WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #96 – USING THE BRAIDED BORDER PUNCH!

Wednesday’s WOW! #96 today I want to show you the new punch in the catalogue.  The Braided Border Punch.  I think it is pretty but I think there are a few tricks to using it too.  So let’s check it out.

You can find it on page 29 of the 2020 Mini Catalogue.

As with most of the border punches, to punch your card.  Slide in your card, rest the card against the small ridge on the punch and press down.  Then to re-punch, slide the card along and you can match up the pattern on the base of the punch.  Then you can punch again.  Repeat this along the card for the length you want.

You can buy the punch on it’s own but it co-ordinates nicely with the Beautifully Braided stamp set. And getting the bundle saves 10%!

In the stamp set is a lovely “lattice” style stamp that can stamp over the punched Braided border.  There is also a flourish stamp strip too.

But how you can line this up easily on the punched piece? I have some tips for you today.

Using the Stamparatus will greatly help you.

Firstly punch your piece of card to the length needed.

Place your strip of card in the Stamparatus.  Place it in the corner to rest the card against the edge so it is lined up.

Position the stamp upside down on to the punched piece so you can line it up properly with the punched area.  Using the side plate close up the Stamparatus plate to pick up the stamp.

Ink up the stamp, Fold over the plate to stamp on the punched card.  If you need to stamp further along then, slide the plate down the hinges, ink up the stamp and stamp down again.

***

Hope these tips are helpful to get the best out of this gorgeous punch.  Below are some samples from Stampin’ Up! to show these lovely stamps and punch.

This is pretty with the rows of punched braids.  This one has the flourishes stamped.  I think it would help to line this up on the Stamparatus as well.

This one below has ribbon threaded through the braids.  That’s a clever idea!

You will find the Beautifully Braided Bundle in my store now -> HERE.  $61 AUD.  Why not grab some card or some other items to reach the $90 so you can choose one of the free Sale-A-Bration products.

If ordering online you can use the Host Code – FURRYWCK  Thank You.

Be sure not to mark your order anonymous or I won’t be able to send out your gift and Thank You card.  And you will also receive the 12 project Tutorial Bundle (does not include projects with the Beautifully Braided Bundle).

Happy creating,

Jenny

MEERKAT TENT CARD!

I had a special request from a friend for a Housewarming card and the people LOVE Meerkats.  They have received it now so I can share this with you.

I wanted something a little different but I don’t have any “housewarming” type greetings.  I thought the Well Written Dies would work ok.

I made a Tent Card with The Gang’s All Meer stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.  Now I realise that this is a little tropical for the meerkats BUT I just thought it worked ok and kinda cute.  So just roll with it for me. 🙂

This is the front on view.

Side on View.

I have made a few versions of the tent card over the years but I have the tutorial again for the Tent card below.

The meerkats were stamped on Whisper White card and coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.  I fussy cut them out. TIP: Just leave a little white border when you fussy cut.  It’s softer on they eyes.

When I cut and scored the Old Olive card I adhered a piece of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper on the front panel and diecut it with the Scallop Circle from the Layering CIrcles Dies. This cut out piece was then adhered inside the card.

The Palm tree was stamped from the Timeless Tropical Stamp set.  I shared this tip in a recent video.  But to create the different colours on the palm tree you could colour it with your Markers But I stamped 2 trees, one in Old Olive and one in Early Espresso.  Then I cut off the palm leaves of the Old Olive one and adhered it straight on top of the Early Espresso one.

The welcome was diecut from the Well Written Dies and adhered on to the front with the cute standing Meerkat.  Of course finished with a Tropical Oasis Trinkets.

TENT CARD TUTORIAL

1. Cut your base card to measure 10.5cm x 29.5cm.    (4 1/4″ x 11 5/8″)

2. Score on the long side at 2.5cm, 5cm, 7.5cm, 18.5cm. (1″, 2″, 3″, 7 1/4″).  Fold on the score lines.

3. Cut your window from the front using the die of your choice.

4. Add adhesive onto the small tab and adhere to the inside of your folded card at the back. (Just fold up the card first to work out the best place for your adhesive).  I had the tab to attach to the back of the card so you can’t see it inside the front).

5. If you wish to add a piece of card inside for stamping as an alternative, cut a piece of Whisper White 11cm x 10.5cm. (4 1/4″ x 4  5/16″).  I used a piece of white card this size for on the back of the Tent Card for writing your message on too.

Have fun creating it,

Jenny

POWER OF HOPE SWAP CARD!

I can now share you my card I created for our recent Team Shoebox Swap.  I have shared the other cards recently.  This card was also the card I created for a group swap I was in.

I have used the Power of Hope stamp set and the 3D Stone Embossing Folder.

The black card was embossed with the embossing folder and you can’t tell in the photo but I swiped over the Versamark inkpad over the raised embossed parts on the card and it gave a little shine.

