WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #93 – LAYERING THE POPPY MOMENTS DIES!

Wednesday’s WOW! #93.  Today we are looking at the Poppy Moments Dies.  These are lovely dies in the 2020 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue.  There are so many dies and what do you do with them??

Today’s Wednesday’s WOW! is Layering the Poppy Moments Dies.  See how these flower dies work together.

You will find in these dies a number of flower shapes and leaf shapes.  They can work on their own or layer them together.  You can see in the image above how I have layered them.

There are a number of small flower centres too.  The really small leaf shape that you can use for the small “bud”, I have also used as a small leaf.  I showed that in the little tags in the previous post.

Below is the dies to see what they actually look like.  One die I haven’t shown on the image above is that small shape in the top left.  This diecuts the pattern in your card.  It doesn’t completely cut the card.  I will share that in another post to show you how it works.

Hope this is helpful for you when you come to use the dies.  PIN the image so you have it as a reminder next time.

Have a great day,

Jenny

POPPY THANK YOU TAGS!

On the weekend for my special Poppies class I made each person that came a little Thank You tag for coming.

They are just simple tags but you don’t need to do a lot with these poppies.

The top of the Whisper White tag is punched with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch with some Petal Pink Metallic Edge ribbon through the top.

After cutting the poppies,  the Petal Pink solid flower was sponged with a little Petal Pink ink and then the outline poppy in Poppy Parade was adhered over the top.  There was just a little strip of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper across the bottom.  The leaf cut in Granny Apple Green is actually the “leaf” or base for the small poppy bud but I think it works well as a little leaf.

The “splotch” stamp is from the Painted Poppies Stamp set and the Thank You from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

Sweet tags in no time.

I showed you all about the gorgeous Poppies products in yesterday’s Sunday Suites.  Did you check them out?

You can head to my shop now -> HERE and see them.

SUNDAY SUITES – PEACEFUL POPPIES SUITE!

We are looking at the Peaceful Poppies Suite today for our Sunday Suites.  Since I have been sharing a little recently with the Poppies Suite and this weekend I have had a really fun Poppies class (more on that later), I thought it was a good time to share this suite.

The Peaceful Poppies Suite is an absolutely gorgeous one.  There are lots of different products in this suite with not just one, but TWO stamp and die bundles.

Let me tell you about them.

Below is the full Peaceful Poppies Suite Bundle.  All these products are available all together as one bundle ($238AUD), or you can buy them individually.

The Peaceful Poppies Suite Bundle includes:

* Painted Poppies Cling Stamp Set (10% off)
* Peaceful Moments Cling Stamp Set (10% off)
* Painted Labels Dies (10% off)
* Poppy Moments Dies (10% off)
* Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper
* Peaceful Poppies Sequins
* Whisper White 1/4″ (6.4 mm) Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
* Peaceful Poppies Elements

Product colours in this suite are: Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Rich Razzleberry.

Below is the Painted Poppies Bundle.  You have the Painted Poppies stamp set and the Painted Labels Dies.  The dies have 2 great labels shapes for any sentiments.  The flower shape will cut the full flower shape, and you have the smaller leaf die for the smaller leaf in the set.

I love the swirly shape.  It’s a great one for backing your sentiments.

The second Bundle available in this suite is the Peaceful Moments Bundle which includes the stamp set and the Poppy Moments Dies.

These dies have the 2 different flower shapes with their outline which are great for layering together.  It also has 2 different leaf shapes to layer together and a couple of little flower centres.  It has a really fun background die which I will tell you more about later.

This Painted Poppies Designer Series Paper is GORGEOUS!!  Truly beautiful prints and such fun, rich colours.  These were very popular in class this weekend.  You don’t need much more on your cards when you use this paper.

The Peaceful Poppies Elements ($11.25) are a bit of a sleeper in the catalogue.  I don’t think the catalogue shows them too well.

