TROPICAL PINEAPPLE CARD!

I have created lots with the Tropical Oasis Suite recently getting ready for my launch last weekend.  I forgot to take photos of the actual event which was a shame.  We had a lot of fun with Hawaiian music and a lei greeting.  And lots of creating.  I will share photos of the projects shortly.

This card was a sample I made to show.  I wasn’t sure what to do with the pineapple die from the In The Tropics die set.  I found a card on Pinterest HERE that I CASED. I simplified it and changed it a little.  This was my card.

Isn’t the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper gorgeous?  On the leaves of the pineapple I sponged a little Old Olive Ink and lifted the leaves up for some dimension.

The sentiment was stamped on white and cut with the tiny curvy die in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I just added a small strip of the Braided Burlap Trim and frayed out the end.

Hope you like my pineapple card.

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #95 – USING THE BIRTHDAY DIES!

Wednesday’s WOW! #95 – Today I am giving you some Tips using the Birthday Dies.

The Birthday Dies are now available as co-ordinating products with the Happy Birthday To You Stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.

When I went to use them for the first time it concerned me as the cake stand doesn’t line up with the cake stamp set.  It is a different shape.  That’s ok.  Just trim off under the base of the stand.  So you are cutting the leg of the stand off.

Then it’s easier to adhere the cake stand on to the cake.

I love these dies as they give a lot more layering to the set.  You have the 2 different leaf shape dies and there are 2 on each die making it quicker to cut.  They cut so easily too.

The other larger shape in the set is for the flowers.  To use this one, stamp your cake on your card then also stamp the cake on another piece of card.  After colouring the flowers on the additional piece you can diecut them and layer them on to your card.  You could have several layers of flowers by stamping and die-cutting them several times.

Below is part of a card I have made recently with the stamps and the dies.  I can’t show you the full card as this is my card for the Stamping Tutorials for this month.  It gives you a peak though. 🙂  I haven’t used the flower shape dies on this card but lots of leaves and I have cut the cake stand too.

I think this is a really great stamp set to begin with but having the dies now really adds to this set.  I love all the layering you can create.

The Happy Birthday To You set is a free Sale-A-Bration choice with orders over $90 AUD.

Another tip: Purchase the Birthday Dies ($50 AUD), add another stamp set or ink/card to make your total to $90 then choose the Happy Birthday To You set for FREE.  Winner! you can get both together. AND – ordering with me you will receive the Tutorial Bundle with the card above as one of the projects. 🙂

Have a great day,

Jenny

BLUE POPPY PATCH WITH THE PAINTED POPPIES!

Last week I shared a card with the Painted Poppies stamp set in a blue colour.  I made another card at the same time too so thought I would show you that one.

I used the Stone 3D Embossing Folder on the Balmy Blue card as I did on the other one.  The Poppies was stamped in Memento Black and then coloured with the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends. Gotta love the new Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  I used those to cut the white scalloped rectangle.

The sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings was heat embossed in white on black card and punched with the Classic Label Punch.

The Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon is so lovely.  It is soft and so easy to tie in to a bow.  Don’t forget you can colour this ribbon with your Stampin’ Blends if you want to match your project.

I’m thinking other colours for these poppies.  Let’s see how we go with that one.

Have a great week,

Jenny

DAFFODIL TIMELESS TROPICAL!

This weekend I am having my Tropical Fiesta Catalogue Launch.  I am sure it will be fun and with this weather it will certainly be feeling tropical.  I thought I would start sharing some of my cards using this suite.

To start off with I CASED the Catalogue.  You can find this card on p38 of the Mini Catalogue.  Isn’t it sunny and fresh??  I have to say I am loving the cute little Tropical Oasis Trinkets.

The card is just a little stamping with the Timeless Tropical stamp set and then diecutting.  Easy with the co-ordinating In The Tropics Dies. I find it easiest to adhere the little Trinkets on with Glue Dots.

If you notice the Palm Trees the leaves are stamped in Old Olive and the trunks Early Espresso.  On the card in the catalogue I think they have been coloured with the markers.  I didn’t do mine that way though.  I put together a video last week showing how I created the trees which I shared on my Facebook page when we went looking through the catalogue.  (BTW: Do you follow me on Facebook?? Just click on the social media links in the right column on my blog).

What I did was stamped them twice, once in Old Olive and once in Early Espresso.  I diecut them then trimmed off the leaves on the Old Olive one.  It is just simple snipping.

When I created the card on the video I didn’t fully complete it.  It was just to give you the idea of stamping the trees mainly.  Afterwards I put the card together but this time I did it a little different.  You can see that one below.

Which one do you like better??

This is the Timeless Tropical Bundle.  Available in my store now -> HERE. $90.75 AUD – which means you can pick up a Sale-A-Bration choice FREE. 🙂

Of course, don’t miss the beautiful Tropical Oasis paper.  (This one is available in my Paper share too.  Just head back a post or 2).

The Timeless Tropical is a great suite and I will be sharing more with it so stay tuned.

Have a great weekend.  I’m off to practise my hula dancing.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #94- MASKING WITH THE GANG’S ALL MEER!

