A FLOWER WITH THE ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD!!!

It has been a while since I have had a good play with my Envelope Punch Board apart from some quick envelopes and gift Card Holders. What about you???? I came across this really cute flower that can be made with the Envelope Punch Board. I have to try this I think but I thought I would share this with you first. I have the video link below for you. Have a go! If I wasn’t so busy at the moment I would give it a try but I am getting ready to head off on Friday to Melbourne for the Stampin’ Up! Onstage Event. This was a last minute decision so things are a little crazy 🙂

GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #GDP009

I know I am in the middle of sharing my stamping weekend projects with you but I have been so busy with Christmas cards and making projects for the upcoming fairs that I wanted to break out and make something else today. I thought maybe a challenge!!!!

Challenges are great to take part in as they really extend your creativity and makes you think and try new things. What challenge to do though??? I had the Global Design Project email fresh in my Inbox so why not have a go!! I haven’t had a chance to play along with these challenges at all yet – so TODAY WAS THE DAY!

This week’s challenge was a Colour challenge with the colours – Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder. Well that takes care of the colours but you still have to work how what to do for the card. What stamps? What techniques?? So many options. You could choose another challenge to join in with as well if you like but I wanted to do some watercolouring. Here is my card that I came up with.

I dusted off my ‘Perfect Peacock’ stamp. Do you know this was the first time to ink this up. (Don’t tell anyone!).

I washed over the Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder inkpads with the Aquapainter on to Watercolour paper. When that was dry I stamped the peacock in Versamark and then Gold Embossed this. The greeting from ‘Petite Pairs’ was embossed in Gold Embossing Powder too. I didn’t want to add too much to the card as it would take away from the beautiful detail in the peacock. So I just added some little banners in Gold Foil and the Gold Vellum from the ‘Winter Wonderland’ Vellum Stack. I finished this off with a bow from the Gold Cord. I pierced some holes in the bottom right corner too as it looked a little bare. It was all adhered to a Watermelon Wonder card mat and Mint Macaron card base. (They look so much brighter though in the photo!).

Today’s card I want to share is using the great bundle ‘Reason For The Season’ stamp set and Festive Flower Builder Punch. I love how this card came together.

The base card is Real Red. That seems to be the colour card I have used most with these recent Christmas cards! I embossed some Whisper White cardstock with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. The flower is so easy to put together. Stamp out all your petals and leaves, I have used Real Red on Whisper White and Mossy Meadow ink on the cardstock. I punched out a circle with the 1 3/8″ circle punch in scrap white card and built up the flower on this. I have used the Multipurpose adhesive to adhere it all together. The centre is punched out with Gold Foil and I added a Real Red Brights Candy Dot to the centre. The “merry” cut from Gold Foil is from the Christmas Greetings Thinlets.

I would really recommend this Bundle. You can find it on p31 of the Holiday Catalogue. In Australia it is $57.75. Save 15% as a Bundle. Gotta love that! You can order this through my Online Store HERE or by phoning/emailing me.

THANK YOU TREAT HOLDERS!

A few posts back I showed you some cute tea bag holders I made. You can see that post HERE. Based on these holders I made up some little Thank You Treat Holders for some special people this week. Here is one of them to show you.

I have used the ‘Bohemian Designer Series Paper’ on the front flap. I embossed the front panel with the ‘Boho Chic’ Embossing Folder. The greeting is from the Hostess set ‘You’re A Whole Lot of Lovely’. This was punched out with the 2 1/2″ (6.4cm) Circle Punch. The flap can be tucked in behind the circle to enclose it. Some I added a little glue dot underneath the flap to hold it down as some kept popping up. I added some little flowers punched from the ‘Itty Bitty Accents’ Pack and added little dots for the centres with white gel pen. I added some loops of Gold Cord behind the circle before I adhered the circle down with dimensionals.

This Treat Holder was the perfect size for a little chocolate treat. I added a glue dot to the back of the Chocolate to keep it in place.

To make them I used the same directions for the Tea Bag Treat Holder that you will find in the above post link except I only scored the card (7 cm x 25cm) at 9cm, 11.5cm and 21cm. ** If you would like the imperial measurements for these, then check at the above link for the tea bag Holders. Just don’t add the 4″ score line).

These were well received today I think 🙂

A DIFFERENT FLOWER WITH THE FESTIVE FLOWER PUNCH!

I made this card a few weeks ago but only had a chance to show you now. When I received my Festive Flower Punch I had to have a play and create a different flower than the traditional one. That’s what you do right??? 🙂 I made a card up with the flower. Since making this flower I have seen some great variations on Pinterest. I have to say I do like those ones a lot so I will have to make those too. Here is my card and I will give you the details of the flower. You might remember the small flower that you could make with the wing of the 2-step bird punch?? Well this is it’s big brother 🙂

I have a chart below to show you how I created the flower so I won’t say too much about that. For each of the pieces I sponged them with ink. I have used Rich Razzleberry for the flowers and Old Olive for the stems. See the pearl accent?? I was trying to work out what to add. I added a Metal Rimmed Pearl but the silver didn’t go right so I created my own. I punched a circle from the Gold Foil Sheets using the smaller circle from the Owl Punch. I adhered a pearl to the centre and added the both with a glue dot onto a small bow from Whisper White Baker’s Twine. I really liked this addition. The greeting is from ‘Birthday Blossoms’ and I punched one corner with the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch.

So this punch is very versatile. Not just for your Poinsettia flowers. I can’t wait to make some other versions.