The pack contains:

8 sheets total
* 2 sheets black die-cut elements with black foil prints: labels, banners, borders
* 2 sheets white thick cardstock die cuts with coloured prints: poppies
* 2 sheets vellum die cuts with white prints: poppies and leaves
* 2 sheets watercolour paper die cuts with clear UV prints for watercolouring: poppies and leaves

With the Printed diecut sheets you can simply pop them off the sheet and add them to your project.

On the watercolour paper sheets, the poppies and the leaves are embossed. You can give a light wash over the images with your ink and Aquapainter to give a little colour.  The images will resist the wash.  It looks cool.

What about the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon shown below!  It is very light, soft ribbon.  AND don’t just leave it white.  You can easily add colour to this ribbon by running over it with the Stampin’ Blends to create a colour to match your project you are creating.

Now for some samples for you courtesy of Stampin’ Up!

These cards below show the background die.  It is very effective.  For the card on the bottom right, the die was run through acetate or very thick card.  This creates a mask. Place this on to your card and then lightly rub over it with the Texture Paste.

Why not fancy up a journal by creating the layered flowers.

Lots of inspirational projects on this hanger.  What one is your favourite?

So what do you think of the Peaceful Poppies Suite?  Get the whole suite or just one or 2 products within the suite. Either way you won’t be disappointed.

See them all in store -> HERE.

If ordering please use the Host Code: R26WHBUN

Thank You,

Hope your Sunday is great,

Jenny

ALL DRESSED UP BACKPACK!

Have you seen these cutie bags around the internet?  They are made with the All Dressed Up Dies from the Best Dressed Suite.  So sweet. ❤

This is one I made for my presentation at Onstage.  By changing the handles you can make it in to a backpack.

I kept it simple and didn’t add a tag on this one but it is easy to do.  You don’t need too much with this gorgeous paper from the Best Dressed Designer Series paper.

Cut the buckle out using the die and add that to the strip before adhering the handle to the bag. To add the handle, adhere one end of the strip inside the front of the bag.  The other end, fold over the end a little and then adhere this to the back of the bag checking the position of the handle so you have a little curve happening.

A few people have commented about cutting the paper with these dies that they tend to be “cutting” rather than “scoring” on the bag.  I would suggest play around with the layers on your diecutting machine. You may need a shim on the top of your plates.  Alternatively, if you have a soft mat place that as your top cutting plate making sure the die is facing down as you don’t want to cut the mat. 🙂

Others have asked how tall these bags are. They are tiny.  It stands at the height of the Tombow multipurpose adhesive.  If fits the small notecards in which is about 7cm (3″) high.

Happy playing.

STAMPING AROUND THE WORLD JANUARY BLOG HOP – TROPICAL OASIS!

Back with another Blog Hop from some of the Stamping Around The World Tutorial group.

The monthly tutorials are put together by a number of demonstrators from around the world and we send the tutorials out as a Thanks for ordering OR you can purchase the tutorials too.  I send one tutorial project out as a Thanks for people when they join my newsletter too. (see the link in the side column)

For the projects with these Blog Hops we use the same stamp sets/dies that we used for our own tutorial project for that month.  This month I have a project for you using the Tropical Oasis bundle. I am loving this bundle for it’s freshness and memories of a tropical paradise.  I have been to Hawaii a few times so this brings back lovely memories.

Enough waffling – on to my project as that is what you all really came to see.

This card was designed from a sketch like this one -> HERE.

The sketch had an angled focus piece which I have created with the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper.  I think on looking at this now I should have angled the paper piece a little more.

The white card was embossed with the new Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder.

The hibiscus flower and the leaves from the Timeless Tropical Stamp set were stamped on Shimmery White card with Black Stazon and coloured with the Watercolor Pencils.

TIP: when colouring, lightly colour and use the Aquapainter to wash over the colour slightly.  LET IT DRY! Don’t be in a hurry.  Allow time to dry.  It doesn’t take too long.  Then add some more colour to add a little more depth of colour.  Wash over it again then allow to dry. Then go back over it and add highlights.  It is a slow process I know but it gives you that depth of colour. It’s easier to add colour than take it away.

Before adhering the flower and leaves on to the card I added some loops of the Linen Thread behind them.