Wednesday’s WOW! #94 – Let’s look at these cute little meerkats in the The Gang’s All Meer set available for Sale-A-Bration.  You have just got to love the sweet smiles don’t you?? 🙂

This set is great for fun birthday cards whether it’s just from you or from a whole group.  They are very easy to colour with any of your colour mediums whether it is the inkpads, watercolour pencils or Stampin’ Blends.  It has some other fun elements in the set with the little party hat for those meerkats or the cactus, or even a cute gecko that can join in the party.

See the stamp set in action in this video and particularly the great way of using this set with the masking technique.  It’s so easy and you can have a card full of these cute critters.

Below is the card with the masked Meerkats so you can get a better view of it.  Stamp as many meerkats as you like. You could use any other image you have using this same technique.

Here are some other samples Brian shared in this video so you can have a closer look.

Now you can have these cute meerkats yourself.

HIMALAYAN POPPY CARD!

Last week I shared on my Facebook page this card with the Painted Poppies stamps.  I wanted to go with a different colour of poppy than what you might be seeing all around the internet.  I looked up some poppy colours and saw a gorgeous blue one called the Himalayan Poppy.  So I tried to recreate this.

The Balmy Blue card piece was embossed with the Stone 3D Embossing Folder. A new favourite of mine.  The Poppy was coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.

I put together a video showing how I created the card.  You can check out this video on Youtube -> HERE.

Apologies in advance.  I am still working this video thing out so be patient. 😉

If you need these Painted Poppies (or any other products) in your life then you can grab them in my store now -> HERE.

INSPIRED POWER OF HOPE!

The other day I pulled out the Power of Hope Bundle with the stamp set and the 3D Stone Embossing Folder.  I wanted to be a little “arty”with it.  I don’t know why it was 40’C here!  I had already made one card with the bundle (which I shall show you later), and wanted to create more.  In between running in to the study to stand in front of the air conditioning to cool off a little and then running back to the Dining room to stamp and create away.  It was way too hot to work in my craft room even with the fan on.  Anyway, I was surprised what I came up with.  Thought I would share it with you today.

Before I started the card I did a little searching on Pinterest for Japanese art.  There were some beautiful images I must say but I chose this one to work with for inspiration.

This was my finished card.  Not exactly the same but that’s ok.  Sometimes you use images as a springboard for your creating.

I used Shimmery White card to take the watercolouring and just added a light wash with the Aquapainter and Granny Apple Green ink pad.  Leaving it to dry, which didn’t take too long in the heat I then stamped the images in Memento Black ink.  They were coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.  Afterwards I added a little more wash of the Granny Apple Green to the outer edges of the card and a little Smoky Slate under the building.  If you do this be very careful not to touch the stamped images or the black ink will run.

The stamped piece was cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies and layered on to Poppy Parade card mat.  I had run that piece through with the Stone 3D Embossing Folder although it is hard to see that. The sentiment was stamped on to a piece of Poppy Parade card and I flagged the end with scissors.  I added a piece of Gold Foil Sheet too and flagged the end of that piece.

The tassel is one of the Best Dressed Tassels.  To colour the ends I masked off the top half of the tassel with some scrap paper and coloured over the ends with the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.  Colour one side and turn it over, mask the area again and colour the other side.  You may want to check and touch up any white parts. The tassel was tied on with the White Baker’s Twine.

It’s a little bit arty for me but I had enjoyed creating it.

The Power of Hope is a beautiful bundle that is available as a Free choice for Sale-A-Bration with orders over $180 AUD.  I think it is totally worth it so be sure to grab that with your next order.

In Australia? Shop -> HERE.  Select your Sale-A-Bration choice when you have completed your order before checkout. 🙂  Please use the Host Code: R26WHBUN  AND THANK YOU. 🙂

Have a great weekend.  I hope there is some creating in store for you.

A SIMPLE POPPY CARD!

This card was one of the Make and Takes we had for Onstage in November.  I never made any of my cards that day – but then I usually don’t.  It’s the time to chat to people and I have to say it can get a little stressful when you have to make the cards in a short amount of time.  So I usually bring them home to make.

I only managed to complete the card this week.  I changed it up a little to what it was meant to be.  That’s ok. 🙂  The card is aimed for a beginner stamper.  One who is just starting out and doesn’t have a lot of products.  It’s basic stamping with little or no colouring or any diecutting.

I added a little more background stamping with the poppies and leaves using the Painted Poppies stamp set.  These were in poppy Parade.

On a piece of white card I stamped a poppy just off the top edge of the card and then added the Happy Birthday from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  I lightly sponged some Poppy Parade ink around the edge of the card.  I haven’t done that for a very long time.  I used to add it all the time but now I tend to leave the card clean – if I can describe it like that.

The strips of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper were adhered straight down on to the Poppy Parade card base and the white stamped piece was raised up with Dimensionals.  Before doing that I added a little piece of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.  Of course finish with bling.

Hope you like my version of the card.  There have been a few versions of this card from those who went to Onstage.

Happy Stamping,

Jenny
