE SUITE!

Thank you for joining us on the ESAD Eastern Palace Suite Blog Hop.  I have already been sharing some cool projects with this suite this past week and I am excited to share this one with you too.

This project is a cute Tag and matching Envelope.  I will share the details on how to make it further below. It’s a bit hard to photograph with the shiny Gold Foil.  Sorry for the shine.

CREATING THE MINI TAG AND ENVELOPE.

THE ENVELOPE

1. Cut the envelope from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits with the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Before you assemble the envelope be sure to cut the circle window in the front panel with the Layering Circles Framelits.

2. Cut the circled strip in Gold Foil using the Thinlits in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set.  The little flower on the front strip is cut from one of the small Thinlits in the Eastern Medallion Thinlits set in Gold Foil and Dapper Denim.

3. The “flowery” diecut in the centre is from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits set.  It comes out attached to your card with the diecut outline. You can snip off the tiny sections where it is attached.  I then used one of the Layering Circle Framelits to cut out the centre of this piece and also cut the circle in the Treat Bag BEFORE  it is assembled as mentioned further above.

THE TAG

When you pull the tag out it reveals the stamped piece that you could see through the window of the bag.

1. On a piece of Very Vanilla card [measurements are 8.4cm x 12cm – (3 3/8″ x 4 3/4″)] stamp the smaller images from the ‘Eastern Beauty’ stamp set in Dapper Denim. At the bottom heat emboss in gold the “flourishy” image. Add a matching strip of DSP along the bottom.

2.Heat emboss the circle image from the ‘Eastern Beauty’ stamp set in gold onto  a small piece of Very Vanilla card. Then heat embossed the sentiment in the centre.  To do this first ink the stamp in Versamark and then ink in Dapper Denim ink before stamping on the card. Pour over your Clear Embossing Powder and heat.

3. Cut the stamped circle with the Layering Circle Framelits.  Layer this circle on to a Gold Foil Scallop Circle which is a larger size of Scallop than the circle in the Layering Circle Framelits. Raise them up off the card with Dimensionals.  Layer this Very Vanilla tag on to a piece of Dapper Denim card [measurements are 8.8cm x 12.4cm – (3 1/2″ x 4 7/8″)]  Then add a piece of Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon at the top and a small Gold “flowery” diecut over it. To finish add an Adhesive pearl to the centre of the flower and one on the circle sentiment.

4. For the reverse of the tag cut a piece of Very Vanilla card the same size as the piece on the front of the tag. (measurements above).  Stamp the corner images again and repeat the DSP strip at the bottom and the Gold Embossed “flourish”.

If you haven’t seen this great suite yet then below is the stamp set and the thinlits.  How many different ways can you use these Thinlits?? I will show you in a post soon.

A TOUGH ONE FOR COLOUR INKSPIRATIONS CHALLENGE #08!

I have to say this colour challenge was a hard one.  I don’t really like brown colours.  I might add just one of them to a card occasionally although I do use Crumb Cake quite a bit but that’s a soft shade! To get all these brown shades on one card was tough!  I have contemplated it over the past week and nearly didn’t worry about it but come on, this year is about facing challenges! 🙂

Here is the inspiration image with the colours for Colour INKspirations #08.

Cute image hey! but Delightful Dijon, Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Tip Top Taupe together – all on one card…  Seriously!

So I played around yesterday and managed to create something that I am kinda pleased about.

BTW: I am trying out a new place to take my photos.  What do you think??

The base card is Early Espresso and then a mat piece of the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper.  On a piece of Shimmery White card I stamped 3 of the “block” images from ‘Work of Art’ set.  The first one is stamped in Early Espresso, the middle in Soft Suede and the 3rd one in Tip Top Taupe.  Then I lightly misted the card with water and tilted the card a little to let the ink run a little.  I gave a little assistance with an Aquapainter too in spreading the ink.  The “BIRTHDAY” is from ‘Crazy About You’ and stamped in Early Espresso.