The sentiment was stamped on Crumb Cake card and cut with my new favourite the Stitched So sweetly Dies.  I added a little of the Braided Burlap Trim under the sentiment and just fluffed up the end of it.  To do this with your fingers rub the end and separate the threads until you are happy with it.  To adhere it to the back of the card I added a strip of the Tear and Tape on the back of the sentiment card piece and stuck the trim onto that.

If you want to check the Tropical Oasis suite, head to my store -> HERE.  You can order there too.  Don’t forget the HOST CODE: R26WHBUN

Now head off to continue the Blog Hop.  Click on the Blue froggy link below.  If you get lost head directly to Sue’s blog -> HERE.

Happy Hopping.

BEST DRESSED – ALWAYS IN STYLE!

Another Best Dressed card for you since I am on that roll at the moment.  I will mix it up a bit never fear. 🙂

This is a sample I made for the display board at Onstage with the Best Dressed Suite.

You don’t need much with the gorgeous Best Dressed Designer Series Paper do you?? Such pretty little flowers and pretty colours.

I added a little stamping on the Petal Pink Stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes dies. To add colour to the perfume stamp one of the “wash” stamps.  The sentiment was cut with one of the stitched labels in the All Dressed Up dies and then you can tuck one of the Best Dressed Tassels in behind it.  I used a Glue Dot to stick it down.  The Pretty Peacock strip down the side was embossed with the Lace 3D Embossing Folder to add some texture.

I think Kindness is Always In Style right.  The world needs a little more kindness.

Have a great day to you and share a little kindness today,

Jenny

SUNDAY SUITES – BEST DRESSED SUITE!

Sunday Suites are back for 2020.  This week since I have been sharing projects with the Best Dressed Suite let’s have a closer look at the whole suite.

I think the Best Dressed Suite is a really fun one and can be quite classy too.

This is what is included in the entire Best Dressed Suite Bundle.

The Best Dressed Suite Bundle includes:

* Dressed to Impress Photopolymer Stamp Set (10% off)
* All Dressed Up Dies (10% off)
* Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper
* Mint Macaron 1/8″ (3.2 cm) Sheer Linen Ribbon
* Best Dressed 3″ x 3″ (7.6 x 7.6 cm) Note Cards & Envelopes
* Best Dressed Tassels

Colours used in the suite are: Blackberry Bliss, Daffodil Delight, Lovely Lipstick, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock, Purple Posy, Mint Macaron.

Let’s have a closer look at the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper.  It is gorgeous.  One side has stylish images, the other side has floral prints either large or small.

One thing I learned when preparing my projects for Onstage was that the larger floral prints have been designed with white spaces around the flowers so you can easily fussy cut them to add directly to your projects.  I will share more about that on another post.

The Best Dressed Notecards and envelopes make really quick note cards to give to others.  They have a partly printed “swoosh” on the front of the card and the envelopes are printed on as well.  There are 24 in total with the cards and envelopes and they come in Daffodil Delight, Purple Posy and Petal Pink.  They are really sweet.  They are little cards measuring 3″x3″ or 7.6cm x 7.6cm.

What about some samples with these mini notecards.  These are straight from the catalogue. The notecards fit nicely inside the bag too so that gives you an idea of the size of the bag.

The All Dressed Dies are really fun.  They make the sweetest little bags.  You can change them up anyway you like.  See the samples below.  I have created a few fun bags already that I will share with you soon.

Don’t forget the Best Dressed Tassels as well.  There are 18 in total. 6 each in Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock and Whisper White.  With the White ones too you can colour them with the Stampin’ Blends or sit them in a little dish with reinker and water.

In the dies set is the long stitched die.  It’s great for the handles on your bags or I have used it as an edging but what about this fun idea.  Add the strips to the front of a card to create added texture.  This card sample is from Stampin’ Up!

So what do you think of the Best Dressed Suite?? Fun hey??

If you want to see more about them check the Youtube video out -> HERE.

BEST DRESSED – LIPSTICK STREAK!

Another card for you today with the Best Dressed Suite.  This was another project I shared at Onstage last November with this suite.