The Petal Pink card was stamped with the tree from the Power of Hope stamp set and the “Dots” were from the Beauty Abounds set.

The lady she was stamped in Memento and coloured with the Rich Razzleberry, Petal Pink and Black Stampin’ Blends.  The white card was cut with the largest die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  The sentiment was a bit bare just in white so I also cut a small piece of Gold Foil both diecut with the small rectangle from Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I finished the card off with a little of the Petal Pink Metallic Edged ribbon.

Hope you like it.  I have made this card quite a few times now.

This Power of Hope set is available Free as a Bundle with the Embossing Folder for Sale-A-Bration with orders over $180 AUD.  I hope you be sure to get your set before the end of March.  I think it’s a beautiful set and just a little different to others we have.

Have a great day,

Jenny

MEERKAT LOVE CARD!

So it’s Valentine’s Day on Friday.  We don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day that much in Australia.  Maybe a card or a chocolate treat for our “significant other”. I don’t even make a card. (am I bad??) 🙂

I couldn’t resist this cute little card though.  This is created by Stampin’ Up! artists.  It seems the cute The Gang’s All Meer set has even made it to Valentine’s greetings.  You can’t resist their cute little faces can you.

Lots of hearts are added with this cute meerkat using the Heart Doilies, From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Heart Punches.  The “love” is from the Well Written Dies.

The Gang’s All Meer Set is a Free choice for Sale-A-Bration with your orders over $90.  Available now in my store -> HERE Ordering now you won’t receive it by Valentine’s Day but it’s a cute set for any occasion.

This card wouldn’t take long to put together if you still need a Valentine’s card in a hurry.

Just remember that even if you don’t receive a Valentine’s card or chocolates.  You are loved. ❤

Have a happy day,

Jenny

STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD FEBRUARY BLOGHOP – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Time for another Blog Hop with the Stamping Around The World Tutorial Group.  This month I am sharing a project with the Happy Birthday To You stamp set as that is the stamp set I used for the Tutorials this month.

I wanted to try something a little different with the dies.  I wanted to layer up the flowers on the card to give more dimension.  A bit like the old Paper Tole effect.  You can tell in the photo how it looks.

I stamped the cake from Happy Birthday To You on white card 3 times.  I used Basic Gray ink as it is a little softer.  I coloured just the cake on one, and then the flowers on the other 2 cakes.  They were coloured with Stampin’ Blends (Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive).  The cake was coloured with Mint Macaron.

On one of the cakes (the one without the flowers coloured in), I cut the full cake out with the Birthday Dies.  On the other two cakes I cut the flowers out with the flower die.  On one of these diecut flowers I trimmed off the top flower to have just a single flower.

Then diecut some leaves from Old Olive and Mint Macaron and adhere them behind the flowers before assembling them together.  You will find it so much easier – trust me!! 😉

After all the diecutting you can layer the cake together using Dimensionals to layer up the flowers.  The full diecut flowers was layered on to the diecut cake and then the single flower was raised up on top of these flowers.  If that makes sense?  So there were 3 layers with the top flowers.  Check the photo below to see it.

To finish the card I adhered a piece of the Perennial Essence paper on to a white card mat and then they were adhered to a Flirty Flamingo card base.

A rectangle from Vellum was cut from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  To adhere this to the card I added a little Snail Adhesive  behind where the cake would be and then the cake was adhered on to the Vellum with Dimensionals.

The little sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings and cut with the cute little shape in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

Just a reminder that the Stamping Around The World are put together by 12 Demonstrators from around the world.  You can receive these tutorials as a Thank you for ordering from one of us.  Or you can purchase the Tutorials from me for $20 AUD.

Now you can head off on the Hop again.  Click on the little blue frog below and it will send you to the links.

Happy Hopping,

Jenny

MORE TEAM SHOEBOX SWAPS CARDS!

I mentioned in a previous post about our Team Shoebox Swap.  I thought I would share the other cards today with you.  It was just a small group this time so just a few cards.

Of course I changed them up a little from the original – because I could. 🙂

This one from Silvia is a card clip.  It is using the Parisian Beauty Bundle.  The Rococo Rose card was cut with the Stitched Rectangles Die and then the “script” stamp was stamped several times over it.  The Eiffel Tower was diecut from Gold Foil.  It’s hard to tell but there is some Wink of Stella over the Rococo Rose card and some clear heart embellishments.  The large noteclip had some Designer Series Paper wrapped around the clip.

This next one from Lynne was using the Painted Poppies bundle.  The Blackberry Bliss card was embossed with the Stone 3D Embossing Folder.  I angled the embossed card and the piece of Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper just to be different. The stamped poppy was stamped in Blackberry Bliss and cut with the die.  Using the Aquapainter spread over the ink a little to colour the poppy.