I dusted off my ‘Hello You’ Thinlits.  It’s been a while since I have used these – and they are retiring in less than a month!.  I cut a “happy” in Delightful Dijon and another in Whisper White and adhered them together just offsetting them a little.  They were then adhered straight on to the card with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. Before adhering the piece to the base I wrapped around some Linen Thread.  Then finished the card with some Early Espresso from the Brights Candy Dots (already retired).

Well I don’t think it is a TOP 5 finisher but I am happy with it and you just have to have a go don’t you. Taking part in challenges really stretches your creativity and I have really enjoyed doing them and taking time to stamp for myself.  Find out more about the Colour INKspirations Challenges HERE.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.  I hope there is some creativity involved for you. 🙂

A SOFTER POOL PARTY FOR EASTERN PALACE!

While I am waiting for my new Incolors to arrive I thought I would play with some different colours with the Eastern Palace suite.  This time I have gone for a softer colour combination of Pool Party, Smoky Slate and Island Indigo.

This card was inspired by a home decor framed piece by Kerstin HERE.

This suite is SO versatile! I can’t believe how many different ways you can use this.  I have mainly used the Eastern Beauty stamp set here and just the “flowery” shape die and the small centre piece using the Eastern Medallions Thinlits.  After I cut the “flowery” pieces, I curled them a little with my Bone Folder and then raised them up with the Dimensionals.

So something a little different with them.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny

EASTERN PALACE IN FRESH FIG!

I have been playing around with this brand new bundle coming soon,  the Eastern Palace suite.  I am liking all the different ways you can use this bundle.  I love how differently the Eastern Medallions Thinlits cut  to others we already had.

This  card I actually made before I made the one I showed in the last post and I have just realised I didn’t post this card.  Oops!  I CASED this card from Lyssa Zwolanek from songofmyheartstampers.com. You can see the original card HERE.

The base is Sahara Sand.  What about the mat colour.  What do you think?? This is one of the new Incolors Fresh Fig.  It’s a little deeper than Rich Razzleberry.  You can see the difference further below.

I like how the circle diecuts in the centre.  It’s a cool pattern.  Then I have cut 2 different centre die pieces.  I added a Gold Vinyl sticker on the top one.  The sentiment is really nice.  I like that font.

I added a thin strip of the Gold sticker down the bottom edge and then some of the gorgeous Gold Foil Designer Series Paper from the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper.

I finished it off with some Adhesive Pearls.

Here is the Fresh Fig colour in comparison to Rich Razzleberry and Perfect Plum.  This is from Brian King’s blog HERE.  Head there and check out some of the other colour comparisons too.

Thanks for visiting.  I am going to go and play with this bundle some more so stay tuned.

EASTERN PALACE MINI CARDS!

We had our team meeting last night.  I decided that I might get some swap cards made – like decided in the middle of the day!!  So these cards had to be quick – and they were!  A little die-cutting, only a little amount of stamping and then sticking them all together.

I have just started playing with this new suite, the Eastern Palace bundle, which will be available to order from next Monday.  I really like how fancy the dies cut and there are so many ways to put them together.  I will show you more about that another day but for now here is the card.

These are little 10cm x 10cm cards (4″x 4″).  I cut a smaller piece of the new Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper and adhered that to the base and then cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock just a little smaller again.  From this piece of Very Vanilla I cut the circular shape using a Thinlit and then the flower petals using a different Thinlit from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits set. Voila! A fancy card with little trouble at all. 🙂

I stamped one of the sentiments at the bottom from the Eastern Beauty stamp set.  I love how the sentiment curves around. Then I stamped the small flourish in both top corners.  From a different piece of the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper I punched a circle with the 1/2″ circle punch and raised that up with Dimensionals in the centre of the petals and then added an Adhesive Pearl.

I hope you like them.  I think they were well received.  Would you like your own?  I would love to send you some Happy Mail in the post to wherever you are.  Just send me an email/comment.

Stay tuned for some more Eastern Palace projects next week including a Blog Hop.

Have a happy day,

Jenny.