The Dressed To Impress stamp set has some cute images and some really fun “wash” type images.  These washes are great to add colour to the cute images as an alternative to colouring them with the inks or the Stampin’ Blends, or you can use them as background stamping.

The stamp set is below so you get an idea.

I wanted to show a different way of using one of the longer “wash” streaks.  As you can see in the card below, use it as a nice long lipstick steak.  Make it any colour you like, BUT – Be as Bold As Your Lipstick. 🙂

For this card a piece of the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper was cut with a large Stitched Rectangles Dies and then one was cut on white card with a smaller of the rectangles.

On the Lovely Lipstick base card stamp some of the smaller flowers in the top left corner and the bottom right corner with Lovely Lipstick ink to give just a subtle background stamping.

On the white card stamp the “streak” across the bottom of the white card. I used Lovely Lipstick. Stamp your lipstick at an angle.  This one was coloured with the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends on the base of the lipstick.  The lipstick colour was stamped with the small circular “wash”.

Stamp the sentiment in Memento black and punch that out.  Add a few loops of the Silver Thread behind it before raising it up off the card.  Of course add some bling with the Rhinestones to finish.

Now go and streak that lipstick. 🙂

You can see this set and buy in store now -> HERE.

Don’t forget with every order with me you receive a Tutorial Bundle of 12 different projects as a little Thank you.  Plus I send out a little card and small gift to say Thanks so be sure to not mark it anonymous when you order. AND with orders over $90 you receive your choice of Free Sale-A-Bration set.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Have a great weekend,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #92 – BEST DRESSED FOR DIFFERENT CRAFTERS!

Back with Wednesday’s WOW! For the year.  You might hear people talking about different types of crafters but what does all that mean – and what type of crafter are you?  Today’s Wednesday’s WOW! #92 – Looking at the different types of crafter, or you might here them being referred to as customer types.

As part of my presentation at Onstage in November I needed to talk about the different crafters and make samples to suit.  So this is a good time to share some of the cards I made using the Best Dressed Suite for these different crafters.

The different Crafter Types are Beginner, Casual and Avid. You can see the 3 cards below.

A BEGINNER CRAFTER:

– New to stamping

– Needs guidance with where to start

– Needs a good experience and sense of accomplishment

– Wants simple designs and easy to use products.

– Wants affordable products.

So the top card is suitable for a Beginner crafter.  The Note Cards and Envelopes are affordable and easy to use.  Just add some simple stamping on the card and the envelope is great to stamp on as well.

A CASUAL CRAFTER:

– Likes to be helped when crafting

– Crafts occasionally

– More likely to copy projects

– Likes simple designs

– Needs crafting to fit the time they have

– Has less funds available for supplies

– Likes multiple uses for products

The card above is still simple in design but uses a little more products.  The paper adds an extra touch to the card but is still affordable.  Limited tools are needed to make the card. By layering the lipstick this will add some dimension to the card.  The lipstick is easy to fussy cut if the crafter doesn’t have a die-cutting machine.

AN AVID CRAFTER:

– Crafts daily to weekly

– Frequently creates projects from scratch

– Does like a casual experience occasionally

– Makes crafting part of their lifestyle

– Frequently buys and uses the products

– Buys more frequently than beginner and casual crafters

– “collects” products

– Likes specialised products

The above card is suitable for an Avid crafter.  It has several layers adding dimension to the card. It uses a number of different products as in the dies and the papers and even a little Wink of Stella sparkle on the lipstick.  An Avid crafter loves it all and wants it all.  Do you know an avid crafter?? 😉

****

So what type of crafter are you??  Are you a “collector”of crafting products? do you stamp frequently??   I think I waver between a Casual and Avid stamper.  I like projects to be quick and I have a simple style but I do create often and like to have some “tools”.

Hope you found this helpful or slightly interesting at least.  Maybe it inspires you in some way. 🙂

How ever often you create or what style you create I hope you enjoy it and that you be sure you take time for you to create.  It’s important for the soul.

Have a great day,

Jenny