This next one from Vanessa is using the Honey Bee Bundle.  I am still not sure of this bundle but I liked making this card.  The one cool thing with this bundle is the bees in the Detailed Bee Dies cuts some of the bees in the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration.  So clever that Stampin’ Up! does this.

The honeycomb die was cut from the Bermuda Bay to use the small hexagons on the piece of Designer Series paper.  Also a fit with the dies!  I didn’t want to waste the honeycomb so I added that to my card.

The bees were coloured with the dauber and inkpads.  As the bees were embossed they resist the ink so you have coloured centres.  The large black bee at the top is stamped in black and diecut with the die.

I will post my card that I shared for the swap in another post coming up soon as I will give you some more details on it. Stay tuned for that.

TIP: Purchase any of these bundles.  They are approximately $75, add some card and ink to reach  your $90 so you can add one of the Sale-A-Bration choices.  Great with the Honey Bee Bundle as you could choose the Golden Honey Designer Series Paper.  Check them all out in store -> HERE.

Have a great day,

Jenny

SUNDAY SUITES – TROPICAL OASIS SUITE!

It’s time for another Sunday Suites.  I have been sharing a few projects recently with the Tropical Oasis Suite of products but let’s look more closely at them in more detail.

Here we have the full Tropical Oasis Suite Bundle of products.

The Tropical Oasis Suite Bundle includes
* Timeless Tropical Cling Stamp Set (10% off)
* In the Tropics Dies (10% off)
* Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper
* Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder
* Tropical Oasis Trinkets
* Saddle Brown Stazon Ink Pad and Refill
* Timeless Tropical Memories & More Card Pack
* 5/16″ (8 mm) Braided Burlap Trim

I have a few favourites in this suite of products from the gorgeous Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper to the cute Tropical Oasis Trinkets.  The Timeless Tropical Memories and More card pack is so versatile as it makes some really cool cards with them not just for your Memory keeping.

This is the paper below.  If you want to check it out closer head to the Youtube video -> HERE.

Below are the sweet Tropical Oasis Trinkets.  I think they are adorable.   You receive 24 trinkets: 6 each of 4 designs
The Largest trinket is 3/4″ x 1/2” (1.9 x 1.3 cm).  Not bad for $13 AUD. I find the best way to adhere these to your projects is with a Glue Dot.

The Tropical Oasis Memories and More cards.  You know some of these would be great to frame.  Well I think so as I have a “coastal” sort of style in my house.

I love the texture that the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder gives on your projects.

A great addition in this suite of products is the Saddle Brown Stazon.  It’s great for your watercolouring projects and I think it is a little softer than the Black Stazon.  It gives a more subtle outline.  You can use the regular Stazon Cleaner to clean your stamps after using the Saddle Brown Stazon.  The refill is available too.

Not only is it good for watercolouring it’s a nice Brown shade for your earthy, neutral projects.

Some more projects with this suite, just because. 🙂

The Tropical Oasis Suite has certainly been popular with my customers.  What are your thoughts of it??

You can see the Suite in my store -> HERE and order there as well. Or contact me directly.

After you place your order I will send you out the Tutorial Bundle of 12 projects (not all are with this suite).

Have a great Sunday,

Jenny

WATERCOLOURED PAINTED POPPIES!

I want to share this card with you today.  I made it at our team Shoebox Swap last week.  I will show you the other cards we made later but thought I would show you this one today as I recreated it and filmed a video to show you how it was made.  Hope you like it.

It’s using the Painted Poppies set and is a fun card – although a little messy.  This card was shared to me by Deborah in our Inky Fingers Team.

Just a quick overview of how to make the card but be sure to watch the video (and you can subscribe to my channel on Youtube to catch new updates.  It’s early days but I am working on it!) 🙂

  1. Use your clear block and press the ink pad on to the block to get some ink.  Use the Aquapainter to spread the ink around and make it a little watery.
  2. Press the Painted Poppies “splodge” stamp on to the clear block to pick up some ink.  Press it on to your card.  I used Very Vanilla.  You could use Thick Whisper White, Shimmery White or Watercolor card.  Repeat this 3 more times over the card in a “circular” pattern.  Use the Aquapainter to spread the ink and also add some more ink from the block if you need to.
  3. Allow to dry then stamp the flower outlines over the “splodges”.  Stamp the leaves in black over the card.
  4. Use the large “splatter” stamp and ink it up in Mossy Meadow ink.  Stamp off first on scrap paper then stamp over the larger leaves.  Use the smaller “splatter” to stamp over the smaller leaves.  Clean the stamp, ink up the stamp in Gray Granite then stamp off first on to scrap paper. Stamp on the small leaves.
  5. Diecut flower centres add them to the card and stamp the sentiment.  Adhere the card to the card base.

Hope you have some messy fun with this card.

Have a great day,

Jenny
